Kaishin lovers, DCMK people or Magic Kaito fellow, I have a question to ask.

Is there any YouTube videos that are a review of Magic Kaito by an experienced magician? Or a review of Detective Conan episode or cases by a detective? Cause I'm honestly curious if there are people who reviewed and critiqued the shows plus it's even better if there's a video of a cosplay Kaitou Kid who did magic! Cause I can't seem to find any that and the one's that I did, I already watched.

Now for the Kaishin lovers, you can stop reading at this point if you don't like Kaishin.

Can someone please recommend me some good fics? I have scoured ao3, not much on fanfiction.net (you can rec on fics on that too), on kaishin fics so many times that almost everything I'm interested in, I've read already.

I'm not partial to anything about the tropes but I do have some ideas that I like.

Other than a hot top kaito (this is embarrassing)

Pandora Kaito/Shinichi/OC, Dark Kaito (his whole character is practically begging for it, for all that supress emotions and fabricate it nonsense, don'tget me started on Toichi), Angst (when done good, it's done good), Black Org Takedowns (Better if Kaito's side gets takendown too), Death persona Shinichi (like he's a shinigami, angel of death, or anything that relates to death), reaction fics (its like cinema fics of Kid and Conan's life by other characters), Media coverage or news coverage fic (these tends to be a bit silly, can also includes reality shows), celebrity fic (idols, singers, actors, anything in the spotlight), wing fic (do I need to say more?), college fics (I know there are some but i still want recs), Undercover Shinichi or Kaito (can be on the job or part of FBI or the police) And any elaborate world building or lores (can be fantasy, sci-fi, superpowers or anything else, fics like these are rare, especially the good ones)

Now unto the ideas that I dont often see:

Kuroba Kaito doesn't know Conan is Shinichi Kudo (and vice versa), No one knows Conan is Shinichi Kudo (I want to see a fic like this and want to see how the author would figure it out, it's fine if there's compromises to certain characters that are too involved to Knowing Conan is Shinichi but the one thing I know close to it is Dominoes and it's only in the latter part of the fic), Journalist Shinichi (again, Dominoes, and since I'm someone who has experience being a journalist, I'm partial to this and any news or media coverage fic I find), Game fics (either they are players, streamers or anchors, I once found a Kaishin fic on lofter where they're streamers and sadly I can't find it now since lofter has new regulations for guests, just anything game related cause I remember that one otome game fic of shinichi), Shinich used as bait for Kid (I know there are some fics like these but I'm pretty sure I already read those and it's still lacking for meeee), Isekai fics (for an anime from Japan, there's a large lack of isekai fics here) and finally Highschool fics (I haven't seen any fics that feature Kaito and Shinichi as Highschoolers, they can do whatever they like with the plot but yeah, Highschool setting damnit)

And that's all I could think of, you can use this as prompts for a story, art or anything you like. If you do have any recommendations, please share it with me. I'd be eternally grateful since pretty much all the things I like in Kaishin ao3 isn't new for me anymore.

If you're blessed enough to be off MMATwitter, there was a small debate opened up recently about pivoting in MMA. Analyst Miguel Class made an off-hand comment saying that the first fighter to learn to pivot above 170lbs would make themselves a champion. Then a bunch of randos came out the woodwork to scream pivoting, one of the fundamental movements you learn in day 1 kickboxing classes, doesn't work in MMA because you can get takendown, leg kicked, etc.

It was a stupid argument, born out of pure ignorance. Like how people thought head movement was impossible in MMA back when the best fighter in the sport was Anderson Silva. Or how the body jab would get you knee KOed despite JDS using it to carry himself to the UFC heavyweight title. It's based in a fundamental lack of knowledge and terrible assumptions. It's from people who see fighting like a fighting video game. The same logic where you can't jab at all because it's not a strong punch. Or that you can't slip punches because what if head kick? They see fighting as a game of checkers instead of a fluid game of manipulation via incentive.

Class answered with clips of Jose Aldo hitting his big, fancy exit pivots. But Connor Ruebusch of the Heavy Hands podcast took it a step further. While the big Usyk/Aldo style pivots are eye-catching, he aims to talk about the utility of the small pivots. It's a good read for my fellow nerds who like understanding the nuance of the game.

When Taemin is twelve, Batman has to go help out a couple other League heroes takendown a particularly tricky villain trio. It’s a Friday though, so Taemin just stays at Mount Justice for the night. Not a problem. Taemin doesn’t have an issue with Minho being away for just one night.

But when Superman and Flash bring an incapacitated Batman to the Mount Justice infirmary - it was the closest League infirmary available - Taemin feels like he can’t breathe.

The team had stayed up late watching movies, and Taemin immediately bolted towards the three adult heroes when he saw them.

“Batman!” he called, his voice wavering. “What’s wrong with him?”

“Stay with the others for now,” Kibum says softly. And he motions for Kai to come hold Taemin back. “He took a few pretty hard hits, we need to patch him up.”

“I wanna see him!”

“Robin,” Kibum says forcefully. “You don’t want to see him right now.”

“What happened?”

The way Taemin’s voice cracked made everyone’s hearts twist. Kibum just sighs.

“A building collapsed,” Kibum says gently. “He got caught in it getting some people out. Give us a couple hours, and I will come get you as soon as you can see him, I promise.”

“Is he gonna be okay?”

There’s a long pause before Kibum repeats, “Give is a couple hours.”

Kibum is quick to go to the infirmary, and a few other League members with medical experience show up quickly to help. Taemin breaks free from Kai quickly to try and follow.

“Batman!” he shouts, but Superboy has since come over to help hold him back too. “Let go of me! BATMAN! Let me see him, let go, BATMAN!”

Taemin is hyperventilating and crying and trying his damn best to pull away from Superboy, but it seems like kryptonian super strength beats toxic waste super strength. It’s unfair, it’s mean, they’re the worst teammates ever, and Taemin doesn’t hesistate to tell all of them as much. No one holds it against him. Kai and Amber especially try to help calm him down, and Taemin ends up curled against Kai, tears still leaking from beneath his mask.

“He wasn’t - he wasn’t,” Taemin stammers, “he wasn’t breathing.”

“He was breathing, Robin,” Superboy says. “I could hear it.”

“He wasn’t - wasn’t moving.”

“He’s hurt,” Amber says gently. “But they’re making him better right now.”

Any plans for a normal team bonding night we’re squashed. Taemin wouldn’t move from Kai’s lap, wouldn’t stop shaking, wouldn’t stop mumbling about how Batman was hurt so badly. He eventually stops mumbling, stops crying, and just sits completely numb against Kai’s chest. If they could see his eyes, they’d know how unfocused they were. There was a rushing noise on his ears. He completely blacked out until Jinki came to find him.

“Robin,” Jinki says gently, knelt down in front of him. “You can come see Batman now. He’s stable, and we have him sedated for the time being, but he’s going to be just fine.”

Taemin is sluggish at first, stumbles when he stands up, but then literally flies down to the infirmary to see Minho.

Minho is unconscious on one of the infirmary beds, bandages wrapped around part of his head and chest and arms. The cowl is off, but a domino mask like Taemin’s is fixed on his face. Taemin falls against the bed, holds Minho’s hand in both of his, and curls up next to him.

“Batman?” Taemin whispers, his voice hoarse. “BatDad?”

He sniffles a bit, trying to hold back tears. There are several nasty bruises along Minho’s neck, jaw, and face. Taemin closes his eyes and, for a few minutes, just stays curled up next to Minho to listen to his breathing. Then, after a few deep breaths, Taemin opens his eyes and looks back at Minho’s face. He fixes Minho’s hair in the same way Minho always does for him. He smooths down the flyaways and tucks the longer pieces behind his ears. Then he puts one hand gently on Minho’s shoulder while the other still holds his hand. And he starts repeating passages from The Little Prince he has memorized, not caring if anyone else is listening, not even thinking about it. Because Minho does that for him when he’s hurt, when he’s not feeling well, and it’s Taemin’s turn to make Minho feel better.

“No,” said the Little Prince, “I’m looking for friends. What does tamed mean?”

“It’s something that’s been too often neglected. It means, ‘to create ties’...”

“‘To create ties’?”

“That’s right,” the fox said. “For me you’re only a little boy just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you. And you have no need of me, either. For I’m only a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, we’ll need each other. You’ll be the only boy in the world for me. I’ll be the only fox in the world for you...”

Taemin wipes at his eyes a bit, and he continues reciting passages in a soft, shaking voice. They’re not necessarily in order, and they’re a little choppy, but the point is still the same. It’s to comfort Minho, Taemin thinks. Even if it really is more so to comfort himself.

When Minho wakes up a few hours later, and Taemin is sleepily still mumbling about foxes and roses and little princes, he laughs a bit. It clearly hurts him a bit, and he winces, and Taemin sits up and gasps.

“Mmmm,” he was about to say Minho’s name, but caught himself and hummed instead. “BatDad? Are you okay?”

“Robin,” Minho gasps, but then smiles. “I’m okay. Have you been reading to me?”

“No,” Taemin whispers, lowering back down into the bed. “I don’t have the book. Was just saying the story to you.”

“Thank you,” Minho whispers, putting a hand in Taemin’s cheek to pat it. “I’m sorry if I scared you.”

Taemin only whines and hides his face.

“Do you want me to get Superman?” Taemin asks.

“Could you, please?” Minho asks.

Taemin doesn’t have to - Superman and a couple others come in just them to check on him. They were obviously listening in, but Taemin didn’t say anything.

Taemin stays curled up on Minho’s bed the next two days, not leaving his side. He stays, continuing to tell him the story of The Little Prince. It helps them both, even if it makes everyone else sad to watch.

Giorgio Petrosyan vs Superbon - ONE Championship: First Strike (Oct. 15) - Two of the P4P best kickboxers on the planet face off in a 5 round kickboxing match for the vacant ONE Featherweight Kickboxing title? I mean, nothing could possibly top this.

Sitthichai vs Tayfun Özcan - ONE Championship: First Strike (Oct. 15) - ONE put together another featherweight kickboxing grand prix and it’s so good we’re getting Sittichai vs Ozcan in the very first round. That’s just too good.

Petr Yan vs Cory Sandhagen - UFC 267 (Oct. 30) - A replacement fight but a damn good one. Sandhagen is a fantastic fighter that can replicate some of the things Aljo did to have early success against Yan. But can he do it over 5 rounds? Excited to find out.

Enriko Kehl vs Davit Kiria - ONE Championship: First Strike (Oct. 15) - Basically see #3! That tournament is STACKED.

Saemapetch vs Tawanchai - ONE Championship: First Strike (Oct. 15) - Tawanchai is considered one of the P4P best in Muay Thai and Saemapetch is always a treat. Just one part of an immensely stacked card.

Mackenzie Dern vs. Marina Rodriguez - UFC Fight Night (Oct. 9) - The pure chaos of grappler vs striker is lit in this one. Dern has made it to this point in her career by being a dedicated grappler who can take a punch. Rodriguez has made it this far by being a wildly dangerous striker who can get takendown but has yet to be submitted. One of these things has to give here and that is compelling enough for me.

Jan Błachowicz vs. Glover Teixeira - UFC 267 (Oct. 30) - Some people may be surprised this one isn’t higher but my fear is this Glover fight is going to be like every Glover fight on his recent streak, where Glover gets the crap beat out of him til the other guy gets tired. Except I don’t think Jan will fall into that trap and instead it’s going to be a slow destruction of Glover. Hope I’m wrong but that’s why it’s not higher.

Chantelle Cameron vs Mary McGee - Oct. 30 - The IBF and WBC super lightweight titles are on the line as Hearn works to have one unified champ. Cameron, the UK’s best boxer, returns to action after injury and long suffering American Mary McGee gets the biggest stage she’s ever had in her long career. What’s not to love about this one!

Rico Verhoeven vs Alistair Overeem -  Glory: Collision 3 (Oct. 23) - I don’t know what I’m expecting from this one but I want to see two dudes with action figure physiques who are clearly on that horse meat trade punches until one of them collapses under the size of their own bulk, probably Overeem. Since it’s heavyweight, I’m also expecting some shenanigans so that should be fun. 

Amanda Ribas vs. Virna Jandiroba - UFC 267 - I still believe in Amanda Ribas as a prospect at strawweight. Looked good against Rodriguez before getting KOed. Jandiroba just had her best performance against Murata following a loss to Dern. I’m expecting something special from this one as both women have something to prove.

Other notables: Magomed Magomedkerimov vs Ray Cooper 2; Douglas Lima vs Michael Page 2; Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jnr; Jamel Herring vs Shakur Stevenson; Savannah Marshall vs Lolita Muzeya; Islam Makhachev vs. Rafael dos Anjos; and Bruno Cappelozza vs Ante Delija
