Whenever I see people who hate Digimon try to roast the series, saying, "It's for kids, and it's not like other anime that talk about serious stuff," I'm always so baffled. Did you people forget when Digimon Adventure talked about the severity of Yamato and Takeru's parents' divorce and how that impacted them?

Or the complicated relationship Sora had with her mother through Adventure? The minor implications of Our War Game when Taichi and Hikari were small children, and their dad came home drunk?

How about coming from a family that expects you to have your career figured out like Joe and not really considering his feelings when he talked about how it felt like to be the oldest of the chosen children.

Koushiro's backstory is that his parents had to tell him that he was adopted and that there was a car accident that killed his biological parents and his adoptive parent's child???

Heck, even in Digimon Adventure 02, Ken's survival guilt over his older brother's passing is pretty serious, and it goes against the whole "Digimon is just for kids" argument.

It's cool if you don't enjoy Digimon, but to act like the series itself doesn't touch on serious issues that can relate to not just kids but adults today is wild.

M E: (*TAKES DEEP BREATH*) Someone: Hey, why do you ship something so unusual, you know it'll never be canon righ--- m E: YES, I love TAKEMIYA aka MIYAKERU, I GET IT OK, I love TAKEMIYA, TAKEMIYA is a Brightest F*cking Starshine CRACK-SHIP aka RARE PAIR in My Life since my childhood days in this fan base, I f*cking ADORE THEM (+UNTIL THE END OF TIME AND WHEN THIS SERIES IS TRULY 'OVER'), YES okay y E S, I love TAKEMIYA, I DO also love Takeru and Miyako SEPARATELY, but I also love them TOGETHER, HOW many times are We Gonna Go Through This, I F*CKING LOVE TAKEMIYA BECAUSE WHEN I WAS YOUNG ME I WROTE THEM INTO AN 02 O.C.s based fic once AND I NEVER GOT OVER THEM AND THIS WAS BEFORE I EVEN GOT TO SEE THE 02 FINALE, yes I KNOW what happens in it, I do NOT dismiss that ship, in fact, if anything, I think it makes Take+Miya even more hilarious when you involve poly-ship dynamics and Shenanigans involving that character AND others, anyway all you need to know about the Take+Miya I once wrote is they initially act like the "Love-Love {Rabu-Rabu} couple" trainer class in that other Monster battling franchise after temporarily getting together during in-between years or just like any of the generally mushy battle duos and it confuses the f*ck out of EVERYONE else how they even came to form that dynamic and its HILARIOUS, meanwhile once amicably broken up with Takeru on good terms Miyako is making eyes at a certain Someone Else from afar in between and that person is just like only partly Oblivious all the way up until "The Beginning" era and possibly a little beyond, meanwhile Takeru is realizing Takeru's Very Not Over Miyako but then Takeru's also having OTHER Realizations about Self-
