why tang qi has been a traumatised victim so far in the first 10-12 episodes of filter ( hopefully it stops soon but I think it'll go on for a lot more episodes)

Also if you noticed there has been no villain in this drama so far its just fl being a villain in tang qi's life lol. she is the trauma.

First off they misunderstood him so badly all the time..literally the only wrong thing he did was answering her question about why he took the photo very truthfully lol Man is a makeup developer or research or something..so he saw her messed makeup and wanted to make sure his products fix that issue..so he asked for her permission and then took..she asked why.. he said it looked bad rip ( man could have said it better ) but he wasn't calling her ugly? he was saying the makeup was bad( which it was she smudged it and became worse than a clown look) he didn't do it to her? ( later she gets revenge by making him do it to himself and post a video what a bully) Then after that they just misunderstood him for everything. They thought he liked Su Miao because she is pretty ( wrong I don't like su miao and she is pretty yes but she is mean) He actually liked her because she saved a kid and all.. he hadn't even seen her face he was standing behind her, plus his eye condition which they only reveal later.

and then she sleeps in his bed lmao ( she dropped the poor dude on the floor btw both drunk she got him home after banging him onto the wall and stuff ( thats by mistake ig but yeah she threw him on the floor then and got onto his bed herself and slept) dude woke up midway and just changed and got onto his bed and slept and woke up to Su Miao leaving his house in the morning lol ( now what is he supposed to think lol that she also likes him) he calls to ask her about it but she ignores and ignores and ignores another time she hugs him to switch off the light ( fromhis pov she just hugging him in a dark room man) and then she knocks him out and runs ( bruh he must be so so confused)anyways more painful stuff for him and then finally..

her genius solution is to fake Su Miao's death in front of him ( the poor man saved her twice without caring about his safety) then finally she used lightening to do it ( his eyes very very sensitive he fainted and was sick then his eyes had to heal) and she gave him trauma of losing his loved one right in front of him ( thats so evil of her)

does it end there? nooo another look another day of tang qi falling for her.. I'm sure she going to start faking all the deaths and traumatise him so badly.

I don't know how he is going to fall in love with her after all she has done and will do...

thanks for reading I needed to rant for my sanity . this was getting to me.

finished filter and it might be my favourite cdrama i've watched yet. possibly one of my favourite asian dramas i've watched as a whole? the dynamics between the characters feel so refreshing and fun and unique and the premise was actually really well executed! the characters are believably flawed. i think the second leads were one of my favourite parts bc their chemistry and the dynamic between them was adorable, but i loved the main leads after they got over the miscommunication drama and finally saw each other for real.

i personally quite like that we got those last couple eps to see them - and esp chengcheng - be happy and fulfilled in her relationships and friendships and her career. such a stark difference from where we first met her and it's so nice to see her in such a positive place 😭 i think my main complaint would be i wish we got to learn more about tang qi's background. i feel like we learned more abt gu yu's childhood than we did tang qi - would've been nice to learn a bit more abt him bc the most we rlly learned unless i'm missing smth was "he was popular in school & he has an eye condition"

Filter - Cdrama Review

Hey yo! I am finally back in cdrama land after a long hiatus. These days I find it hard to focus on anything longer than 2 minutes.

BUT I came across a video on TikTok showing the behind the scene of Filter and it seems like a fun time. And indeed it was!

Filter is a fun drama about Su Cheng Cheng who work in a cosmetic company under the marketing department. Unfortunately, Su Cheng Cheng’s look does fit society’s beauty standards. There she meets Tang Qi, her former schoolmate that she has a crush on. Due to a misunderstanding, she thinks that Tang Qi is very shallow and only cares about looks. This devastates Cheng Cheng. After a very embarrassing school reunion, a street vendor gave her a jade bracelet that has the technology to apply filter to herself. She’s able to change to different looks, ones that are much attractive than herself! 

Filter is a drama about self esteem and self acceptance. Filter addresses the harsh beauty standards society have impose on people. But mix in magic and a whole bunch of humour! 

I personally really enjoyed this drama. The humour is right by my alley and it doesn’t feel too comical and ridiculous.

Su Cheng Cheng is played by Landy Li who I find so beautiful! The drama had a hard time convincing me that she’s not attractive. Landy Li’s comedic timing and her gestures are not awkward at all. Su Cheng Cheng as a character isn’t annoying although she keeps getting herself into trouble due to the filter. She’s strong, like super strong and very independent. She is accepting of her looks and does not wallow in self pity. 

Tang Qi is played by the handsome Tan Jian Ci who I first watch on Lost Your Forever. Although he has this aloof look to him, his comedic gestures don’t seem out of place or forced! Tang Qi is a character that took a while for me to get into. I think the drama purposely make us misunderstand him, just like Cheng Cheng did. But the more we find out about Tang Qi and the reasons for his words and actions, he gain a space in my heart. By the end of it, he is truly just a loser in love. 

The main selling point of this drama is their Cheng Cheng and Tang Qi romance progression. When they finally see eye to eye and understand each other, their relationship is unbeatable. This is truly enemies to friends to lovers trope. 

However I need to mention that the person that stole the show for me is Cheng Cheng’s best friend Lin Yuan. She is a fiercely loyal friend who is not afraid to stand up for Cheng Cheng and is always there for her. But we also get to see her own personal life. Lin Yuan is a successful webtoon artist who is very conventionally attractive. And not to mention her own love story with Gu Yu is so sweet, I didn’t skip any of their scenes together. 

Ultimately, this drama is pretty much a stress free drama with conflicts being resolved fairly quickly. There is no evil parents, no childhood traumas and especially NO annoying second leads trying to break the main couple apart. 

If you are looking for a funny cracking time, Filter is one to consider!

Yeah this was so obvious... to us at least.. not to su chengcheng but seriously...she had so many chances to realise but noooo she chose misunderstanding the poor man and causing him trauma. She kept assuming he fell in love with ehr face like BRUH HE DIDN't EVEN SEE THE FACE. Man fell because she saved the kids life..
