This is legit SUCH a hard question TT I love all my characters................

I don't think I have a favorite, but I have a soft spot for Cot since he was one of my first OCs (he wasn't a yandere back then lol)!

Plus Cot is super cute + fun to draw imo :3c

I also adore Aizono for similar reasons! He was a really old OC of mine that came about because I was like... what if the Love God was pining after a mortal?

2. The problematic fave... I mean, they're yanderes so I feel like they're all kind of problematic LOL Ig from my yanderes though, Tynan is probably the most problematic bc he's completely aware of how awful his actions are, he just doesn't care.

He's a man of his own desires, even if he loves Darling haha

3. I feel like I don't give enough attention to a lot of my OCs tbh TT I'm just one measly living organism with way too many OCs lol + I actually have a LOT of OCs I haven't even shared yet!! I love designing characters + writing different prompts so I just end up w a lot of stuff I think.

I do want to revisit my Vampire MILF and DILF though!

4. As for the one I would hate if they weren't mine... I can't really think about it rn! I feel like all my OCs appeal to me in some way for now... who knows, though? Maybe I'll make an OC I heavily dislike in the future LOL

5. In regards to who I'd go ape shit for if they were hurt... I don't really know, honestly. Maybe any of my human OCs? Most of my non-human/monster OCs can handle themselves just fine, but my human ones are (1) a weak guy who's obsessed with you, (2) a sickly guy who's obsessed with you, and (3) a rich crossdresser who's obsessed with you. None of them are strong tbh so they're much more likely to be hurt LOL

Like, no offense to Sammy, the weak guy who's obsessed with you, but he's kind of pathetic LOL

Anyways here's like all the faves who are not strawhats:

Ace

Baby, sweetheart, pretty thing. Always says them in either the most flirty tone imaginable or the softest. Also he's like flirting with you 24/7 it's so bad but he jist can't turn it off around you like he's so down bad. 100% says heinous filthy shit but tacks on a cute nickname at the end to try and make it sound less intense. It does not work.

OBSESSED with you calling him love or my man and finds it ridiculously attractive. The first time it happened he set his bed on fire by accident and you both got lectured by pops :(. But seriously he just loves any and all verbal affirmation so naturally he adores nicknames. Doesn't get shy at all though, if anything reciprocating his chaotic behaviour makes it 10x worse.

Marco

Love/my love. Sweet and simple and he likes how clear it is to other people. He uses it a ridiculous amount though to be honest like you hear it more than your own name, it's to the point where if he says your name people on the ship don't know who he's talking about😭. Oh and he uses baby when he wants to tease you, like he drops his voice real low, leans really close into your space and speaks right next to your ear. Bit of a bastard tbh.

He blushes easily but doesn't shy away, in fact being called a nickname in return really makes him feel confident and puts him in the mood for affection. Though sometimes the nicknames make him feel...too affectionate. One time you called him pretty bird as a joke and he just sorta sat there, face getting gradually redder until you leaned towards him out of concern, at which point he promptly yanked you onto his lap and started what was one of your most intense make outs to date. Yk, casual things.

Thatch

Cutie, sweet thing, pretty thing. So so gentle with you and it reflects in how he speaks to you as well, even if he's upset or angry he still calls you the sweetest things because you're so precious to him. Though he's also a menace, if he finds out you like a specific petname then he starts discretely whispering it in your ear whenever he passes you to wind you up. Literally he doesn't care if you're having a serious conversation, he'll just slide in behind you and drop his voice to sound like a nice gravelly tone and purposefully make sure to exhale on the back of your ear to make you shiver.

Oh but he can't handle if you do it back, no this man folds like a lawn chair the second you start calling him anything other than his name.

Izou

Darling, dear, lovely, blossom. So casually smooth its unbelievable, also he starts calling you them before you get together. Like after a certain point of friendship and flirting, he just starts doing and saying the most romantic shit(Definitely thinks you're together before you actually are) and the crew are very confused and you're very confused but as if you're gonna complain yk.

This man gets so flustered when you use nicknames with him because it's not behaviour he's used to. Obviously he's been a pirate for a long time but he's actually very reserved and rarely dates so having someone who genuinely cares about him calling something sweet makes him blush so hard and you use that to your fully advantage. He gets revenge later though don't worry.

Law

Love, lovely, pretty, honey, every flowery pet name you can think of. He's so soft with you. He can't help how sickly affectionate he feels around you and it results in him just calling you all sorts of sweet words. He won't do it in public if he thinks you'll be put in danger or if he doesn't feel comfortable but like in front of the crew and strawhats and stuff he doesn't give a fuck. He'll just come up behind you while you're in the middle of a conversation, hand sliding down your lower back, and say sumthin like "are you okay my love?"

Blushes to high heaven if you call him something cute back, he just melts like butter. If he's in a bad mood or like in an argument or something you only have to come up and say hi love and he's all :///))

Kidd

Babe to the public. My love, gorgeous, pretty baby when you're alone. It's not really that he doesn't want to call you those things in public, he just doesn't want enemies to understand how important you are to him but also he doesn't want to keep your relationship a secret because he's obsessed with you and wants to brag about being yours.

Makes him really cocky if you use petnames with him. Like he'll flush but get so overconfident the second you say love or baby or anything of the sort. He doesn't care where you are either, he's just hauling you into his space immediately so he kiss the fuck out of you.

Okay you KNOW I have complaints (Gilroy treat the women of color right challenge: impossible), but some notes-scribbled-on-back-of-hand favorite things about the final arc of S2:

Cassian and Melshi and Kay playing space poker and giving each other shit and giggling tipsily, 15/10 no notes

Luthen "The ego that started this fight will never have a mirror or an audience or gratitude" Rael's first response when he knows he's caught: "Do you want to know why?" Dedra (and by extension the ISB) does not in fact give a single fuck. The authorial restraint exhibited in writing him a meaningful sendoff but NOT allowing him the what-radicalized-me speech that all evidence suggests he's got in his back pocket. Immaculate characterization, A+ literally killing your darling, A+ not letting your fave run away with the narrative when it's time for the narrative to run away with him.

Relatedly, the smug little arrest theatrics Dedra has clearly been rehearsing and fantasizing about. They both want a main character monologue sooooo bad. Made for each other (evil version) tbh

God help me but I do love a can't-rescue-the-captured-spy-but-can-make-their-death-as-peaceful-as-possible plot point, that whole hospital sequence is so tense and good

@ my past self tweaking Luthen for his theatrics and referring to that sacrifices speech as "his best space king lear audition:" how does it feel to have the gift of prophecy?

Luthen teaching Kleya that cool spies don't look at explosions (before they go off) was a great little spy-story tradecraft bit

Krennic remains an all-time great space fascist for me and Ben Mendelsohn remains a scene-stealer. The way he grabs Dedra by the FACE and shoves her back down into her seat was crazy work

Partagaz also launched himself straight to the top of the villains list. Love that* for him [*fucking around and finding out]

Honestly imo one of the most consistently strong bits of S2 - both in terms of political commentary, and of thematic continuity with Rogue One - is mercilessly drilling down on all the ways the system eats its own. All these guys (& Dedra) think that empire is their pet leopard, that it follows their commands and gives them power. But it was always only ever Palpatine's pet leopard (and it still eats his face in the end!)

I've been having lot of feelings about getting to see Yavin as a physical space where people live and eat and sleep. Even if I do find Cassian's house a bit silly (sorry it looks like a real estate brochure for some kind of treehouse meditation retreat)

Fraught Mon & Saw holocalls are exactly what I ordered from Star Wars I would watch a whole season about that

Draven looking Bail Organa straight in the eye with zero shame and the galaxy's most blandly noncommittal "You could make that case" running cover for the guys he's also completely furious with: there he is! I feel bad saying I have a favorite 😭 because I genuinely love all of them very much (whoever I'm writing for in that moment becomes my favorite if that makes sense). But I will say H had an unfair advantage at first because they're modelled based after two of my Desi characters of all time (Doran and Amala my darlings). But in all honesty, all of the ROs are inspired by my faves one way or another so none of the routes are going to be put at a disadvantage :)

clockwork angel by cassandra clare - LOLLLLLLLLL tbh i just wanted to see what the hype was about. not totally convinced. tried to read the second one couldnt get into it i really don't get the hype. mostly i was convinced by caricanread on yt and her forgot the plot series about the mortal instruments. so like. and i wasn't expecting to fall in Love with it obvs because i am a hater at heart and i didn't like tmi that much when i read it in middle school. and something that has been on my mind just in the back a bit recently is the whole like. and this isn't specific to cassie clare at all but how a lot of the times, the male love interest(s) feel more fully fleshed out/have more fun little quirky details about them than the female mc. like will has all this silly little lore/fandom in jokes that are about him and like the whole idk "cassie clare loves her boys" like okay i can tell. yeahhhh i can tell. very much so. idk tbh i did want to like this story because my absolute favorite kind of story ever and i know i said this before in my last post about crescent city but my fav story ever is the stories that are told, and then the stories that came before it are also told. like i wanna know the present. and then i wanna know the cause. the LORE. AUGH THATS ALL I WANT. and so a story like this where each kind of. time period has its own story but they are all connected to each other through generations like i do in fact eat that shit up. but this really did not capture me at all tbh.

evocation by s. t. gibson - cover is sick tbh thats why i picked it up mostly and the story was fun s. t. gibson usually hits. although i think a dowry of blood will always be my fave just bc of the narrator lol

the actual star by monica byrne - this was weird one. not sure how i feel about it. the different povs were interesting and i liked this fun look into the past and future. however with the way that the future people's pov made it seem the date that they were all leading up to was going to be way more impactful than it ended up being as in like a. it was anticlimactic is what im saying. tbh i did not really care about any of the characters actually that's not true i was interested in how the story played out. but ehhhhhhhhh. idk

the tainted cup by robert jackson bennett - okay THIS one i absolutely understand the hype ohhhkjlrmfdlkmewlkfmrklrmgeklf ohh my god i was in fact on the edge of my seat the whole time. im a sucker for dynamics like this and well the introduction to this world really did get me. weird plant magic? magically/biologically experimented on/enhanced people? SEA LEVIATHANS ?????? girl this book was made for me. and the characters did really bring it together as well. the intelligence of ana and how the story was crafted well i did really like it and it did make sense. so extremely excited about this series

arch-conspirator by veronica roth - i love antigone mostly because i was part of my high schools production of antigone now and that was such a good ass time. and this sci fi dystopian take on it was really cool. didn't capture me as much as when among crows did but i think it did it's job and i enjoyed it a lot.

into the riverlands by nghi vo - another banger. not as warm and fuzzy as the others in the series but i liked it and the new characters we met. excited to read the next one !

foundryside by robert jackson bennett - the tainted cup changed me in fundamental ways so i started this series bc it is finished and well yeah the cover is cool. i didn't like it as much as the tainted cup but sancia as a character is like my everything. love her she's awesome and badass and a matter of fact and she's scared. a lot of the time. which makes sense obviously. and i do like the key thing and again that whole experimenting on humans and while this wasn't specifically a lab setting the aspects are still there and still evil i do want to see where this series goes ! esp with the lore around occidentals. and sancia of course.

a drop of corruption by robert jackson bennett !!! i saw that my library had this and well even tho i had just started another series of this i did have a NEED. for more of this series and this one the vibes were for sure different but i did really like the change of scenery like i was wary at first because the threat of the leviathans in the first book is so present everywhere bc of the setting, while in this second one it's not there really at all. however. LEARNING MORE ABOUT THE LEVIATHANS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yessss thats what i want. in the first book when it looked like one of them tried to talk well that wasn't answered in this one but oughgbhbgjdvndkfjnc i need more info. i wanna know more about that specifically. oh and din my disaster bisexual my boy i love you. and ana calling out his bullshit well i do love her too. i wanna find out more about her too like what is up with that. more experiments. lots of experiments going on in my life these days big fan.

iron widow (reread) and heavenly tyrant by xiran jay zhao - !!!!! fun. crazy. bonkers insane. i've never seen pacific rim but i feel like this is true to how it is fr fr. i could tell the author was having fun with this one which is awesome. did we go off the rails a bit at the end..... yeah...... did i like our illustrious emperor. no not at all really. but he was funny to read about. little bitch. and well did i miss our phoenix.... yeah.... but i had fun with the story. not itching for the next book but i will be reading it when it comes out probably.

water moon by samantha sotto yambao - Loved this. lived up to whatever hype it was getting and then some. on the edge of my seat just waiting for the characters to discover something new next. such a whimsical and magical world i loved it... definitely want to read more of this authors work.

daughter of the moon goddess by sue lynn tan - a fun and wild ride loved the folklore magical mystical feeling of it. tbh i was consumed by it and the beauty of the world and i liked how while the mc didnt really know what was going on the whole time she knew how to get what she wanted. deffo will be reading the second one

okay and onto the 2 most recent books i read probably going to become one of if not my favorite series of the year - legendborn and bloodmarked by tracy deonn !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AUGHGH. OUCH. AEOFROEIFJOERJFOERMFKM. bree is my favorite character let me make that clear. god i love her so much and like i really do connect with her. the way she feels guilt and shame so powerfully but pushes through anyway, how it does affect her so much, but keeps working at what she wants and protecting the people she loves is,,,,, really inspiring to me. like obviously. my and my loved ones lives are not in danger the way her's are. and well i really do not have a thousands year old legacy invading my brain. however. well to avoid being crazy 3 minutes before i need to leave for work i'll leave it at that. ough her relationship with nick is everything to me. seeing how he immediately cared for her, Not in an instalove way, at all. was really nice. just really really nice. not only because a lot of young Black girl readers feel seen by this and how lovely and refreshing it is to see a young Black girl feel so easily loved and cherished - tracy's words, but also because ifl a lot of books these days aren't doing the whole enemies to lovers thing, but there also not, Not doing that. water moon was like this too. the just surety of trust and the whole call and response OAUHG. and well i am in fact a selbreenick truther i do think that if i had to pick one, i would pick nick. easily. sorry sel. i just think its refreshing. god. i have so many more thoughts but there mostly just BRRRR right now around in my brain so i will refrain from saying more. can't wait to read oathmarked and thus feel the agonies of waiting for the next book.

Being a willing darling just makes thing easier. You're definitely an enabler for Mikey's dark impulses, but at least he never feels the need to take it out on you.

If you're a willing darling in Tokyo Manji Gang, then you're his wifey, his ol' ball and chain. He's pretty lax with you and while he is certainly possessive and constantly demanding your attention he's not going out of his way to make your life a living hell. He doesn't like your friends, but he lets you keep them around. he hates others talking or looking at you but he knows you need the interaction. Just respond to his 100+ messages a day and give him constant attention and you'll be fine.

I came across your Rolex watch store worker gojo and Victoria secret worker reader fic and ooop🤭 it was sooooo cute! I definitely pictured both gojo and reader like early 20s at the mall, young lovers type of thing. Gojo has mad confidence to just walk over there and flirt, hit on her, and then have sex with her in less then an hour😭 my jaw actually dropped when they were doing it inside the VS fitting room, I was so worried someone was gonna hear them and they'd get fire or something 😭😭. Also reader using the wrong ladder and changing the mannequin in front of everyone is totally something I would do, I'd be so embarrassed if another worker told me😂

Reader and gojo were also really funny, when Gojo went to bother her and her co-worker saw and was like "is he bothering you?" And reader didn't even hesitate to say yeah, and then gojo had to fight for his life with the security to let him go, LMAOO I was laughing for good few minuets.

I feel like you portrayed Gojos goofy side really well! If JJK was written in a different au, I definitely see Gojo being the type to bother all the costumers and co workers, seeing as he already does that in Canon LMAO.

And at the end when he took reader to look at the watches, how much time had passed? Reader said it had been a few months, and Gojo seemed like he was starting to fall for her or was already really into her 👀🤭😏 him saying he'd buy her the watch and give up his computer, him getting jealous when geto hit on her, and then him saying she looked pretty with that watch 👀

Also were they just doing it at work or have they met up outside of work to hang out (or do other things)? ?

I'm trying to write more after a few years of a dry spell and digging into the 'Why' of why I'm not writing as much, and a big one I'm facing is a complex mix of guilt and shame that I've been praised a lot for having a very strong, terse style that will have longer descriptions but will always come back around to short, gut-punchy lines.

And at some point I think this writing style turned from being confident in my writing and knowing who I am as an author into a source of insecurity. I'll still write thousands of words in barely edited ADHD discord rambles or Tumblr meta posts, but when I turn to trying to produce anything more polished I am now hyper-aware of my style, and how much people have commented on its 'uniqueness' when its influences feel so very obvious to me? So my writing the last few years has lived and died in my drafts, feeling stilted, awkward, and stiff, or even more often has failed to make it past the brain to keyboard barrier.

I am incapable of writing the long, flowing epics I adore from so many of my friends, and over and over again my works shape themselves into highly crafted and pretentious (/neutral, intentionally telling myself over and over again this is neutral...) short stories instead.

And as the years continue I think I am aware we are all just a collection of our influences, but then I am the same half a dozen 20th century white men (a gender thought to unpack another day)

I ran a couple pieces I've gotten the most of this praise / feedback on through the newest version of 'i write like' and didn't get either Asimov (phew honestly, my love) or Vonnegut though. I got Cory Doctorow (whom I've never read so I cannot tell if this is good but it sounds correct for the story) and H.G. Wells which was also correct for the story and whom I grew up on. I tend to stylize as I write so both were heavy about the scientific method but 'about the direct clarity, accessibility and succinctness of the message' which sounds like my technical writing not literary stuff tbh. Also stuff about 'driving the story forward', I also have issues around the fact I prefer to write in present tense which seems not to be the preference, do they do this too? Is this some autistic science bro tech writer Sci Fi brain thing I wired myself with at a tiny age?

I think some of it is that I am fine with being Cringe & Pretentious if it feels Authentic to myself, but I am unable to reconcile that with the fact that it also feels like I am just Subconsciously Trying to Be Like My Faves. Which is ridiculous when you look at the fact my favorite narratives are all about eternal recurrence, being haunted by the narrative, humanity's patterns repeating themselves over and over again. I need some pithy narrative to remind myself that I am being hypocritical when I hold myself against this.

Yes, I write the weird, fucked up meta short stories just like the stories that most impacted me at the most pivotal times in my life. Big shocker, I'm throwing in my biggest kinks and they also say things about me as well when scrutinized. All writing is a mirror and self-reflection. All stories are the same story branching off the same Ur-Story told around a cave fire at various points.

What is fanfiction's italicized: Oh. Oh.

But an echo on Vonnegut's: So It Goes.

A person falls in love. A person dies. The story repeats again. I hate the phrase 'Kill Your Darlings'. The ghost of Truman Capote smokes a cigarette over my shoulder and reminds me to remove every unnecessary word.

Overrated:

Culinary crimes/food videos. I don't like em cause I genually don't understand them. One because of my English vocabulary (English is not my 1st language), I didn't save much eng food words. Two cause they'll go "oh my god this tastes like the buca di beppo sauce!!" and I'm like "idk how that tastes like...yea I guess?" There's a cultural gap of sorts between me food content

Slightly Overrated:

Board games. Listen, I LOOOVE werewolf, I love the psychic one with the weel, but a 40 min videos of "this or that" or almost 50 minutes of charts is too much.

Slightly Underrated

Smosh mouth. I feel the shaymanda podcast is a lil overshadowed by the ianthony one and it's only remembered either when the darlings of Tumblr are there (Angela, Damien, Spencer) or the fave ships are there (amangela and shourtney). I love smosh mouth so much

Underrated

Videogames. PLEASE LET THEM PLAY VIDEOGAMES MORE!! Let Amanda play slenderman, Tommy play minecraft with pokemon, let Shayne and Damien play some coop game, but please, let them play videogames

Culinary crimes is overrated? If you asked me, I would think most people would think it’s underrated. But tbh I don’t get the food shows neither, not bc of cultural differences since I’m American (unfortunately) but mainly bc cooking/food isn’t really my cup of tea. I guess I relate tho in a way since my go to foods is pasta, pasta, and uhhh… pasta. So when they start talking about certain spices or foods or something of mere complexity, I can’t relate.

I wouldn’t really say board games are overrated as a whole, but werewolf definitely is. I just can’t with those videos, I appreciate them slightly changing it up a bit but every time they post one, I just sigh.

Smosh mouth I’d say has a decent fan base but it could always be appreciated more. The ianthony one tho I don’t think over-shines shaymanda, I feel like no one really talks about flashback/lunchtime that much comparatively. Tho, you’re right about smosh mouth being most talked about when specific guests are on.

And for video games, I personally prefer the board games. The real games are cool and all but I think I only like them when there are more than 2 people playing. I’m not really a fan of the types of videos with a pair of cast playing something, I’m sorry but that includes the fnaf vids. Idk I just think the more, the merrier when it comes to smosh. I love when it’s a full packed cast, but not too much of course, ideally maybe 5 in one vid. 3-4 depends on who’s in it, and 1-2 is kinda boring to me, even if it’s a member or 2 I really like.
