"Fairytales don't tell children that dragons exist.
Children already know that dragons exist.
Fairytales tell children that dragons can be killed."
G.K. Chesterton.

Down at the walking track -
Tumblr media
Gosh, I haven’t been here for quite a while. Came down after lunch move around a bit.
Not a real big crowd here. A lot of times it is real busy at around 9:00 am.
Tumblr media
There was a guy in here trying to teach his young sons some points about basketball. It was good to see that.
It’s a very quiet Friday so far.

I’m scared…
I’m scared to be a woman and meet the men we see on the news and the ones who hide from view.
The ones who hurt us because we reject them.
The ones who won’t take no for an answer.
The ones who don’t let us have control over ourselves
A man reblogged a post I made not too long ago. He belittled me, calling me a whore and a mad bitch all because I stated my option and my beliefs.
I said that I can wear whatever I like and a man should still have to respect me, because my outfit is not an invitation to view me as an object or in a sexual light.
He yelled at me. Said that if I wanted a man to engage with me intellectually, I shouldn’t be walk around with my pvssy out.
I never claimed I did that, nor implied it.
He then yelled at me saying women need to earn the right to be respected. Almost directly after saying that all women do is complain about the world and don’t even try to change it for themselves. Who do you think set our world up like that? The very same people who think they don’t have to respect women.
He said so much stuff that I could report him for harassing a minor.
I am scared.
I don’t want to be killed over a simple ‘no’
I don’t want to be r@ped because I wore a pair of shorts.
I don’t want to live in fear every day just because I was born with a uterus.
Don’t I deserve to be happy? To live everyday loud and proud because I know I will live to see the next day?
I am sixteen and scared for my life. For my body. And for all other women out there.
I want to live in a world where nobody is hurt. Where women are listened to. Where people who do bad things face consequences.
Teach your boys to respect everyone.
Teach your girls to protect themselves.
Teach everyone to treat the world with kindness and respect. It’s not that hard.
Please.

Stills, Nash & Dawes Play “Teach Your Children” at FireAid
- “We’ll cherish this forever,” Dawes says
It was a little rough, but Dawes will never forget “stepping into shoes impossible to fill” at the FireAid concert in Los Angeles.
The Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith-fronted band backed Stephen Stills and Graham Nash as the pair performed “Teach Your Children” during the Jan. 30 benefit show. The late David Crosby was obviously unavailable and Neil Young didn’t show for Stills and Nash’s first collaboration in a decade, though he recently played with Stills.
A little under-rehearsed and suffering from Dawes’ failed attempt to add high harmony with shrill falsetto, “Children” was nevertheless a heartwarming moment for musical and human reasons as Nash implored the audience to: “Take care of yourselves. Take care of one another.”
Dawes were simply gobsmacked, writing on social media: “15-year-old Taylor and Griff would have never believed this was possible. … We’ll cherish this forever.”

Imagine the moment a parent sits down with their child, my Hebrew 1 workbook open, and together they begin to explore the beautiful world of letters.
The child's eyes widen with wonder as they trace their first aleph, and the parent smiles, knowing they're passing down a timeless tradition. It's more than just learning an alphabet—it's connecting generations, sharing culture, and sparking a lifelong love for language.
Every letter learned is a step closer to understanding, to belonging, to embracing a rich heritage. What a gift to give, and what a journey to start together. 🌟
I am beyond blessed to know I am a part of so many of these stories. For any age learner. ❤️
Thank you for sharing these pictures and moments with me. It fuels my passion.

Authority vs. Conscience...
I heard this story once about a teacher who took a fish out of its bowl & left a classroom of children as it flopped around.. telling them that if anyone left their seat, they would be expelled. All of the children sat and watched as this fish flopped gasping for air, not wanting to get up in order to avoid getting in trouble. Finally, a girl sprang up from her seat & ran to the fish, placing it back in the bowl. Ultimately, she was the only one who refused to watch the fish die.
When the teacher returned he told the class that this was a lesson. That the fear of getting in trouble should never stop you from doing what's right. That sometimes.. you may have to oppose authority & group think, simply because it's the right thing to do.
I think of this often. U.N. Owen
