Los pensamientos mismos son extraños (lo sabría, ha podido leer la mente de la gente casi toda su vida). En su mayoría palabras que rebotan de un lado a otro, ideas que se forman y se deshacen con casi la misma rapidez.

A veces vienen con imágenes vagas, como dibujos amorfos que pasan demasiado rápido para que Dani pueda intentar darles sentido, apenas una idea a medio formar la mayor parte del tiempo. A menos que sea un pensamiento recurrente, es realmente difícil formar una imagen mental lo suficientemente clara para que él pueda descifrar en los pocos momentos que la mente humana puede centrarse en un tema específico antes de ramificarse. Hay tres verdades en el mundo: 1. los pensamientos de la gente son muy ruidosos. 2. A medida que las personas envejecen, se vuelven menos capaces de decir exactamente lo que están pensando, mucho menos de imaginarlo.

3. Pensar en algo y sentirlo no son, en absoluto, lo mismo.

A veces es considerado, mayormente es por algún sentimiento de estar por encima de un pensamiento en particular. Muy rara vez se cruza con alguien que dice exactamente lo que piensa en el momento. Especialmente en un trabajo como el que tiene, donde hay tantas cámaras pendientes de cada palabra que dice, con reporteros ansiosos por clavar sus dientes en su próxima gran primicia al manipular de forma deliberada lo que sea que logren encontrar.

Las palabras de Jorge serían eso, una próxima linea en el periodico que sería olvidada en apenas unas semanas.

Eran solo palabras vacías, palabras que Lorenzo había preparado, como todo lo que dice en una conferencia de prensa, y aún así…

No lo entiende.

¿Por qué Lorenzo pensaría eso?

¿Por qué Lorenzo imaginaría de forma tan vivida el sonido de las campanas de una iglesia? ¿Por qué, en esos pensamientos demasiado nítidos para ser una ocurrencia tardía, estaba el propio Dani con un traje blanco y una sonrisa que no podía reconocer como suya?

Muerde la pajita de su bebida, en partes intrigado y sospechoso. Ahora, escondido en la seguridad de su motorhome y lo suficientemente lejos del ruido del paddock, entiende que una broma como esa para demostrar que ahora se llevan bien no está muy lejos de lo que Jorge normalmente hace, alimentando a las pirañas de los medios.

Desde que lo conoce, no es la primera vez que Jorge piensa en bodas, pero normalmente sus pensamientos siempre están en contra de la simple idea. Retrocediendo ante la simple mención y pasando de ello, como si no fuera más que algo superficial. Algo con lo que no se permite fantasear porque es una distracción.

😺 hello ray dear, i have emerged from the depths of my exam revisions to cast my vote about the pedrenzo soulmate au. (I still haven't read the other long posts but promise I will get back to them later)

All options fit and would make a good fic. But if I HAD to choose, I would consider some type of soul bond. They could also have soulmarks, but the main thing would be that they had a telepathic link between them, that they can use to share feelings and thoughts. It would start out as something they can't control when they are younger and maybe it could fuel tensions between them but as they get older and closer they control the bond better. Think of the angst possibilities (if one of them is hurt the other can feel it, or if one is unconscious the other feels that something is missing) and also the fluff (them having silent conversations in their heads and sharing their joy after a race...).

As always a big hug to you and lots of kisses. And I would read your fic (and freak out about it) regardless of what you choose to put it.

Okay this. THIS?! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS! I have soooo many thoughts rn but I don't wanna keep you from studying too much so I try to keep it short.

I love the emotion thing. No debates. Especially feeling the other missing when they are unconscious. PERFECT. And I actually have a few ideas for you regarding the being able to talk/ hear thoughts with each other over the bond.

1. Version would be that the talking over the bond only starts when they have a more or less established relationship already going on. Kind of as a deeper level caused by them accepting/ being/ acting in love. Which could cause some very fluffy-ansgt scenes like them telling each other I love you pre race under the helmet or asking them over the bond if they are okay after a crash. Actually that's in either version.

2. They can talk (occasionally/ no control) from the beginning and both figure out who their soulmate is. Like they would introduce themself and understand. And the early Pedrenzo (so still hate) days and both kind of shut down after realizing they hate their soulmate and ignore it/ shut the bond down and only their reconsilation they try to pick it back up. Possible source of angst: maybe the years of hate/ ignoring caused damage to their bond?

3. They can from a certain point on, but still during their hate phase talk and one of them, I'd say Jorge clocks that he is soulmates with Dani and to avoid option 3 he lies and pretends to be someone else (still facts about him the same just lies about not being a rider) so he can get closer with Dani or at least make sure he doesn't hate him before coming clean. Maybe Dani finds out too soon (not like Jorge planned) and gets really mad and feels betrayed and played.

ramble away about the hanahaki au (ps what is hanahaki)

FUCK YEAH btw hanahaki is a fictional disease in which the victim coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear.

it's a kinda? uncommon fanfic trope/au and i love it so goddamn much. now i will yap: i was thinking of starting it by how in this au hanahaki is really common, especially among mutants, but typically the plants will shrivel up before anyone even notices it --- as crushes come and go, time passes etc. some intense crushes will cause mild hanahaki (but it will take several years before the affected even starts coughing out petals let alone anything else) and there's medication to "get rid" of the disease, which abates the worst symptoms and kills the flower (and the unrequited love in the process).

dani doesn't realize she's developed hanahaki until she's an adult. for a long time, it's just her coughing up petals after she hangs out with rahne or connects with her through their soulbond, and the longer they are apart the more the symptoms abate and lessen, and dani learns how to manage it, even if she's coughing up petals nearly daily, and then leaves, and then stems, and then whole flowers, but she's fine, it's no big deal, it'll go away!

and so krakoa happens and. now dani is close to rahne and they're hanging out a lot more and cuddling and connecting and all of a sudden her hanahaki goes from "manageable" to "dear god i don't think i should be losing this much blood and throwing up so many flowers" and ofc dani would never admit how bad it's gotten which leads into dani passing out while she's training or goofing off w the NM and just wakes up to them all standing over her and dani rolls over and just pukes blood and a chunk of a rose bush. and everyone is like "WTF???? DANI????" bc they're justifiably concerned bc she never said anything about this before and it looks like her hanahaki has gotten really bad.

and dani's like "everyone okay?" while literally wiping blood from her face and the other NM are like "… are you being fr rn? you literally PASSED OUT we should be asking you that" and afterwards dani gets so infuriated at the new mutants bc they make her go to hank (who tells her in no uncertain terms that this is the worst case of hanahaki he's ever seen, and he's shocked she's even still standing) and then she gets pissed at the NM bc then they start treating her like glass and she's fine can everyone just --- oh. so she just threw up a pile of blood and roses in the middle of the green lagoon. and now everyone is acting weird. god fucking dammit she said she's fine and NO she's not going into the crucible --- resurrection doesn't heal hanahaki anyway, it's seen as an organic similiar to your body, so resurrection wouldn't do anything. Josh helps her keep it at bay a bit more but it's clear she's getting worse and worse and no one can understand why and they're begging dani to "please, just confess, maybe they feel the same, you don't know," but dani refuses. it gets to the point where when she blows up at them after like the 1 millionth unsubtle attempt to pry it out of her she accidentally lets it slip that her crush is a girl which they immediately pounce on to try and figure it out. anyway after all this fucking drama, emma is finally like "holy shit, moonstar, fuck this. i will find out and i will make you confess. you're not going to die of some fucking disease that you can easily solve."

dani still fights it, but emma does not gaf and is an extremely powerful telepath, and she brings herself and a few new mutants into dani's head to try and figure it out.

yeah after surveying a few memories dani appears and kicks all them out.

and she curses them all out for the violation of her privacy and rahne finally breaks down and is like "DINNAE YE WANT TO LIVE???" and dani ends up screaming back "MAYBE I DON'T, RAHNEY!" and after a horrified silence dani bolts. and.

god i yapped a lot... oops. sorry.

Who do you think would've tamed Sunfyre after Aegon's death (Sunfyre lives in this au) i think it would have been Daeron the young dragon or Daena

I think it depends on how injured Sunfyre still is, since while it was his injuries from the battle against Moondancer that ultimately killed him, he was already pretty badly torn up from Rook's Rest (which is why the fact that he still made his way to Dragonstone to find Aegon is so incredibly insane to me that's Love babies), so it's entirely possible that he wouldn't have lived very long even without the second set of injuries as well. If Sunfyre's just regularly healthy and lives after Aegon dies (and again assuming this is a world where the extinction of the dragons doesn't happen because there was definitely something magical involved in that, why the Hell else did Morning only live to age 24 when dragons can live into their hundreds, something went On with that), then Daeron might be a good option, since I view Sunfyre as sharing a lot of characteristics with Daeron. Aemon the Dragonknight would also be a good option, I could see that happening for the aesthetics alone. And I don't know how much Targ blood she has in her or how much that's even required, considering Nettles was able to tame Sheepstealer, but if I get to be fully self indulgent I want Daenaera to claim Sunfyre next. Mostly because she's my angel girl and he's my baby boy and based on the personality I've assigned to Sunfyre I think they would mesh incredibly well.

There's also the real possibility that no one ever claims Sunfyre again. We know that some dragons just don't end up being claimed for a while, like Vermithor, and anyone in the royal family might have been a bit wary of claiming Sunfyre because, well, again depending on how AU this is, Sunfyre killed Aegon III's mother right in front of him and really threw his entire fear and hatred of dragons into overdrive, and if that's your husband/dad you don't want to be triggering his PTSD every single day. Not to mention Sunfyre himself was significantly closer to Aegon than most dragons are to their riders, almost to the level of Dany and her children, and we know that even ordinary dragonbonds can produce strong emotions (Vhagar's grief for Laena and her rage on Aemond's behalf, Dreamfyre nearly breaking out of the Dragonpit when Helaena died). So when you add that to the fact that Sunfyre and Aegon were definitely closer than the average dragon and dragonrider (and in my head they're basically so incredibly connected and loving to each other it's borderline mystical/telepathic), Sunfyre just wouldn't accept another rider after Aegon, he's too upset and grieved and he doesn't want anyone else, he won't entertain the idea or let anyone try.

Yay! Finally someone who will! I've been thinking a lot of this weird AU where theyre at the X school, tell me what you think! Prompt: Starting at the end of the movie, the gang finds themselves at the school for mutants. Sam & reader (name doesnt matter!) have a hard time fitting in/adjusting at the school and find themselves getting closer and closer, until they finally become an item!

it’s the only think you can really think of.

Panic isnt right for the scenario.

And fear sounds to dramatic.

But your very nervous of this new Mutant school.

And that sounds correct.

Sam stands besides you, holding your hand in support.

You blush and look away. He doesn’t know you like him.

Shame.

Shame on you.

You want to feel excited that he’s holding your hand. It feels warm against your sweaty palm.

But you’ve seen him with Illyana. And are convinced he likes her.

“Hey Luke!” Roberto calls out.

You look over.

“That one metal guy asked for our last names. What’s yours?”

Truth be told, you’ve never told them your last name. You never wanted to. It was best to remain inconspicuous. Tell the least amount of information.

It was best.

“O is fine Berto.” You speak in your Yorkshire accent.

“Luke. O,” Illy states drily, “Wow I feel like I know you so much now.”

“Illy,” Sam mutters protectively. Him and Dani are the only ones brave enough to really say anything to her.

The Russian just rolls her eyes in response. Dani leans in, whispering something no one can hear.

Illy nods. But does nothing else.

“Shall we go’n now?” You ask.

Everyone nods but illy. Who instead pulls out Lockheed. Holding him close.

You think you understand. Lockheed was her comfort, her security. Something you wish you had right now.

Everyone walks in. But no one is at ease.  The place is large. Filled with people bustling around. A guy with green skin nearly bumps into you, but Sam pulls you out of the way in time.

“Thanks,” you blush, “Uh, thanks.”

“Course.” He nods.

This blonde woman walks over. Briefly glowing blue. She blinks a few times and they dim to normal.

“Hello,” she introduces, “I’m Esme. Some call me Cuckoo, others stepford. But you can call me Frost.”

The others look at her apprehensively.

The blonde shrugs, “Esmes cool too.”

Her eyes glow once again.

“Ugh, be quiet!” She snaps.

You flinch backwards, and Esme offers a apologetic smile.

“Sorry,” she reaches up a pale finger, tapping it once against her mind, “Sisters.”

The woman doesn’t offer any more words then that. So you nod uneasily.

She starts to walk forward, and everyone looks at each other before following.

“We have a lot of cool things here,” the mutant starts talking, “Thermal rooms for Berto to flame in. Chains and gear outside for Sam. Courses for Rahne to run, and even something for Dani!”

Esme abruptly stops. You nearly crash into her if it wasn’t for Sam.

“How do you know who’s who?” Dani questions nervously.

She turns around, staring at everyone with intently piercing eyes.

“I know things. Now,” she swivels her head to glance at you and Illyana, “Your thoughts are unexplainable. I should say unhelpful. You, Luke, are thinking to hard.”

You blush. But you don’t know why.

The eyes trail to stare at Illy.

“And your having a conversation with no one?”

The Russian glares.

“Not true. I’m having one with Lockheed!”

Esme looks confused, “Where is he.”

Illy blushes, but holds up the puppet for her to observe.

You notice Dani grabbing her free hand. Rubbing her thumb over her knuckles soothingly.

Esme blinks, and then they glow again.

“Ah. He’s your friend. Back in limbo.”

Illy jerks, “How do you know that.”

The woman smiles, “All in a telepaths work.”

Everyone takes a subtle step back. So that’s why she walked in front of them. So they couldn’t see her eyes.

You immediately try and think of nothing, but somehow think of Sam instead. Esme looks at you with curiosity, but thankfully says nothing.

Her eyes glow again, momentarily making her face blank and stony.

“Oh.”

She looks embarrassed almost, “Um. I just received word that you aren’t needed at the main office yet. Your free to explore. Just don’t break anything.”

You look at her, trying to find an earpiece of some kind. She notices you and raises her eyebrow defensively.

Esme then turns around and leaves, whispering “Sophie! Phoebe! Shut up!” On her way out.

“Uh,” you turn back to your group, only to find them all gone except Sam, “Thanks for staying.”

He nods, “I wouldn’t leave you.”

You blush again. And look away.

The day goes on. As you and Sam struggle to find something that works for you. Roberto was psyched at being given clothes that don’t burn when he flames up. Rahne loved the obstacle course. And Dani was interested in practicing her powers.

Illy hadn’t said anything. Just gnawed on her thumbnail and talked to Lockheed.

You and Sam had tried to find the chain thing outside. But their was too many people. And it made Sam feel claustrophobic.

“I feel like we don’t belong here.” You confess later on.

He looks at you understandingly, “I get what you mean. Though I don’t think Illy likes it either.”

You roll your eyes, “She doesn’t like anything.”

“Hey,” he snaps quietly, “She has reasons not to like things.”

You nod, “Sorry. I forget.”

He looks at you. His kind eyes making you blush.

“Why do you do that?”

“H-huh?”

“Why do you blush around me.” He wonders.

“I-um,” you falter, “I k-Kinda like you.”

He doesn’t respond and you immediately get up to leave.

“Wait!” He grabs your wrist, spinning you around.

You don’t have time to process anything before he kisses you, his lips surprisingly soft.

So it was recently pointed out to me (via reading someone else's tags lol) that there's only one DP/Merlin crossover on FFN (well, there's 3 but the other two are not in English). Sooo... since you're the queen of crossovers (imo), what would your take be on a DP/Merlin crossover?

I can easily tell you how I’d start a DP/Merlin crossover. Because that’s actually in my giant file of fic ideas. Here you go:

Danny could end up in Merlin’s world after touchingsomething in Clockwork’s tower. He goes to ask about Dani’s whereabouts,feeling guilty for not seeking her out and worrying about her, wanting toreassure himself that she is still safe, that the Ecto-Dejecto worked, thatVlad isn’t after her and that she is in no danger of destabilizing. Clockwork gives him a look. “Do you think I keep track of everyone’swhereabouts?”“Actually? Yeah.” Danny shifted on his feet. “I mean, you watcheverything, right? So even if you don’t keep track of certain people, you couldfind them.” He paused, waiting for some sort of confirmation fromClockwork. When he received none, he ventured, “Right?”This time, he was rewarded with a small smile. “It is possible.”“So you’ll help me find her?”There was a beat of silence.  Then, “And what if she does not want to befound?”Oh. Danny swallowed. “Then I won’t look, I guess. I’ll wait for her tocome back. Just…I want to know that she’s safe, Clockwork. Please?”A sigh. “Very well.” The ghost of time turned, and Danny took a smallstep closer to the table. He’d never seen Clockwork keep anything in his tower before. It made sense thathe did, but he just never had it out when Danny came around. Probably becausehe always knew when Danny was coming. Which meant it had to be strange forthings to be out now, but that didn’t mean there was any harm in taking acloser look. If Clockwork had left this stuff out, then maybe it meant he wantedDanny to see it.

Danny reached out to pick up the nearest object at hand, andClockwork’s voice floated back to him. “Don’t touch anything.”“Sorry,” Danny mumbled, withdrawing his hand. ———– caught hiseye, and he’d reached out again before he really realized what he was doing.Surely it wouldn’t hurt just to turn something over to get a better look at it,right? Clockwork just wanted to make sure he didn’t break anything.

Famous last words, right? *grins* So, I personally would set a crossover back in Merlin’s time, as opposed to showing Merlin in Danny’s time. There’s…just a lot more risk with Danny being the unwitting time traveller. (Also, he’s canonically time travelled, so there’s that, too. I mostly just like time travel, though. And a Merlin who’s lived through so much would be less surprised by everything with Danny than a Merlin who has not.) Then there’s the potential for initial misunderstandings, which is pretty much a given for any crossover fic of any length that I write. 

In this scenario, Clockwork allowed the time travel to happen, which would mean there’s something Danny needs to do. (This would also be my cop out for language differences not being an issue.) There would be something to do with the Veil and the Dorocha and–perhaps even more importantly, depending on the ultimate plot–the Cailleach, and possibly but to a lesser extent the Horn of Cathbhadh, since those are the most logical connections between the two shows, and those are the kinds of connections I use to build a stronger crossover. Something like the Cup of Life may or may not turn out to be a Ghost Zone relic in Danny’s time. 

Danny would also really misunderstand magic at first, since his reference for it is basically Desiree; that’s the only kind of magic that he knows is ‘real’, and not something out of stories/to do with technology/channelled by gems. He might not understand how the Sidhe staff works, exactly, but he’d pick up on it being magic a lot faster (and therefore be wary of it if he ever saw it) than he would figure out that the reason weird stuff keeps happening is not because his powers are acting up or because he’s being clumsier than usual because he’s nervous about this entire situation. (Who knew magic was ever banned in Camelot? He thought he knew the stories of the Arthurian legend as well as the next person. Apparently he does not. Or apparently the truth is a lot different than the stories.) He’s not particularly worried about being burned at the stake when he can just go intangible, but he’s changed the past by mistake before, and starting another witch hunt because he uses his ghost powers in front over everyone is not preferable. It would probably not be good. And he should figure out how the heck to get back home. Or even just to the Ghost Zone. He thought Clockwork would’ve popped in by now to explain something or at least berate him, but he hasn’t. 

Now, Merlin’s used to hiding his magic, even if he’s not always terribly good at it, just like Danny’s used to hiding his secret. And until Danny hears someone refer to Merlin as Merlin, he’d be expecting Merlin to look like Dragoon. Which would give Merlin a little bit more freedom when it comes to investigating the stranger that turned up in the courtyard of the citadel which apparently no idea of where he was and no guards reporting seeing him sneaking around until someone saw him and started ringing the bell to alert everyone that there was an intruder. Danny’s excuses, naturally, will be terrible. Merlin’s excuses are also terrible. I’d pretend that he could spot another liar, if only with Gaius’s help. Merlin would initially think Danny has magic, except he’s apparently never heard of Emrys when Merlin’s forced to ask out loud when Danny cannot hear him telepathically. Except Danny’s reaction when he does realize that Merlin is Merlin? That is unnerving. Really unnerving. Merlin might even call Kilgharrah and ask if there’s anything in some prophecy he hasn’t been told about yet about someone fitting Danny’s description.

I would probably set it once Arthur’s king–I like going AU between S4 and S5–but, uh, finer details would depend on why exactly Danny needs to be there. Which I haven’t figured out, which is why I haven’t written anything else for this idea. Morgana would probably get involved eventually, if only because she’s curious about the newcomer once she catches wind of him, and possibly because she thinks she might be able to use him. Poor Danny, still unable to escape from people who want to control him–and have the means to do it.

- Minerva as an old, eldritch, twisting thing. She wears a choker around her neck. No one has ever seen it come off. She lives on the edge of town, haunted constantly by what she sees, and waits

-Aubrey is a werewolf, or the type of thing that would've inspired such stories. She wears a pendant around her neck, as the item concealing her form

-Dr Harris Bonkers (PhD) is the same, but this time he can communicate telepathically

-Duck the normal human in charge of the pine guard, really just doing his fucking best for he and his to not die. It's not going great

-Ned who keeps a collection of all the history of Silvaine, who tells stories at bedtime about all the wonders he'll never see again, Ned who takes off his scarf to reveal a fucking yeti, Ned who encourages the rumours and the cryptid theories because there's money in it
