Flashback to my last visit to @shyboytexrepairs and this nifty @texamps 5 watt model. I’d love to add a #TexAmp to my collection someday, and this #5watt model would be just about right for me (from a plate dissipation perspective!)...unless Tex could somehow make me a 2 watt version. Hint hint. 😆 I’m also proud to say that #TexAmps are made right here in good ol’ #Toronto, Canada. As you have probably guessed the Tex in Tex amps is the same Tex that makes up half of @shyboytexrepairs (whoa...never thought I’d say “Tex” so many times in one sentence!). These guys have done repair, service, and setup work on the #guitars and #amps of top musicians such as Daniel Lanois and Geddy Lee. Tex amps themselves are used by some incredible players including Mr Lanois himself, Bob Rock, Bryan Adams, Jimmy Shaw, Kathleen Edwards, Greg Keelor, Jim Cuddy, Colin Cripps, and Jeff Tweedy. Something old, something new, something #tweed, something blue (#Tolex). It's going to be a big amp day around DeeBeeUs™ World headquarters in #Toronto Canada today when I get home from picking up the new Marshall. But here are some other cool amps I wish I had bought, spotted at @shyboytexrepairs. Bottom left is a rare 1959/61 #Fender #Super #amp. I was looking through some old shots and found this fun one from @capsulemusic in June, 2015. Firstly, that’s my 1969 #FenderMustang...about a year(?) before it was mine! . Secondly, there’s a very cool 5 watt @texamps on the right in the back. These #amps are are sought-after and super stylishness, and I will have one some day... . Thirdly, and most aggravatingly for me as a collector of #vintageamps...there’s a #tweed #FenderHarvard behind and to the left! My dream amp! Even worse...the price tag says $2500 CAD! Arrrggghhhh!!! They don’t sell for THAT anymore, lemme tell you! At the time I probably looked at the price and thought “pfft...too much”. What a tool.
