before i reblog, i want to give you ALL the flowers in the world. i just finished reading the monster of a fic called the great war and YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN. there are no words that can amount to how much i adore this fic. i love lengthy word counts done right (god knows how much long fics i got excited over before them being disappointing or boring as a reader) and i, most importantly, love enemies to lovers, arranged marriage, historical aus done right !!

lets get this out of the way first GRRR WOOF WOOF WOOF BARK SNARK GRERR RAHH HOWL BARK BARK WOOF WOOF WOOF GENERAL SEUNGCHEOL VICTOR OF VENICE I NEED ABYSMALLY.

okay. now that i can safely get that out of my system, LOVE LOVE LOVEEE everything about this fic. theres something so sweet abt men being written unrealistically (aka respectful and honorable whattt??? out of this world tbh) im joking ,, but i did absolutely love how you made cheol so strongly standing for his wife. the slow burn that really did the tag justice (it BURNT), the ENEMIES TO LOVERS DONE RIGHT!?! LIKE YESSS !!! they actually did want to kill each other and the yelling and arguing leading up to the first kissing scene CHEFS KISS like that's literally the epitome of writing, like is it really an e2l if there isn't a intensely written argument before the first sign of intimacy!?!?

throughout reading this story, all i could think abt was how could i ever put into the words the justice you served. allowing reader to be a strong character yet so eloquently bringing to light the struggles she would still face from just being a woman, to seungcheol using his power to stand FOR her. an honorary mention of the "Careful." he would reply to the Councillor after the panicking scene from the Florence mention INCREDIBLE!! it gave everything and more!! the character development from both sides, venus and mars foreshadowing, the subtleties that only slow burn could provide. i genuinely wish i could give a way better review than this but unfortunately im still speechless due to how beautiful this story was so just pls take this dreary review and understand that im so so in love and i adore you so much for the amount of work you put out into this, from the visuals and the descriptions, the perfect build up, the amazing writing of e2l and reflections– just EVERYTHING. you created a masterpiece <3

First of all, I l o v e d that little moment between King and Hunter. I’d love to see those two bond/reconcile a bit in S3 of the show, even though I know we might not have time for that. 😞

Secondly, that banter between Adrian and Darius? *chef kiss* 👌 Gold. I’ve had a strong feeling those two would produce nothing but peak entertainment if they were given a chance to bounce off one another, and this moment proves that right!

Thirdly, the Titan Trappers. The way they returned?? Adrenaline rush. A really good one. They come in at an already tense moment where you probably wouldn’t expect them, and then, BAM! Immediate chaos and action, and it’s all d e l i c i o u s .

Fourthly, the Collector. *deep inhale*

What made you wake up and choose violence on all our heartstrings. /positive

I think King and Hunter would actually get along quite well, there just hasn’t been much opportunity for interaction in canon. And I just love the irony of Hunter being able to talk to a Titan and giving them agency because Belos spent so much time pretending to be able to talk to one to further his own agenda.

Hunter may have an extremely complicated relationship towards The Collector, but I can’t imagine he’d have much reason to harbor animosity towards King. Hunter is a kind and caring boy who spent his entire existence being made to play a role in someone else’s image.

I feel like Adrian is scared shitless of The Collector and is projecting a lot of tropes onto them. Like some of our other characters, he does not think that Collector could possibly be a child. Unlike Luz and company, who held that belief for the sake of their own sanity (because if they are a kid, locking them away would be monstrous) Adrian’s belief is born out of a familiarity with the trickster archetype in stories and mythology.

I had purposefully kept mention of the Titan Trappers to a minimum for the last few chapters (which @pageofheartdj took note of in a recent ask). With everything else that had been happening, our main characters had kind of forgotten this secondary invasion that was occurring.

Also I woke up and chose violence because that’s how I start most days. XD

But in all seriousness, everything that happened in this chapter is potential that has been set up in canon. Whether or not any of it goes in that direction…who knows…

BUT I think that King is one of the few individuals that The Collector has connected with on a deeper, emotional level. Any betrayal by King, or anything harmful happening TO King would hurt The Collector far worse than what anyone else did.

Right now, The Collector has chosen to trust Eda out of fear and desperation. However Eda hasn’t EARNED their trust yet, and this is something important to take note of.

Hi! I just finished reading your Paris jeonghan fic and i wanted to say that it was an absolute thrill to read!

I really really love how you incorporated artworks and such into the story and how the backstory of the statues intertwined with jeonghan and reader’s own story. As corny as it is, I really freakin loved the parallels!!!

The way you wrote about jeonghan’s character and how he’s such a love fool for reader had me blushing and giggling like a little girl HAHAHA I loved it!!!

I also extremely loved how vivid your writing is and how detailed you write scenes to the point where after I finished reading your story I really had to sit down with myself and process the while thing like I had just watched a movie it was crazy good!!!

I came across your blog a little while ago when I first read the great war and I just fell so deeply in love with it. I just re-read it and wanted to tell you how beautiful it is. The way you've written the characters and the plot is truly amazing. The development of the story is truly a work of art. I have always liked e2l plots the most and it's not often you come across stories with proper e2l plots, but the great war has to be one of best, if not best, e2l story I've read. The beautiful way you write really makes me feel the emotions the characters feel as if I'm there, feeling those nerves and the anticipation of what happens next kills me but in a way I absolutely love. Thank you for writing this masterpiece, it was wondeful to experience reading this way.
