🌕 - If Your System Has A Name, What Is The Story Behind It?

Originally, we were called the "Tron System" because Tron is our special interest, but we quickly learned not everyone liked that name so we had to change it. We famously struggle with naming our collective self and can barely pinpoint our personality, but we could pinpoint how we felt.

A lot of chat feels like shattered glass that we're desperately trying to glue back together, so we thought "Shatter" was a good start. Ever sine we were a kid, we loved the name "Sharde", so we slapped that on. Not only is it a cool name we like, but some of us feel like shards of glass, so it fits!

7. What is your favorite scene you’ve written so far?

cheating a bit cause this scene isn’t anywhere close to being finished but it’s probably part of the sam sickfic. don’t wanna give too many spoilers but the rundown is: sam and adam are waiting for a train. as sam stands, he stumbles, and adam pushes him back onto the bench with a hand on his shoulder. calls ben.

I like this scene because I love sickfics and hurt/comfort, but also because it’s the moment adam goes “ok so sam’s actually really not ok” and starts bossing sam around a bit, cause he’s nervous. and sam doesn’t fight back, which freaks adam tf out. it’s fun!

One of these days I'm going to get to the fic where Luke and Leia get sent to Tatooine while their father is on trial for crimes against the Republic. An AU where Anakin didn't turn, but everyone takes one look at him and his crimes and goes....hmmm. Also known as the fic where Luke deals with this by getting really good at flying and kissing boys and Leia gets the depression.

The Orestia AU I'm marinating on will get to the public within 2-3 business years. lol.

And I'm going to write Peevy fic when the next season of Andor comes out! Or now. Depends. I'm just so interested in a young Eedy. It's so fun writing complicated and mean spirited people!!!!

i love making playlists, so i actually have a lot of them! most of them fall into one of the following categories: my favorite songs from a certain category (e.g., my favorite mountain goats songs or my favorite songs from musicals), holiday playlists (so far i have one for halloween, christmas (+ a few new year's songs), and valentine's day), travel playlists, character playlists (i have a dick grayson one, but it's pretty old. my most recent one is for anakin and it comes with notes <3), and playlists i've made for other people

I remember as a kid some characters were becoming my favourites PRECISELY because they were badly hurt or traumatised and watching it I was like "oh damn, I feel so bad for them, it makes me feel an EMOTION."

Some people assume it's a form of sadism, but imo it's like the exact opposite. You want them to be hurt because it makes you feel compassion for them and the emotion of it is so strong it's addicting. Like no other thing makes you root for a character as strongly as living through their traumatic experience with them

(while at the same time just being told about some sad backstory doesn't always work and sometimes accomplishes the exact opposite because it feels like an author is cheating by attempting to make you, as a viewer, feel sympathy without actually making you live with them through some shit. Also the opposite is true, and characters that are nothing but a punching bag of the narrative are getting exhausting to tolerate pretty damn fast)

I see you've seen my tags 😅 yeah I had a whole phase in middle school, when H*rry P*tter was popular, being obsessed with Sirius Black and all the depression and abuse and suffering in his story, like THAT was my first fandom experience.

I don't have anything against the sadism, but I think a lot of it is just more, like, masochism. It's a way of processing your own unspoken trauma, I was getting bullied at school, in a controlling environment at home, and my autism was still undiagnosed, ya boy wasn't doing well at those young ages and it's so cathartic to know that you're not alone.

It is absolutely addicting though, the high stakes, the big emotions, the way that fear passes through you when it's not real. I think I had a little bit of a fandom theory the other day, because we've all seen the posts about how a mediocre, or even shitty piece of media will drive a fandom nuts because it gives you something to latch onto long term in a way that something that's truly really well done won't. Eventually you run out of things you talk about, right? Well I think the exception is something that's well done- but fucked up. Hannibal still trends weekly around here, and it was executed wonderfully, it's a very well done story... And it's fucked up. It's spicy, it's different, it gives it that staying power

I'm rambling, but I totally agree on that show/tell thing, i think it's just... Maybe it's the predictability too, a punching bag is just gonna keep being a punching bag. And a sad backstory for a character you don't like is only going to be annoying because you weren't going to like them in the first place!

Hi :DD Thanks for the ask, sorry it took so long. Been running around like a headless chicken. (original ask game link for anyone who wants to send me more asks)

How I feel about this character: So, ok, I like Obi-Wan a lot. Reading the Jedi Apprentice series specifically endeared me to him even more than the rest of SW did (hot takes central: these books were pretty good, actually. Jedi Quest too, I'm just not yet finished with that one). It's the way he always tries to do the right thing while circumstances both external and internal keep getting more and more complex and tangled until a web of duty, love and denial strangles all.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Anakin, of course! I'm the opposite of a multi-shipper (no negativity for multishippers, I've just got a one-track mind). The way these two orbit each other, the sheer depth of change they inflict on one another is overwhelming. But nobody needs this, an Obikin blog, to go on about how much they like Obikin))

My non-romantic OTP for this character: I'm going to say Quinlan (I wish there were more TCW episodes where they interact, it's always a blast). Qui-Gon gets an honorable mention, as does the Ahsoka and Her Two Space Dads (tm) family unit. I love them. Probably reflects in my art.

My unpopular opinion about this character: Feel free to throw tomatoes at me, but I do not think the interpretation of him as this unshakeable, untarnished beacon of light (who's never made the wrong choice or wavered in a significant way) that I've seen some people come up with is all that compelling. Not to *me* anyway. Obviously, we all have different reads on a character we love, mine is just different, as are my tastes.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Hm. Not sure. Depends on the canon, I guess. In the OT I wish there was just more of him? Even as a Force Ghost or something. In TCW I wish they'd given him more interaction with Ahsoka. In the Prequels he's perfect in every way great, but gosh do I wish TPM had more scenes with PadaObi, his haughtiness and his hedgehog haircut.
