Lately I've been making sims for my three cemeteries. Yes, there are 3! Because God knows, the Capps and Montys can't bury their dead in the same place - nor do they want the town's riff-raft next to their dearly departed. Anyway, I hate CAS - as you all know - so in between creating dead sims, I'm still working on the town itself.

One of the things I did, was replace the city hall with one of those 3-in-1 rabbit holes. Mostly because 1) I am too lazy to do the whole military base and 2) I needed the spot where the police station was for my live show venue. In any event, I think this rabbithole looks nicer in this town. I'm guessing it came from that boat ep, but since I hardly ever play that world, I didn't remember it. But I do like it here. I've added a podium so my politicians can wax poetic, trying to con the populace into voting for more taxes, and a soapbox for my protestor sims. Plus Sandy's bike park shelter for the bicycles.

This is my new consignment store. It's right across the street from where the old police station was. I found the original lot over on TSR. I just "fixed" it, by redoing the landscaping, adding some vines on the building and signage. The white building I left empty, mostly because it has a weird set-up inside, having been built on a different level than the main build. So, it's just set-dressing.

And here's the new live show venue lot where the police station was. In danjaley's version, she had also had an old Globe Theater in her town, which shared a lot with a theater rabbithole. I really liked that idea, so when I saw this lot over on Mod the Sims, I grabbed it. In my town history, this was scheduled to be torn down, but Consort Capp said, "Over my dead body!" To which Patrizio responded, "That can be arranged!" Anyway, the Capps prevailed in saving it by having the building registered on the Sim National Register for Historic Sites. For those of you who don't know, that means it can't be torn down - ever. Anyway, old Patrizio blocked all funding for its restoration, so the Capp family footed the bill - with the stipulation that their name be added to the National Registry plague out front. This royally ticked off the Montys, since 1) it makes the Capps look magnanimous and 2) this building is actually on the Monty side of the main island. So, they built a new theater on the Capp side. (More pictures of that later).

Anyway, I think this was built before Showtime came out, since the original stage wasn't a 'real' stage. I made it a bit smaller so that I could put those benches out front and then used that smaller 6 by something stage. Then I went outside and relandscaped the lot. Go, me!

Default Replacement Wagons and Carriages for Sims 3

This is a set of default replacement wagons and carriages for Sims 3. They're based on my earlier conversions of Hexameter's Farm Wagon and @notsooldmadcatlady's Medieval Carriage which use Dragonslave horses, converted by Kyrie with @danjaley's texture edit. Thanks again to these creators for their work!

No More Sims Driving Cars in Dragon Valley!

Hexameter's Farm Wagon replaces the Yomoshoto Evasion and Tofunda Wagon and Notsooldmadcatlady's Medieval Carriage replaces the VFN Kompensator and Margaret Vaguester.

These four cars are the ones the game gives to inactive sims, along with the Sloppy Jalopy and Big Lemon.

Danjaley has already made default replacements for the Sloppy Jalopy and Big Lemon and for the taxi. So if you install this set of default replacements alongside danjaley's, you should only see sims driving carriages and wagons in the background of your game.

These versions of the Farm Wagon and Medieval Carriage are significantly lower poly than the original non-default versions:

This is at the upper end of the range of normal for EA car meshes but I haven't experienced any lag or problems with them.

As with any default replacements, you may need to clear your world cache to get the textures to show up properly in your game.

Hi everyone!　First of all, I must apologize. Regarding my previous post about "Victorian Sunset Valley", I deleted it because there was a problem with the save file. There is no problem with the empty world.

I'm really sorry to all the simmers who downloaded, liked, reblogged and commented.

It seems that the problem can be solved by separating the save files, so I decided to share it again. There are no changes to the empty world, so if you have it, please try again.

❖Empty World There are just a Public Lots, a Farm District, and Goth Manor.The two hilltop mansions don't exist yet. This is Sunset Valley long before Mortimer Goth was born.If there is a historic town you have in mind, you are free to build it here.

※An empty world requires the store item "Artemis Temple Frieze (Muse Luxury)".

❖Save files You can enjoy the Victorian era right away, but there are no film careers, universities, or diving spots. There are a few empty plots, so feel free to add them.

This time, I did not build any houses. I only built some public lots, but I changed the color of the buildings I shared before and placed them. The Equestrian Center of EA is very conspicuous, so I built a small racetrack. There is a fire station of EA next to it, but it does not blend in with the scenery very well, so I am thinking of rebuilding it someday.

The address of @ri-el's Sherlock Holmes residence is 221B Baker Street. I wanted to place this residence on the main street, so I set the lot size specifically. Then I placed the lot built by @nornities to match the cafe next door and the stairs leading to the harbor across the road. The harbor is a bit of a tourist area, with trade ships, sightseeing ships, and passenger ships arriving and departing. Some Sims may come to see the steamships, so I prioritized placing it here. There are also lots of great builds by other creators included. Thank you.

Every house has some sort of vehicle (either a horse-drawn carriage or a historic bicycle), and the sight of so many carriages going around town is truly impressive!

It looks heavy, but if you can play the EA Store worlds then I don't think it will be an issue.

Basically, it is a town for enjoying historical play such as the Victorian or Edwardian, but I think it can also be enjoyed in normal play.

The decoration is minimal, so feel free to edit it however you like and have fun.

Here is my Christmas build:

My take on Rosehill Cottage from the movie "The Holiday"

(Everyone rolling their eyes going "Not a ANOTHER Rosehill Cottage" 🙄😂)

I was almost finished building, when it came to me that I am probably not the first to have had THAT idea 🙈 I actually had a good laugh at the fact, that it took me so long to think of that 😂

So I asked the googler: turns out there are at least 5 other versions of Rosehill Cottage out there for the Sims 3... 😭😂

And then, the other day, I had @aistromelia's post pop up in my feed with gifs from another Rosehill Cottage inspired build with the exact same Christmas tree I used in the exact same location where I placed it in my version 🙈🙈 If you haven't yet, take a look at their post here! The gifs look absolutely amazing 😍😍😍 By that time I was already done playtesting my house, and had taken all the screenshots...

But I decided to go ahead with sharing it anyway. I had spent so much time on this build, and I had an absolute blast building and decorating it! One of the most fun builds I've ever done! It really helped me get into the Christmas Spirit! I figured that everyone's interpretation of this little cottage is going to be different anyway (except for the Christmas tree, apparently 😆)...

I highly recommend you use a mod that prevents objects from catching fire when placed near fireplaces like this one by @danjaley here. I placed several objects very close to the fireplaces and without a mod like this the house will turn into a charred pile of rubble in no time 😂

As with all my recent builds, I did use @omedapixel's Sims 3 Decorator Tools Mod. You don't necessarily need the mod to use the lot. As long as you do not move the objects that were placed with the mod, everything should stay in place. Only if you do some redecorating, and you happen to move one of the mentioned objects, they may slip back into normal mode and you will only be able to place them back with the mod.

I hope you guys will have as much fun playing in this house as I had building it! Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of you 🎄🎅🎁

Hello! May I ask how you have your NRASS settings for your decades challenge? And how you cater your game in the sims 3 with the challenge

Thank you for this question, I wouldn't consider myself an expert on medieval-style gameplay at all lol there are definitely many more people in the community more knowledgable than me! But I've done my best to detail some resources along with my NRAAS settings below, I hope this helps! <3

In terms of how I cater my game for the challenge, I have a lot of historical replacements and cc which make things look more immersive,

If you want a few recommendations:

Zoe22's Off-Grid Plumbing, Buzzler's Scribbling Pad & Functional Washboard

All of Danjaley's stuff! They've been the GOAT in the sims 3 medieval community for a long time and have some great CC including lots of defaults, their CC finds blog is also a fantastic resource for other peoples stuff

JoojConverts also has some great medieval (and other historical periods) clothing & objects

Omedapixel has some essential historical defaults and other great medieval CC!

MsPoodle has some great historical defaults and medieval CC

This sims medieval total object conversion pack & this functional fireplace / cauldron conversion are really great bits of CC converted from TSM

Declaration of Dramas has some fab medieval CC along with a few medieval mods to enhance your gameplay, such as adding a whole religion system!

Ani's Sims has lots of mods which fit in really well with medieval-style gameplay, adding hunting, digging for treasure, blacksmiths, woodcutters and loads more!

Random Default Replacements: Clothesline / Fishing Rod / Music Tips Jar / Paintings / Baby Blanket

Arsil's no cellphones mod / No answer calls mod are really useful as cellphones are one thing which just break my immersion so much!

The carpool disabler is also pretty useful

Feyerin made a bunch of medieval-style careers to be used in conjunction with the NRAAS careers mod

The Merrye Makers on MTS have made a whole bunch of medieval CC and mods I really reccomend!

13. What do you do when you are unmotivated?

When it comes to The Sims: usually just give myself a break. I work very hard on this challenge, so it is only natural that I burn myself out over that from time to time. Stepping away for a few days and doing something else usually helps my lack of motivation go away.

When it comes to life in general: Aimlessly scrolling through my phone until I remind myself that my free time is finite, basically. Sadly, it's 50/50 whether that logic works for chores.

15. Who is your favourite sim that is not by you?

That is even harder to answer than the question who my favourite among my own sims is! With that question, I at least wasn't worried about hurting anyone's feelings.

My all-time favourite has to be @rinseesims Queen Joan, The She-Wolf of Willow Creek. I miss that LP daily, but I hope you are doing well, Rinsee. Joan's story was very much inspired by Isabella of France, who was already an interesting historical figure. While there is much to pity Joan for, it was absolutely glorious when she finally got her claws out. Gotta love a queen who knows how to bide her time.

Really, you should just check out Rinsee's UDC in general. I absolutely adore how she incorporated historical events.

But because I'd feel bad about leaving people out, here are some faves from other LPs/blogs:

Elizabeth Comyn/Capet, Duchess of Willow Creek ( @thestressedsimmer): I still mourn what that character could have developed into. She seemed ready to lead such an interesting life.

Leila Zaterdag ( @sircesimblr): Leila just seems so...idk, dependable? She has a lot to trouble her, but is trying to deal with it as best she can. I admire that.

Kurtis Lottway ( @zelenxa): The man's a bisexual (?) medieval mess and reading about him is SO much fun.

Matthew McCarric ( @danjaley): I'm still catching up on danjaley's posts, but aside from Matthew just being a very interesting character, he gives such strong 'I'm not being paid enough to deal with this' vibes...despite no one paying him for any of it.

Really any of the Barrow siblings in the UDC by @citrinedecades (many of them live pretty wild lives), but my fave is probably their aunt Gabriella. She's a sweetheart.

There are more I could mention (there are for sure more UDCs I follow and enjoy!) but I fear I have to stop at some point.

Capp Manor

I really, really hated the Capp manor in the Sims 2. It was one of the reasons I never played that family. So - while danjaley recreated it for her town and did a good job - I knew I would never keep it. I actually opened it up, took a look around, and said, "Yep, still hate it."

So in my town history, the old manor house burned down. Some sims whisper that those Monty boys had something to do with it. But, more likely it was Tybalt falling asleep while smoking his weed. In any event, if 'el cheapo' Consort supported the local fire district, the firemen wouldn't have taken that detour to the pizzeria when the call came in, saying his house was on fire. But he doesn't and they did. And the rest is history.

Luckily, the house was insured, so he was able to rebuild the place - bigger and better. Even had some simoleons left over to replace the non-existent horse barn he swore was on the property and lost in the fire.

Because he's older than dirt and stairs hurt his knees, his bedroom is on the ground level. It's a combo study, bedroom, dressing room, and bath.

And here's the rest of the floor.

The first bedroom, at the top of the stairs, belongs to Tybalt. It's also the biggest, because he's a guy and Consort is secretly patrilineal, even though he bowed to the Capp demand that he give up his surname when he married into the family. So, of course, his grandson gets the biggest and best room. Besides, Tybalt is the first male to be born into the family in several generations, so he IS the PRINCE!!!! And don't you forget it!

The two girls get what's left - Juliette in the one with the pink-striped bed and Hermia in the purple room. Juliette is actually happy she got the room she got, because it's close to the back stair, which makes it easier to sneak out. Hermia doesn't care. She's got her horse and that's all that matters to her.

Anyway, that's their new house. I do have to go back in and re-do the wallpaper on that one hallway wall. And fix the floor by the back stair case. But apart from that, it is what it is. I can't remember where I got this house. I think it was Mod the Sims, but it could have been TSR. In any event, I redecorated it inside and out. And I think it fits this family better. I do not plan on putting any family graves on this lot - like they had in the Sims 2. The Capps have a perfectly good church that they go to, that has an adjacent graveyard. So all the dead family members will go there. These aren't the Goths after all.

BTW, danjaley provided all the main families for this town - complete with their Sims 2 bios. Which is super nice. I have added to their stories here and there. Mostly to give more info on why they hate each other. For instance, Consort is a complete narcissist. He doesn't have a clue why his former college roommate and BFF got mad when he 1) secretly stole his fiancé and 2) ran off with her on the day they were to get married, leaving poor Patrizio standing there, waiting at the altar. Or why Pat got upset when Contessa and he talked her father into booting Patrizio out of the company he had helped build.

I have taken the sims into CAS - even though I hate it - because I use custom skins, hairs and make-up on my sims. Plus this was made a long time ago, and I decided to update their wardrobes a tad. But if you decide to use her world, she provides the families - and even a save file. I chose not to use the save because I knew I'd be making some changes to the town.

Medieval Carriage for Sims 3

This is a conversion of Notsooldmadcatlady's really beautiful ts4 medieval carriage. Thanks to @notsooldmadcatlady for making it and letting me convert! I did two versions of the carriage – one as a working vehicle and the other as decor for storytelling.

Functional Vehicle

For the working vehicle, I added Kyrie's converted Dragonslave horses, which I used with edited textures by @danjaley for the School Wagon, and I added an edit of a bridle by Hexameter. Thanks again to these creators too.

The carriage is castable, but the horses are not, and neither the wheels or the horses are animated.

HLoD: 16088, MLoD: 7394 2500 simoleons in vehicles>cars.

Decor Versions

The decor versions are in decor>sculpture for 4800 simoleons. There are two types – one has an open door and the other has the door shut.

If you're looking for storytelling poses, Danjaley has made some great carriage poses for NAuditore's conversion of the Maryata Stagecoach and has also archived Kyrie's conversions of Dragonslave's horses, seen below.

The town has a nostalgic feel to it, so I've played a lot of historical sims. (I also played Attack on Titan lol)

First of all, I have to apologize to Nornities for destroying the beach and building a house.

However, I like this location the most because it offers a great view of the town.

Gonna answer this publicly so I can refer to this post in the future. Hope that's ok.

I'm using this ts2 baby body conversion by @danjaley at Mod the Sims with Kurasoberina's Primer baby skin that I edited a little bit (threw the images in PS and made the details a little darker. It was really washed out in my game and the darker skin was really pale) . And you can grab a whole set of clothes over -> here.

In full transparency, one of the outfits that I put Rowan in is something that I made (top with ruffles and cloth bloomers). I didn't share it because the bone assignments are really janky. I noticed this on Joke's meshes as well. You don't notice it in normal gameplay but if you go to map mode, there's an 'out of world' vertices that flickers like crazy. Drove me nuts. I was trying to build at the time and it's super annoying. Anyways, tried to fix it and couldn't is the reason I didn't share.

You've been warned! lol It's the other reason the baby stage is really short in my up coming gameplay post. I could have switched it out for @quizicalgin's version but I couldn't be bothered at the time. I like the way the ts2 baby body looks so I will stick with it. Maybe in the future... at some point...I'll fix the bone assignment issue.

Image 1: It’s after sunset now at the Goth Manor. Image 2: Gunther, Cornelia, Mortimer, Xander, and Frida are sitting at the table, eating. Text: *silverware clatters* Image 3: Frida turns to talk to Cornelia while eating. [Frida]: “So, um, Cornelia, how have you been? I haven’t seen you since—” Image 4: Cornelia is eating with a disinterested look on her face. [Cornelia]: "Since you were puking on my 10,000-Simoleon wedding dress. Yes, I remember. If you don’t, people will talk, and we can’t let our enemies see even the smallest crack in our family’s foundation.” Image 8: Cornelia leans in to whisper into Frida’s ear so that only she can hear. [Cornelia]: “And you will bring a more suitable date than the one you brought into my home tonight. I know what Xander is, and I know who he works for.”
