The whole Muriel scene is adorable! Aziraphale is so gentle and Crowley is having a blast! Also they are soooo married in this scene.

Crowley “ It sounded like a good idea when we were talking about it” when he was talking about gravity. Like how high in the angel hierarchy was he?! He was in the meeting rooms when they made earth… He later says “I haven’t done weather in ages” like huuuuh?!!

I think the miracle blocker had little squares with how many miracles it can block and Aziraphale’s turnip thing was the final two, that why they did the shotgun thing.

Crowley doesn’t remember Furfur and later Saraquel. Now about Furfur I have a theory that Crowley didn’t in fact fight in the war but planted memories on a random demon so that he wouldn’t be questioned.

That “Aziraphale” Aziraphale said to the demons was the coldest thing he ever said in the series. Keep in mind that the only other time he was that cold was at his trial and that wasn’t even him! it was Crowley.

I love the gender neutral terms of spouse, partner through out the show.

Crowley is the only demon who says “Let there be light” as a nod to the fact that he was an angel. Only angels say “let there be light” because God said it in the holly texts, but Crowley says it because he can. And i love that for him

Yo watching ep 74, they're in the City of Brass and Matt said it's 110 - 120 degrees Fahrenheit. First time I watched this I thought " that's probably pretty hot"

I fucking looked it up - I live in a place where the hottest I know is like 25-30 degrees. I'm a coastal native in a place where the winds regularly go over 100km/h and it rains most months of the year.

110-120 is like 43-50 degrees celsius! I would fucking di! The moment I got in the Fire plane I would be dead! I'm only comfortable with rain and 10 Celsius (50 Fahrenheit)!!! I know that's not th coldest but I've never been in 50 degree weather before! That's unnatural!!!!

Her emotional performances, paired with glistening, synth-laded production make for songs you could slow-dance to with a pang of sorrow in your heart.

It’s got some of the freshest pop bops I’ve heard in a while, from the funky, “Make Me Feel” by Janelle Monáe-eque “You Were Never My Boyfriend” to the endlessly danceable “True Love.”

Her songs balance classic-sounding instrumentals and a modern wit in the lyrical department, like in her song “Harry,” which plays off a crazed stan character à la Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” over a crunching electric guitar.

Yugioh S3 Ep 29-30: LAVA GOLEM

Ah, Kaiba island.

I’m not quite sure how big Kaiba island is. In this picture it looks like we got ourselves a 6 story building on the side, but if we compare the 6 story building to the tower it’s like...that’s a 100 story building, roughly? Our art team has given up trying to make this building look like anything other than what it looks like, and they’re just going to make a metallic cross-section of a dick every time it shows up.

Also, I kinda wish we saw a little bit more of the landing sequence to get here because....

....did we do an Akira motorcycle slide into this island or is that just me?

Meanwhile, as Joey is duking it out on the world’s largest, coldest dildo, Serenity is stationed at the post she made for herself.

Inside the swamp cloud, Marik is shocked that Joey has been largely unphased by this horrific experience.

Clearly Marik has not caught on that Joey’s been conditioned to this stuff living with Yugi for the past many years, and a little bit of pink spirit-sucking wires aren’t really much of a match for that time Joey saw Yugi light a guy on fire with a match once. Well, a lighter. Either way, this isn’t so bad.

And then, I don’t really talk about card games here, but Marik introduces a new card I have not seen before.

Behold, Lava Golem.

Look at him! Like I know everyone’s kinda freaking out about the new pokemon but like...Lava Golem? Remember that sweet face?

He’s just soooooo good.

Man this is the first Yugioh card ever that I’ve actually liked.

And, upon seeing this terrifying situation, Tea turns to Yugi and says:

Also during these few episodes, Marik is starting to undergo a transformation, mostly via his viens. It’s a look. Kind of worried about his blood pressure.

And I was thinking that they just invented a a chin vein, but, as it turns out, they actually did their research.

There is a vein there! I mean this isn’t really that big a deal to most of you, probably, but anime often gets a bad rap for ignoring anatomy (which ... it’s a cartoon so yeah that’s...that’s what you do in cartoons, you ignore most anatomy) but hey--they got this vein correct. I don’t know why they even bothered, but that was very nice of them to make something so gross so correct.

I usually don’t like the Yugioh monster designs but this one is just...he’s such a good boy.

Anyway, the art team was told at some point to change piss cloud and they decided to do this instead

Why does the width keep changing on the tower? Like I know it was tossed between different artists but like...it just...it keeps changing and it bothers me.

Anyway, back to what matters.

Can this be our new Joey Wheeler? Just leave everything about Joey Wheeler the same but replace his sprite with Lava Golem and with no explanation. I’d be down.

I do think that this arc brought back their A-team for the animation, there was just a lot more going on visually than we’ve had in a good while. Like this Marik face, for instance--this very famous face that I’ve seen drawn on like...a whole lot of characters. This is a much-referenced pose.

I mean, hey, not using reference while drawing is the same as dueling as Yugi Muto and just never using the Pharaoh. Like sure you could, but never, ever, ever do that.

And I just want you to know, I held that really corny anime art joke in for like a straight week on twitter as the entire world was going off about whether or not you’re supposed to use reference materials when you draw as if this is some sort of controversial topic (it’s not. No one cares about your process.) and y’all, it was HARD. But I did it. I resisted the discourse and still found a way to sneak it into here, into the side blog where I can go off about the inane art twitter discourse without getting blocked.

Which, again, was about “Can I use reference?” I...art twitter. Art twitter, I swear. why would you NOT? You have the Pharaoh, art twitter. You have the Pharaoh.

Anyway, I hope at least one of you got that joke. I hope one of you at least was like “lol--Art Reference is the Heart of the Cards.” and the next time someone tells you that using reference is cheating (which will never happen, a infinitesimal number of people in one forum on DeviantArt in 2003 said this once in the entire history of art, and I don’t know why twitter is fighting with these child-run forums that don’t even exist anymore) you can say “Don’t you dare talk about my platonic soulmate that way.” and just end the argument there.

The hell are these people who say artists don’t use reference? Do you write history papers without reading books?

And that’s my rant that was a.) too long for twitter and also b.) maybe too much anime. With art twitter it’s like..there’s no middle ground between too much anime and not enough anime. No middle ground and I have no idea where the people who follow me even stand. I think they just want to see Zelda. I think that’s about it. I really can’t tell with them. I’m like...always confused as to what those people want.

I need to delete my twitter. Anyways, back to Joey, who felt like breaking the fourth wall.

And so Marik decides to sober up and play the God card.

Yo guys, remember God Cards? I’ll be honest, I kinda completely forgot about them.

And then at some point this shot happened and I was living for it.

such a good idea to offset people in a different filter and kinda stack em. Bro was saying he remembered this sort of thing in Cowboy Bebop but I don’t remember what the hell he’s talking about. Bro and his spicy headcanons are mixing up Yugioh and Cowboy Bebop now. Never thought I’d see that.

And then Kaiba’s muscles kinda twitched and it looked like smiling.

Man, were there a lot of phoenix references in the 00′s or is that just me who read way too much Harry Potter?

And like, because I do draw Yugi sometimes, occasionally people will reblog and tag with Pharaoh’s real name in there (I can’t really avoid that spoiler), so I think it’s pretty likely his name comes from Atum of Egyptian legend. Who...wasn’t really a Pharaoh. Atum was kinda weird, he gave birth to...himself. He’s an interesting read. But, we’ll get there when we get there.

But, I didn’t really know about Bennu pyramids until I actually went and looked up Egyptian Phoenixes. I had always thought that the Phoenix was Greek in origin but, according to Wikipedia some people say it happened in Egypt as well. And if it’s good enough for Wikipedia, it’s good enough for Yugioh.

The return of the mystery purple moisturizer jug and it brought it’s entire extended family of fiji waters.

And so, Ishizu decides to do the right thing and take care of Mai. Not sure what Ishizu knows about being a nurse since she lived underground, but since she can help cure poisonous snake bites, maybe comas are a little bit easier?

And so Serenity starts the 30 minute jog up the phallic tower to get to Joey’s death sequence. She’s made it to about...20 ft outside of the plane by the end of this episode. Serenity runs kinda slow.

Bro mentioned that he thinks it looks like Tea’s trying to very stealthily steal Yugi’s wallet. And that’s just my spicy headcanon now, too.

Well now that’s over, lemme see if...

.......it could’ve happened. It only has like a couple of human skulls on it.

Human is the third EP from indie singer Dodie.

This EP is a collection of new songs as well as recorded versions of fan favourites. Coming off the success of “You” this EP has been anticipated since last year. Compared to the overall vibe of the previous EPs, Dodie has matured and there’s not a yellow flower crown in sight and instead a black keyboard (rest in peace Dodie Yellow). The themes of love, rekindling and maturity blossom on this gorgeous EP. 

The EP starts with Arms Unfolding, an airy, soothing song about rebuilding love and falling back into place with someone (confirmed to be about two of her friends). There is no production; rather a harmonized humming vocal in the background. It makes you focus on the heartbreaking lyrics. 

“Oh, our fire died last winter All of the shouting blew it out You know I could live without or with you But I might like having you about”

Such simple lyrics but they tell a powerful story. At 1 minute and 30 seconds, it’s such a short song but it sets the tone and themes of the EP up perfectly. 

“Tell me? Have you ever looked into the eyes of someone who hates you?”

This is how Dodie introduces this fan favourite live, Monster. The song has a steady beat with Dodie talking about critics and how people perceive her. It’s an interesting concept. Set under a drum beat and a guitar, Dodie uses lyricism from monsters to devils whilst being witty and sarcastic. It’s groovy and starts the EP with a bang.

Dodie isn’t alone on this EP. Two collaborations are followed up. Not What I Meant is a team up with Lewis Watson with a guitar and a piano. It’s a short song but definitely powerful.

Human was the promotional titilar song for the EP. It was originally released in 2016 with YouTuber Paint. This time, Dodie is with Tom Walker. Written out of desperation, the lyrics are very emotionally charged about falling in love with someone and being dependent. Dodie revisited the song years later and gave it a new lease of life. It’s an anti love song essentially. There’s swirling synths and a plucking guitar driving the song. 

Written in 2013, She is about falling in love with a girl and feeling ashamed of it. There’s a certain sense of innocence and charm to this song. The original was just Dodie in her room with a guitar. This version has harmonies, strings and drums. It’s so much more than a demo now. It will reduce even the coldest of hearts, especially LGBT listeners who resonate with the lyrics. There are more layers to this song adding to its emotional intensity despite it sounded very delicate. 

If I’m Being Honest is a song about self love and having a bad self-image day. Especially portrayed online and falling in love (”I pulled all of my best bits forward), you only see what you want online. An orchestral band accompanies Dodie; with a plucking strings in the background. It builds at the bridge very suddenly then crashes as Dodie quietly whispers the lyrics of the chorus. The brass and strings carry this song. 

The EP closes with a similar way to the opener with Burned Out. A simple song with just a piano and strings. Being an online creator, it’s easy to burn out and have fans look up to you. She recorded this on her channel last year. 

A must have for Dodie fans, with fan favorites recording in high quality and some new welcoming songs. The minimal production suits her voice. 

Dodie is one to look out for 2019. She is on tour in March.

Levantine Week Day 7: Mazhott - M For Mazhott

Powerful hardcore punk from Damascus, Syria

For our final Levantine piece Alfred C. Key IV gets excited about the Syrian punk band Mazhott ماظوط and their EP, M for Mazhott. This is a musical juggernaut with aggressive, catchy riffs and none of the cliches that punk music often returns to. It's full of the kind of subversive rage that puts one in danger in Damascus, but remain singable and likeable enough to light a fire in the coldest hearts.

well, first of all, let’s get the complaints out of the way! the first thing you’ll notice while reading the tracklist is that they let out a huge ton of new material, which is a pity. I think that, if they had to respect some time restraints, they could’ve decided to cut the songs that already were on the ep or on the concept album (even though it would’ve been a shame not hearing them sung by this amazing cast!) so they could’ve let us listen to more numbers from the stage production. the cuts sometimes don’t make a lot of sense and leave the story uncomplete, making it even more difficult to follow if you didn’t know it beforehand. hopefully the show will open on broadway where they’ll have enough budget to give us the complete score we deserve 💪

the audio quality is gorgeous, crystal clear, and everyone’s voices blend so well together, true, but they’re also so unique that you can recognize each character even during the ensemble parts!

the lyrics are powerful, meaningful, heart-breaking, no word is out of place, while the orchestrations are so wonderful and rich that no 👢 will ever do them justice. you can totally tell that anais mitchell is an incredibly gifted composer and lyricist and one can’t help wondering how she improved this already amazing material for broadway.

Ghum - Saturn

Louise Tse and Jojo Khor directed this video for the song, Saturn by Ghum, the track is taken from the EP, The Coldest Fire, which was released on 28th June 2019, via Everything Sucks Music.

Ghum are a four-piece all girl post punk / ghost goth band based in London, UK, the band members coming from Spain, Brazil, London and Malaysia. They are comprised of Laura Guerrero Lora on the vocals, Marina MJ on the bass, Vicki Butler on the drums and Jojo Khor on guitar and vocals.

KILL NO ALBRATROSS RELEASES NEW EP

I don’t listen to a large amount of rock music, but I was impressed with the band’s versatility and evolving dynamics. Their “no holds barred rock” on full display in gritty, defiant anthem “Apex Predator” contrasts the initially slow instrumentation, crestfallen notes of “Sky on Fire.” A call to the humility left in humanity, concern and love for others, and ability to overcome past poisons – Speak True Evil is a gripping narration that lends itself loud and clear.

I had not been sleeping well the past few weeks. By well I mean, early and I’ve been waking up at weird times. I don’t know why. But I don’t really feel like sleeping. Says the one who’s always tired at class. I also had been thinking. Too much if you ask me. There’s just so much to process every single day. There’s so much happening. Maybe it’s cause it’s a new school cycle, or I still had vacation hangover, or maybe it’s because of my fucking phone (useless, I should really tell that to my parents, ggwp), or the fact the I have like only 15 units and what’s happening is that there’s nothing much to do, well, in the morning. Sucks though. I was pretty excited to go to school, meehh. But yeah, I’ve been thinking, when you’re a graduating student who didn’t have plans to begin with, it haunts you every single day. It’s always asked in majors, in chats, in talks with peers, at home. Sucks. It’s so difficult to meet expectations when at the first place, you don’t even know what to expect. It really sucks. I’ve been thinking where I’d work, what I’ll be doing, when I’ll start, yeah I have answers but everything seems to not satisfy the expectations that people have for me. I don’t know. It’s heavy. It’s getting heavier each day. But yeah, I’m still thinking. I’m thinking way too much. WAY WAY TOO MUCH Cause they’re so much that I can’t do for these people. I’m just.... me.. What can I do? (cue in: feeling of being not enough and being scared that I am failing and disappointing people) *darkness*

I’m liking the night breeze though. It’s not as cold as the province but I like it. There’s really something about the night that settle me down, even for just a little bit. Even with cars passing by, it’s as if the world’s stopping just so I can breathe with it, with the breeze. It’s also a plus that I can see the stars. It’s beautiful to think that in this crowded and polluted city, the stars were kind enough to show themselves every night. I wish it’s always January. The month brings the breeze and the stars. December could be enough but January is when it’s coldest and when the stars and brightest (I think. hahaha)

I guess I’ll also be back to theater. It’s been a while. I didn’t know I’d be back here since I told myself last year that it would be my last cause I’d be graduating. But I guess going back to what I love will help me clear things in my mind. I think I’d have to sacrifice graduating with honors though. Honestly, I’m totally fine with not getting it, but if I can get it, good, if I don’t then okay, at least I’ll be proud to say that I’m doing what I love. It’s not also sure that I’d get that even though I don’t do theater. So back to theater. HAHA. The play’s cool I tell you. I sense how dark it will get.... AND I LOVE DARK PLAYS... Although it haunts me in sleep. I tried auditioning, it’s actually very funny cause I auditioned in front of my good theater friends. Very interesting I tell you. HAHAHA. I don’t know dude. Really hope I can get in. So I can end my college year with a bang. Theater had always been there for me. It’s always a surreal experience both on or offstage. Compare it to when you first tied your shoelaces. You remember how difficult it was to tie it, very frustrating. You can see the actual thing, the actual process, but it really doesn’t make sense. But after one effort, it just ties itself and you’re one happy kid. I would have doubts on why I do theater, on why I still do that despite all the commitments I have to my studies, to the dorm, to my friends, but as cliche as it sounds, IT IS REALLY WORTH IT. Every production I join is like me learning how to tie my shoe again. From the frustrations, to new found friendships, to late night adventures, to cramming the subjects. I TELL YOU. IT. IS. WORTH. IT.

I’m also back to praying my daily ten minute prayers in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I am having difficulties though. My mind tends to wander and think of so much things. It’s difficult, but I do hope my prayers reach Him. There’s so much to thank for. Recently, I was told that everything that I’ll be doing will be my last as a student. That hit me. It hit me so much because I know so many people that has helped me be who I am today. There’s just so much to thank for and it’s very frustrating to be not focused in my prayers. I need help. I’mma go spiritual direction again. And be as honest as possible.

Now, it’s early in the morning. I’m getting hungry. That’s why I should sleep early, but I can’t so I get hungry. During these times, I’m always torn between just sleeping it off and go down the stairs to actually get something to eat. I’ll settle for water though, for now, maybe I’ll get one viand later. Depends. It’s always good to be asked how you are randomly. It’s so lame but I like it, makes the person feel important or loved. Who wouldn’t want that? So right now, I’m hungry.

I’m also starting to listen to songs I liked before. The Script and Ed are at the top of the list. I’d be always be moved by Ed Sheeran’s Give Me Love which was captured somewhere (search it in youtube NOW. Search keyword: Give Me Love Captured. So if you see something like captured at the live room. THAT’S IT) The dorm restricted some youtube videos to be viewed so that’s very frustrating. I CAN’T PROPERLY SEARCH FOR SONGS!!!! Also, if you’re done with Give Me Love, listen to Ed’s No.5 Collaborations Project Ep. As a graduating student, I don’t know why I can relate to the songs so much. BUT IT’S LIT AF (fire emoji, fire emoji, fire emoji) I SWEAR. I’ve been liking the Script’s If You Ever Come Back also. Well I have liked that ever since, and it really has so much meaning to me, but even know, it still hits right in the feels, in my heart, in my mind. I also gained appreciation of how the instruments and voices harmonizes to make something beautiful. My favorite part is at 1:08 and 2:18 before the chorus. The instruments and the voices combined into one beautiful... errr.. part. HAHAHAHA. LISTEN!!  So yeah music. ALSO MAYDAY PARADE OMG. The band name says it all. before I forget, I’m also in the middle of a 30-day music something challenge. I like that. It’s always me sharing something about me every day. SO it’s really beautiful. I wish more people would do that. Ghaad. I’m hungry. But I want to write more. HAHAHA. Anyway, I’ll be going home later. In like 8.5 hours. But I’m not yet sleeping so I don’t know what’ll happen. But it’s okay. Sleep is life. As if I’m sleeping well. OOOOHHH. I changed my profile picture in FB. It happened on one of the best days of my life. I was with family and we went on  partying till late at night. How I wish all of my days were like that. Fun and all. But it was a tiring day. We were standing and walking for too long. HAHAHA. But it’s with family so it’s all good. and good music with water sprayers so that’s better. There’s this one band who played, SUD, and i was the only one in our group who was singing. Cool experience. Cool.

For the first time in my life, I witnessed a public confession of love. So I had this friend Paul who loved a girl named Nicole. We were on ROC’s general assembly to talk about the future projects. Well we were at Telengtan Hall and everything was like going as planned, as what should happen in a general assemble. So yeah. Paul opens the door and pokes his head in. We asked him to join us. But to our surprise HE HAD FLOWERS!!!!!! So yeah I thought it’s only just a surprise for Nicole. BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE. He went inside the circle that we formed and started saying stuff. LIKE THE CHEESY STUFF LIKE LOVE , EVER SINCE YOU STUFF STUFF. AND I LOVE YOU STUFF. OMG OMG OMG!!! THEN HE SAID LIKE TO AVOID THE AWKWARD QUESTIONS IF THEY’RE BF/GF...... HE ASKED HER TO BE HER BOYFRIEND!!!! OMG OMG OMG. SHE TOOK THE FLOWERS AND SAID YES. THAT WAS SO COOL AND PAUL WAS SO COURAGEOUS. I SALUTE YOU PAUL. Anway, I had so much feels. hahaha.

By now, I think you’ve realized how much of a mess I am, how much of a contradiction I am, how I don’t make sense. Most of the times, I really do not make sense. Do know that I’m trying. I am always trying to be sensible.

But guess what? Even without trying, she makes sense to me. I met this girl. No. Let’s not dwell there. I know this girl. Stubborn, sensitive, cute and beautiful (she’ll never believe me though), smart (again she’ll never believe me), caring, fragile, loving, emotional, grouchy, clingy, snappy, quite lax, sleepy, soft. But most of all, she’s who she is. I love her for that. I love her for all of that.

 I made a mistake of trying to change who she was. I guess I hurt her way too much. But I’m lucky enough that she stayed. Maybe that’s the reason why I always think too much. I think too much because I don’t want her to get tired of me, to not love me. Because I love everything that she is. Maybe that’s the reason why I’m liking the night breeze. I’m liking it because I want to be with her during the moments when it’s too cold for me to handle or when the stars are showing off their beauty for the rest of the world to see in awe. Maybe that’s the reason I’ll go back to theater. I’ll go back to theater because it was in theater when we met, when we knew each other, when I learned how beautiful she is. So I’ll go back to theater to enjoy wMith her one last time this college. Maybe that’s the reason why I’ve been praying my daily ten minute prayers in front of the Blessed Sacrament. I’ve been praying lately because she’s one of the reasons why I am really thankful to the Lord. Believe me, I can’t thank the Lord enough for giving me the opportunity to love her. Maybe that’s why I’m still up early in the morning and hungry. I’m still up early in the morning and hungry because I can’t wait to talk to her again tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after, and the day after, and so on. Maybe that the reason why I’m also starting to listen to songs I liked before. Because before, everything didn’t really make sense. It was a childish me trying to force everything. But now, it’s really something else. Something worth the pains and the troubles of the past. Maybe that’s why I’m hungry and i want to write more because I can never write enough to give the best for you. That’s why I’ll just try me best all the time, although honestly, I fail. But there’s always space to write, right? Maybe that’s why I witnessed a public confession for the first time in my life because I needed to be reminded how much I love you. And how much I should cherish it. And how much of a blessing you are to me. But we’ll get there. We’ll get there. If it’s you, it’ll make sense. I love you. I don’t know dude. But it makes sense, right?
