loving when ppl write toshinori (all might) as smart. like the golden retriever personality is his, but works scarily like present mics DJ persona- we've seen toshi get serious, we've seen him break down,, and we know he'd put his life on the line for his kids- yet he still manages to put on his signature smile. He's been a hero for a little around 35 years,, he obviously knows how things are run. He knows police procedures off the back of his hand, he knows how to learn everything there is about a person in 30 seconds flat, he knows the tells of a disaster in progress, he has the hero mindset to a Tee. You walk in between both Shouta and Hizashi. They had called you up tonight to ask you to come over to play some spooky video game they had just gotten their hands on. As per usual, Shouta isn’t nearly as invested in this as Hizashi is, but there’s a look of mischief in his eyes.

“Is this a bogus story just to get me to come hang out? Like the one about the bat that bit you two last week?” You ask, skeptically wondering what the motive was.

Hizashi turns to face you, standing under a streetlamp, “I promise you that actually happened! We had to go see a doctor to make sure we didn’t have rabies.”

“Right right…rabies.”

Hizashi is about to grow defensive, but Shouta is eager to get back to his shared apartment with the loud blond. The three of you pile in the door, taking off your shoes and then going to the living room. Then Hizashi heads into the kitchen to get some refreshments for all three of you.

You sit on the tattered couch as Shouta boots up the old video game console. Just in time for the game to start., Hizashi sets down a bowl of popcorn and some sodas for all three of you. You wonder what this video game is really going to be like.

The screen is black at first, then the dripping red text appears on the screen. Video Vamps, the title reads. You’re a little more intrigued now. It seems like it could be something spooky and fun. It’s perfect for this time of year.

Hizashi is the first to wrap his arm around your shoulder and to pull you in even closer. He whispers in your ear, “If you get scared, I’m here to hold you.” You scoff at his words, but you do like being close to him.

Shouta starts the game. It plays like a very old Super Famicom game. He’s controlling what looks to be a teenager in an old mansion on the screen. The teenager fights off bats and skeletons with an old sword.

He beats a few levels, then he passes the controller to Hizashi. Hizashi smirks at the dark haired man. “I think I can continue, Sho.”

You snuggle closer to Shouta, and he wraps his arm around you. He pulls you even closer, surprising you in a way. He presses the softest little kiss on your forehead, which shocks you. Neither of them are shy about flirting with you, but Shouta usually is the more subdued of the two when it comes to affections.

One Hizashi has beaten a few more levels, he passes the controller back to Shouta. This goes on for a bit before the screen turns to black again. Then the same bloody red text appears on the screen. This time it says, ‘It’s too late to run…’

You look up for a moment, unsure of what it’s meant to be warning you about. This is when you realize you haven’t heard anything from either Hizashi nor Shouta in a bit. You look at both of them, but they are very fixated on the screen.

“Uh…so was that the end?” You finally inquire.

You’re met with even more silence. It’s becoming a little eerie in this way too. Usually Hizashi is quick with something clever to say, or Shouta is trying to be the logical one. But neither of them can tear their eyes away from the screen.

Then there’s a sudden loud noise. The screen turns bright red and both men seem to almost snap out of it. You look at Shouta then at Hizashi. Shouta smirks at you, loving the way fear is written all over your face. Hizashi grabs you and pulls you even closer.

“Didn’t we tell you something happened to us?” he whispers in your ear.

“N-no…wait…does this have to do with the bat?”

He laughs as he begins nipping at your earlobe before kissing down your neck. Shouta leans in and holds your wrists down. You try to break out of the tight hold, but it’s impossible. He’s got you pinned down pretty good.

“Look at the fear in her eyes, Loudmouth.” Shouta comments.

Hizashi laughs, “Oh she’s terrified.”

Before you even have time to react properly to what either of them are saying, Hizashi sinks his fangs deep into your neck. You cry out weakly, desperate to get away from him. You feel a warm liquid dripping down your neck and you know you’re bleeding.

When Hizashi pulls away, Shouta leans in to lap up the blood from your neck. He sinks his fangs in as well, drinking from you. Then they both pull away. Hizashi kneels before you, hiking up your skirt. Shouta nips at his own wrist, bringing it to your mouth.

“Drink, baby. Or else it’ll hurt more.”

His words don’t make sense, but you do as you’re told. You drink his blood, finding it more appealing than you could ever imagine. All the while, Hizashi has your panties pushed to the side.

“You’re greedy, Hizashi.” Shouta scolds him.

Hizashi smirks, “Can you blame me? I’ve been wanting to do this for so long.”

You’re trembling as this intense feeling overwhelms you. Hizashi’s warm tongue presses against your folds while Shouta is working on taking your shirt off. So much for being patient, you think to yourself. His hands are calloused and feeling so rough on your skin as he finally frees your tits.

Being back at U.A. always felt a little surreal. No matter how many years had passed since your time as a student, the halls still carried the same energy, the same excitement, the same faint scent of ink and sweat, the same distant shouts of students causing trouble. You’d agreed to be a guest speaker at U.A. today, mainly to share your experience as a Pro Hero with the students. It was a bit of a casual visit, with no intense expectations, just a way to inspire the next generation of heroes. Of course, Hizashi, Present Mic was assigned to show you around for the day.

Today, you were here as Pro Hero: Lumine, a guest for the day. Still, that didn’t mean you couldn’t steal a moment for yourself.

As you walked the halls, Hizashi right beside you, you kept up the act, casual, professional. You were here to speak to a few classes, answer some questions, maybe help out with some training. But right now, with no students or teachers in sight, you saw an opportunity.

You grabbed Hizashi’s wrist and pulled him around a quiet corner, just out of sight.

“Whoa babe?” he blinked, confused for a second, before a slow, knowing grin spread across his face. “Miss me already?”

You rolled your eyes but didn’t deny it. “You know I don’t get to see you much when I’m busy with work.”

His grin softened. “Yeah… I know.”

You let your hands rest against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. It was rare for the two of you to have moments like this. where the world outside didn’t demand your attention, where you weren’t constantly on duty, where you weren’t Pro Hero Lumine and Present Mic but just… y/n and hizashi.

Hizashi leaned in, resting his forehead against yours, his voice quieter than usual. “You sure we got time for this?”

“Barely,” you admitted. “But I’ll take what I can get.”

He chuckled, sliding his arms around your waist. “Y’know, you’re gettin’ real bold. Pullin’ me into a corner like some kinda secret rendezvous.”

You smirked. “What can I say? I see a tall blonde guy and my mind goes dumb”

“Really now, huh?” His voice dropped just a little, teasing. “So if I kissed you right now, would that be too exciting?”

You tilted your head, pretending to think. “Hmm… depends. Are you gonna be able to keep your voice down?”

“Oh, babe,” he grinned, leaning in just enough that his breath brushed against your lips. “That’s a real big ask.”

You huffed a laugh before finally closing the distance, pressing a slow, lingering kiss against his lips. Hizashi hummed in contentment, pulling you closer as if he could somehow make the moment last longer.

But the sound of voices approaching had you both reluctantly pulling apart. He sighed dramatically. “Duty calls, huh?”

“Duty calls,” you echoed, straightening his tie playfully. “Try not to look too lovestruck, yeah?”

“Pfft—too late for that, babe.” He winked before stepping back, adjusting his glasses like nothing had happened. But you caught the way his fingers brushed his lips, as if memorizing the feeling.

With one last glance, you turned the corner together back to being professionals, back to your roles, back to the world outside of this stolen moment. But as you stepped into the light, you knew you’d both be thinking about it all day. Though Hizashi kept up his usual energy as he led you through the halls, chatting away as he pointed out minor changes to the school since your time as a student. The occasional student would recognize you, whispering excitedly to their friends, but no one interrupted. Not yet, anyway.

Eventually, you both reached Class 1-A’s door. Hizashi grinned, wiggling his eyebrows at you. “Ready to meet the little hero’s ?”

You huffed a small laugh. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”

He clapped a hand on your shoulder. “That’s the spirit!” Then, without missing a beat, he flung the door open and practically bounced into the room. “YEAHHHH! WHAT’S UP, CLASS 1-A?! GUESS WHO I BROUGHT?” a collective gasp followed.

“Wait! that’s Pro Hero Lumine!”

“No way! They’re here?”

“Whoa, they’re so cool in person!”

Hizashi gestured toward you with a dramatic flourish. “That’s riiiiight! The one and only Lumine!” He shot you a look, and you barely held back a smirk.

Aizawa, standing at the front of the class, gave you both a blank stare, then sighed. “I assume you’re not just here to disrupt my class?”

“Aw, c’mon, Eraser, you know we had a guest today!!” Hizashi had a tragic frown on his face. “Lumine here is our guest speaker, remember?”

Aizawa raised a brow at you, and you simply shrugged. “I’m just along for the ride at this point.”

As you stepped forward, Hizashi continued, “Now, listen up, kiddos! Not only is Lumine one of the youngest Top 10 heroes—”

“—he’s really over explaining right now,” you interjected.

“—BUT!” Hizashi continued dramatically, ignoring your interruption, “they also happen to be my—”

You stiffened. Your what?

Luckily (or unluckily), Aizawa cut in smoothly, “Your former student. Yes, we’re aware.”

Hizashi blinked, then coughed, rubbing the back of his neck. “Right, yeah, my former student. That’s what I was gonna say.”

The students exchanged looks. Some, like Kaminari and Mina, were eyeing you both very suspiciously.

Mina leaned forward, grinning. “Ooooh, that pause was kinda weird, wasn’t it?”

Kaminari elbowed her. “Right? Like, what was he actually gonna say?”

“Probably something embarrassing,” Jirou muttered, smirking.

You shot Hizashi a look. Really? He gave you a sheepish smile in return. Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose. “Can we move on?”

You cleared your throat, stepping in to refocus the room. “Right! Anyway, I’m here to answer any questions you have about being a pro hero. So—”

But before you could finish, Kaminari blurted, “How do you know Present Mic so well?”

The whole class leaned in, clearly interested. You deadpanned. “We go way back.”

“How far back?” Mina grinned.

Aizawa sighed. “This isn’t relevant.”

“But it’s interesting!” Mina shot back.

Hizashi, bless him, was absolutely not helping, just standing there grinning like an idiot. You exhaled through your nose, crossing your arms. “Far enough that I have plenty of embarrassing stories about him, but not enough time to share them all.”

The class erupted.

“Oh, we need to hear those!”

“Please tell us at least one!”

You shot Hizashi a look, and he gave you an exaggerated shrug, eyes sparkling with joy.

After the class, as the students trickled out, you turned to Hizashi with a pointed look. “You’re doing a terrible job at hiding our relationship.”

He grinned, entirely unapologetic. “Oh c’mon, babe. You look real cute when you’re flustered.”

You rolled your eyes, but before you could leave, he caught your wrist, fingers warm against your skin.

“Hey.” His voice was quieter now, softer, missing its usual booming energy. He glanced at the empty classroom, then back at you. There was something unreadable in his expression, something almost hesitant. “Got a sec?”

You hesitated, Nezu had mentioned stopping by to check in on you, and you really should be heading to the next class but the way Hizashi’s fingers brushed over yours made it hard to say no.

“…Fine. But just a sec.”

Hizashi wasted no time, tugging you toward the classroom’s small storage area, pulling the door shut behind you. The space was tight, barely enough room for the two of you, and the moment you were alone, his hands found your waist, pulling you in close.

His voice dropped lower, rougher. “You drive me crazy, y’know that?” His thumb brushed over the fabric of your uniform, slow, deliberate. “Havin’ to watch you all day and not kiss you?”

You smirked, fingers slipping up his chest, feeling the warmth of his body through his shirt. “Must be so hard for you.”

“You have no idea.”

Then his lips were on yours urgent and deep, like he was making up for lost time. You barely had a second to react before you were melting into it, tilting your head to let him kiss you deeper. His hands slid up your back, one trailing to cup the back of your neck while the other stayed firm on your waist, keeping you pressed against him.

The kiss started slow, teasing, but it didn’t stay that way. The pent up energy from the entire day the lingering touches, the stolen glances, the way he had to hold back in front of the students spilled over into something more intense. Your fingers curled into the fabric of his shirt, pulling him closer, and he let out a quiet groan against your lips, the sound vibrating in his chest.

“Babe,” he murmured between kisses, “you’re killin’ me here.”

You smirked against his lips. “You started it.”

Hizashi let out a breathy chuckle, then dipped his head lower, lips trailing down your jaw, then to your neck. The scrape of his teeth against your skin sent a shiver down your spine, and your grip on him tightened.

“This is such a bad idea,” you whispered, tilting your head back to give him better access.

“Yeah?” His breath was warm against your throat. “Then why aren’t you stoppin’ me?”

You swallowed hard, knowing he had a point. “Because,” you admitted, fingers slipping up to to the back of his neck, “I missed you.”

That made him pause. Just for a second. Then he let out a quiet sigh, pressing a lingering kiss to your shoulder before leaning back just enough to look at you.

“I missed you too,” he murmured, voice softer now, more serious. His fingers brushed against your cheek, his thumb tracing your lower lip. “You’re always runnin’ around, savin’ the world, bein’ a top hero and all. Feels like I barely get time with you anymore.”

You exhaled, hands resting against his chest. “I know. I feel it too.”

For a moment, neither of you said anything. You just stood there, in that small, dimly lit space, his arms around you, your bodies still close, the world outside feeling miles away.

Hizashi’s fingers slid down your arms, his grip tightening around your hands. “Maybe after this, we ditch early. Get some real time together.”

You smiled. “You suggesting we cut class, Yamada?”

He grinned, pressing another kiss to the corner of your lips. “A little. Say you had to go save someone and take me with you”

You hummed, pretending to consider it. “Tempting.”

Before either of you could decide, a voice shattered the quiet. “You do realize this school has cameras, right?”

You both froze. Slowly, you turned to see Aizawa standing in the doorway, arms crossed, looking utterly unimpressed.

Hizashi, ever the professional, cleared his throat and adjusted his glasses, casually stepping away from you like that would somehow erase what just happened. “Hey, Eraser! How long you been standin’ there, buddy?”

“Long enough.”

You exhaled sharply. “Fantastic.”

Aizawa gave you both a long, pointed look, then sighed, rubbing his temples. “Just… keep it out of the classrooms.” Then, shaking his head, he walked away.

As soon as he was gone, Hizashi turned to you with a grin. “Welp. Busted.”

You groaned, burying your face in your hands. “I told you we’d get caught.”

Hizashi just laughed, slinging an arm around your shoulders. “Worth it.”

So, I started watching Hell's Paradise..

IT'S. SO. FREAKING. GOOD!!! ( Ramble under the cut! Spoilers and possible grammar mistakes ahead!!! )

I'm only on, like, episode seven, but I'm really enjoying myself!!!

Starting off with my boy, my man, my loverboy nonchalant Gabimaru!! His design immediately drew me in the first episode and I find his writing very good so far. A man, who was grown and groomed into being this emotionless killing machine only to dream of going completely against that all because of his love for his wife? SIGN ME UP!! I love how conflicted he is and how much those conflictions are weighing on him. How, because of how he was raised and what has happened to him, he's been treading this line and constantly tipping over the edge of "I'm a heartless, empty killer who's only purpose is to kill" and "I want to live a peaceful, normal life with the one I love/I don't want to kill anymore". The symbolism, how his character's portrayed, those small moments of vulnerability that shows how he differs from your typical cold killer and is actually just this morally broken guy who was raised/influenced by an actual monster; the head chief. ( Who, by the way, is literal nightmare fuel. I don't usually get creeped out easily by stuff in anime's, but the way Mappa went about drawing him is just..terrifying.. )

OH, AND HIS FIGHTING IS MMMM SO ADDICTING TO WATCH!! >.<

Next up is Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, or Sagiri for short. I want to first off get it out of the way by say that she's drop dead gorgeous. Imean, look at her!! No seriously, look-

As someone who absolutely adores strong female characters, it was no surprise that I fell in love with her! She reminds me a lot of Yona as she goes against what the norm was at the time and decided to become a swordsman despite everyone telling her she's better suited as a wife and mother simply because of the fact that she's a woman. ( Which irked me every. single. time. it was brought up btw ) I love how the author is going about her and how she struggles because she feels guilt for even the most evil of people simply because she's an empath--something that is often considered a womanly trait in the eyes of the people, especially men, of that time--but doesn't go too far with it and make her seem weak and useless because of those struggles. I like that, even though she hesitates and sometimes gets help from others ( mostly from Gabi from what I've seen so far ), she gets the job done and doesn't sit there and call for help like some damsel in distress and actually uses her strength!!

My love for her was explained pretty simply in episode six when Genji pointed out how she has the talent to be able to flip flop between being dominant and powerful like a man, but still holds the sense of gentleness and care one would only find in the heart of a woman. I love that quality about her in the same sense I love Mitsuri Kanroji's quality of being able to be cheery, feminine, and delicate despite being involved in such a 'manly' and grizzly job that being a demon slayer is.. AHHH IDK HOW TO EXPLAIN IT ANY FURTHER, I JUST HOPE YOU GET WHAT I MEAN!!

Next up is the vixen, Yuzuriha of Keishu. I haven't seen much of her yet, but I love her design and overall appeal. Although, she puts up this front of being this carefree, seductive airhead, you can tell there's just so much more to her and can't wait to see it. ( Although I feel like when she does show her true colors, it'll be when she finally betrays Gabimaru and Sagiri like she implied she would.. )

( Also this little stunt she pulled in this clip had me in a chokehold for a hot minute. Like MMMMM LOVE IT WHEN HOT WOMEN DO HOT WOMEN THINGS!! )

Toma and Chōbei are next up! When I first saw Chōbei, of course my mind immediately went to, "Oh shit, it's bakugo!" lmao- His fighting style is cool and his backstory is heartbreaking. Past that though, I'm undecided whether I like him or not..

Like, his backstory was tragic and had me feeling bad as a sad backstory would. It was also amazing in the sense that it gave me more understanding on why he became the way he did and how his mentality was shaped because of it. I find it cool that he has a knack of adapting to any situation too! ..And that's also why I'm so conflicted when it comes to him..

That leads me to bring up Toma, who I immediately fell in love with as soon as I saw his character design. ( I have a thing for men/boys with long hair, mkay? Don't judge me.. ) I haven't really wrapped my head around his character yet ( like his brother ) but it's obviously that he sorta idolizes Chōbei, so much to the point that he didn't hold any gripes towards him when he thought he was going to leave him for dead--which is my main dislike about Chōbei right now.

But yeah, if I had the chance, I'd still date them no questions asked- *smack*

I find Gantetsusai and Fuchi funny and cute together and overall find a good so far. I especially like Fuchi. He's a quirky little guy 😚

And finally, we have Nurugai and Tenza, who is ranking up to be my 2nd favorite pair in this entire show! Putting aside that Nurugai literally evokes my gender envy, I love her and Tenza both individually and together! I love Tenza's kind soul, how he scouted out Nurugai because he wanted to help her after finding out why she was sentenced to death row! I find it such a highlight of his character and it makes me love the contrast between his brighter self when compared to Nurugai, who's more gloomy and has been traumatized into adapting this matured mindset.

Bonus points for being the only two to not immediately get into it with each other when on the island as well! It really was a breath of fresh air! Oh, an extra points for making me smile like an idiot- 🥰

So far I'm in love with this show! Idk yet where it falls on my anime rankings, but it's definitely high enough up there to spur me to write a drabble or five about this show! Can't wait to watch more in my spar time!!

While there's a good amount of information out there in English about Nintama Rantarou, it feels like there's much less about the original manga, Rakudai Ninja Rantarou. To help fix that even just a little bit...

…I put together a guide to all the times Rikichi and Komatsuda appear together in the manga, with summaries and translations.

(I've also got a WIP guide to Rikichi + Komatsuda moments in the anime, which I'll eventually get around to formatting so I can post it on here. For now, here's a shameless plug to the current iteration.)

The first time they appear together is this panel, from the same chapter in which Komatsuda is reintroduced as the school's newest employee. They're entirely across the room from each other, but hey, it counts. They also both appear in a panel at the end of the volume, but they don't interact.

This is the first time they're actually seen interacting with each other, though Rikichi is in disguise at the time.

Komatsuda speaks of Rikichi casually, so they must've seen each other at least a few times before this. I'm sure Rikichi got a surprise the first time he came to the school and had Komatsuda chase after him to sign in.

Vol 23

Pages 161-167, 205

Now we're getting to some real interactions! This story focuses on a plot to get a warship schematic to the pirates; to avoid having it stolen by the Dokutake, the plan is to have each student memorize a part of it then have the pirates put all the parts together and decipher it using an encryption chart. Unfortunately, Komatsuda was the person chosen to deliver this chart.

Rikichi meets up with the teachers and students of 1-Ha to relay what happened when he ran into Komatsuda earlier.

From the way he speaks, it seems Rikichi has interacted enough with Komatsuda to have a pretty clear idea of how the boy tends to operate. On his way to the ocean, Komatsuda spots what looks to be a person laying in the bushes and goes to help them. “Komatsuda is such a kind person,” Rantarou says, to which Rikichi replies, "Kind, sure. But careless."

Komatsuda gets a closer look at the body and finds that it's just a doll. "Komatsuda!" Rikichi calls out, emerging from the nearby trees. "Don't pick up that doll!" When Komatsuda inevitably lifts it up...

(Earlier in the story, a doll resembling Yamada was used as a decoy since Yamada originally had the ship schematics)

After Komatsuda falls in the hole, Rikichi loses his trail. Don't worry, Komatsuda is safe and sound! And he even manages to hold onto the encryption chart.

Vol 27

Pages 95-99 (in disguise), 100-106, 109

This story revolves around explosives master Tadadouzen, who was kidnapped by the Dokuajirogasa ninja because he created a new type of artillery shell. Just when it looks like Komatsuda and Shinbei are going to be captured by a pair of Dokuajirogasa, one of the ninja who'd cornered them takes off his disguise and reveals himself as Rikichi… who is then interrupted by Danzou flying in and knocking the other Dokuajirogasa ninja out.

The kids are excited to go on a rescue mission, but ponder how Rikichi knows where Tadadouzen is. After giving them a murderous glare, Rikichi reminds them that the other Dokuajirogasa ninja just blurted it out: Tadadouzen is under the tea room near the back of the grounds. They go and search the room, but pulling the floorboards up reveals nothing. Shinbei gets glued to the wall by his snot, and when Rikichi pulls him off, it reveals…

For once it's not Komatsuda who causes Rikichi trouble, but Shinbei, who trips when getting into the stairwell. Komatsuda is still technically the one hitting Rikichi, but details. They find Tadadouzen and bust him out.

Rikichi carries the sensei, and Komatsuda is tasked with carrying the shell prototype that Tadadouzen made while imprisoned. From there, the group meets up with the rest of 1-Ha and we don't see Rikichi and Komatsuda together for the rest of the chapter.

Vol 30

Pages 76-79

Somebody ordered a case of fans from Komatsudaya, and Komatsuda was tasked with delivering them to the customers at Mushroom Valley… but he left the store before he learned exactly who the customers were. Everyone suspects it might be ninja who are planning on using them to perform the Kasumiougi no Jutsu (where ninja place poison inside a folding fan then blow the poison at their enemies). While in town, the group runs into Yamada and Rikichi.

The kids of 1-Ha ask Rikichi about his work. When Doi chides them, Rikichi says:

This is one of my favorite panels. The framing of Komatsuda staring blankly into the sky while standing behind Rikichi is beautiful.

Rikichi sheds some light on the situation: while investigating the Dokuajirogasa's use of poison for assassination, he found a group of Dokuajirogasa ninja waiting for someone in Mushroom Valley.

There Rikichi goes, zero to sixty in a second flat. I really like the addition in the anime where Rikichi gets caught up in Komatsuda's pace and cheerfully replies “Take care!” to Komatsuda before he yells at him, but Rikichi is too much of a brat in RKRN to say something like that. He's at least enough of a brat to then sarcastically praise Komatsuda, who's a little too dense to pick the sarcasm up.

Rikichi leaves after that.

Vol 32

Pages 59-63, 81, 86-87, 90-92, 104, 114 (all in disguise), 119

A suspicious leaflet advertising ninja work draws a motley crowd of professional and would-be ninja, including Komatsuda and his brother, Yuusaku. Their task is to sneak into a certain castle's outpost and retrieve some hidden documents. Just as they're all about to start the job, Rikichi disguises himself as Yuusaku and takes the man's place without anybody else knowing.

While it's probably the role least likely to draw attention to him, disguising himself as Yuusaku also means he'll be in constant contact with Komatsuda's, shall we say, personality. It doesn't take the usually professional Rikichi long to start breaking character. Luckily for him, nobody else had met Yuusaku before.

Rikichi does get some professional points back for his intel-gathering, as he's picked up some insider info on the Komatsuda brothers. He also helps throughout the job by supplying his ninja expertise, some of which he justifies Yuusaku knowing by saying things like "I make fans, so I have to be good at measuring angles."

Apart from the Rikichi and Komatsuda content, these chapters are great because we get to see expressions on Yuusaku's face that we'd never otherwise see. He makes lots of grumpy and cool expressions.

This is also the only time Rikichi (technically) calls Komatsuda by his first name:

We also learn the extent of Rikichi's skill and/or Komatsuda's obliviousness, as Rikichi was able to stuff an entire matchlock in Komatsuda's clothes without him noticing.

Rantarou eventually catches on that a civilian like Yuusaku couldn't possibly have the skills and knowledge that the man with them is displaying, and Rikichi takes off his disguise. Komatsuda confesses that he had absolutely no idea that his brother had been Rikichi in disguise, and then Rikichi says The Line.

“イライラするんだ君を見ていると!!”

From there, Rikichi leaves the group to complete a task elsewhere. I'm sad that Yuusaku was cut from the anime adaptation of this story; at least we finally got to see him in ninja clothes in season 31.

Vol 44

Pages 75, 86-90, 111-112, 118, 120, 132 (111-132 in disguise), 134, 143-144

Bouta brings news that something is stirring in Kikurage Castle: bad rumors are being spread about the castle's young master, and a beloved new vassal may actually be an enemy infiltrator. When Rikichi arrives at the scene, he spots a group of enemy Tofuntake ninja waiting for a signal to begin an ambush on Kikurage Castle. Unfortunately, when he leaves to bring this intel to the castle...

...he's interrupted by Komatsuda. They fall to the ground, Komatsuda right on top of Rikichi. And why did Komatsuda come to see Rikichi?

The next time we see Komatsuda, he's been captured by Kikurage ninja who found him wandering around the castle and took him for a Tofuntake ninja thanks to a letter that had been hidden in his collar. Komatsuda claims innocence and ignorance.

After the suspected vassal is exposed as a Tofuntake ninja, Rikichi reveals that he'd been disguised as a Kikurage ninja and had given Komatsuda the letter in order to perform the Hotarubi no Jutsu (wherein a ninja uses a fake document to lure the enemy out). Komatsuda, however, had no idea that he was going to be used for such a purpose. So Rikichi went back to "help" Komatsuda by giving him the letter... purely for his own goals. I adore the way Rikichi spins Komatsuda out of his ropes.

After everything settles down, the group departs. Rikichi is about to leave when Komatsuda drops a bomb on him:

Vol 57

Pages 43, 120-124

While running in the forest, Yamada and Shinbei come across a meeting between two ninja from different castles. After they return to the school, Rikichi briefly comes by to give a message to his father and the two of them set out after the ninja they saw, with Komatsuda in pursuit of their signatures. I love, love, love that Rikichi looks like he's having fun being chased by Komatsuda, like he's playing a little game with him.

The two ninja they saw were from Oomagatoki and Kawataredoki Castle, two castles which hate each other. It turns out the ninja are part of a group of Komatsuda's kouhai who graduated from the same ninjutsu school and are having a reunion picnic despite being on opposing sides. In order to throw off the suspicions of a pair of Oomagatoki ninja who came to investigate, the ninja fake a battle between themselves.

After the fake battle, a certain someone who was forgotten in the hustle and bustle returns to finally get Rikichi to sign in and out. Komatsuda almost manages to sneak up on Rikichi, but the man detects him at the last moment and shouts "Who's there?" before Komatsuda bursts out of the bushes wielding the sign-in sheet.

Some people might say that Rikichi was off his game, but maybe it's just a sign that Komatsuda is improving?

The graduate ninja say they don't think they're really cut out to be pro ninja and want to become "amazing clerks just like our senpai, Komatsuda!" which makes the boy in question blush.

And that's it! That's the last time they appear in the same panel!

I like that the manga and anime have different flavors of Rikichi and Komatsuda. Compared to the anime, their interactions in the manga certainly tend to be a bit more… forceful, I suppose I'd say, though much of that lies in how surly Rikichi is in the manga compared to the anime. Despite that one-sided antagonism on Rikichi's part, he shows an understanding of Komatsuda (though sometimes the boy defies common sense). He knows he can get away with being sarcastic with Komatsuda; he knows that to be subtle with Komatsuda is a losing game - except when he can use that obtuseness to his advantage. He even plays around with the boy because he knows that when he runs, Komatsuda chases after.

Komatsuda, for his part, can show a surprising amount of insight about Rikichi at times - except, of course, when it comes to understanding when Rikichi gets angry at him. The biggest example would be in volume 44 when he busts out the real reason Rikichi is avoiding his father. Komatsuda is someone who tends to forget or overlook things, but he also has good instincts. In the same volume, he can also immediately see that the smile Rikichi gives is all business, even though earlier in the series he took Rikichi's sarcasm at face value. Perhaps he'd observed Rikichi enough to be able to spot the difference.

Rikichi gets mad at, well, pretty much everybody throughout the course of the manga, but he shows a special ire towards Komatsuda probably because every interaction with the boy can turn into an exercise in chaos. When Rikichi says "go," he doesn't know if Komatsuda will go or stop or slam right into reverse. They're like oil and water, and Komatsuda is a flood.

For completion's sake, two other moments to note:

Vol 22, chapter 8: Both of them appear in the early pages of this chapter and are presumably in the same space, but we never see them in the same panel. Similarly, they both appear throughout vol 27, chapter 4, but only show up together in the same panel once at the beginning.

Vol 43, page 224: Komatsuda brings Yamada a package from his wife, so Komatsuda either a) got it directly from Rikichi, or b) picked it up from where Rikichi left it at the school, which means Rikichi would've needed to sign in/out.

Once all might told mic that he likes his smile and mic started to frown and look a bit upset and all might was like “HUH IM SRRY DID I DO SOMETHING WRONG?!” Mic just laughed and was like “no.. don’t worry but thanks bud, I’m not use to compliments especially ones about my appearance..” all might felt bad and hugged him “it’s alright zashi..”

Mic is one of the few who knows what all might has gone through and how he actually feels(not all of it but most) but all might doesn’t know a lot about how mic actually feels and what he’s been through (it’s hard to get the both to open up but it’s harder to get mic to open up) so all might always tries to get hizashi to open up but he mostly fails. He knows about a friend that died, and his anger and guilt but that’s about it.

All might has shit music taste and mic always tries to get him to listen to better music and whenever he does and he like idk puts on a song that’s better all might just like “what is this..” and mic just reply’s with “come on dude it’s better then whatever shit you listen to, just.. vibe”

All might was the 2nd person mic came out to and was the 2nd to know about his crush on aizawa or about their relationship. All might was obv very supportive and tries to show his support the best he can, he once tried to bake him a cake (a rainbow one ofc) but.. uh it failed. and with that mic was the first to know about all might being gay/ace and aromatic mic was shocked but then hyped him up, they’re both just support buddy’s for eachother.

brief reviews of all the manga i read while i was procrastinating from finishing my anime reviews

instead of actually watching a lot of the new anime that's coming out this season, and also instead of writing the anime reviews i had been planning to write for the previous three and a half months, i read a ton of manga in my downtime. here's what i read:

kindergarten wars: action romcom? say fucking less. it nails both sides of that dichotomy very well, though i'm still waiting for a little more commitment to the romance side. it gets surprisingly heavy at times and those emotional beats pack some serious punches. this is gonna make a banger of an anime one day.

blue box: save for dungeon meshi and maybe frieren, this is my favorite manga i've picked up so far this year. a damn good slice of life romance and a damn good sports manga at the same time. i'm beyond excited for the anime this fall.

hirayasumi: god, this rips. cozy as fuck, sweet as all get out, but doesn't shy away from portraying its characters as jealous, selfish people when things don't go their way. the art has a lovely sketchy vibe to it; almost gives off "grown up skip and loafer" vibes, and how appropriate that the scanlation group handling it also does skip and loafer! already bought the first volume.

kagurabachi: i hated the memes surrounding this manga when it debuted and never once found them funny, but i eventually gave in and picked it up while it's still relatively new. it's solid! i can see this continuing to improve as the mangaka finds more of a voice. some really excellent splash pages and i can see this being adapted into a really good-looking anime somewhere down the line.

the way of the househusband: it's pretty one-note as gag manga go, but it's a very funny note. seeing an ex-yakuza tackle daily mundanity with the exact intensity you'd expect is always great. it can get a little repetitive, and it even lampshades its running jokes, but it still works most of the time. the art is OUTSTANDING in this too.

telework yotabanashi: i already talked about this when i finished it and it's a short one but it's worth mentioning. kintetsu yamada can do no wrong. i adored sweat and soap so i knew i was gonna like this one, and i was right! very satisfying despite its length and a very lovely story for a very specific moment in time.

tales of wedding rings: yes, the anime drove me halfway insane until i dropped it, and i went ahead and read the manga anyway. it's decent as trashy isekai go. the story goes in a slightly unexpected direction and it's very slowly approaching the finish. the surprising thing was that all of the nudity in the anime was anime-original; the manga doesn't really lean into full-on nudity until a major story climax (lol) and from there the floodgates burst open (lol). my complaints from watching the anime still stand, and the anime still looks like dogshit (especially compared to the source material), but i'll finish it out.

i also read nozoki ana but uh, we're not gonna talk about that today.

It's Tuesday, and I can immediately hear the vibrations coming from my phone. All I can think of is Info. I'm pissed right now because my plan with Shidesu completely failed. I did all those favors for nothing. I am a bit happy that I did take my anger out on one of the rival delinquents since now I don't have as much of an urge to kill as before. But the urge just might come back if Info is texting me because of a new rival.

But there is a silver lining. I might have ruined his chances with my darling. I blamed all my injuries on him, and I think that it might have worked. My darling will start to think that Shidesu is more violent than he actually is, and he won't want to be anywhere near him.

I grab my phone, and I check the message.

Plan failed?

Interesting. I thought she was going to talk about something else. But there has to be more to this. She wouldn't check up on me just to check up on me.

Yeah.

I then close the application. I resist the urge to throw my phone against the wall or on the ground. I grip it tightly, and it feels like I could break it if I just held it a little tighter.

Every time.

Every time I try to have my darling all to myself, someone has to come in and mess it all up! All those bastards have to come in and claim that they are the one for him, but they could never be the one for him! I'm the one for him! We have been together since childhood, and he picked me over everyone else. The same has to happen again.

It has to. He has to pick me.

I'll make him see that I am the prefect and only option for him.

I go into school with a mission. It's simple, but it needs to be effective. After I switch out my shoes, I go looking for my darling. I walk around the hallways that he usually walks 7 I find him, but with someone else. It's neither of the older Yamada siblings, even though I slightly wished it was them over their younger, more annoying brother.

I see the youngest Yamada sibling clinging to my darlings arm, acting as if my darling is all his. They walk down the hallway where the cooking club is located, and then I see the younger of the two let go and go into the club.

Perfect.

My darling is waiting outside and on his phone. I don't know why he doesn't go inside with Hanako, but it doesn't matter all that much to me. This is the perfect time to go and approach him.

As I approach him, he is completely distracted by his phone. I wonder what he is looking at? I hope he isn't looking at someone else's pictures. I don't know what I would do if I saw him doing that.

I tower over him, and I tap his shoulder. I notice that he jumps, and I can't help to find it cute. I know it's wrong to find his fear cute, but that emotion looks so good on him when he expresses it through his jumpy movements.

He almost drops his phone as he turns around and looks at me. I swear, I heard his voice quiver as he noticed that I was the one standing behind him. He quickly puts his phone away and greets me with a shy tone. I greet him back, but then it's silent. He seems scared to tell me anything, and I'm frozen in place because his attention is all dedicated to me now. I think I will start seeing pink again.

He crosses his arms over his cheat and looks up at me. "So, is everything okay now, Ayato?" He asks me with a soft and gentle tone, I'm sure he doesn't want other people to listen and question what we are talking about.

"A bit better," I answer. Truthfully, I haven't been bothered by the injury. If I move in certain directions, it does hurt, but other than that, it's not bothering me at all. But I could use this to my advantage.

"But I was wondering," I start off, "If you could switch out my bandages?" I try my best to look a bit sheepish when I ask.

"Don't tell me you haven't changed them!" My darling gasps and scolds me. I bask in the feeling of him being worried over me. I love it when he becomes worried over me, I know that once we get married, he will be such a doting husband.

"I have... but it hurts when I do it all by myself," I have changed my bandages over the past day, but like before it hurts when I move in certain directions so putting new bandages on becomes a struggle very quickly.

"We could go to the nurse's office and have her help you, would you like that?" He sounds so gentle when he asks me. The softness of his voice makes my heartbeat faster, I just hope my feelings aren't present on my face.

"I'm just worried," I confess to him, "It's a stab wound, and I'm sure she'll ask what happened." What I'm saying is an actual concern that I have. If it was a minor injury, then I wouldn't care that much, but a knife was shoved into my side, and it will definitely cause her to get worried.

I see my darling start to think for a moment. His thinking face is so cute. His eyelids lower a tiny bit, and it's clear that he is in a daze. After a quick moment, he stops thinking and looks at me with a bright smile.

"I know! How about I get the bandages and all of the supplies, and we go to the bathroom and I help you out there, would that work?" I like his plan a lot. The two of us could be alone together in the bathroom, all while he has his hands on me. I know it won't be anything intimate, but my mind can't help to wonder about the possibility that it could become that.

"Yeah," I simply respond. I see him turn around and go into the Cooking Club. He must have gone to go and talk to Hanako. A small smile appears on my face because he is leaving behind that childish boy for me. My darling didn't even mention to me that he was with him, I wonder if he even cares for that boy that much?

He comes back out quickly and leads the way towards the nurses office. When we make it to the nurse's office, he tells me to stay outside while he goes inside. I wait outside, and he comes out with the bandages, cotton balls, and rubbing alcohol. We make our way to the closest bathroom, and we go inside.

The bathroom is dimly lit by the weak lightbulb. The bathroom looks like it's straight out of some horror movie. It feels like something could jump out of one of the stalls. We walk over to the sink, and my darling places everything inside of one of the sinks. There are no counters, so that's the best he could do.

"Do you want me to help you take off your shirt?" He asks me with a nervous tone. It's clear he knows that the sentence sounds odd, but he still wants to help me nonetheless. How adorable.

I decide to take the opportunity, and I nod my head. He responds with a small 'Okay', and he gets close to me. The closer he gets to me, the more I freeze. He does something to me that I can't explain. It's like I can't get close to him, or else I'll be trapped in a daze.

I can feel his gentle fingers start from the top of my white button-up. He starts to remove the buttons from their holes, and he does it slowly. It almost feels like he's teasing me, like he wants something more.

Eventually, he gets to the last button, and my chest is now fully exposed to him. He can now see the bandaged area more clearly. The new bandages are soaked in a little bit of blood, but it's not as bad as the first set of bandages. He starts to unravel the stained bandages, and once it's all off, he places them in the garbage. He then starts to work on my wound. He cleans it and then places new bandages on me.

To me, it all happens fast, but that could be because I'm still lost in my daze. His soft figures always graze my skin, and it's intoxicating. I wish he could make the lingering feeling last longer. It's all over in five minutes or so, and he buttons my shirt back up. He goes to wash his hand in one of the sinks and then goes to grab the supplies.

We both walk out, and I can't help but follow him like a puppy. I wished it would be the opposite. I want him to be the one to follow me, but this is fine, too. He goes back to the nurse's office and puts everything back. When he comes back out, he jumps at the sight of me.

"What's wrong?" I really couldn't help myself from asking. Did he not know I was behind him the whole time?

"I'm sorry, Ayato! I thought that you left already! Is there something wrong?" He looks so confused, and he looks even cuter with his confused face. But I need to stop myself from staring at him. If I keep staring, he is bound to get creeped out and walk away from me.

"Can we hang out? Just the two of us?" I ask, and I could feel the world stop at my words. It's as if I was never supposed to ask him that again in this lifetime.

"Oh! Um, I wouldn't mind. But I have to tell Hanako," He sounds unsure, and it makes me a bit mad. Why is he so unsure? "Do you want to hang out the whole day?"

"Yes."

Persona 6: Taro Yamada and Pagliacci (the protagonist)

Overview, Background and Setting

It had been long enough since the Old Theater collapse that rescuers were no longer looking for survivors as they cleared the rubble. Yet somehow, they found a survivor. A boy, around 16-17, who was not only alive, he was almost completely unharmed. He was so okay that he stood upright on his own power and walked right past the stunned rescue workers. He didn't get far before they overcame their shock and got him to sit down.

From his tattered clothing, it was clear the boy was a student at Ueno High, but no one was able to find any more information. He had near complete amnesia, so he wasn't any help. There were no records of him, neither teachers nor students recognized him, and there were no missing person reports that matched.

The boy, given the placeholder name Taro Yamada, scored well on tests but didn't remember anything about his own past. After several weeks of observation, a wealthy benefactor intervened and said he would sponsor Taro to go back to school. He passed the entrance exams as well as the first year exams, and with a wealthy patron, well... who was anyone to argue? A cover story was concocted that he was a transfer student and he was set up with a small apartment not far from the school.

Unlike previous protagonists, you can't choose Taro's name. After all, it isn't a name, it's an appelation. Like John Doe. However, you do get to choose the name of the Fool Arcana (coming soon).

Strangely, when he enters the Artscape, he appears as a woman. This doesn't bother him, though other characters are a bit thrown off by it. He doesn't have an explanation either, at least not until late-game. Taro still goes by "he" in this form.

In both forms, he has almost the same build. Outside of the Artscape, he tends to dress in vibrant and eye-catching clothes with a vaguely feminine style to them, while his form in the Artscape wears a black bodysuit with a white short jacket. Both forms have green hair so dark it's almost black, cut in a disconnected fade style. In the real world, he wears it messy, but in the Artscape, it's much neater and falls over one eye.

His weapon is a dagger, which he stabs into the palm of his hand to summon his Persona

Starting Persona: Pagliacci (The Fool)

"Pagliacci is a stock character from Commedia Dell'arte meant to represent the long-suffering everyman. Though initially a comic figure, he evolved into a metaphor for artistic martyrdom, reaching his epitome in the tragic opera of the same name." -- Background

"So you have chosen to suffer for your art. To laugh at the sorrow that has rent your heart! I am thou, and thou art I. Now, put on the costume, the powder, and the paint! Perform the play, though wracked with grief! The comedy is not yet finished as long as one still laughs!" -- Pagliacci, Persona 6

Pagliacci specializes in dark elemental attacks in the early game. Unlike most starter Personas, Pagliacci does not become outmoded, instead becoming a permanent summon that doesn't take up a Persona slot. He offers unique skills as the Fool Confidant advances.

Pagliacci appears as an exaggerated whiteface clown. It is extremely long and lanky, dressed in white from head to toe, except for a black skull cap and an iron frill that separates its body and head (literally), and large black buttons along its body that are actually nails driven into it. Despite this, it smiles, though with a single black tear painted under its right eye.

Yandere Riddle, Clark, Sano Yamada, Omega with a reader who loves them more than life itself always being affectionate and smothering them with love and getting all gooey when she's around them, always complimenting them when anyone asks about them and saying that one day will marry them.

Riddle

He would be so happy all the time. If a meteorite crashed on earth on burned down an entire city, it’s no problem for riddle. He’s just happy his wife loves him so much! Riddle would defiantly show his love back whenever he could, which is like always. He’d take out the trash, cook(even when it doesn’t turn out so well) and do the laundry. Readers affection is like a drug to him. Setting him off on a hundred things and keeping his mood up constantly. Almost nothing could make him mad. All his thought are filled with reader and he’d giggle at the though of her adoration. Pride would also come forward within him. Riddle would look at others in the grocery store and think ‘ha! What losers, they wish they could have someone as wonderful and beautiful as my wife. But that’s it, she’s mine! And I’m her husband!’ Reader would have to be careful so the compliments don’t go to his head. Riddle is the kind of person that would think he’s immortal if his wife told him he was. ‘Haha, I’m indestructible!’

Sano

Sano would be over the moon if reader loved him that much. Being someone who’s not considered ‘the same level’ as reader made thing harder for him. If he could be popular, he would. But no one seemed to like him no matter what he did. He was always polite, and helped people when he could, so why did no one like him? This did nothing to his confidence. Having more of a loner personality would make him shy to his darlings affections. Eventually though, as time goes by, Sano would come out of his shell and openly accept his love’s touches more. At first, giving him compliments woudnt seem like a bright idea since he’d refuse them and say they’re not true. But if you continue to build his confidence he’ll gladly accept flattery. If reader started saying she’ll marry him and such, he’d be very susceptible to those ideas. After graduation of course! Despite how much he loves you and being a yandere, Sano is actually agaisnt getting married early. He has seen many shows and heard stories of people getting married young and ended badly. He didn’t want that to happen to his relationship. So he’d be content in just simply being together for a couple years until you’re both mature and ready to take the next step.

Clark

This teddy bear wouldn’t be able to handle all the affection. You really want to be his mate? Really!? He knew having a human mate would most likely make things a little more difficult, so he never imagined it going this smoothly. It was such a relief that you weren’t scared of him like others were, instead you accepted and loved him for him. Gosh he was so happy he could die! Now you two could start a life together and live in the domestic bliss he always longed for. Hybrids don’t have marriage in the same sense as humans do. Yes, there is ‘mating’ itself, and it is basically marrige to them. But it’s more of a ‘I found you and really love you so let’s keep on living together forever!’.

So there’s no actual ritual you go through. However, since hybrids are now allowed to be with their human counterparts legally and in the open, they have begun taking part in the so-called ‘human-traditions’ for the sake of their mates. All in the order to make them happy. While a paper and a piece of metal around their finger might not be significant to the hybrids, they’d gladly go through with it for their mate. And that stays the same with Clark, he would do anything for you! That’s why when you started rambling about wishing to get married, the giant was about to instantly rush down to the courthouse and get your licence, carrying you in his arms.

Omega

Haha… it had worked. It had WORKED!! Now you were finally his, and only his. He wouldn’t share your other any other lowlife omega that didn’t possess even a quarter of his looks. And all that wealth you had, that was his as well. Not that he wanted to be with you soley because of your money, no, he did love you. The money was just a bonus. And if you happened to go bankrupt, he’d stay with you anyways. He would even sell his stuff to help you out. But, there’s no harm in treating yourself, right? The omega didn’t grow up with the best conditions so it was nice to get to actually have some things now.

And he’d absolutely float in the affection you give. The omega would play shy and pretend he didn’t enjoy your blatant flirting. (Secret; he does)

Of corse he’ll marry you! Why wouldn’t he? It would be a fabulous wedding there no doubt about it. All his former coworkers would be invited to gawk at all the beautiful things they’d never acquire. Oh yes, your former fiancée could come if they want. That would make the whole thing all the more satisfying. They can cry and beg as much as they desire, but you were his and he belonged to you. Heartbreak is sad, isn’t it?

Entrance Exam

A/N; So i think i've been doing well so far, i wont be writing ever single thing but i will write bits and pieces. The outfit above is what she wears to the entrance exam. The image isnt mine it just fits the description so ignore the hair face and everything that doesn't match. Enjoy~

I wake up to the sound of my alarm, it feels like someone banged my head into a wall. Don't ask how I know how that feels, I have a hell of a brother.

I take a bath-or shower whatever- then put on blue denim shorts, a black longsleeve, roundneck top, a blue baggy jacket to match the shorts, black socks and white sneakers-or runners- then grab a black hat and head downstairs for breakfast.

Mom and Suki are already at the table when I get downstairs and I'm guessing dad's still in bed since he has a day off today. I greet mom good morning but ignore Suki, just to piss him off. He glares at me throughout breakfast but says nothing.

When we're done wit breakfast, i head out with Suki, sort of excited for the entrance exam. I'm still thinking about the whole ordeal with Midoriya and his new quirk so I almost don't hear when my brother breaks the silence. 

"Remember what I said yesterday?" Suki sunddenly says as we near the UA campus.                                                                                               

"Yea I remember" he hums in acknoledgment before we settle into comfortable silence as we enter the school. The first thing we did was written exams which im pretty sure I aced. Now it's time for the practical exam. 

I should probably look out for Midoriya to see if he actually has a quirk now, if he's even here that is. I look around my surroundings, I was split up from Katsuki once we entered so I'm on my own right now. Its a very big place. It looks somewhat like a city.

Apparently we're fighting robots, and we have to aim for the most points. This shit ain't gonna go smoothly. From what I uderstand from the long explanation we were given;

Each defeated Villain Bot is worth a certain amount of points, which are assigned to the Bots according to their difficulty level:

1 Point - Easy Villains

2 Points - Medium Villains

3 Points - Hard Villains

0 Points - Arena Traps

So my main goal is the 3 pointer and the 0 pointer. I figured they wouldn't have added a 0 pointer if it wasn't strong. If it was weak, it would be useless since it'd be easy to take down.

I also think there might be just 1 or or very little 0 pointers since i haven't seen any. I should have like at least 95 points now. This has been a piece of cake for me so far. Suddenly, the ground shakes and I see a huge robot barreling it's way towards my side of the fake city. 

This is the 0 pointer isn't it? I knew it was gonna be bigger than the rest! Fuck!  The huge robot start smashing and destroying things and I have half a mind to just blow it up. But I can't do that, it would hurt everyone around. Just then, I see Midoriya run towards the robot and smash a hole into it. 

So he does have a quirk now, damn bastard, that's cheating! He destroyedd the bot, but did the same to his arm, seems like he doesn't know how to control it properly. Either that or he's getting side effects from having his quirk transferred.

A voice from a speaker somewhere goes off, "AND THAT'S THE END OF THE PRACTICAL EXAM KIDS! GREAT JOB BEING SUPER HEROES FOR THE DAY!"  Is it just me or does that voice sound very similar to Yamada? Is he a teacher here or something?

I get snapped out of my thoughts suddenly when an old woman I recognize walks by me to get to the injured Midoriya. Recovery Girl? What's she doing here? Whatever, I should get ready for my next practical exam.

I walk out and into the large hall that was made for the people that needed to rest after the exam. I spot Katsuki sitting on one of the benches in thecorner, looking constipated as usual.

I walked over to him as he raises his head so his eyes could meet mine. He looks pretty smug so I guess he got a high score on his first practical exam.

"How was it?" I ask, already knowing he's gonna brag about his scores, even if they aren't gonna make up the total.

"Easiest shit I've ever done, where they even trying to make it hard?!" he yelled in my face, feeling proud of himself. "I got 77 points! Amaizing right?!"

"Great job Suki" I said simply, my head poundidng from all the thinking and secrets that I have yet to tell him about. "What'dya get?" he asked, probably thinking I didn't listen to him and got lower.

"About 95 I think" he smirked wider at that, sometimes I wonder how he can be proud of someone who's better than him in strenght and quirk, shouldn't he hate me? "Glad you didn't fuck up dumbass!" 

I scoff "Come on, lets get going" I say and turn around as he follows closely behind me, still bragging about his scores and how amaizing he was. Maybe i should just enjoy this moment and not let Midoriya's cheating ass take up my mind.

Alright so sorry if these are short, writing a lot in one chapter gives me writers block and hedaches, hope you're liking the story so far!

Rudy Recs - Smoking Behind the Supermarket

I'm not really sure if I want to get too in the weeds for this manga but the latest 2 chapters (32 and 33) of Smoking Behind the Supermarket by Jinushi have felt like a step up in their craft that really made me pay more attention to the pages.

Spoilers for the manga if you're interested in reading it!

I remember starting this manga thinking that the concept was kind of fun. An older man working at a black company developing a crush on the cashier at his local convenience store, who happens the be the same person as the girl he starts having smoke breaks with outside. He's constantly stressed and a bit clueless and can't recognize that the two women are actually the same, since their on and off the clock appearances are so different.

The style was always pretty unique and charming but I'd say it felt pretty utilitarian in a way: no really intricate compositions or focal length, it's all quite flat and clear.

It looks this way basically all the way up until these latest chapters, with much more detail in hatched shadows, hair detail, and closer compositions that really make you pay attention to the art more-so than before.

The story generally stumbles through Sasaki, the black company employee, and Yamada, the cashier, smoking together after their shifts and getting closer to one another despite their generational gap and Yamada continuing to life the farce of being a separate individual, dubbed Tayama-san. Sasaki is generally clumsy and out of the loop, but his earnestness and easy to read nature makes Yamada continue to poke and prod him, like playing with a pet. She slowly develops an attachment to him because even if he's a bit out there, he's very considerate and gives off an air of someone with life experience that disarms Yamada when she leasts expects it.

There's a big story reveal that on their first meeting, the two both had personal revelations based on their short interaction. We know that Sasaki was charmed by Yamada and her smile (which particularly affected him because he was having an awful day at his job) but Yamada had been struggling with her own job and Sasaki came by and gave her advice that grounded her, yet she doesn't realize that it was Sasaki that was the man who spoke to her that day, only getting a vibe from current Sasaki that feels of a similar energy.

It's only in the most recent 2 chapters that we see both characters feels this nagging urge to want to reach out for companionship in ways that they don't really understand, weighed down by their different circumstances in life.

This ramps up the romantic tension soooo much so quickly that I found it INCREDIBLY gripping! I've been keeping up with this one for a while and it had its charm but suddenly I felt like "ohh, I get a sense for what these characters want and their yearning is so palpable."

The chapters end with this incredibly somber and bittersweet note, these characters are too conscious of the obstacles that keep them from truly being close and open with each other beyond the level they've reached and convince themselves individually that they are drawing a line.

I'm suddenly so interested in how these characters will grow and if they'll find it within themselves to change their minds about what they think they want or even deserve.

To bring it back full circle, I think that if the art is any sort of visual indicator, Jinushi might be taking their little romcom series more seriously and I'm really on board with wherever this story goes next.

IM HEARING SO MUCH ABT THE NEW DRAMA TRACK ON HYPMICTWT BUT WHAT THE HELL EVEN HAPPENED IN IT....

a lot lol!!!! some spoilers below:

the most plot relevant stuff i can think of off the top of my head (i’m letting it stew before my next listen lol)

since the mics are offline and it’s causing issues gentaro takes initiative and goes to ichiro with his infamous documents and reveals he knew rei’s name was yamada rei this whole time

genbro was taken out by the special forces in some manner

even if we don’t know whether or not gentaro and his bro are twins as per the popular hc, gentaro refers to him as his older brother

the true hypnosis mic is the center of the drama so ichiro requests they take this info to jakurai as well

we get a nifty party of ichiro gentaro and jakurai investigating leads to find a way to turn the mics back on that eventually leads them to rei’s lab i think??? a facility of some sort that they need clearance for and jakurai calls hitoya to get said access

these four, as the block party is underway, find a computer guarantee to have info they’re looking for but it’s too secure for gentaro to hack into

ichiro says the password is 0123 and yep it sure was lol

we learn yamada mama’s name is nayuta

gentaro jakurai and hitoya are called away because the block party has been crashed and ichiro is left behind with whatever information is left on this computer

running practically simultaneously, rio learned that the chuuoku women have been arrested from kubiki and, rather regretfully, tells samatoki and juto he can’t participate running the block party

upon relaying why, samatoki is worried for nemu so he tags along with rio to infiltrate the prison where rio’s commander should be

in a wild coincidence, dice happened to have been hanging out with mtc during block party preparations to eat rio’s food and had passed out in a food coma lol. after rio and samatoki left for the special prison, dice, very sombrely, left to follow them

samatoki and rio successfully infiltrated the prison, with dice shadowing their every move, and find otome and ichijiku locked up

we see rio get very angry when they act cagey about iojaku’s whereabouts

samatoki and rio split up so samatoki can check if the cells house nemu and rio can find his commander

it’s after they’ve left that dice comes in and frees otome and ichijiku

nemu had been planning to break otome and ichijiku out this whole time and her mission just so happened to run at the same time as rio’s lol so samatoki and nemu run into each other

ofc samatoki’s happy to see her but samatoki questions is this really the path nemu wanted to make??? but samatoki softens up and is always ready to help if she needs it

rio finds iojaku in his cell and out of his mind. he’s banging his head against the cell when rio finds him and unresponsive to rio but he is secured

iojaku does seem to regain some consciousness as they leave the prison tho

and the block party, all’s fcked lol honobono showed up with her squad and brought the tobari bros and the men they amassed along for the extra fck this shit up goal she had lol

of those left at the party (2️⃣3️⃣🐰🍭🥂👔🎋🍮📿🌙) saburo, ramuda, dohifu, rosasa and jyushi were urged to get to safety. rosho tho, pissed that the party’s been ruined, charges into battle and sasara follows after him with a mic stand as his weapon

but it was a lot of people for five guys to contain so the damage done was great

the tobari bros wind up finding some of guys who escaped, one of which was ramuda, and the burly tobari actually starts choking ramuda for standing up to him

he’s saved by jakurai and co arriving at the scene and jakurai makes quick work of the thugs surrounding them

the frieza tobari got away from jakurai but kuukou was on his tail and he’s also shortly beat down

brave soul hifumi goes to confront honobono and upon hearing hifumi still sees her as a friend, she’s a little disturbed to hear it actually

she’s seen enough tho so she retreats and it must turn the tide as well since the bad guys are out commission as well

at some point rei i believe reveals the 2nd drb was a test to find someone who can use the true hypnosis mic

i didn’t catch all that was said but throughout the conversation rei expressed a very defeatist mentality, but ichiro beats (literally) his words into rei that changes his mind to reactivate the hypnosis mics

it is a reckoning bell for the 3rd drb tho

with the mics back on ichiro leaves rei behind to catch his slot in the performance and rei nurses his wounds watching the block party alone in this ruined house by their fight

ichiro goes on stage tho with the hypnosis mics online again and signalling a hope

and lastly, back with otome, ichijiku and nemu, as the three get their bearings and muse what’s the next phase, otome, moved by dice’s words to her as he freed her, tells them that she’s retiring from politics

Nayuta Yamada waking up and FINDING OUT about all the drama. Her husband managed to find out a way to wake her up, worked with a new government that staged a coup, his kids disowned him and believed she was dead, and he made 30+ clones that were used for sacrifices on the hypnosis mic prototype. What happens when she wakes up and sees his cast from his broken arm that their son did 😭 i also hope shes actually an interesting character and not just that 'perfect dead wife' trope thingy. Ik i saw a great Nayuta headcanon that i REALLY want to be canon. I also hope we get a Nayuta design drop. Personally, I dont think she'll overly look like Ramuda bc Rei knew what the Ramuda clones were used for, so I doubt hed want to see her likeliness keep dying.
