Isn't there a spider that raises tiny frogs to protect them?
yeah!!! the frogs protect the spiders eggs (eats bugs that would predate on the eggs) and gets protected in turn <3

fun fact time:
- Sharks have been around on earth longer than trees have
- there was a little girl recently who found an old sword on a lake around where the stories of king Arthur are thought to have taken place
- a group of bunnies is called a fluffle
- crows have regional accents depending on where in the world they live. so do cows iirc
- bees like to play
- otters have a favorite rock they keep with them at all times
- there's a species of tarantula known to cohabitate with very tiny frogs (they keep their eggs safe from pests who get in the spider's nest)
- when we first started making penicillin it was often recycled from the patient's urine because it was so difficult and time consuming to create even small amounts
- Sappho once wrote about adorning herself/her lover in garlands of broccoli
- there was a pope whose skeleton was put on trial
- there's a pigment of paint that used to be made called emerald green that was made out of copper arsenic. It was very popular, being used for paint, wallpaper, clothes, etc
- one of the major holes in Earth's ozone is predicted to be completely sealed in the next 40 years or so
- they're working on finding a way for people to regrow teeth (technically we have the gene to perpetually regrow them like sharks, but there's a little bit of code in there that tells the body Do Not Do That)

top creetures (other than bats)?
Oh hell yeah. Time for some of my favourite Creatures.
5. Black Mambas
Tumblr media
My favourite snake!!! They're the fastest snake iirc, and are so called because the inside of their mouth is completley black and shaped like a coffin! They have potent neurotoxin, and are the second longest type of venemous snake after the king cobra. they are so cool. Here's one with its mouth open.
Tumblr media
4. Tarantulas! (Cobalt Blue)
Tumblr media
Like isopods, I love all tarantulas, but I wanted to get a little more specific so here's the Cobalt Blue tarantula! How pretty is it??? This thing is just the coolest.
3. Jumping spiders
Tumblr media
I'm not actually much of a spider guy. I know this list implies otherwise but they kinda freak me out. However Jumping spiders are just teeny little bundles of cute. I cannot be afraid of this thing. Plus they're like. Really intelligent! They can calculate the trajectory of their jumps and have eyes sensitive enough to see the moon :)
2. Bearded Vultures
Tumblr media
Look me in the eye and tell me this isn't the coolest fucking bird you've ever seen. It has a wingspan of 7'7" – 9'3" which is just absolutley massive. They can eat BONES! their feathers are often stained red by blood (but are naturally orange) and just. look at it. Holy shit.
1. Thresher Sharks
Tumblr media
I fucking love Thresher Sharks. So Much. Look at its face. Not only are they the funniest looking guys out there, but the way they hunt is cool as hell. They whip their tails over their heads and fucking stun the fish they hunt with the shockwave. It's so cool!!!!!! Also they can easily breach and jump really high. look!!
Tumblr media
so cool :)

Oh my god I was already gonna ask this but now I see the "ask me top 5" post and. top 5 spiders 👀
I’ve FINALLY gotten around to compiling my faves! :3
SO tw arachnophobia, obviously
Tumblr media
Top 5 spoders in no particular order bc i’m indecisive:
1. You telling me this spider jumps babies???
Tumblr media
Idk what it is about jumping spiders, maybe it’s the eye placement, the body shape, or the fact that they never skip leg day and are actually really good pets, but i think they’re super neat! Also they’re kinda different from the average spider template that you think of whenever someone mentions the word, less flat because of their different body/head shape!
2. I’m kinkshaming...
Tumblr media
Daddy longlegs huh, okay okay weird name aside, Harvestmen spiders are pretty cool too just out of sheer oddness, i mean just look at this small man and his absolute lack of a head!!!
Tumblr media
looks more like a stone with legs, but that doesn’t stop him! Nah this little guy is actually a pretty extant breed whose ancestors we’ve found in fossils around 400 to 305 million years old and even back then they looked like this! Longevity kings uwu)
3. Spherical
Tumblr media
Orb weavers are just neat af bc of their highly variant body shape among their own species, usually they’re kinda oblong and have neat coloration like this fancy man up there. In a lotta cases that alone makes em look distinct from other spiders, especially compared to common media depictions, but they can also look crazy af like this little dude here 👀
Tumblr media
Spiny orb weavers are p neat, but the web of this species is where they get their namesake so it’d be remiss of me not to show those too :3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. 🦀 🦀 🦀
Tumblr media
Crab spiders are kinda uncommon on the majority of lists but y’all already know i was 100% gonna mention this bad boy :3 What else is there to say. is spider. is crab shaped. are you jokester? *crushes your head like a soda can*
5. You may not like it but this is what peak performance looks like
Tumblr media
Tarantulas are the tanks of the spider world and you can probably tell why just by looking at this absolutely unit :3 Aside from making pretty great pets bc they’re big enough to be held™. iirc they’re also one of the breeds that forms mutually beneficial relationships with certain types of frogs to provide protection for their eggs :p
But yeah other than fantasy breeds and stuff from tv shows those are my top 5 fave arachnids in no particular order! ::3cccc
