Babe took care of the stray cats in his neighborhood

We here in South Philly live in what is called a "row house" so this one day I was out feeding my wild cats in my yard, when the next door neighbor leaned over the fence and said "Babe (my nickname) you must put all your spending money into feeding those cats." My retort was "Mrs. Valetine have you ever been hungry?" That is when my mind went right back to Bastogne, and it was during the time that we were surrounded that they had dropped our supplies from an aircraft if they finally got a couple up, as weather kept them grounded. Well I was given two boxes of "K" rations and I opened one package up, and I threw the little pack of brown crackers in an old shell hole, about a 1/2hr later the squad leader comes over to us after we had walked about a 1/2mile to retake our defensive positions to tell us to hold on to your food eat it wisely as we may not get any for a few days. So I walked back to that shell hole found it in the dark of nite, and picked up the brown crackers that I hated so much, well as you know I did eat them as a last resort, and when your hungry they ain't bad, of course I didn't tell my neighbor that story, but I think that she could see me going into a trance

Emily studied abroad in Czechia. She visited the grave of Karel Capek, the man who introduced the word “robot”. This was mentioned in an Adventuring Party for A Starstruck Odyssey after meeting The Junkmother. She has also mentioned it on naddpod. This is why she likes making Eastern European characters, knows a lot of regional folklore and even uses Czech words like kočka, which is as others have noted the word for cat. Idk how fluent she is in the language but she does have an appreciation for it and the region.

tagging is a courtesy. I've said this many times before but it bears repeating because I keep seeing nonsense takes on this while it really is so simple. authors do not have to tag beyond 'creator chose not to use archive warnings'. if someone has triggers and/or squicks, then fics tagged as such are simply not for them. that's fine! not everything has to be for everyone!! authors not tagging clearly do that accepting that fewer people will read their fics! but that's still their prerogative. 'creator chose not to use archive warnings' or only the main ao3 warnings are proper, sufficient tagging.

and like, personally i tend to tag beyond that. personally, i appreciate when other authors do. it's a great practice. i love tags. but they are not something that is owed and we really need to get off this weird take that it is. it's not, and it's reader's responsibility to assess if they want to take the risk of reading something untagged, and to curate their online experience. and yes, this includes simply not reading things if you are unsure about its contents even at the risk of missing out sometimes.

Started reading a promising-looking fic only to, yet again, find it to be full of characters being annoyed at and wanting to hit Qui-gon (for stuff he never even did in canon). Which is not my idea of a fun or productive use of my time. So I decided to recycle a Ponyo pose instead (because redrawing scenes from studio ghibli is calming)
