#think Silco and Vander for Luke and Grayson

I love this post so much; I wanna use it as a jumping point for my OCs in my fanfic.

Like op says, Thalia and Annabeth, while they see differently, they both can’t give Luke the knife. Either out of hatred or love, they can’t do it.

My ocs, Grayson and Damien; who’ve known Luke a little less longer than Thalia and Annabeth (they met up before the cyclops incident) are similar. They both can’t hand Luke the knife either.

Grayson can’t out of fear of being stabbed. Without spoilers, he can’t hand the knife to Luke and turn his back out of fear he’ll be stabbed in it by the very man he considered his brother. He doesn’t trust him anymore.

Damien could, in theory; but it would take a lot and since he’s only 15 when the battle comes; he isn’t emotionally equipped to do it. He idolized Luke for years, did exactly as told and tried to be just like the son of Hermes. But something happens and all that heroic vision melts away and Damien can’t see anything but a desperate man who knows he’s going to lose either way. He could, in theory hand him the knife, but that means accepting the fact his hero, his brother will die.

They all see one facet of Luke— they see him all one specific way, through fear, love, hate, whatever; and they can’t see past that.

Percy can. Percy is the outlier; he can see all their points, and with his own experiences; he can hand Luke the knife only when Luke deserves it.

Like I’ve said before; this story I’m working on is going to be tragic; but only because it was always meant to end this way. There is no other way.

that scene in tlo where thalia tells percy he can't start feeling sorry for luke bc luke made his choices. and thalia reveals that the reason they couldn't make it to camp in time for all of them to make it to camp was bc luke kept picking fights. and annabeth never saw this as wrong bc luke was her hero. so thalia had to pick up the pieces. and percy thinking both that luke was put in a cruel position and that luke was putting others in a cruel position. and percy is the only character who understood both sides of luke bc annabeth sees only the best of him and thalia sees only the worst. and that's why percy is the prophecy kid and the one who gives luke the knife. bc annabeth had spent the entire series essentially giving luke the knife when he didn't deserve it. and thalia was never going to give luke the knife. but percy is the only one who can see exactly when luke deserves the knife.
