Okay, but we do need to have a serious conversation about Lizzie and her character arc for my Lab AU

The storyline I made for her heavily revolves around SA, repeat abuse, and poor coping methods for that trauma, so if that is triggering then this is not a conversation you should be here for.

Okay, here's the thing.

When I wrote Lizzie's story arc, I was not intending for her to be a main character. The Lab AU was first designed to be about two duos: Martyn and Ren, and Jimmy and Tango.

Lizzie was given her own side arc like most of the characters in the AU, but first and foremost she was meant to be a supporting character for Jimmy's story. I was never intending to go into depth about her traumas and abuse.

HOWEVER.

Lizzie has clearly become a favorite. I would love to continue to tell her story, but I'm also not sure what the best way to cover it is. Obviously SA is a serious topic, and I don't want to portray it offensively or inaccurately. Many people are sensitive about it, and I don't want to make light of real abuse by writing about it poorly.

Additionally, I'm not sure what Tumblr's guidelines are about the portrayal of topics like this, and I also don't want to scare anyone off my blog. I'm unsure where the line of "too much" is drawn.

I do have plenty of ideas for her character, and I would love to explore her abuse and how the context of the lab would affect her psychologically. I have plenty of thoughts about how I can make it angsty for Joel too.

That being said, if anyone has any advice on writing characters who have experienced SA, my DMs are wide open (or send me an ask if you want to remain anonymous). I'm trying to approach this carefully while also feeding everyone the angst they're clearly hungry for :3

Look, the fundamental problem is that "maids" is not a monophyletic group. There is no coherent taxonomic definition which both includes everything that's traditionally considered a maid and excludes everything that isn't. If we want to construct "maids" as a proper clade descended from a common ancestor, then either mimes are a kind of maid, or housekeeping robots aren't – those are our only options.

OK so Coronabeth Tridentarius is extremely trans-coded within the context of the Locked Tomb's gender binary of cavaliers and necromancers, but also, I think both her and Ianthe are transgender as fuck in the conventional sense.
