He never actually broke up with me, then dated another girl until he moved away. I later became friends with that girl

3. Family friend, “dated”

My family was (and still is) friends with this other family we met through baseball. They had a son my age, and when we were like 7 I asked him out, he said yes. We saw each other all the time but he was never really interested in “dating” me. Our families still hang out, and we don’t talk about when we “dated” again there was no breakup just a mutual understanding. I lowkey think he doesn’t like me that much anymore but irdc what he thinks

At the end of 8th grade my best friend asked me out and I said yes because I felt kinda awkward. Digimon Fusion - Episode 1

Yeah, I'm going with the English title this time because Xros Wars is a dumb name, I'm sorry lol.

They really said "okay, enough of this experimentation, back to basics." Back to generic goggles-kun as our protag (Taiki not Taichi 😜) But wait, is this our first middle school-age main cast? Interesting...(as a 32 year old it barely makes a difference, but these distinctions matter to kids!)

What in the Voltron...? I already don't like this show's gimmick, not gonna lie. Well, they have a chance to win me over still. If all the fusions are boring mecha/robot types, my eyes are gonna glaze over. Just not for me.

I don't understand the whole music theme and how that connects to the xros gimmick. Like they kept mentioning "melody" and the new digimon have headphones, etc. I'm intrigued because past seasons haven't really done something like this? (I feel like I'm watching Pretty Cure or something). Hopefully this means there will be cool musical scenes. I'd be very down for that. All of the nods to music were seemingly absent from the dub's dialogue...

This episode was totally chaotic. It felt like it was at a 11 out of 10 the whole runtime. I know they're trying to make a good first impression, but I was like "slow down!"

Even though they were all on flip phones, everyone being on their phones gives this show a next gen feel for sure. There was a big jump in time from the release of Savers to Fusion.

Same character designer as Tamers looks like. First thing I noticed were the skinny arms and legs for some reason.

I just want to roast Taiki's outfit a little bit. He's wearing the puffer vest from Back to the Future, a shirt with the tumblr "t" on it, Mickey Mouse gloves, khakis and Converse?? What a fashion disaster! His green goggles don't even match anything he's wearing!

Neither opening theme really hit. The auto-tune in the English one is kinda cringey. Maybe one or both will grow on me.

Well, here I go again. Tackling another one of these hella long shows (sigh). At least this one is broken up into 3 seasons. It's a bit of a relief to switch from gaming-mode to anime-mode too (more passive/relaxed).

Yes I have!! I'm actually already into season two and I've been quieter about my reactions for this first viewing 😜

Okay yes! Doyle! I really loved him and I wish we got more of him and cordy bantering. I enjoyed figuring out his background and appreciated his wit/sense of humor. I think he balanced out angels brooding seriousness really well 😭 though, when I looked up the show/the actor, I understood why they did what they did. I'm glad the character at least got a noble ending 😥

But i still kinda ship him and cordy 😅

Oh! And in the beginning of S1 I was jumpscared by the presence of my beloved Spoike (spelled like how Dru says it) and his absolutely hysterical voice over for Angel. I was pleasantly surprised and enamored by the episode especially since Oz (my other precious) made his quick appearance 💕

Now that I'm halfway through s2, I can still say I really am ambivalent about Wesley, I don't hate him as much, but I feel like him and cordy have the same conversations when angels out galavanting for Darla or with Gunn 😅 I just find him very boring and generally unlikable 🤷‍♀️

VERY curious about Lindsey and where his storyline will go. VERY confused about Kate and her dwindling appearances lol. Hmmm what else, oh! I love how protective Angel can be for Cordelia especially during the few episodes where she becomes a bit of a damsel in distress, he's said some very sweet things to her.

OH GOD the karaoke how could I forget to mention the karaoke bar. Lemme tell you nothing could have prepared me for that as a recurring plot device this season 🤣🤣 my boy angel is out there singing his heart out and I'm covering my ears hahaha.

Anyway I'm having fun while watching and trying not to binge as hard as I did through Buffy 😂 trying to respectfully watch this series like an average person would lol
