the idea of him being gay appeals to me from the 'raised with traditional values he Does Not fit into/hasnt begun to question it yet' perspective, i lauve characters who put a lot of stock into performing a role thats expected of them and fail miserably for unknown (gay) reasons

from his perspective tho i dont think he would ever really label himself anything. hes going to pride parades in the shirt+shorts Ally Fit to clap for his friends

hes also 'cis by indifference' imo... i love tmasc laios hcs it just doesnt mesh w his personal history to me. i do think hes got some kind of therian gender thing going on (not trans or nb but a secret third thing) but i cant see him changing anything abt his appearance/pronouns to accommodate that post-canon. hes just doin his thang

• he doesn't stick to labels. They're boring. He doesn't care. He will admit however that the majority of those who held his interest were men. The Clown was an exception - though not because of her gender. He's typically drawn to people by their Haki signatures, and he has noticed a common trend in those he enjoys - Shanks with his firey volcanic energy, Crocodile feeling akin to the desert lands he called home, even Roronoa Zoro's antiquated cliffside mountainous energy. He finds earthy energy to be the most comfortable, emotional aspect be damned. The Clown is very much a different element, liquid and mutable and dynamic. It is reflective, overtly bright and rippling uncontrollably. Odd, he admits, but not investing.

• it's when Buggy calms, when she blooms, that Migawk sees the ripples calm, sees the sharp reflections soothe themselves, and sees that the seemingly shallow pond of energy is but a cover which leads into a fathomless sinkhole. The shores are quaint, smooth, beautiful, and lead gradually further and further in towards a sharp drop which casts the Blues into blacks and the blacks into abyssal shade. It's strange, it's unusual, it's delicious.

• it especially helps that Mihawk finds Buggy to be rather good company. Without her forced shrill demeanor and loud hypervigilance, she's actually a wonderful conversationalist. He enjoys her company. It's unexpected.

• Buggy has always been rather touchy-feely, something she constantly fights with because of her past and experiences. She adores cuddles, holding hands, casual touches, and the like. Her boyfriends aren't exactly the types to love PDA or to seek out physical touch. They do allow her to indulge, however, and they each have their preferred manners of doing so.

- Mihawk

- - in public, will pull a full chivalrous move, offering her his arm, his hand when she climbs up or down, a casual yet respectful hand on her waist to guide her.

- - in private, he will cuddle against her back when he is amenable to touch, chin over her shoulder as they both read a book, one arm wrapped around her waist, fingers caressing the soft skin of her soft sides, other hand tangled with one of her own. If not that, he will become a cat in human form, wordlessly smacking whatever was in her hands away to burrow into her stomach or chest, going limp yet clinging in a mess of contradictions. It never fails to earn a slightly annoyed snicker from her.

- Crocodile

- - in public, he and Mihawk seem to share a general demeanor insofar as the types of touches. He does however take it further by occasionally just plucking her up into his arm, treating her as a dainty little thing, casual touches peppered throughout that imply a level of possessiveness, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear, a drag of fingertips or hook along her shoulder, a curl of a hand at her hip.

- - in private, the touches come and go, but the emotion behind them remains. Sometimes he will simply trail fingers over her spine or shoulders, absent and affectionate. Sometimes he will drag her into the cage of him limbs to have and hold her close, a cheek pressed to her chest, hand cupping the other breast in a simple gesture.

1. Name

For starter's, before GG became a Devil, his name as a sorcerer was actually 'Shin'. Which imo is definitely Hayashida connecting the two.

[Side mini rant on this: This is something that I annoyingly missed for the longest time cause I read physical and VIZ likes to do a literal translation of the names to english , so i just knew GG's sorcerer name as 'Quake' for the longest time --- which literally pisses me off so much cause like WHY would I be referring to characters via the english translation of their names? Cause also if thats what were doing why do it selectively and why not also refer to Chidaruma as 'Covered in Blood' or Chota as 'Fat Bird' ?? But you see how dumb this is right, so wtf Viz??? pmo]

I find this such a cool detail - When i read the scans some months ago for the first time and saw GG's name as 'Shin' , my eyes literally goggled

2. Past Life / Hobbies

Secondly, in the bonus curse of volume 21, GuraGura has his own 'Hobby' Channel which is literally him building stuff.

He's building stuff.

I mean cmon!!!

Like please, surely you all remember that Shin basically grew up with his father as a CARPENTER ! He built stuff !

At some point in the series Asu explained how Devils are generally beings of passion, and we've also seen how obsessively and intensely Nikaido was cooking/making gyoza as she was transitioning into a Devil. In her full devil design Hayashida showed in an au chapter, she also had a mini gyoza between her horns which supports my understanding that generally, Devils must retain some of the hobbies/passions they had as sorcerers into Devilhood.

This would then help contextualise GuraGura - I believe for him to be having a whole channel to himself based around building stuff and furniture for a hobby would support the theory that as a sorcerer, he must have been a sort of carpenter or builder.

2.5 Design

This is a bit of a reach tbh im adding to just build on the theory, but I'd just like to make a point on GG's devil design- it kiiiinda resembles a carpenter's fit; especially with his vest with the pockets that look to me like a carpenter's vest, and even his skirt kinda gives me traditional japanese carpenter attire.

But like i said this is kind of a reach - its a cool design at the end of the day so doesnt have to mean that much.

GuraGura's characterisation in the series:

I think also what drives this home for me is also when I look at it in relation to how GG is portrayed in the series - he is a very aloof, even more so than you standard Devil.

He spends years pretending to be a dog and genuinely lives as one, he can be very thoughtless and random, he'd be so in his head he wouldnt notice Chidaruma calling to him, and even when in Devil form he'd act like a dog, such as barking, accepting pets and whatnot. His profile also in the all stars showed that he literally had no thoughts (iconic btw/ also cant find the page for the life of me to link but its out there).

So hes a very aloof, happy go lucky character (def not stupid tho, which I thought it was so interesting when I saw how he was driving lots of the conversation with Kaiman when he was reverted to a sorcerer, but thats a completely diff point).

In my eyes its couple strong points that come together -

They have the same names

Possibly the same past around building/carpentry

Just the name on its own would make me think is Hayashida just being cute, but when you add the hobby channel in conjuction with his characterisation in the show to me it just felt like Hayashida was trying to really hint at something more

Shin is generally a very interesting person, hes just gravitating really (no pun intended) ; hes also very strong, has grit, and he's also one of En's cleaners -- Add to all that that he has the same name as him and (potentially) the same past, and I can imagine why GuraGura would potentially see himself kinda and decide to play around with him.

GuraGura is also OLD ok, he's 358 years old -- imagine how endearing it'd be to find a little snot that reminds you of your old life (thats just me being sappy tho)

Theory ++ / Devils , Intel Gathering and En

Cute stuff aside btw, i'd also like to add that from Chidaruma's/Devils' perspective, how convenient is to have a Devil literally be with one of EN'S cleaners day in and out?

Like what a brilliant way to get intel on En and whatever he's up to at all times.

And if anyone thinks wtf do Devils care for all that, they absolutely do care. En's mentioned before while talking with Chidaruma how Chidaruma has informants and has also implied that its through informant networks that the Devils know everything that's going at all times. Think it was Haru that also mentioned that they'd also been spying on the cross eyes and Kai for the longest time.

Devils and in particular Chidaruma 100% just keep tabs on everyone and everything that's going on in the Magic World. They rule the realm anyways so It's part of having power at the end of the day. And who else would you be more interested in than En himself? (ok maybe whatever Kai was on as well but u get my point) Chidaruma and En are buddies, but En is 100% ass kissing and im sure theres so much that he doesn't let Chidaruma in on. Chidaruma also 100% is wary and very observant of En.

I do really believe (or like to at least) that GG just chose to be Shin's dog for the fuck of it but i would be in no way surprised if it was also partially to get intel.

Noi and Shin are in on everything En is on anyways since they kill for him, and they're always talking about him so can imagine the stuff GG's found out by just chilling and listening.

And all that info would go back to Chidaruma/Devils in the end.

thank you for the question. I mostly have nelcelmo hcs (which I have previously made a post on), but I do have a few general hcs here and there.

You can tell by the way I draw them, but I think altmer have long slender ears in comparison to dunmer or bosmer. and altmer society has extraordinarily strict beauty standards. which i know /is/ pretty much canon, but think like korea on steroids and those are their standards.

I also think every vampire of any origin has bat-like features. I know bloodstarved vamps are like that in game, but to me it doesnt really matter. so if i ever draw serana you'll see her more batty, at least in the nose area (also she's definitely an ace lesbian btw).

I also think that dwemer automatons are powered by falmer souls, idk if that is canon or not, but like it's definitely what's happening there. and dynamo cores are definitely just some big weird soul gem offshoot (morpholiths).

speaking of dwemer, i subscribe to the idea that they got smited off the face of nirn. idk by who, idk how, it's just what i think. no matter what, they definitely got too ambitious.

also dibella and mara are lesbians for eachother bc i said so, idc about lore.

About that entitled ass post about x reader, op was definitely wrong but a small point was made.

I agree with your response but I'd like to add that, unless you've stated that certain characteristics or features will be present in reader, certain kinds of ambiguity is necessary, especially in appearance.

To make a character completely void of any backstory or personality is just bad writing period but to add an appearance is a little ...

As a black reader, reading about certain things that are supposed to reflect the reader is genuinely disheartening. I'm talking about things like referencing imagery of lighter skin (such as refering to readers skin as pink, pale, creamy, etc) or something like a character running their fingers through the reader's hair or having a hair washing routine that can be done in the time it takes to have a regular shower. I know with people with big bodies, having descriptions of small, light bodies is also disheartening.

Bc, once again, unless it's been stated that those are a part of reader's appearance, it's a little unnecessary bc it shows that although it's x reader it's definitely not for us.

I don't expect writers to write about specific events or characteristics about different cultures and such bc that can also go south REAL quick if you aren't properly educated or aware but a little diversity never hurt anyone

I know that some people do this out of genuine dislike of darker skinned/bigger people but I know most people do it out of genuine ignorance.

Unfortunately, you cannot bring up including people who don't fit typical beauty standards (pale/light skinned, long straight hair, thin/slim bodies) without people telling you that not everyone has to cater to you.

But the thing is, we're not asking you to cater to us; we're just asking you to include us in your vision of reader. You don't need to add specifics of everything regarding different races or cultures but you don't need to add specifics that exclude them.

And then when we go to create our own stories that do envision us, we're met with so much hatred and backlash about it like that one deleted comment on op's post.

I'm sorry for ranting about this but it so frustrating sometimes when people don't understand this. I brought up something similar to this topic once before and got death threats in my mentions for weeks (that's why this is anonymous)

ALSO, I'm not accusing you of any of the things I've mentioned in this ask. Based on what I've read from your work so far, the reader is actually someone you can enjoy reading about without feeling excluded when appearances are mentioned

im afraid you missed my main point and also, u are talking to someone who is literally a POC so i am definitely not in need of a rundown of how important it is to write reader in a manner that does not perpetuate western beauty standards. writing a reader that is inclusive for people in a manner that doesn't solidify western norms is important, but writing a reader that is an all encompassing fit all type of thing in terms of personality and decision making is not

its not that their point ab mistagged gn! readers and white/western physical features weren't valid—it was, but it was sprinkled in their main point that writing reader with personality is an oc and is not belonging in the tags and writers should focus on writing generic hcs instead. they used the issue of race and gender and other minoroties to support their idea that readers have to be ambiguous from all fronts, and that is a very twisted way to use actual real issues to justify your tantrums ab not liking dialogue or what the reader chose to do. my point that i was trying to make is that writers are entitled to write however they please as long as they tag what features of reader are set there. if they mistag that, then yes, that is something you should bring to their attention (politely) because then it misleads ppl to think this fic includes them. but that also is not done through a rant in the tags because that does not belong in the tags

quite frankly, to pair racial and gender representation issues as comparable to not aligning with the choices a reader takes to develop as a character and to put those two on the same boat takes away from the issue of inclusivity. inclusivity of a reader does NOT equal to how they think, process, feel, and progress in the storyline. not fitting in with the actual character of reader is incomparable to racial representation issues and misgendering tags and etc. the latter are REAL issues. the first is simply complaining bc u did not see urself in a plot

the actual problem with their rant was that they were using REAL issues to justify entitled complaining and that is why i did not validate them in that. yes writing reader as white and not tagging it is an issue. yes giving little to no thought to poc readers in writing is an issue. yes mistagging something as gn! while using gendered terms is an issue. but they should not be the backbone to an entirely different argument that essentially censors people

I'll be honest and say despite trying to write a fic about how Bruce was growing up, I haven't had the idea to explore what his academic life would be at this young, especially depicting like this, so thank you for showing me these! That happening right after Zorro movie is insane, but incredibly interesting on how Bruce understanding of the world, and of cruelty. I gotta marinate on these, omg.

The storybook is interesting as well, I want to possibly look further into that, but I do think it makes sense Bruce might've been a morbid child. With how particularly information seeking Bruce is an adult, he's gotta know every last detail, no one can convince me he was even worse as a child, curious about everything, including morbid or grotesque subjects. Was hanging onto every word of his father's descriptions of any surgeries or details about organ functions, not at all squeamish.

And getting trapped within the manor trying to find answers? That's so interesting oh my gosh! All of these are so incredibly interesting, genuinely.

I really wanna offer some little ideas of HC's and of the such, but I don't know! I think parent's death is such a naturally fucked up part of his life, it's harder to think around that, but for one idea, I do think he was a bit of an outsider at school before and especially after. That, and he always enjoyed heights. Climbing tallest trees, finding different ways to the manor's roof, hiding away from peers on the school's roof. Plus, personal HC of mine is the "Brucie" persona has always been in development, and a young, quiet Bruce has always been an avid people watcher. Catch a random ghost-like boy upon the high stairs, staring at you intently during a gala and maybe even mouthing along to what you're saying before disappearing into the shadows.

it hurts a bit; knowing that it's unlikely that even if he shared similar feelings that being with a subordinate by the time became alpha would just be... a conflict of interest

so you pull away; not quite knowing at the time he'd had any feelings for you at all

the chasm between you grew but your feelings didn't change, much to your chagrin

you tried hard to be there at the time of Gabe's death and see if he was okay... but he pushed you away too

despite internally knowing that you would've helped him heal even though you clearly aren't so close to the pack as a whole

so you both sat in this very unhappy medium, silently holding onto these feelings with a mix of other things

it was only a matter of time until you were tangled up in Quinn; with a want for some sort of intimacy

if not to try and push yourself to get over David

not healthy by any means, but being in love with your alpha meant that you're not great at choosing where your heart lands

and did being with Quinn put it through the ringer

as did lying to your alpha about where you'd been

David and Angel still did meet, but didn't quite hit as off as well - they were close friends and their feelings for him shifted in the midst of a rather rough breakdown

when after a one sided conversation with you; he realized how much it hurt because of how he still felt after all this time

they knew he didn't need a S/O at the time and simply resigned themselves to be the best friend they could be... but they definitely gave you an earful for making David worry so much

Sam and you made friends similarly as in canon, his gentle disposition remained platonic as he'd focused in on keeping you healed

and knowing early on that you had some feelings for someone else

so when David and him met, when Davey implied there was something more between you(assuming that it was the case); Sam had corrected him

Davey will never admit how that possibility made his heart soar, even later on (could be coerced out of him via Angel or Asher tho)

when you both met again - it was very... strained

even more so than by the standard; you somewhat accused him of patronizing you by worrying so much - pointing that you had tried in the past to talk with him

making him wince as he sort of realized it was hypocritical of him to be confronting you about distance when remembering the pair of you grieve very similarly

it all finally boils over when you ask the burning question, "WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH DAVID?

the heat of the moment is enough to get him to frustratedly pour out, “BECAUSE I LOVE YOU, YOU DUMBASS!"

queue frozen moment of silence and horror

it wasn't supposed to come out like that, right then, in the midst of this... but it did

he is surprised to see you react so calmly, double as you quietly told him, "While I feel that same... I think maybe we should sit down and talk about this more instead of making the volume control my neighbor's problem."

the both of you apologized first and then had a long, long conversation about what was to come of this new development

he also got to learn the nature of your relationship with Quinn and his concern drove him enough to insist that you stay with him until this was resolved

tentatively, the pair of you had an agreement to take things slow and get a feel out for things

slowly, you got to see a new side of the David you grew up with and learned to love the person he had grown into (from apparently a friendship with an unempowered human)

though emotionally, the both of you needed time to heal and communicate - it was enough to try

he got to see and love you too, rough edges and all

making sure you ate and slept and didn't get into any fights was made easier by your vampire companion

he was forever the worrywart even though he knew that you were capable of taking out a threat

"I swear to god, I don't know how you manage to live in that shoebox you call an apartment. But on top of that, you eat like shit? Not on my fuckin' watch."

GX Month Day 5: Dramatic Rescue

Yeah boi, headcanon time! Now, I could've done a fanfic with one headcanon or two, but I think I used up all of my inspiration juice on the next two prompts I'm doing so naaaah, you just get a list of my crazy headcanons about Duel World GX. It's a horrible excuse, I know, but I'm incompetent like that and idk what else to say honestly sooo here we go.

1- Shou treats Cycroid like a pet. Literally. They go out on walks and everything, and their favorite spot is the bridge to the PvP Arena. Cycroid even makes those cute little tire scraping noises when Shou pats his seat, and everyone else has mixed reactions of 'Meh' and 'AWWWW' because the guy finally found his own smol spirit partner and they're adorable together.

2- Fubuki's been trying to log into the game for a good while now, and while he's already registered into the database, the game still refuses to let him in. Whenever someone asks him about it, he just shrugs and says "Don't worry kiddos, I'm just waiting for the right time to make my grand entrance!"

...He totally doesn't play sad ukulele music when he randomly realizes how much action he missed. Nope, definitely not.

3- O'Brien is secretly a hardcore grinder, and has almost every event title that could be obtained since he came to the game, in addition to reaching King of Games 7 times. He still keeps telling everyone he's only here to research the magical bullshit strange occurences going on in the Duel World, though. Can't have anyone know he's a pro gamer after all.

4- Some trivia about the Standard Duelists: Evan is a first-year, Kylie, Madison and Logan are second-years, and Zachary and Alyssa are third-years at Academia. They have a kinda sorta club thing where they meet up every week in a Duel Room and play, but something always goes wrong in the end (mainly because Zachary's a salty sore loser).

Madison has the braincell of the group and sort of a tsundere, Alyssa tries (and fails) to be the voice of reason, Kylie is the main force that holds the group together in the first place, Evan and Logan are Insecure Bros™, and Zachary...nobody cares about Zachary.

(I'm totally not being biased af against him because he annoys me, I legit can't see anyone getting along with the guy. He's literally 1st Arc Manjoume 2.0, but much more of a pushover.)

5- Aight, this one's been stuck in my head since August 1st, and it makes no sense but also kinda does. As you may or may not know, Duel Links has this weirdass tendency to recreate dead characters or ones that aren't supposed to exist, and also creates younger versions of living ones. As a result, Duel World GX has two of these (that's an abysmally low number compared to DM and 5D's btw), those being Smol Juudai and a virtual incarnation of the Supreme King.

The headcanon here is this: The two actually kinda get along. Sorta. Okay to be fair, their relationship was mainly Smol Juudai following the King around everywhere he goes, trying to get the guy to talk, only to be met by "......" every single time.

You think that'll stop him? Oh hell no. This kid has seen another version of himself that has gone down a terribly wrong path, and he's making it his mission to understand why. He keeps stalking following him, tries to Duel him (he loses once and forces out a draw twice), and after twenty-one days of persistence and maximum levels of determination in the face of constantly failing attempts, the King finally throws the towel and talks.

And somehow, he's not sure exactly how, he slowly stops thinking of his doppelgänger as an annoyance. Yes, he may be too positive at times, too naïve, too trusting and outgoing and friendly and kind, but he's trying his best to understand him, he's trying to befriend him...and...he doesn't mind the gesture.

(And on a side note, he ends up telling Smol Juudai his real name because he's so tired of being constantly and unncessarily called by his title (I might elaborate on that little hc if asked I guess). This should be a separate headcanon too but well, screw it, I believe his real name is Jaden and I'll die with that belief.)

Izuku Midoriya (Deku) is autistic - HC

Hi hi ~ so I am autistic and I strongly headcanon most of BNHA's characters as neurodiverse (and gay but that’s another story). I think that Deku is definitely autistic and here are the main reasons why. For this “analysis” I’ve used both the anime (until s4 which is currently airing) and bits of the manga.

(I’ve had comments on my previous autistic headcanons pointing out that I was projecting myself onto the characters and YES I am very much doing this. No but seriously, I am writing about why I think certain characters have the same neurodivergence as me so yes of course I’m going to use my own life as a reference and as a material to explain why I think the way I do. If it bothers you it’s fine but don’t spread negativity is all I ask for.)

1. Stimming

I feel like this one is extremely obvious so I'll start with it: Deku is one stimmy boi omg. Just look at the way he swings on his chair before watching that one All Might video:

“Stimming” also known as “self regulatory behaviour” is basically the repetition of movements, sounds, visual stimulation. It’s a way for autistic people to calm and reassure themselves, concentrate and express their feelings.

I’m also putting his mumbling in here because it’s very common for autistics to talk to themselves, it’s a form of vocal stimming:

2. Special interest

"special interest" is a term used by autistic people to refer to the topics that interest them. When we're invested in something it's not just a hobby. For us it becomes an obsession, we think about it 24/7 thus why we have a word for it. A special interest is not only an obsession, it's a safe place, an escape route if the reality becomes overwhelming, something that gives us a joy and fulfilment.

All Might and generally Heroes are Deku's special interest. He spent years to research and gather all informations in books. He's so obsessed he goes back into 'fanboy mode' super fast and forgets the time and place at times. He knows everything by heart AND well enough to use it directly in battles.

Also like his mumbling could be due to him being in hyperfocus: an intense form of mental concentration that focuses consciousness on a subject, topic, or task. Hyperfocusing on special interests is something quite common for autistics. He’s so focused that he forgets that it's not really “appropriate” (by society’s standards) to do that when other people are around.

AND he does that quite a bit huh.

3. Blunt, honest and infodumping

Deku is very honest and isn't afraid of being vulnerable. This is something I tend to observe with the autistic community because we simply don't see why some things are considered shameful or embarrassing. We say what we think and we don't see the wrong in that.

He has a tendency to infodump: Infodumping is the practice, common amongst autistic people, of giving intricately detailed summaries of their topic of interest in single heaps. This can occur in conversation both online and offline. "Speaking in paragraphs" is another way to describe this. It happens multiple times in the manga but this one is my favorite example:

First of all, he was SO stressed at the beginning of the interview. Again, this is interesting in itself because Deku is not shy, he’s usually more on the spontaneous side. It reminds me of when he had to be funny with Sir Nighteye to gain his approval because he was surprisingly very stiff. This makes me think that maybe he feels uncomfortable in any social situation he’s not already familiar with. That’s... Very relatable as an autistic person because most of us also have social anxiety.

Anyway, about the infodumping. This example perfectly shows the switch that occurs in his behaviour before and after a special interest is brought up. When being asked about himself he doesn’t know what to say at all but he gets loud the moment he’s asked about All Might and start literally speaking in paragraphs. When can clearly see that he’s not stiff anymore. Talking about All Might was both a relief and something that got him suddenly excited.

4. Bullied

I find it so interesting that the series begins with Deku's perspective and within the first pages we are already introduced to the concept of inequality in this world. People are not born equal. Deku learns it very early at age 4 because he's quirkless and I can't help but draw a parallel with neurodiversity. 

He's bullied for being different, for not having a capacity that others have, for not meeting expectations.... This reminds me of almost every autistic person ever unless they become very good at masking (hiding autistic traits) very fast. Also he points out a few times that he’s probably not only bullied for not having a quirk. This makes me think that even if he had one he would have been ostracised anyway. Maybe being quirkless drew attention on him but he was different from the start. As an autistic person I relate so much to this and I think the discrimination he faces is very relatable to a lot of neurodiverse folks. This is my interpretation of this aspect of Deku.

5. Strong sense of justice

No I'm not saying that us autistics are better people BUT I think we have a strong sense of justice that we aren't afraid to show no matter the circumstances. A lot of people don't express when the feel like something is unfair mostly because of social rules but because we're quite blind to these we often blur out things without even thinking or considering time and place. I think we see that in Deku's childhood especially when he stands up for his beliefs while being quirkless and powerless.

6. He comes up with unique ways

Something very interesting with deku is how he always manage to come up with a unique plan. I think this is something most autistic people relate with because we often perceive things a bit differently than most and as a result we have unique ways to achieve our goals.

Honestly there is not one single moment of him that makes me think he’s not on the autism spectrum lol. I could understand people disagreeing with other headcanons but this one?

I’ve seen posts talking about hyper empathy as an autistic trait Deku has and I didn’t put it in here because I don’t feel knowledgeable enough on the subject to touch it. That being said I think it’s a very interesting point to make!

Claude Faustus Headcanons: Nasty Edition

These are not NSFW HCs; these are an add-on to my first Claude HCs post. Thanks for the love I got on that post, btw!! This is about the dark side of Claude, one that inspired him to commit his heinous actions. I reference canon but we’re still in a modern AU.

We gotta talk about how fucked up Claude’s actions are because WOW.

And it’s not just because he’s a demon. It’s obvious that demons are cruel, as seen with golden boy Sebastian. He’s our standard demon, imo; he’s a show-off that’s powerful but not so bright

Enter Claude. I view Claude as being much more calculated. However, he becomes overzealous as he reached his goal. He’s much more dangerous than Sebastian; he’s more experienced and a higher-ranking demon.

As mentioned in my previous HC post, Claude is antagonistic, domineering, manipulative, and cold. However, he can just as easily be nurturing, sympathetic, and warm-hearted. He’s either faking it or he genuinely cares (which is rare, but it genuinely happens).

Not a nasty HC (in fact, this is very personal, whoops!!) but since I relate to Claude, I HC him as dealing with the demon equivalent of anxiety, depression, and c-ptsd. He dissociates during or after severely stressful moments, mainly deals w/ depersonalization and derealization. He may just completely stop responding entirely, barley managing to function. I also love autistic Claude HCs as someone who experiences similar symptoms. I specify “demon equivalent” because I imagine that demons deal w/ slightly different symptoms and desires when it comes to mental illness and neurodivergency.

Even for demons, Claude’s parents were harsh. He’s no longer in contact with them. Sometimes I write them off as dead, sometimes they’re alive.

Okay back to Nasty:

Claude’s feelings toward Ciel. It is my opinion that he views souls - and therefore humans - as food. However, they are not just food alone. But does he view Ciel as food only? Absolutely. The way he treats Ciel (almost borderline idolization) is akin to how a foodie would treat a special dish.

Even though I feel that Claude regrets being in a contract due to wanting more out of life and being unable to get that, I do think he at least wants to make sure that Alois is taken care of, even while only using him for his soul. He eventually realizes that he was truly here for Alois - even while chasing after Ciel - in his dying moment, which gives him some clarity during his last moments in canon.

To combine the two HCs about Claude’s mental state and how he treats others, this can be compared to modern-day cynicism. This is also clear in his philosophy as well.

Claude is jaded, yet he still craves for more because that’s all a demon as old as him can do. I don’t headcanon him as being a super old demon, but my standard age for him is 2,999 years old. For comparison, Sebastian is only anywhere from 700-900 years old.

Claude is dangerously smart. He’s knowledgeable in many topics and knows how to get away with murder.

Speaking of! This man definitely helped a serial killer at one point. He just has those vibes.

Claude’s the kinda guy to break your heart and/or manipulate you into doing stuff for him w/out feeling any remorse.

As mentioned in my previous post, he rarely feels guilt.

A little narcissistic but not as bad as Sebastian. He just can’t help being that handsome, smart, and talented. (Tried to be sarcastic here but he’s quite handsome IMO HSJDJCJ).

Doesn’t mind the idea of being famous/being worshipped. He’s very comfortable with being a leader. He just doesn’t want anyone to cling onto him/be needy/be obsessed.

Definitely loves being in control of everything around him. Not the guy to just sit back and watch everything go down even when that’s exactly what he’s physically doing. He’s always one step ahead. Except when he isn’t.

Usually admits when he’s wrong (if he thinks + knows he did something wrong), but it depends on the person. Less likely to play off his mistakes as intentional. That’s what Seb does a lot IMO. Demons have a much different version of right and wrong than humans do, they are almost - if not completely - void of morals.

Admittedly likes to toy with and scare humans. He thinks it’s funny.

The kind of guy to ignore his own flaws and inner problems because they benefit him. Gotta love that denial + bargaining.
