I have a theory that is half formed in my head, but hear me out

Vegapunk, Judge, Queen, and Ceasar were all together in MADS. Some of the things they were researching were devil fruits (what they are, their different kinds, if they can be artificially replicated, etc), cloning, and body modification like cyborgs.

One of the main characteristics of the devil fruits is the swirly pattern they all have. Sanji and his siblings, who were experimented on my judge while still in the womb, all have that swirly pattern in their eyebrows. But neither Sora nor Judge have that, so where did it come from? Let's put a pin on that.

Now, when he first meet the other Vinsmoke siblings, both the audience and the characters go "wow those people look just like sanji!". You know who else made the audience go "wow that person looks like sanji!"? Vegapunk Lilith.

Though all the Vegapunks share a brain, none of them look even remotely related to each other and, as we learned when Atlas was injured, they're all some form of cyborg. You wanna know what else we learn in egghead? That Vegapunk has created the Seraphims, clone hybrids with Lunarian blood — an ancient race connected to the void century, skypeia and all of that — and green blood, which gives them the abilities of a devil fruit. And the Pacifistas were created using a Buccaneer as a base. So Vegapunk can definitely create android cyborgs robots or whatever using the bloodline elements of these ancient races. So who's to say he hasn't that one more time?

Lilith is first Vegapunk that we meet and the one we are still with right now. She was literally in Oda's newest color spread so she's definitely Important and she didn't do all that much in Egghead to justify her importance. Another thing about her is that she is supposed to be the Evil Vegapunk. York was definitely Greedy, Atlas was Violent, etc, but Lilith has never been Evil, and this has even been commented by other characters! And why would a genius create an evil version of himself when he knows the damage that his inventions can cause? So no, I don't think Lilith is Evil, but she’s definitely Something. And we know Vegapunk had an interest in the Void Century and all that stuff, and you know who all of them, both the Vinsmoke kids and Lilith, look like? Sora, Sanji's mom.

I don't think we're quite done with MADS yet, so here's my crazy theory: the scientists managed to track down a member of one of the ancient races that the government wants to exterminate really badly. The Lunarians are connected with Skypeia and the Moon, the Buccaneers are connected with Sun God Nika, so maybe there's a third mysterious race that is connected to our third one piece mystery: the devil fruits.

So let's say Sora is this person. When MADS finds her, they give her an option: they could rat her out to the government and leave them at their mercy or they could offer her protection and a place to hide in, but only as long as she agreed to share her blood with them. And so, she joined MADS. Judge, who has never heard of the word ethics in his entire life, goes a bit too far with his experiments and decides to impregnate her and pump the baby with some weird chemicals to try and create the perfect soldier. Reiju is born, but she still has emotions so he decides to try again. That's a bit much for Vegapunk so the group disbands and Judge takes Sora with him back to Germa. But Vegapunk still has some of her bloodline elements, and years later decides to use them to create his own weapon, but one that he can monitor very closely due to the sharing the same brain and one who was not created by experimenting on children (due to how he acts with Bonney, I think that is the one line he won’t cross). And so, he decides to hide this new weapon among five others so no one will look too closely at her face.

And we know that the Vegapunks can hide things from each other, so maybe Lilith herself doesn't know about this but the others do. We see Atlas sacrificing herself to make sure Lilith can escape Egghead, and why would she try to guarantee that the Evil One will be okay unless there's something in Lilith they can't lose or replace, unlike with the rest of them?

So yeah, that's my theory. Sora something something devil fruits something something ancient races something something Lilith

Sonic the Hedgehog: Winter Jam

Welcome back everyone to Sonic the Hedgehog: Winter Jam... in the middle of spring. I had stated this somewhere else, but the reason I'm not doing these Analyzer posts (or the fanfic chapters) as often as I probably should was because of some health issues and while I feel better now, I'm still dealing with some stuff, so thank you for your patience. I can also assure you that the next chapter of Sonic Cyber Revolution and maybe even With Light In My Heart will be coming out this week.

Of course, if you guys aren't interested in an AU where Sonic and his friends are digital anomalies based on their video game counterparts and saving the day from all kinds of threats or a Sonadow story taking place Post-Frontiers/Post-Sonic X Shadow Generations, that's also fine, because we have a fun story ahead of us. X3

We kick off with Eggman staring at his monitor, with Orobot and Cubot noting how he's been working for days...

...watching reality TV?

Well, I guess that's a way to spend your time. God knows how much time I spent in front of the TV watching Takeshi's Castle... and now I want Sonic and his friends go through an episode of Takeshi's Castle. Thank you, Iasmin Omar Ata, for writing this.

Anyways, speaking of reality TV, we also find several characters showing up on the monitors, such as Barry, the Conductor and his wife (The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog) and Gadget and Ian Jr. (Sonic Forces). It's nice to see them have the time of their lives for once without being menaced by Eggman's robots.

Unfortunately, we don't know Eggman's opinion on reality TV, but we do know what Orbot thinks of them. He believes that the people in them compete over useless things and how Eggman's been obsessing over them, which means that he and Cubot have their work getting piled up... Okay, is it just me or is this the most menacing, raw emotional that Orbot has ever looked? Because that one panel of him stewing in anger is pretty cool.

Cubot then points out how Eggman told them that this was ''research'' to break Sonic, with Orbot noting how he won't leave that chair until he's satisfied. Ah, so Eggman's suffering from writer's block (or is it mad scientist's block?). I can relate to that.

Also, hi Mecha Sonic Mark III. We haven't seen you since Sonic Adventure.

Orbot and Cubot then take a look at some of the ideas Eggman put on the wall, having a Pinky and the Brain moment as they get inspired by them.

We then cut to Green Hill, where Sonic is relaxing with Tails, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Big, Rouge and Omega.

It is all fun and games, until a Giant Chopper shows up, with Sonic nervously pointing at it.

The Giant Chopper then promptly eats them and swims off into the distance.

Roll credits.

Jokes aside, they're not dead, although that was a pretty novel way to kidnap all of them. Instead, they get dropped in some kind of dark room, having no clue what's going on.

The lights turn on, blinding them, with Orbot and Cubot announcing how they have been kidnapped to participate in Orbot and Cubot's Winter Jam.

Side-note, I love how Cubot taped eye-brows, it's really hilarious.

As the Badniks cheer them on, Cubot continues the speech about how the contestants will be put through trials, with the winner taking an amazing prize:

It's a Chaos Emerald!

Also, I may have lost the count, but I believe that so far, we only saw three Chaos Emeralds being found since the whole Metal Virus fiasco - one being taken by Rouge when Rough and Tumble teamed up with her and Tangle, the other being taken by Sonic and Tails and this being the third one. You may correct me on this.

Sonic and co. are not too thrilled about this, wondering if this is another trap, and Omega is about to blast his way out. Orbot and Cubot have an ''Oh, no!'' moment, and quickly quell Omega's bloodthirst by promising that he can fight against a brand-new, big, bad Badnik. Omega finds this acceptable, and I'm already laughing my ass off. This is promising to be good.

Cubot wants them to break into teams of three, probably as a reference to Sonic Heroes, but Orbot reminds him that they lack two members.

We then get a brief flashback of Shadow just glaring at the two when they attempt to ask him whether he'd join the competition and another flashback of Knuckles throwing them off Angel Island Team Rocket-style. I really wish we could've seen how that conversation went. I guess it's no wonder they outright kidnapped the rest of contestants.

In any case, after a short break, we everyone divided into teams of two - Team Sonic, consisting of Sonic and Tails; Team Dark, consisting of Rouge and Omega; Team Rose, consisting of Amy, Cream and Cheese; and Team Big, consisting of Big and Froggy.

I also love how there's a disclaimer about how all of the cast members agreed to filming. Sure, kidnapping the cast members is a-okay, but we draw the line at filming them without their consent.

We start of with Scene Jam!, where the contestants have to create a chill holiday party vibe. Tails has already the plans out to make this perfect, but Sonic decides to use his super speed to get it done quickly, getting caught in Big's fishing hook and just stumbling all over the place getting caught in the fairy lights. Love how Tails is just done with his brother's hijinks.

Rouge and Omega have better plans, with Rouge deciding to just steal the Chaos Emerald, while Omega serves as a distraction. Omega crafts some really neat wreath pieces... then promptly locks on Orbot and Cubot, with Rouge getting blown away by the explosion from behind.

Their side collapses, leaving them all buried in the rubble after Omega's antics. Meanwhile, Team Rose is doing quite well for themselves, making pastries and a cake... out of veggies? I don't think I'd want to taste that, but hey, it does look nice. Okay, let's just give these two the win and move on.

During the interview, Sonic does feel bad about costing him and Tails the win. Rouge is annoyed that Omega cost her stealing the Chaos Emerald with his antics, while Omega gives her the most deadpan response about her judgement possible. Cream is promising that she will make a whole feast just like that cake, with Amy just giving everyone a nervous look. As for Big, he's just happy that he can have fun.

Next is Snowball Jam!, with the goal being to get an Eggman Doll to the finish line without it getting damaged by the other teams. We get a brief comment from Sonic on how creepy they look before turning to Team Rose as they attempt to escape the barrage of snowballs Omega is sending after them, managing to damage the Eggman Doll.

Next we have Team Sonic, with Sonic being confident that his super speed can get them the win, and while he avoids the snowballs, the Eggman Doll still get shredded because it can't handle his super speed. Team Big just gives up, not even wanting to deal with this, giving Team Dark an easy win.

We go back to the interview room, with Sonic slowly losing his mind over losing the competition and Tails asking Orbot to cut this part out. Orbot's like ''Nope!'', and let's be honest, if there's one thing that viewers like, it's the drama behind the scenes. That, and it's always good to see Sonic show more raw emotion.

Rouge and Omega are happy about their victory, Cream and Amy are fine since they gave their best, while Big notices that Froggy is kinda acting strange.

We have a time skip through several other challenges, with everyone being exhausted and completely done with this nonsense. The next challenge is Sculpt Jam!, where they have to create the best ice sculpture.

Sonic and Tails, despite being tired, still give their best, creating a really cute sculpture of both of them, being a reference to their Classic versions. The issue they run into, however, are the fact that they also sculpted the noodle limbs, causing the legs to crack and the whole thing to break down.

Sonic can only stare in shock as he falls on his knees, completely defeated in both mind and spirit. Orbot then comments how Eggman may have been onto something with this reality TV stuff if Sonic can break down like this.

While Team Dark and Team Rose are doing their own thing, Big is still confused by why Froggy is acting strange, only to for the frog to suddenly fire a laser blast at the ice block, creating a sculpture of a rather shapely Dr. Eggman holding the Chaos Emerald.

Orbot and Cubot panic, because let's be real, I doubt that Froggy should be capable of doing this.

They then reveal that Froggy is actually a production plant, much to everyone's shock (and Sonic's exasperation, although that may be because Amy's hugging him), while Rouge is trying to quietly sneak away. I do love how even the Badniks are shocked by this.

Cubot explains how Froggy wasn't captured, so they had to improvise and how this is the ''big, bad Badnik'' they used to bait Omega, which I find hysterical that they get called out on it.

Omega immediately locks on and just destroys the entire arena, while Rouge swipes the Chaos Emerald.

Eggman appears, pissed off about the ruckus, while Orbot and Cubot turn to the ''PRESS IF HECKED UP'' button.

This button launches all the contestants out of the Egg Base straight back into Green Hill, with Sonic once again face-planting and getting hit by the Chaos Emerald.

Eh, at least Big is happy that he found the real Froggy.

Tails notes how all's well that ends well, which makes more sense to be said in this kind of environment than a flooded Station Square, while Rouge notes how this was the most annoying way of getting a Chaos Emerald. Honestly, I thought it was hilarious.

Amy figures it was worth it, as we see Green Hill covered in snow and decorated. I assume that those are the remains of the Winter Jam, sent flying along with them. Sonic doesn't care, wanting to enjoy the moment while it lasts.

We then get a nice image of everyone playing in the snow, before cutting back to Eggman, who is annoyed that this was the culmination of all of his research.

He calls it garbage, deletes and destroys all of his ideas and Orbot and Cubot give each other a thumbs up, happy they got him to be more productive than just stare at the TV the whole day.

All in all, Winter Jam was pure hilarity and I loved seeing Sonic and co. being put through reality TV challenges just to see how they'd handle it, with a special shout-out to Sonic's nervous breakdown after losing his challenges.

With this, we end The Misadventures Arc, and while technically Fang the Hunter should be next on the list, it technically serves as a prequel to Sonic Superstars and I want to, for now, go through the main story instead of the Classic one.

In other words, our next arc is The Phantom Rider Arc, and I am excited to get into that one!

Hi hi hiii :) super long rambling murderbot episode 1 + 2 episode thoughts under the cut ⬇️ it’s unlikely that anyone who follows me on here is into murderbot BUT! if you are please hit my line so we can discuss 🙏

I had surgery about a week ago and have had a really rough recovery from it (like. real bad.) so i have been SUPER looking forward to seeing the murderbot show and it definitely delivers!!!

First off I wanna say I loveeee sec units armor in the show. it’s definitely different than how it’s described in the books/art but i feel like that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. to me it makes perfect sense that MB would be absolutely COVERED in the companys logo and i think helps convey the specific kind of weird a sec unit is. like imagine if YOU 🫵 were a space communist scientist and you were forced to bring a robot with you on your mission that you dont want and it was absolutely covered in tesla and amazon logos? also it has guns. also its ALWAYS listening. and according to your beliefs it is the same as a human being. would be … creepy. also i think it helps hammer in the point of how MB is JUST considered a product its RIGHT THERE in your face every. single. time. you see its helmet.

the costuming in general is just really great :) i like how real everything feels and it just LOOKS GOOD like its made of real fabrics and not that cheep weird fabrics im seeing so much off in most tv shows and movies nowadays

The performance given by MBs actor is sooo good!!! i wasn’t convinced that fully convinced that the would be able to fully capture how autistic MB is. but I was wrong!!! and like. this is the most repented ive ever felt by a piece of media . this is of course largely how i felt about the book series already but the performance given really added to that. the way that MB speaks when it talks outloud is just!!! like i do a lot of the time!!!! especially when im uncomfortable or scared!!! the sort of awkward staggering sentences!!! the “weird” tone. I DO THAT!!! WE HAVE ALMOST THE SAME CADENCE !!! AND THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!!!!!!!! MB not being able to control its facial expressions is something thats mentioned a lot and very relatable but like!!! the actor is pulling the same faces as i do regularly!!!!-!-!-$718272 ITS JUST LIKE ME FR 😭😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️ as well as its body language!!!! oh my god!!!!! all the acting is sooo so good so far :)) everyone is doing such a good job yayy 😁😁😁

Things that a bit worried about: in the books several of the characters of multiple partners and its a casual normal thing but it seems like. they might be changing this a little for drama?

in the books dr mensah is mentioned to having multiple life partners as well as several kids while in the show they ONLY mention the kids which by itself is doesn’t matter but with everything else makes me go…hrm. first off the way the present pin-lee and arada (? i get the humans named mixed up a lot so apologies if i do that here) as specifically being MARRIED instead of life partners is an interesting choice? combined with their conversation about not having a ���contract” with an unnamed ex-third who pin-lee calls crazy while they discuss asking ratthi followed immediately by pin-lee going “if shes happy…im happy…” when arada leaves??? ermmm??? and then actually having ratthi sign a contract before getting together??? its not really a big deal because MB hates romance so it only briefly talks about it a few times and tbh i do nawttt remember really any romance stuff i also have a tendency to skip those parts. so maybe im misrepresenting it but i thought a society were it was normal and extremely common for people to have multiple relationships really interesting!!

they added a scene were MB gets interrogated by gurathin which wasn’t in the book if i remember right and i REALLYYYY enjoyed that. MB saying “i dont know what its like not to be me so i cant say what its like” when asked what its like to be a sec unit oh my god. oh my god. banger. this robot is AUTISTIC! also i love how they added mensah having panic attacks! i absolutely adore her and i think showing her struggling with mental health issues but still being such a strong and great leader is really cool and a good addition .

i loved EVERY scene with sanctuary moon!!! its so funny and campy and i love the star trek references ehhehehe i love the crazy crazy hair on that one guy. over all its really solid!!! and im excited for more! i just REALLYYYY hope they dont add an unnecessary jealousy plotline

SD in general means Super Deformed, it's a chibi style that's not unique to Kamen Rider (Gundam also has a bunch of SD stuff, mentioning it here bc i love those models :3)

But since you're asking in relation with my art, here's the ones I made art for:

SD The Great Battle

A series of videogames that's a crossover between Kamen Rider, Gundam and Ultraman characters, all in the SD style. An original character called Fighter Roar joins the team from the second game on. They're very fun and wacky game that don't really have a coherent plot but we love them for that :3 In IV they get a giant robot (Compatible Kaiser my beloved) and in V they're cowboys. I love the cowboy outfits so much. Games one to five have english fan translations, now I need someone to translate Gaia Saver because apparently that one has the Rider Killer lore....

Kamen Rider SD: Strange!? Man Spider (or simply Kamen Rider SD OVA)

If you've been around the fandom you probably already know this one. It's a 30 minutes short where RX and the other Battle Riders (Ichigo and ZX) have to rescue RX's crush from shocker, with the help of the Mechanic Riders (V3, X and Super1). Wild Team (Stronger, Amazon and Nigo) appears for like. 3 minutes total at the end but they're my darlings and I love them. Other very important thing in this short is the Rider Carrier, a giant robot grasshopper that acts as their base and I think every version of the riders shoul have a giant grasshopper base not just the SDs u.u This short is apparently an adaptation from the Mighty Riders manga, but I haven't investigated it yet so I can't confirm that. It's also connected to a couple more SD videogames, Sortie!! Rider Machines and Run! Mighty Riders (the team names come from here as far as I can tell)

Kamen Rider SD: Hurricane Legend / Kamen Rider SD: Legend of the Stormy Age

(listen. I know the direct translation is the first one. But the second one is on the back cover so if they gave it an official english title I'm using that :P)

This is probably the one you're asking for, but I wanted to use the excuse to talk about the other two :P

I'll be honest, going in blind on this one is probably the best experience. Do not look up panels you will get spoiled. The basic plot is V3 and Riderman travel around to recruit the other Riders to defeat Shocker. I want to talk about it more but again, I had so much fun going "WHAT!?!" while reading it that I must resist- Might post more about them but will tag it as spoilers

Other SD stuff that I care less about, for completionist sake:

• there's a third SD manga (Kamen Rider SD: Roaring Laughs School) that I know nothing of (I think it's a 4koma gag manga? I'll be honest I'm not very interested in it so I haven't done much research);

• the most recent SD game is SD Shin Kamen Rider Rumble, a game for the movie, but that one seems to be simply a side scroller so again, no interest from me;

• Lost Heroes 1 and 2 technically use chibi-ish versions of Riders, Gundams and Ultramen, and are part of the Compati Hero series (the same series as The Great Battle), but they don't have SD in the title;

•there's. sooooo many sports games in the Compati Hero series. I like the Battle Dodgeball ones :3 Also speaking of Compati Hero, special mention to Super Hero Operations because that's the next one I wanna play, I get to meet Zubat, Metalder and a bunch of others there :3

Firstly, what inspired you to give the DCA a frozen half mask? I honestly find it to be SUCH a cool design choice and I wanna know your design process! :D

Secondly (DCA related again </3), what’s your interpretation on Eclipse within your universe? Do they exist? Are they a third entity, a combination of Sun and Moon, a security program with no learning AI, or perhaps something else entirely? I’d love to hear your thoughts! (Personally I interpret them as a combination/security program :0!)

Lastly (yes… once more… DCA related…), do you have any fun facts about Sun, Moon, and Chica’s friendship that you’ve been itching to share? Or haven’t gotten the chance to touch on yet? This AU honestly made me grow really attached to the idea of the DCA and Glam Chica being friends! It’s so so SO sweet!

GOLLY HI!!! Sorry, I didn't see this till now! I'm so glad you're enjoying my stuff, thank you!!! I don't have a name for this "AU" since it kinda started as just this series of snippets of the DCA and Chica being besties and then it started bleeding into all the feelings I had about SB's corporate horror subtext and all of the assumptions I'd had about the direction they would take the story after Help Wanted, and now it's kind of a….retelling-slash-one off comics story. If you or anybody else has name ideas for this on-going saga I'd love to hear them so that I could put it all in a dedicated tag! Now that I've got that ramble out of the way I'll answer your questions! (I lied I'm gonna ramble more cuz I'm really good at it ksfdlnlksdfnlksndf)

1) I have a tendency to redesign characters a bit when I make fan art because trying to stay on model to the original design makes my art come out a bit stiff. I'd seen a lot of fan art for the DCA where they had their whole mouth move, but with the way their faces have a "moon" side, it made me think of a Phantom of the Opera mask. Then I heard that in the Pizzaplex books they were apparently a theater robot that was repurposed for the daycare, so I just decided to lean into it! I've been playing with the idea of making the eye holes on Sun and Moon's mask different to mimic the tragedy/comedy masks!

2) Ooooh the security program is an interesting idea!!! So, I don't know how actual programming stuff works. And since I believe that the robots in FNAF have been sentient since Sister Location, meaning that they've been advancing robo sentience in-universe further for years, I tend to play around with the sentience and the programming fighting with each other at times. When it comes to what I think Eclipse is…. I'm actually gonna put that under a spoiler because it's something I've been teasing at and I can't keep story secrets to save my life, so you can look at that answer ~ at your own risk oooOOOooooOOOooo ~ Now. To answer the third point and give you that Eclipse spoiler. I need to add it in a reblog. Because I was writing out this whole thing....and I wrote so much that I hit the text limit. Which I have never done before. Which also freaked Tumblr out and it wouldn't let me post this no matter how much I erased. (WIP Title): The Sonic Onesie Collection

An Isaac mod that adds a ton of new items, a few new enemy types and a few new bosses!

New items (I've already sprited/for sure would include):

Sonic Onesie (first picture) - maxes out and maybe even makes speed faster than the base? Also gives one soul heart.

Shadow Onesie (second picture) - speed up (not nearly as much as Sonic) and evil up, increasing chances of devil deals spawning & giving you a black heart.

Amy Onesie (third picture) - damage & luck up, as well as heals one red heart upon taking the item :)

Tails Onesie (fourth picture) - luck down & permanent flight upgrade - pretty useless as the lost/tainted lost x)

Knuckles Onesie (fifth picture) - damage & hp up, similar to "meat"

New Bosses

Metal Sonic & NEO Metal Sonic - both would be mini bosses that are able to randomly appear on a floor similar to the 7 deadly sins. NEO of course would appear on later floors similar to how the super versions of the 7 deadly sins appear. I have to idea how his actual bossfight would work but I had the idea he could rev up and aim for ur direction and u have to avoid it, and maybe drops some bombs as well. This version of Metal Sonic is basically a metal version of Isaac in a sonic Onesie! My hope for this mod is to make a Sonic mod that could also manage to fit into Isaac's aesthetic, due to the fact Isaac already makes a ton of references to different video games so I think this could work :D

Dr. Eggman - not exactly how you would expect the doctor to look like, but I was imagining him to, for this Isaac mod, to be an Embryo in an egg with a mustache and glasses. He would be a womb I boss and my idea for his attacks is basing him off of the classic sonic games where he would be in a machine with a wrecking ball attached that he flies around the arena randomly. I have a new enemy type too, Motobugs, that he would randomly spawn during the battle of his first phase. In his second phase he gets really angry and starts to intentionally target you and chase you around, acting similar to War & that one embryonic boss I forgot of but idc about searching up. Anyways yeah

New Enemy Type

MOTOBUGS - Basically they are motobugs that are styled the same way that robots in Isaac are drawn. They move about fast and randomly similar to buttlickers. After taking enough hits either a charger/maggot or a leach will emerge out of the motobug and you must kill it to move on from the room.

Other Ideas

I have the idea that, in addition to the Onesies, I would wanna add character specific items, most likely active items for each character, that players can find in treasure rooms and such.

For example, I have an idea for Shadow's being a chaos emerald active item that would allow the player to teleport to a place of choice they aim for after using the active item. It would be a bit similar to Stitches but uh. I'll figure out how to make it more different. I have another idea for Amy's active item, I'm not sure the specific one but I was thinking to make a tarot related item, maybe an active item that upon use activates a random card effect?

That's about all the ideas I have so far. Hope they're uh, sorta interesting. lol

Monday without my darling was hard for me. I had to suffer watching him from afar as he talked to the leader of the student council. Of course, I was close behind the two of them. I can't trust anyone, especially not Saikou. I trust him even less because of these new cameras. It'll be harder for me to do anything since it'll all be taped. So, keeping a close watch on him makes sense.

Today is now Tuesday, and that means another day without my darling. I will try to keep a close eye on them, but I do have certain things to tend to. Specifically, regarding Info. She sent me an odd text message in the morning. She wants me to stop by her club room. I found this to be odd. If she wanted to tell me something, she would do so over the phone. Unless it's a physical document or item, then she'll just drop it out her window, and I'll go pick it up. This is odd coming from her.

When I arrived at school, I quickly switched my shoes and started to go up to the third floor where her club is located. I walked by many students, but sadly, none of them were my darling. He must be in the student council room with that pathetic excuse of a school leader. I eventually make it to Info's club room. Her club room was an odd looking one. A dual set of thick, beige curtains decorated the windows and remained closed at all times. A camera was placed on the ceiling right outside of the club room, which was the only camera on campus before the huge overhaul. And the doors never seemed to open. It's like they were only for decoration.

I stand in front of the doors, and I wait. I look up towards the camera because I know she is currently inside watching me. Possibly even laughing at me. I hope this isn't a waste of time.

Then the impossible happens, one of the doors slides open. I step back in surprise. I look inside and I see a dark void, the lights weren't on. But I could see something, and it was a mountain of monitors that gave the room a small light source.

"Come in, or I'm shutting you out," a familiar robotic voice calls out to me. I quickly made my way inside, and the doors snapped shut behind me. I look over towards the light, and I see her. She's sitting at her desk looking and clicking through random webpages and different accounts.

She suddenly stops and rotates her chair, so she's looking at me now. "Happy you could come. I don't offer this opportunity to many," she tells me, framing this meeting as a privilege to have. I still can't see her face, but I do see a glint come from her red framed glasses.

"What did you want to show me? You're cutting into my time," I dismiss her and her cockiness. I don't have time to deal with her if I don't get anything valuable from her.

"You know, Ayato," she starts off, and it catches my attention. Maybe she's going to say something valuable to me, "I find you to be very interesting. You probably think I'm messing with you, but I'm not. I know more about you than you'll ever know, and what I find is so - I don't actually know how to put it. But interesting would be the best."

"What's that supposed to mean?" She seems to ignore me and spins her chair back around so she's now facing the monitors.

"But I'll make one thing clear. I do value you the most out of all the clients I have," she admits to me, but I don't believe her. I've heard of her having other clients, but I never bothered to look into it because I wouldn't gain anything from it.

"Get to the point. Why did you want me to come here in the first place?" I ask her as the clicking from her mouse and keyboard fill the room's silence. I'm getting tired of all this side conversation. Can't she tell me why she wanted me here in the first place?

"Well, I have a client. But he is rather odd," she explains to me, and it doesn't really help with my impatience.

"Who is he?"

"Kencho Saikou."

"Wait... does he have any relations to the Saikou Corporation?"

"Second son, second in line."

Now, I was intrigued. Different plans started to take shape in my mind. I could befriend this Saikou, I could kidnap him and hold him for ransom or even kill him. Any of these would surely make the older Saikou crumble.

"I see what you're thinking, Aishi, and I want you to snap out of it. Killing him wouldn't matter at all. And Kencho knows this better than anyone else," she tells me, giving small insight into the fact that she has already met him before.

"Why is this important to me? How is he going to help me?" Being in association with a Saikou could give me an upper hand, but it's clear that Kencho is at the bottom of the line. He might as well be a normal teenager and not the son of the most influential man in Japan.

"Megamo is planning something. I won't tell you what it is, but just know that it will affect you the most," she then hovers her cursor over a picture of the youngest Saikou,"he doesn't like his older brother at all. And you could help him with what he wants."

"What does he want?"

"Expose his family and the school of everything they have hidden from the public." Info then pulls herself closer to her desk and starts to open up different documents. "Come over here and read them."

I step closer, and I start to read the different websites she pulled up. "That article is about Kina, and that's a police report about Rana. If he's gonna expose this, then I'll get exposed, too."

"True. Only if you left anything behind. For Rana, you're fine in regards to that case. Kina's case is a cold case now, and I think it'll stay that way. Kencho doesn't care about the killer. He cares because of the fact that his father and grandfather paid people to not talk about it," Info informs me. So Kencho isn't trying to play detective. He is trying to let the public know of all the events that have been hidden from them.

"Do you understand now? He isn't trying to expose you, but he is trying to expose his family. As a type of revenge, for always having him as a second choice," Info then puts away the websites, "Are you going to take the offer? This could change everything."

She is right. This could change everything. The Saikou family will be looked at differently, Akademi will be met with a new wave of scrutiny, but maybe through it all, I could get my darling.

"I'll do it."

Info then opens a drawer and shuffles through a few items. I can hear different items smashing against each other. If I had to assume, I would guess it's computer parts and old cables. She seems to find what she was looking for and closes the drawer back up. "Take this. It's a burner phone. It's best to use this, so if anything happens, it will make it harder for them to connect anything to you."

I take the silver colored flip phone, and I open it up. A bright, white screen greets me. It boots up and makes a chime before taking me to the home screen where an outdated, blue wallpaper from a long forgotten era greets me. I close the phone and I put it in my pocket.

I decide to finally take my leave. Before I can make it towards the door, her voice calls out towards me.

"Rana."

"What about him?"

"His first jury trial is set for this Friday. I know you are supposed to testify. Will you be going?"

"I'll go. After all, my darling will be there too."

I start to walk over to the door, and I open it up. Before I fully step out, I hear a few familiar words.

"It was a pleasure doing business with you."

ONE PIECE 1122 SPOILERS REVIEW

I want to say there are a lot of things that I find really interesting in this chapter. The whole narratove, lore, development, there are a lot of things to talk.

The first one is the fact that there has been the belift that ONLY pirates would be able to find the one piece, which was proof to be false, everyone could find the one piece and here we are reading people's reaction to that. Some of them react ingenous or reacive and untrusty but others react with emotion.

What I find interesting is there's someone saying that "isn't that the reason on why the world sank in first place?" And it's so interesting this because ffor what we know, the reason of why the world is sinking is the goverment not necesarily the pirates.

Anad Vegapunk also mentioned a lot of being in a neutral side of what happened. I mean, we still don't have a lot of info but it's just curious to point it.

Second aspect is Koby and a lot of people will be hateful or angry at him but listen to me.

Luffy didn't help Koby expecting him to gave his life and dreams for Luffy, he didn't hope that Koby would quit his own dreams just for Luffy and this is a big mischaracterized thing the fandom has towards them.

We saw Luffy and Koby more as friends than rivals when in reality, Luffy and Koby's relationship is a pretty resemble to Garp and Roger's relationship, which means that both are RIVALS and friends, Koby's sense of duty intervene on Luffy's goal, so they would eventually be in each others path but in opposite sides.

This was something already established since Water 7, they both knew they were growing stronger and that some day they would need to face each other and it was even more confirmed in Marineford where both of them "fight" for their own goals and their conclusion of the whole event was almost the sense "I need to get stronger"

Luffy is not expecting Koby to be only his friend but also his rival, so don't feel betrayed by Koby saying something that was already established!

My third aspect and probably my biggest point is Elmeth.

Oh boy, I cried so much with this giant robot but let's explore slowly.

I LOVE the way is constantly telling us that LUFFY IS NOT JOYBOY HIMSELF! JoyBoy is dead, so it can't be him, Elmeth said it by himself(?) And I think that was such a beautiful writing, "there's no way that you are still alive but it looks alike you so much, I can't avoid to feel like that time" (forgive my bad translation pls)

The sense of nostalgia of Elmeth knowing that JoyBoy is dead but even with that he can still see him through Luffy in a certain way that even if it's not JoyBoy, it's still similar to him.

And this is what I love about Oda, he literally went directly to say "Luffy is Luffy", hiw personality, his story, his goals and motivations are because of his own persona, not only because being related to JoyBoy and I like the way just reafirm by saying "I think you confused me with another person", he is just unaware of all the comparision and history JoyBoy could have because he doesn't think as himself as JoyBoy.

And finally, the part that broke my heart was when Elmeth was talking to JoyBoy and they are full "I will help you from the past" and "thank you, it makes me really happy because when you died I will know that you would still be by my side" "there's a lot of time yet, so much time that is hard to me to think that I will be alone in the future"

BOY I WAS BAWLING MY EYES. It's just the way so sweet that Elmeth talks about and to JoyBoy, you can sense his love for this person that now It's just vanished in time and that is a vague memory from someone in the past. THE WHOLE ANGST IS SO HEARTBREAKING.

And as someone in grief, this hits double, because it's a feeling that I have feel due to missing my beloved ones, it's a feelings that a lot of people have of wanting to know that no matter what, the other one would be always with us even if they are not in a physical state and it just hit me so hard.

And this stuff is what makes One piece so especial to me, the way that made me cried isn't normal, this knot in my throat because the grief felt so real when I was reading. It just the nostalgic aspects that really push me more as well.

A lot of people focus more intol the whole haki revealed and the way JoyBoy looks but to me the most precious part of One piece would be this type of emotional writing.

this is the first one i had made, i brought her back years later with tweaks (and ive even drawn her more than twice now!)

typha (teye fa like the plant i named her after) is comically short for a globox person and is strangely antisocial for one too. she just can NOT stand other people and flips them off for bothering her (some people mess with her on purpose)

she lives in a hut in a swamp, theres a small community of other people there but she refuses to befriend any of them. shes annoyed by anyone and everyone. goes off to pick up some pickles or something and says as little as possible to the cashier and ignores everyone else

seemingly the only person she likes is this tiny little mosqito (which also has been around the whole time but i still never named) which also lives in this hut. she takes care of the mosquit but im not sure what the relationship here is

typha is not like. actively rude in the way glombrox is, she actively goes out of her way to AVOID people instead of messing with them

now all the other ocs are more recent. i originally made this one for a bestiary type thing that i havent done much with still, but i like the oc that resulted out of it

plume (Plume van Teenhoek) is a teensy biologist, intensely dedicated to documenting all the wildlife in the glade

shes also comically tall for a teensy (a bit taller than rayman). sort of less susceptible to back issues though because some of her relatives are nookins (nookins are just built different). the fact that shes so tall makes her almost as tall as typha though, which is nuts. like thats a globox species person and a teensy being basically the same height!

anyway plume is like. kind of unhinged. when shes not pestering other people with questions about their biology, shes traveling everywhere into dangers and putting herself into trouble just to find out stuff like the behavior of these robotic morays they have at the spy bases. nobody loves animals as much as this teensy. she would do anything for animals

she can be a bit scatterbrained when it comes to stuff that doesnt directly relate to biology though. and definitely doesnt know what a proper etiquette is

also shes bald and has no eyelashes lmao

for both typha and plume i answered an oc questionnaire a while back so heres some highlights that describe more about them

2. Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child? typha if only like… that little mosquit? idk what exactly the relationship is plume would in theory but shes too busy moving all over the glade studyidng other animals to take care of her own anything

8. Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them? i tink typha would be kind of frustrated but stubbornly keep going plume would be ecstatic to try and fgirue these out though

11. They’ve won the lottery. Spend, or save? typha lives in a swamp i dont know if she even knows or cares about the concept of money. so i dont know what she would do. she doesnt know what she would do either plume would use it to fund her research efforts

14. Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any? typha yeah. wouldnt be caught dead engaging in these ( i also dont know what they are ) but plume has absolutely 0 shame

15. What would they consider a waste of time– other than school or work? typha: other people. plume: having to wait to just get anywhere with nothing in particular happening

17. Do they like children? typha just finds them annoying. plume is very intrigued by the biological aspects of children and how they develop and stuff, also just finds them cute

19. Do they study before tests? Practice before job interviews? again typha lives in a swamp but i think she wouldnt care to do it until its too late. plume studies feverisjly for fun if its what she likes, but otherwise forgets to do it until its almost too late

30. What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven? i dont think typha would want to really do anything if she just doesnt like to interact with peopel so its not even just being mean to them or whatever plume would use the opportunity to really annoy someone with biology questions if she knew she would actually get answered and not shoved aside

and reiterated throughout the answers here is that neither of them are in a relationship, nor do they want to be in one. one of the only common traits they have with each other lmao (besides height)

shes a red wizard. just kind of stoned all the time (often chews on strange plants) and is constantly zoned out. but like. not too much so she can sitll focus on platforming stuff (cuz shes from a ubiart 3 concept). uses spells to attack, but sometimes gets scared of bad guys and generally far less confident in combat stuff than globox is

The Origin

mermaid name pending (but a stupid idea i have is like. verdana or calibri or candara or helv or lucida). shes like a tour guide to her place (atlantis but with globoxes (thats from origins i elaborated upon it)) for any land people who might visit

likes land people in general. sometimes sits on rocks above water and does the whole siren song thing, except its to get the land people to come close so they can hang out with her and play like. Underwater Checkers

despite this she can NOT go on land, i mean she can breathe there just. cant move around (without crawling and potentially damaging her fins). sitting on a rock is about the most shes gonna get

Atlantis But With Globoxes has them all as merpeople. teensies live there too but still have legs and such and just had to make buildings encased in air bubbles for themselves (lake kingdom supe rmario odyssey). they all had a prosperous civilization on their island (on land) but had to quickly adapt when some other great spirit got mad at them and sunk their island underwater forever. it was long ago so red fish lady here already comes from several generations of mermaids

also this is all in sea of serendipity. so red wizards are decently used to mermaids showing up (and pestering them about how to fish better)

also tail fin is horizontal, like on whales rather than fish. the paired back fins are more on the underside of the body, on the beige portion, i just accidentally got it wrong in one of the drawings here

pirate captain (i think the names bonny, feels a bit on the nose though) literally lost her eye, and sails the glade to find it (but its been so long shes mostly just sailing for the sake of it at this point). and keeps being in scraps with sea creatures in general, therefore numerous scars, even more under the cloak. shes actually far less threatening than she might seem at first though

also has a pet glute like a shoulder parrot. it doesnt do much other than caww(?) at random times and steal the leftover fish reserves. AND it eats the rats that get on the ship which IS pretty useful

best way i had to describe pirate lady here is basically rockhopper from club penguin. same type thing of being nice and not actually doing any piracy. its more of an aesthetic i guess. and the pirate accent she ABSOLUTELY has the accent

otherwise theyre like. completely non threatening. very friendly and spends a lot of time reading whatever books are on the ship, can read incredibly water damaged texts somehow. you look at what theyre reading (just reading casually with no frustration whatsoever) and it looks completely unintelligible. like matey how are you reading that

manages to avoid trouble from sea creatures by running very fast. also only kinda above average height for a teensy

quidee (named after a spore creature because of course). i made her in starbound. sillyfunny. dual axe wielder but often uses some other weapons (mostly this thing). has a pet walking shell, which randomly changed colors once (which is my justification for the fact that i completely broke it while trying to change something in the mod and the game just spawned a new walking shell when i undid the changes)

as per my starbound mod lore, is from the glade but volunteered to be transported to lord knows where in space alongside other glade people, and she kept getting in Situations

in any case shes having fun on this random aimless journey beating up bad guys and talking to random bird or ape or sun people etc. and she made a village to get new buddys from the glade : ) (theyre tenants)

her first appearance was in a quest where one of the tenants (lee, hes a green guy of the same species) requested to find her because she somehow managed to get lost deep in an avian tomb (where literally every quest npc on this planet winds up being for some reason)

then another tenant (who was a teensy, mouche) wanted to become cookies bestie (by getting me to give her a. single gold ingot, which is like, not rare at all) and THEN cookie literally immediately after had a quest for ME (to beat up unrelated avians in the same avian tomb) and then i completed it and she decided she wanted to be a crewmember now. so i gave her some clothes i had on hand (i dyed the shirt blue though) and i immediately love her forever

she is stupit<3 as ive said. and she has a big shotgun and shes really good at knocking back enemies with the big shotgun

also that is the 6th or 8th (depending on whether you count the quasi ocs or not) addition to my collection of Women Globols. i am the #1 worldwide export of ocs that are globoxes and women

also theres my sona which is a teensy (and the shortest of the bunch cuz im short) but the sona doesnt have any lore or anything. its just something to put on a pfp to represent myself . as a teensy

2024 Book Review #19 – Klara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro

This is the third book I’ve picked up as part of my whole aspirational ‘read a piece of non-SFF capital-l Literature every month’ New Years resolution. Of those three, it is the second I opened only to discover it actually is science fiction and/or fantasy after all. Which is just a very funny thing to happen twice, and also meant the book was significantly less outside my comfort zone than I’d expected. Which did make it quite a pleasant read.

The story follows Klara, an AF (Artificial Friend, a companion robot for children) in a broadly sketched and mildly dystopian future America. At first it just follows her life in the shop where she’s kept, observing the world around her and interacting with the store manager and the other AFs, but the meat of the book is her life with the family who buys her. Over time you learn that Josie, her child, suffers from severe and increasing health issues as a consequence of being ‘lifted’ (genetically enhanced, in some unclear way) in the womb. Klara, being solar-powered and having quietly developed a one-robot religion underpinned by a firm belief in the power and benevolence of Mr. Sun (and a moral opposition to Pollution, which obscures and drives him away) does her best to invoke his help in nourishing and restoring Josie. At the same time, she learns that her job is not just to comfort Josie but, should she die, to be her mother’s replacement goldfish and imitate her perfectly.

The setting is broadly sketched and never really exposited upon – it’s just not something Klara is particularly interested in – but it’s a very modern sort of dystopia. Much of the populace, even among the American professional elite, have been left ‘post-employed’ by robotic automation. The remaining meritocratic elite have embraced novel and risky genetic enhancements for their children, as the only possible way of ensuring they get into a good school and one of the few good careers left. There are fascist militia compounds off in the distance somewhere. The overall feeling is that of a society dimly aware it’s midway through collapsing, but with no ideas of how to arrest its fall. But since Klara has no interest at all in either politics or economics, we only see this as it directly intrudes upon the story, with nary a lecture or manifesto to be seen.

I’ve only ever read one other book by Ishiguro, so I really don’t know how much this generalizes, but the similarities to Never Let Me Go really were striking. Both books are set in really rather horrifying societies, but portrayed in an utterly normalized way by someone who never even thinks to question the real rules they live under. Which is even more striking because in both cases the protagonist is seen by society as only quasi-human – like a person, but existing only in relation to and for the benefit of the people who really matter. And in both cases the story follows the protagonist who lives their life moving through the role they were made for without ever really resisting it, let alone changing it. Not that the roles of ‘friend to sick child’ and ‘mandatory organ donor’ are exactly comparable but, you know.

A definition I’ve always kind of liked for what makes literary fiction, well, literary is that it’s as or more concerned with the beauty and presentation of its prose than it is on the information the prose is conveying. Not at all true in terms of how the term’s actually used (genre is marketing), but it works for me, and lets this book count as literature quite handily. The whole story is told quite tightly from Klara’s point of view, and it’s a pleasure to read. Even if it took me more than a few pages to really understand how she described scenes, always foregrounding the ways they were divided by grids or patterns of the sun’s light.

Portraying the normal human society through the eyes of a naive and somewhat alien narrator to get away without explaining everything is a classic sci fi trope for a reason, but it’s overall used really well here as well.

I’m still not entirely sure how to interpret the sudden intrusion of magical realism with the ending. But otherwise, really quite a good read.

i'm not sure how much you know about fnaf but there are a couple au's relating to that i keep throwing around in my head involving tim.

tim, terrified of animatronics which he's seen get stuffed with dead bodies or used to actively murder children, gets caught by older cousins/friends/secret third option and put into an animatronic's mouth, which bites down and crushes his skull. he recovers with the help of the drake's friend william who owned the restaurant (and is the murderer killing children), but suffers night terrors. the drakes then offer to take him to the circus that's in town as per recommendation from their therapist and we all know how that goes.

now tim's triple traumatized and the drakes ask the help of william to take care of how tim's behaving, and he constructs the plot of fnaf 4, with giant haunting robots attacking him in his bedroom, to experiment around with tim while his parents are outside of the country, and any time he tries telling them the truth they chock it up to trauma.

eventually, william, as per fnaf lore, gets killed in a confrontation of the ghosts of the children he killed, stuffed in a golden bunny suit. without him the robots that haunt him are still active, but without william around there's nothing stopping him from leaving the house, encouraging his stalking habits and allowing him to see batman and robin in action. he becomes obsessed with them and he becomes robin and red robin and what not.

then he finds out that william is still alive in the suit, and is killing nightguards and experimenting with the other dead children, and he tries to stop him, first going to an underground storage facility to enact the plot of fnaf sister location, where at the end his internal organs get scooped out and his empty body used as a husk for the robots in the facility to escape.

eventually, tim's body decays and they leave, but tim is still alive somehow. now tim is undead, and is working on deconstructing the robots and ending the legacy of william, freeing the souls in the process. the entire time, the bats being ignorant to what he's doing until he kills himself in a fire with everything related to fazbear, william, and the robots.

i prefer the bats, and other heroes or villains, being there while the robots from the facility (ennard), leave red robin/tim drake's body. the cutscene from the game is 8 bit, but in essence he starts shaking, his eyes go black, his jaw unhinges and he falls flat to the floor as the entity leaves his body. he gets up eventually, but when could change the story alot.

i know some parts are vague but idk how much fnaf lore you know and it's an interesting idea even without full knowledge of the story of the fnaf games. just tim having an extreme traumatic experience as a child, viewing batman and robin's ability to overcome their experiences by working together and keeping gotham safe and thinking more highly of them because he associates them with freedom and nights of peace even though he doesn't sleep.

this is getting really long BUT every time bruce sends tim home tim has to face actual nightmare creatures trying to kill him with more broken or hurt limbs than he would have otherwise. and bruce just doesn't notice.

Fuck. I really don't know much about FNAF lore, so this was a bit of a wild ride (in a good way!). The only exposure I've had to FNAF is playing what I think was the first game (though I couldn't live past the second night) and one MHA fic. The fic was a very very interesting concept of Midoriya, before he went to UA, getting trapped in a virtual world by someone's quirk. He basically had to complete 7 horror games as if he was living through them. One of the games was FNAF (and the animatronics gain consciousness. It's freaky). I didn't finish the fic, but the concept was rad as hell.

I haven't read it, but there are also some FNAF fics with Tim and John Constantine.

I love how much your AU is torturing poor Tim. He doesn't get a break when he's done with Robin. He's got to continuously deal with all this shit and traumatize his family with the way he dies. I'm a little lost on the exact timeline here, but I'm vibing with the ideas

Before you started this job, you had a different expectation. The position was sold to you in such an irresistible way that rejecting it seemed impossible. You were going to work for a superstar, and you'd be known by everyone. Perhaps the promise was a bit exaggerated, and though you didn't fully buy into that last part, you decided to apply for the position anyway. After all, being Mettaton's assistant at his MTT Resort—the grandest, most imposing building in all of the Underworld—didn’t sound that bad.

However, as you stepped through the gates of your new beginning, your hopes were quickly shatered. This was nothing like it had been presented. First, the fountain adorned with a statue of your boss’ old form was poorly constructed. A large puddle had gathered on the otherwise gleaming marble floor, a direct result of the poorly made design. The restaurant, while decent was far too dimly lit, as though they were cutting costs on lighting. The receptionist, quite strangely, was just a hand—literally. On the bright side, you had to say that the MTT fast food chain was running efficiently, but only thanks to some overworked employees. One of them gave you all the chilling details about your new boss.

“Good luck,” the young boy said with a forced smile, his voice lacking enthusiasm. “Though, you probably won’t need it.” His gaze drifted, lost in the depths of his own despair.

Despite the boy’s demoralizing words, you held on to a sliver of hope. Maybe Mettaton wasn’t as terrible as everyone made him out to be. Sure, there was that time he tried to kill that little kid. Or the times he belittled Burgerpants for his poor performance. Not to mention the exploitation of his staff and his temper. Or at least thats what you had been told by the burger boy.

“What have I gotten myself into?” you wondered aloud, your concern growing with each passing moment as you made your way to the elevator.

You stepped onto Mettaton’s floor, uncertain of what awaited you. You weren’t too worried about getting the job itself. If he was truly an exploiter, it would likely be easy—like a lamb to the slaughter. Even if those terrible things were still lingering in your mind, you tried to set them aside and approach the day as if none of it were true. It wasn’t that you didn’t believe Burgerpants’ words, but you knew that starting the job with a frown wouldn’t make things any better. Right?

You took a deep breath as you stepped off the elevator, the soft hum of the lights above you making the silence feel heavier. The floor was immaculate—gleaming, pristine, almost too perfect to be real. The walls were adorned with movie posters that almost seemed to glow under the soft lighting. If there was one thing Mettaton’s empire had going for it, it was its undeniable glamour.

A small knot of anxiety tightened in your stomach as you walked trough the long hallway, trying to ignore the feeling of a gaze that followed your every step. As you moved down the hall, the sharp scent of expensive cologne filled the air, making you feel even more out of place. The door at the end of the hall was polished to a mirror finish. You knocked twice before opening it, your heart pounding in your chest.

The room inside was exactly what you’d expected—a lavish, out of the Underwold, with a view that stretched out over the entire city. Mettaton himself was sitting behind a large, glittering desk, his humanoid form radiating an almost otherworldly glow. His smile was as dazzling as ever, just like in TV! Though something about it felt a little too rehearsed. Just like in TV...

“Ah, there you are!” he exclaimed in his usual, theatrical voice. “I’ve been eagerly anticipating your arrival. Welcome to the future of luxury, glamour and... whatever!”

You hesitated for a moment, unsure of how to respond. “Thank you, Mr. Mettaton Ex,” you replied, trying to maintain a confident posture while offering a wide smile.

His eyes gleamed as he rose from his desk, moving towards you with graceful steps. “Please,” he said, his tone warm yet oddly calculating. “Call me Mettaton.”

Despite the charm, a chill ran down your spine as he circled you, his gaze lingering a little too long. “I trust you’re ready for what’s ahead. The Underworld is waiting for us to revolutionize it. And you, my dear, will play a crucial role in making that happen.”

You nodded, a bit surprised to hear that you already had the job. Though still uncertain, you were determined to maintain the facade of confidence. “Of course, Mettaton. I’m ready.”

He smiled again, this time with a sly grin. “Good. You’ll need to be. This isn’t a job for the faint-hearted.” His voice dropped to a husky whisper. “But I have a feeling you’re not faint-hearted, are you?”

You shook your head, as if to say no, wondering just how much of the rumors were true. More importantly, whether you were ready for whatever came next.

Mettaton’s smile widened as he took a step closer, clearly pleased with your response. His movements were fluid and graceful, like a well-practiced performance. As he gestured toward the pink leather chair opposite his desk, you couldn’t help but feel as though you were on stage.

“Take a seat, darling,” he said, his voice dripping with that familiar, honeyed charm. “We have so much to discuss.”

You lowered yourself into the chair, the fabric sinking beneath you as you tried to control your steady breathing. There was a strange tension in the air, like something was just beyond your reach, waiting to spring into action. Mettaton lowered himself into his chair, his eyes gleaming with an intensity that made your skin prickle.

“Now, let's get down to business,” he said, leaning forward, his hands folding neatly in front of him. “The Underworld, as you know, is at a crossroads. The old way of doing things has worn thin. It’s time for a new era, one of luxury and never ending entertainment.” Rising from his chair, he moved behind yours. His hands rested firmly on your shoulders, giving them a tight, deliberate massage. “And you, my dear. You are perfect for this role!”

His words, while promising, carried a hint of something darker beneath the surface. You shifted in your seat, trying to keep your composure as he walked around you, scanning your every move.

“I see,” you said, forcing your voice to remain steady. “But… what exactly would I be doing?”

Mettaton’s smile only widened. “Oh, darling, there's no need to worry about that right now,” he purred taking a seat on his desk. “We'll speak about it tomorrow. Congratulations. The job is yours.”

The weight of his words settled over you like a heavy cloak. Even if you were happy that you got the job you applied for, something darker hid behind those words.

“Thank you for the opportunity, Mr.—I mean, Mettaton.” You rose from your seat and extended your hand, ready for a handshake.

“Pleasure is mine, darling.” His eyes flickered with something unreadable as he shook your hand, the dim light reflecting off his metallic form while his free hand’s fingers tapped rhythmically on the surface of his desk. "And don’t worry,” he continued, his voice softening. “I’ll be keeping a very close eye on you. After all, I want you to succeed.”

You didn’t know whether that should make you feel better or worse.

“I… I won’t disappoint you,” you said, a knot tightening in your throat as you awkwardly pulled your hand back. There was no turning back now. You were committed, whether you liked it or not.

Mettaton’s eyes sparkled, but there was an edge to his smile now, one that wasn’t nearly as inviting. “That’s the spirit. But remember, this is more than a job. It’s a position of trust. The Underworld is counting on us, darling, and there’s no room for failure.”

You nodded, but something about the way he said it, the weight behind those words, felt like a warning more than an encouragement. As you sat there, his presence enveloping the room, you couldn’t help but wonder just how much you were about to sacrifice to play your part in this glamorous, yet undeniably dangerous, job.

“You can leave now, darling,” he said, his smile almost condescending, as if he were doing you a favor. “I’ll see you tomorrow morning.”

“Do I need to bring anything in particular?” you asked, walking toward the elevator with him close behind.

“Just that lovely smile of yours.” He lifted a hand to cup your cheeks, the pressure making your face feel uncomfortably squished. You weren’t sure how to react to his unexpected displays of closeness. Maybe that was just how he was. Outgoing and touchy.

“Have a nice day,” you said, stepping into the elevator, keeping your manners sharp.

“You too, darling!” he said, clasping his hands together, his enthusiasm for tomorrow already clear.

You pressed the button, waiting for the doors to close, deliberately avoiding his gaze. You already had enough of his attention for one day. Once they closed, you let out a quiet sigh of relief and leaned against the metallic wall. You tried to steady your breathing, but your mind kept drifting back to his words, his touch, the way he seemed to see right through you. There was no turning back now.

“Hey!” Burgerpants called out, catching your attention as you stepped into the cool evening air. “Already leaving?”

"Yeah,” you replied, watching closely as the boy took another drag from his cigarette. “He told me I could go home.”

“That’s weird,” he said, flicking the cigarette to the ground and crushing it under his boot. “I haven’t had a day off since I was a teenager with pimples.”

“I’m starting tomorrow,” you hummed, trying to steer the conversation away from your unsettling day. "I just did the interview, so I don’t know."

“Well, congratulations on the job anyway.” He flashed you a forced smile before turning and heading back towards the building.

“Thanks,” you murmured, still lost in your thoughts.

The events of the day felt almost surreal, and you couldn’t quite wrap your head around what had just happened. How was tomorrow going to be like? More of Mettaton’s cryptic charm? More uncomfortable moments? Or would it be something entirely different? Something you couldn’t predict, no matter how hard you tried. The rest of the night passed in a blur, your mind racing with questions and half-formed thoughts. When you finally lay in your bed, sleep came quickly, as though your body instinctively knew it needed to rest for what might come tomorrow.

hello for the WIP ask game I really am interested in the 1st WIP listed. Could I see a snippet of it?

Hello there! Thank you so much for asking this (you're allowing me to rant about stobotnik and brainstorm this fanfic idea all at once..). This is still a massive WIP though, so I can't really offer you a proper snippet; but I can offer you the summary and the train of thoughts I had while coming up for this! This does contain Sonic 3 spoilers.

For years now, it had always been Doctor Robotnik and Agent Stone. Often, where Robotnik went, Stone followed. Then Doctor Robotnik’s grandfather, Gerald shows up. Agent Stone finds himself pushed into the background, even the Doctor doesn’t seem to want his Austrian steamed goat milk latte, anymore. A stir of feelings (definitely not jealously) sets off within the ever-loyal agent. Alas, Doctor Robotnik has never been an idiot, and his sudden infatuation with family isn’t unprovoked. Rather – it’s a survival instinct, if anyone knows how dangerous the Robotnik’s can be, it’s Ivo Robotnik himself.

As you can tell, by the well chosen name for this WIP, it takes place during (and perhaps after Sonic 3). When I first watched Sonic in 2020, it was purely because me and mother had time to kill...and now look, five years later I'm writing stobotnik fanfic, hope she's proud! But anyways; this fanfic will be my take on Sonic 3, and purely how Ivo sees family. In 1 (and perhaps 2, I haven't seen that in a while though), he seems pretty adamant he doesn't need family. He's very much anti-human, and the only affection he has ever shown is to his robots. Even Stone, who must of worked with the doctor for years now, doesn't get any display of gratitude from him until he's quite literally about to die. So...after seeing Sonic for the third time, it got me thinking. As much as it is obvious they're related, why did Ivo accept him so easily? And boom, this fanfic idea was born. Who knows a Robotnik better than anyone else? A Robotnik! Ivo knows from the beginning there is something up with his grandfather, and he is determined to find out what. He also knows that Robotnik's are dangerous, and frankly have little care for the people around them; thus he keeps Stone out of it. Stone, not knowing his master plan, assumes the worst: that he has been replaced. To sum up for what I have planned for the fic...Robotnik having family issues (you're no Maria has got to hurt), miscommunication by not talking to each other, and a jealous Stone (who is soon to realise he doesn't quite like Robotnik's attention not on him).

Oh, and General Walters and Robotnik's complicated relationship will be explored in this one. General Walters certainly has a lot of guilt for what happened to Maria, only with Ivo, well, you'll see he didn't show it the best.

More Random Thoughts

For a long time I wondered why Susan and Charles were put on the hitlist since they weren't related to the Waltens, but I think I have an idea. I'll link the post I'll refer to here below, but it explains that Felix's alibi IS fairly solid, but Charles and Susan still express skepticism over it.

So my running theory is that Felix somehow caught wind of that and added them onto his hitlist so that only people who believe him will be left so he can continue his ambitions

2. Something I also wondered about is that in the third part of The Relocate Project with Ashley and gang, they mention that the company wants to salvage the animatronics and put the new features on them, but they're too broken to do so. I wasn't sure why Felix was going through all this effort to salvage the very much haunted robots, but I once more have an idea.

So we know that Susan built the robots, but it's mentioned in TWF 4 that Felix doesn't understand all this technology, and for the time they were very state of the art. So my theory is that there's nobody who knows how to make animatronics like Susan could, he's trying desperately to reuse the old animatronics, not understanding just how damaged they are and giving Ashley and the gang too little them to fix them

8 Characters who should appear in Young Justice Season 5

Hoping and praying for another season of Young Justice is something I'm very used to.

After its initial cancelation way back in 2013, Young Justice was revived for a third season on DC Universe, DC's attempt at a streaming service, and lived past that to get a fourth season on HBO Max.

It is now under hiatus with no current plans at a fifth season.

I however will continue to remain hopeful for another season. Young Justice (with the exception of the Harley Quinn animated universe) is my favorite version of the DC Universe. With an exceptional voice cast, a focus on younger more relatable heroes, and a realistic political element to a superhero world, Young Justice cements itself not only as one of the best DC animated shows, but one of the best pieces of superhero media.

So while I have nothing but time until Warner Bros sees the gem that they have and give us a fifth season, I thought I'd pitch the characters I'd most like to see in the next season.

Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti, if you're reading this, know if you don't put these in, I trust the season will be great anyway.

The Bad Boys of the Bat Family

Let's start with the obvious!

Jason Todd AKA The Red Hood has been teased ever since Season 2, and while has made a few appearances, we have yet to see the menace he can be to both Bruce and The Bat Family.

I particularly want his story to tie in with Tim, who has only been seen to be the loyal soldier to Bruce. This can be an opportunity to reflect upon the life, and how Bruce's trauma trickles down.

Another Bat pairing I'm itching to see is Damian Wayne and Nightwing. The blood son and the favorite son can lead to some fun comedic beats and a lot of tension for the team.

Whatever team they decide to position Damian on, it could lead to disaster. Damians presence can also lead to less trust amongst superheroes, as he is a known killer, and Robin is a pretty public title in the Young Justice universe.

The Forgotten Sidekick

Sometimes even sidekicks need sidekicks!

For those not in the know, Gear was an original character for the DCAU show Static Shock, Virgil's best friend Richie.

Using technology, including a robotic backpack and flying boots, he was simultaneously Virgil's guy in the chair and right hand man in the field.

Static has been on the show for multiple seasons, but really hasn't had much to do since season 2. Giving him a protege of his own while paying homage to what came before.

Speaking of what came before...

The Final Titans

Who doesn't want a Titans reunion?

In Season 3, Cyborg was introduced into the fold and Beast Boy was given a much more expanded role. Ever since, I've been waiting for the Daughter of Trigon and the Tamaranean Princess to arrive.

An episode where the 5 Titans meet for an impromptu mission would be a lot of fun, perhaps battling one of their classic villains like Brother Blood or Deathstoke!

In the long run, both characters fit very well into the already established universe.

Raven would make an interesting member of Zatanna's Sentinels of Magic, and Starfire would be right at home with Forager and Miss Martian as aliens on Earth.

Would it be fan wish fulfillment? Absolutely, but Young Justice has done it before. In Season 4, Razer of Green Lantern Animated Series was given one of the best episodes, continuing his arc to find Aya.

I'm not sure how you could get all these characters and one of the Robins together for a mission, but I'll leaving the writing up to the experts.

The Incompetent Time Traveler

We've had the Legion, we've had Bart, but we have yet to have a time traveler who has no idea what he's doing.

Enter: Booster Gold.

Booster Gold is a fan favorite character across comics and animated media. He is a failed football athlete in the 25th Century, who steals tech in the future to pretend to be a hero in our time.

The character is soon to enter James Gunn's DCU, and recently made his Arrowverse debut in Legends of Tomorrow, played by Donald Faison, right before the show got cancelled (I bring this up mainly because he deserved a shot at voicing him and it could be a fun nod).

Boosters interference with the timeline could lead him to the worlds only time traveling expert, Bart Allen, effectively making him the Outsiders responsibility.

The character also leaves the door open to potentially a big bad, and maybe even thee big bad of the season....

The Professor

Much like General Zod and the Kryptonians became an overarching threat for Season 4, making it a Superboy/Superman focused season, I think it's high time the Speedsters of the team have a new threat.

Professor Zoom or the Reverse Flash is Barry Allen's greatest enemy. Another future man of the 25th Century, Eobard Thawne was a brilliant scientist, so opposed with The Flash, he decided to become his greatest enemy to become part of the story.

Reverse Flash has quite a few similarities with Bart actually. Future speedster hoping to be a part of the story and change the timeline for "the better". It would be an interesting rivalry between them.

While I would like him as the big bad of the season, I understand we JUST did a time traveling menace

My potential pitch would be Reverse Flash needs access to our time now for a power source, something to bring his power to the next level. Something or someone with Speed Force to spare, making him a battery for Eobard. So I believe Reverse Flash has returned to the past to get...

The Prodigal Son

Did I write this piece just to pitch a Wally West return season?

Yes. Yes I did.

Young Justice has left just enough wiggle room for Wally to return. We never hear about his soul, we never found a body, and Wally has been trapped in the Speed Force in the comics before.

Most notably, The Speed Force has not been mentioned yet. Currently, I don't believe any speedsters actually know it exists.

Eobard showing them the speed force and releasing Wally to drain his power, only to be foiled by the team, would not only bring back Wally, it could make him the Fastest Man Alive.

Wally becoming the Flash could be his arc of the season, which I argue would’ve been his destiny if Bart didn’t save Barry’s life.

Giving us a Wally with a power boost, lost time and lost love could lead to a lot of drama and potential for storytelling.

And of course, an Artemis/Wally reunion is well in order.

Again, if none of these characters make an appearance in the next season, I’d still just be happy there’s a season at all.

But time will tell if I’m right.
