SD in general means Super Deformed, it's a chibi style that's not unique to Kamen Rider (Gundam also has a bunch of SD stuff, mentioning it here bc i love those models :3)

But since you're asking in relation with my art, here's the ones I made art for:

SD The Great Battle

A series of videogames that's a crossover between Kamen Rider, Gundam and Ultraman characters, all in the SD style. An original character called Fighter Roar joins the team from the second game on. They're very fun and wacky game that don't really have a coherent plot but we love them for that :3 In IV they get a giant robot (Compatible Kaiser my beloved) and in V they're cowboys. I love the cowboy outfits so much. Games one to five have english fan translations, now I need someone to translate Gaia Saver because apparently that one has the Rider Killer lore....

Kamen Rider SD: Strange!? Man Spider (or simply Kamen Rider SD OVA)

If you've been around the fandom you probably already know this one. It's a 30 minutes short where RX and the other Battle Riders (Ichigo and ZX) have to rescue RX's crush from shocker, with the help of the Mechanic Riders (V3, X and Super1). Wild Team (Stronger, Amazon and Nigo) appears for like. 3 minutes total at the end but they're my darlings and I love them. Other very important thing in this short is the Rider Carrier, a giant robot grasshopper that acts as their base and I think every version of the riders shoul have a giant grasshopper base not just the SDs u.u This short is apparently an adaptation from the Mighty Riders manga, but I haven't investigated it yet so I can't confirm that. It's also connected to a couple more SD videogames, Sortie!! Rider Machines and Run! Mighty Riders (the team names come from here as far as I can tell)

Kamen Rider SD: Hurricane Legend / Kamen Rider SD: Legend of the Stormy Age

(listen. I know the direct translation is the first one. But the second one is on the back cover so if they gave it an official english title I'm using that :P)

This is probably the one you're asking for, but I wanted to use the excuse to talk about the other two :P

I'll be honest, going in blind on this one is probably the best experience. Do not look up panels you will get spoiled. The basic plot is V3 and Riderman travel around to recruit the other Riders to defeat Shocker. I want to talk about it more but again, I had so much fun going "WHAT!?!" while reading it that I must resist- Might post more about them but will tag it as spoilers

Other SD stuff that I care less about, for completionist sake:

• there's a third SD manga (Kamen Rider SD: Roaring Laughs School) that I know nothing of (I think it's a 4koma gag manga? I'll be honest I'm not very interested in it so I haven't done much research);

• the most recent SD game is SD Shin Kamen Rider Rumble, a game for the movie, but that one seems to be simply a side scroller so again, no interest from me;

• Lost Heroes 1 and 2 technically use chibi-ish versions of Riders, Gundams and Ultramen, and are part of the Compati Hero series (the same series as The Great Battle), but they don't have SD in the title;

•there's. sooooo many sports games in the Compati Hero series. I like the Battle Dodgeball ones :3 Also speaking of Compati Hero, special mention to Super Hero Operations because that's the next one I wanna play, I get to meet Zubat, Metalder and a bunch of others there :3

Neuvillette recommends facing them only when you're ready, bit by bit, so you don't get overwhelmed- healing is a slow process, after all, both physically and mentally. vaguely you remember that Foul Legacy does have a human form, back when Teyvat was just a bundle of pixels on a screen, but you don't pay much thought to it, not when you have a wonderful Abyssal friend already here with you. it's only when his latest trip to the outside world goes several days over that you begin to worry, nervously skipping and pacing back and forth in front of your little shell cottage as you wait

you pause, calming just enough to carefully examine him, the coppery hair and blue eyes and many, many freckles oh- oh! Ajax! Foul Legacy's human self! your antennae perk up as you run to him, tail waving as you curiously examine him from all angles, his gray Fatui uniform faintly familiar. Ajax grins as you shake his hand the same way you did for Foul Legacy, calling all your siblings over to meet him. soon he's completely surrounded by a crowd of curious Melusine, chatter filling the village. you have another friend- or is he the same friend, only different? he has a Vision, like their sister Sigewinne! is he going to stay? Ajax laughs, patting your head like Foul Legacy does and apologizing for being gone so long, the exhaustion of his previous mission sapping away the energy he needs to transform into Legacy. but you don't mind, he's still your friend! and you can hold hands with him much easier now, if you're both on your feet!

well, i thought long and hard about this and i reached the following conclusions: no, they wouldn't necessarily transform into a werewolf because... first of all, i presume you're talking about the werewolves in the harry potter universe? if so, we already have a lot to work with here

werewolves are dark creatures who, while human, were infected with lycanthropy—referred to as werewolfry by some intellectuals—through a bite, right? they were bitten by another werewolf in their wolf form during the full moon. but where do werewolves come from anyway? it's not a blood malediction, but it's a cursed condition and existence. some people speculate that lycanthropy is a curse that got placed on some poor fool and eventually spread out across the globe. so it's not a biological thing, yes? werewolves didn't evolve from another species. there's no dinosaur-to-chicken pipeline. it's a magical phenomenon, therefore it has magical explanations

so why the full moon then, you may wonder. well, as we know, the moon goes through eight phases with a full cycle lasting approximately 29.5 earth days

if we're going by the theory that werewolfry is a curse that uses the moon as a reference, then it's also fair to suggest that, actually, the moon doesn’t have anything to do with it at all. or better, it does, but only in the sense that the full moon is used as a reference to the curse being reset. does that make sense? if one has to be infected with lycanthropy by a werewolf on the full moon, then in 29.5 days' time, they'll be a werewolf themselves

also, it's not the sight of the moon that makes the transformation occur. because what would that even mean? if a werewolf didn't look at the moon nothing would happen? no, that's too fucking easy. there's a time limit attached to the curse and it follows the phases of the moon. that's why they wouldn't transform on any random night and why they wouldn't transform if sent to outer space

i guess the answer is d) then?

a) is too ridiculous to consider, too specific, and doesn't explain why the transformation doesn't just happen every other night. b) also doesn't make sense unless the moon is some special entity controlling a magical condition from light-years away from earth. c) is unlikely, but it's plausible enough. i mean, i guess the curse could be attached to earth's ground, but i don't think so? it requires further testing. e) is just too much incompetency. if you're going to send a fucking werewolf to the moon, i should hope you at least know what you're doing

How would/does your character feel about being picked up?

Aside from feeling a bit disconcerted, Efnisien likes when Arden carries him / moves him / makes it clear that he has no issues doing this.

If it was someone he didn't know, he'd hate it.

Who is the most likely person to irritate your character?

All the people who irritated him in the story tbh! Like, Dr Gary, Bridge, Nate, Kadek, Lludd, Gwyn, Augus and even Arden at times! Efnisien spends a lot of his time in that story being annoyed at people or trying to suppress how annoyed he is at people. And Dr Gary actually spends a lot of the story trying to get Efnisien annoyed at the right people.

The word "annoyed" comes up in Falling Falling Stars 91 times and almost all of them are describing how Efnisien feels about someone else. The word "annoying" comes up around 69 times in the story (nice) and over 60% are how Efnisien feels about others (that they're being annoying/annoying him). The word "pissed" (as in "pissed off" or angry) comes up 29 times, and granted okay a few of those times refer to urine but the rest mostly refer to Efnisien being mad at people and/or worrying people are mad at him. The word "angry" is in the story 249 times and quite a few of them are just directed at Dr Gary, Arden, Nate, and Kadek! I actually think Efnisien in Falling Falling Stars is probably one of my most like, angry/irritated/frustrated characters. (The word frustrated etc. comes up a lot too).

Just because he feels guilty or ashamed of it, doesn't mean it's not happening! In fact, a lot of the time you can see his suppressed irritation in action where he feels annoyed at someone, and then redirects that anger at himself, which results in guilt/shame - it's literally part of the same coin. And sometimes he doesn't feel guilty or ashamed at all, there's a ton of this, especially towards Dr Gary, Nate, Kadek and Augus. It happens often enough that he's reliably feeling this towards one or more people any chapter that has one or more people in it.

I'd say the people Efnisien gets most annoyed at is Dr Gary, Nate and then Kadek. Especially as he rarely feels guilty about it with these characters in any way.

He's so reliably and consistently annoyed at everything and everyone that it was the first trait I gave him in his Underline the Black manifestation aslkfdjsa

Does your character ever wear revealing clothing?

Only if Arden wants him to in a scene, otherwise no. And it's also broadly not something he'd ever choose for himself, given his scars, and how he feels about revealing his body (which is also that, it should only belong the people he trusts, and that it absolutely doesn't belong to anyone else).

Efnisien doesn't like feminisation broadly (re: the lingerie mention), he only likes it in scenes with Arden and more accurately, it's more like he tolerates it because he knows Arden likes it so much, and because it's very challenging to do. (It's a hard limit with Kadek, even, in Second Star to the Right - so after all this time he still doesn't trust Kadek with it). This comes up pretty seriously in the relationship where, when Efnisien ends up wearing nail-polish outside of a scene due to bad aftercare on Arden's behalf, he crashes, becomes angry at Arden, and nearly ends the relationship because of it. Later they talk about it, and we see Arden understanding why Efnisien hated the nail polish outside of the scene:

‘No,’ Arden said. ‘There are things people really want in the framework of a scene, that they don’t want at any other time in their lives. There are folks who like feminisation all the time, and then there are ones who only want it in scenes, because the scene is – in an ideal world – a safe space. The world is not a safe space. And you’re right, nail polish feels weird if you’re not used to wearing it. As a beauty product traditionally associated with women, it’s kind of loaded if you wear it in public. I picked a classically feminine colour for you.’ ‘I don’t know if I want to do nail polish again for a while,’ Efnisien said.

This single incident is like - Arden correctly identifying why Efnisien can't handle it outside of the privacy of a scene (after they've talked about it), and it still has a pretty profound consequence! It becomes a hard limit (at least temporarily).

This is not someone who would ever wear lingerie under his clothing while they went out and about because Arden wanted him to. Even wearing ropes under his clothing later in the story made him largely just annoyed to the point that he's actively trying not to think about them. Later, during the debrief, he makes it clear that he only really likes them if Arden is there (but even so, he still found them annoying).

Who is your character proud of?

Arden - Just for generally being awesome and overcoming so much in his life, and always often working to better himself or his life.

Kadek - For continuing to learn how to try and have the weird not-relationship he has with Arden and Efnisien.

Himself - Mostly when he's survived a really hard scene, it's a tenuous feeling for him to hold onto towards himself.

And also probably a bunch of other people! Han Yuen, Leo, Frankie, Sasha, etc. Efnisien's met a lot of people, and has a lot of reasons to be proud of them over time :D

to answer this fully i would most likely want to rewatch every episode that she is in so i could give better formulated thoughts and character analysis because i have a SHIT memory but i will explain as best i can because i do not have time for that LOL this post is really long btw :)

i think she is a fascinating character first of all. the sammary parallels :,) wants to leave hunting, but forced back into it because of her family. wants normalcy, but forced to commit horribly violating and incestuous acts in order to save the man she loves. of course it's awful that she makes the decision knowing how it will affect her children (i think??? don't remember the details but i think i saw this somewhere?) but she was so young and afraid and the man she loved was dying in front of her. i think a lot of people hate her for that (and many other reasons) but this is a show and fandom where other characters aren't hated for making bad or harmful decisions that hurt their family (aka mostly dean :)) and obviously i love sam. he's not perfect, i can't expect mary to be perfect either!!

and then when she's brought back to life, her worst nightmares come true basically!! she was living in her personal heaven where she should have stayed. it was not a mercy to her to bring her back. she has missed her sons entire lives, and now they are stuck exactly where she would have done anything to keep them from. the last thing she wanted was for her sons to be in the hunting life. they are also wildly codependent, have horrible coping skills, are angry and sad and broken. dean is controlling and abusive to sam. i cannot even begin to imagine how completely and utterly disorienting and hurtful and difficult this would be for her. not to mention, she's in a whole different era that adds another hugely confusing element to this.

i think a lot of people dislike her for leaving, for joining the british men of letters, and for not being the perfect mother figure for dean. that "i'm not just your mother," and "i was never a kid," scene gets to people and i find it misogynistic to get angry at her for that. because she's right. i wish female characters would stop being reduced to just being a mother and that being their only job and merit and that they are the worst ever for not being a perfect mom. she is her own person.

it's true that dean is right too!! he was never a child, but it is not mary's fault, nor her responsibility to fix that or somehow make up for it. she did not ask to be brought back to life and her only role in life is not just dean's mom. yes, it is part of her role and identity, and at some point, she becomes more comfortable being a mother figure for him in a way that he would've liked at that time. but this was not that long after she was brought back. at that time she must've been incredibly conflicted and upset and confused and battling so hard to reconcile what her children are now versus what she wanted for them and how she was living in heaven.

not the boys fault that they turned out this way, and i'm not saying they're doing something wrong for not ending up where she would've liked for them!! i think all parents have to face their children not ending up or being exactly what they wanted, but i think that it's still valid for mary to be upset about it because where they ended up was such a dangerous and harmful life for them both. to me it didn't seem like she was mad at them or upset they didn't end up perfect or whatever, just that she knows they probably had suffered a lot by being in the hunting life.

so to me, it made perfect sense that mary needed space from sam and dean. of course she did. what she came back to life to was horrible and must've been such a mess and horror to reconcile with. and it made perfect sense that she joined the british men of letters! she (and sam) could not have known that they were going to start killing off american hunters. they had every reason to believe that pulling off the mission they were presented with was 100% a good thing. mary saw an opportunity to rid her children's lives of monsters and the accompanying horrors and hardships of being hunters.

and again with the demon deal she made with azazel, i don't think she could've fully known the weight of it. she was manipulated into making that deal! and i think the angels and demons and god and all that would have still found a way to have made sam and dean's lives hell and all that.

and eventually, mary becomes closer to sam and dean. she does what she can to protect them and be there for them. she is not perfect and shouldn't have to be. sam and dean literally suck lmao, why can't she without being so hated???

she is a badass and considering her circumstances, did a pretty damn good job helping people and figuring things out for herself when she was forced into such a foreign world. she's witty and funny and kind and crass and loyal and caring and snarky and so so strong. she survived being trapped in the apocalypse world with lucifer, she saved herself and jack and refused to abandon the people of that world. she took charge when needed, she showed compassion and strength and independence and individuality and took risks and chances. she is so fucking hot and sexy and every woman ever should be allowed to suck sometimes and not be a perfect mom and a killer and fighter and individual person <333

i really admire her and i'm sure i'm overlooking other flaws or reasons not to like her, but there's lots of reasons not to like pretty much every character in this show. and i tend to think lots of people dislike her for stupid reasons LOL (not saying that's you my sweets!! just something i've noticed!) i think she deserves more grace and love and forgiveness but of course these are all my opinions and takes on her character!! i really appreciate that she was soft with sam and told him he didn't have to bear the weight of everything all the time. she saw how tired he was :,)

i think overall i find her to be a really interesting character, a strong character, a character to who goes against the status quo of the show, and also, yeah!!! i'm super gay and think she's super hot and sexy muah <333 i love her a lot, kisses to mary. she deserved better and probably not to be brought back to life LOLLL she did not get to rest in peace :D the whole circumstances of her being brought back to life actually makes me really upset because she was brought back as like. a literal favor for dean.... wdym... the implications.... welcome to the family is hell show!!

interesting... i do feel as if a lot of online opinions especially in fandoms have become more homogenized once the 2020s hit. i cant speak on anything within the rote fanbase specifically because i had only just started reading, and since im just more than halfway through the original farseer trilogy (im now 400+ pages into royal assassin... and i have thoughts.) i havent actually been in the tags properly. i would assume maybe verity does something that is unforgivable in the eyes of certain people if he is loudly disliked, but again its hard to gauge and i also dont plan on letting others' opinions effect me – its purely curiosity.

i have seen a lot of eyebrow raising / spoiler adjacent art (mostly through pinterest for some reason?? likely because my algorithm on there is jesters, clownery and medieval content) but when it comes to verity himself, i can only guess the direction his character will go in. i find him sooooo compelling though. his motives and the position hes been forced into, his Dependence on certain things that shall only be alluded to here... his life is kind of a mess like wow. with every layer we peel back im like Holy shit... okay now lets keep going!!! so i anticipate he will only get ""worse"" (as if he isnt already actively getting worse LOL), but to me this often translates to ""better""... sometimes i live for tragedy and drama and i currently feel right at home
