I think @halfbaked00q is absolutely correct that Bond sometimes decides that a certain activity he can 100% perform by himself is now a Group Activity. And I think it's funny if this manifests in the form of him INSISTING on having Q on the comms with him as often as possible.

Heretofore, 007 has been notorious for flinging his earpieces out windows and dropping them into champagne glasses. He was affronted by the suggestion that he couldn't figure out how to successfully complete the mission without handholding! And he THOROUGHLY scorns the entire concept of 'orders from above'! He doesn't need anyone in his ear during the mission, ta muchly!!

But once Q appears in Bond's life, I think it's funny if Bond shifts from 'I don't want anyone in my ear when I'm working 😠' to 'I have decided that Q needs to be in my ear At All Times when I'm on a mission 😇'.

Not even because Bond needs help or guidance or a second pair of eyes! Just because he's decided the job is an activity he and Q do TOGETHER now.

And much like a cat will scream and fuss when you try to exclude them from something that is clearly a Group Activity, Bond makes an unholy racket if Q won't get on the comms with him when he WANTS Q there.

Modern AU where a few years after graduating, Eddie makes in big and decides to use his newly found fame to shoot his shot with his high school crush.

He looks directly into the camera on the biggest stage he’s ever been on, and asks Steve Harrington on a date…

And nothing comes from it.

There’s no sliding into his DMs. No social media post. No contacting his manager. No nothing. Not even a sorry, not interested.

The internet was abuzz for a week or so with this love story in the making before switching it up and calling Eddie cringe and embarrassing.

Meanwhile, Steve’s off-work for the summer and has gotten really into woodwork. He has no idea any of this is happening because he’s in his garage building a chair.

Lucifer looked overly pleased. He turned the present in his hand over for the fifth time with an incredibly smug, self-assured smirk on his face.

"This is for me, is it?" It was neither his birthday nor a holiday. He had been quite surprised when you burst into his office and laid the decorative bundle on his desk. It was taped poorly and the wrapping paper was a recycled brown paper bag, yet the simple fact that you were thinking about him made his pride swell to dangerous levels.

"Yes," you told him. "Please make good use of it. Please."

With an arrogant little "heh," he opened the gift. Inside was a long length of thick rope, freshly purchased from a hardware store that morning. It was sturdy and a little coarse. It looked like it was made for boating purposes.

"What is this?" Lucifer examined it by tugging at the ends until it was taut. He looked ready to whip the next person to walk into his office. "Is this your way of asking to spend more time with me? I always thought you were more of a silk ribbon perso-"

"No!" You interrupted his detailed speculation by slamming a hand on the corner of the desk. It stung a little. Of course Lucifer would misunderstand your intentions, but that was exactly why you had to clear things up. "I need you to stop tying Mammon up with the ethernet cord."

Lucifer raised an eyebrow. You didn't like the way he was gliding his gloved thumb over the rope.

"You leave him tied up for hours," you continued, "and the WiFi stops working. I have to go to the observatory when that happens and stand by the windows and wave my D.D.D. around for data to work. So, Lucifer. Please? Won't you use this instead?"

You put your hand on top of his in a bold power play. Maybe he would feel your sincerity. Combined with big puppy eyes and a little head tilt, you felt this plan had a 65% chance of working.

Now that I ended this chapter on a cliffhanger lol, DxP REWRITE is gonna take a 3-4 week break. While Chapters 1-2 pretty much wrote themselves, & I have a pretty good plan for Chapter 4 onward, I have some extra work & prep to do for Chapter 3. ;u;

However, I won’t be leaving you empty-handed - I have an intermission to take up the Sun / Wed slot in the meantime:
