Luffy: Sunflower! In my mind he's associated with them pretty heavily but I guess not actually lol? Thousand Sunny is more associated with them. But he did wear them that one time... Anyway I think he'd be a giant freaky fasciated sunflower where the seed head streeeetches like rubber and he's always turned to the sun (which may be a myth for actual sunflowers, which only makes it creepier that he does that)

Zoro: A real-life marimo for sure! Those things are so cute. I would have one as a pet but I think they're actually an invasive species here. Anyway aquatic plant life and moss in general is really interesting and looks so beautiful underwater, he would totally just be chilling down there

Nami: A lucky tangerine tree that brings you prosperity 🍊🧧

Usopp: I think a pitcher plant! Or a Venus fly-trap? Maybe a rafflesia... or caltrop, the one that drops the little arena hazards lol... There are too many options for Usopp! But I also think something humble but beautiful like a daisy. Or maybe a dandelion, considered a weed by some but whimsical and auspicious by others, and either way, will always bounce back!

Sanji: Sea grapes... maybe that's silly... I think he'd love it though... it's a little more poetic/beautiful than any other kind of seaweed and it's kind of foodie-adjacent. He could bloom in the All Blue... and mermaids could turn him into seagrape wine

Chopper: You might think a cherry blossom tree! But I actually think he'd be a willow. Willow bark contains a chemical with a similar effect to aspirin and was a very important medical tool/discovery, and I can imagine deer eating the young bark and leaves. He could also be a sarsparilla plant - which was originally also used as a medicine but is now enjoyed as a delicious sweet treat which Choppy would love!

Robin: It's tempting to say something like Belladonna or something else used as a poison because she's such a witchy assassin-coded woman... but I think she might be the cherry blossom tree. With a million gnarled but beautiful limbs

Franky: Kola nut tree 👍Or a giant Redwood

Brook: If we're including mushrooms within the purview of "plants" here then I think he'd be a dead man's fingers mushroom. Otherwise maybe a Night Queen... there's just something ghostly but beautiful about them. Or a peach tree for that sweet 🍑

Usopp: Usopp has "streamer" written all over him. I mean it's just that one colour spread isn't it. He probably manages Nami's OF as well and they do a bunch of joint streams. Sanji: Normal food content I think, slowly building a following with a boost from thirsty fans haha. He would be resourceful and respectful and charming, pick fights with those dudes who violate pizza dough, and also seem to know SOMETHING about that fucking green hair guy he's not telling us

a fandom always has that one agere person whether on tumblr or ao3. and im not complaining. for any of the littles in any of you aus? whats their favorite kinds of blankets or prints? cuz i js got a cute blanket today so this is on my mind.

I don’t know if I’m exactly that person, I’m sure there’s other posting gravity falls agere! But thank you very much in any case!

-For Ford, he lives for those classic little beaker and equations and chemistry designs, because he is a little scientist! He also loves space and celestial designs, with various constellations and planets, he loves pointing them out to Stan, or looking at the night sky to see which constellations he can see that are also on his blanket. He does have an interest in bugs, particularly moths and butterflies. He does have one blanket that Stan custom ordered to have cryptids and anomalies patterned throughout it

-Stan OF COURSE loves the nautical themes, anchors, boats, waves, and sea animals always gets him excited, feet kicking. I know he was a dinosaur kid, not the scientific kind but the “Dino’s are so cooooolllll!” type, and he still is, especially after seeing a real life dinosaur. Though, he only likes the nice ones in books and shows, and on his sweaters, not real life ones. He does have a very soft handmade quilt with teddy bear designs that he loves to snuggle in during his naps

-Fiddleford is fine with any pattern and design, he’s not that picky. But one time, Stan presented him with a blanket covered in barnyard/farm animals and Little Man went. Wild. He would tell Stan every fact on those animals he knows, barely breathing in between. After that, almost blanket, shirt, and sweater he got was themed with some sort of farm animal. The ones that weren’t barnyard themed had robots and mathematical equations on them

Hey, remember when I said I shipped Lawlulaw? Yeah, I finally have an idea for them!

As I was fleshing this out, I suddenly felt the need to shove in Acelaw and Sabolaw in there so uh that's fun. I wanted this to be Lulaw centered but the moments of Ace and Sabo can be very easily spun into a romantic direction if I wanted and I wanted to be open to having a Law harem!

Welp, anyways, onto the plot I cooked. Edit: I elaborated more on this au here (x)!

I'm thinking of Law as a scientist who studies marine life. He has a huge lab where he collects specimens and spends a lot of time sketching out the intricate details and labelling them. He loves drawing these because it helps him get a clear, objective view of the world. His ultimate goal is to know just what makes the world tick.

He wants to know the inner workings of everything, kind of to compensate for how he barely knows himself and the depths of his subconscious nature. He believes everything has a place. A creature's ever part, every organ, every component is like a gear that keeps the whole system running and Law loves analysing them.

It may or may not be surprising but he actually believes in things like monsters, aliens and cryptids. From his experience, there's so many interesting sea creatures within the realm of science. It seemed a bit rude to dismiss the possibility. You never fucking know.

So that means when he sees a merman washed up one day in front of the beach near his home. He shrugs and says, "Well, he looks better than a drunk Bepo."

From indifference turned curiosity, Law squats down and starts poking this merman with a bit too much force and said merman jolts awake. Law notices how sharp his teeth and claws were. Law knew he would die if he did not approach him correctly.

"H-hello. I'm Law. Are you okay?"

The merman was visibly confused. Law realised he seemed a bit dehydrated and realised his gills on his neck looked uncomfortable. Law understood. He pointed to the ocean behind the merman.

"I'll take you back," Law said. He did not know how to approach the situation beyond rolling up his sleeves just in case the merman had an allergic reaction to his shirt and very gently trying to carry the creature princess-style.

Law was horrified to feel that this creature was heavy and struggled with carrying him. So much for wanting to be brave. The merman did not do anything to make things difficult—Law just was not the strongest out there. He just stared at Law with literal stars in his eyes. He made a cheerful little sound that was admittedly quite cute.

Law let the merman go when he was just around waist-deep in the ocean. He gently poured some water over his gills, which elicited even more happy sounds. When Law let go, the merman suddenly looked sad and Law felt like a horrible human being.

"Good bye. Take care"

The merman was swimming rather freely in the ocean now and he circled around Law. Law felt anxious. Did he walk into a trap? Was the merman going to attack? The merman did not seem hostile but you never know what these creatures were thinking especially when they were alive.

When the merman stopped swimming, Law took a good look at his features. He was quite cute in the face with large round eyes and an equally large mouth that occasionally broke into a large smile. If he were human, Law would've fallen in love.

"Good bye, it was nice meeting you-"

The next thing Law knew, he was immediately submerged underwater. He could barely breathe and felt himself choke. Meanwhile the merman was giggling like this was all very amusing. Law was knew he would die, if not for something rapidly swimming up and forcibly dragging the merman away.

Of course it was another muscular merman. He looked older than Law's murderer and had dark red accents on his hands and neck. There were spots on his face that looked like freckles. Now this one looked predatory. In human terms, he looked like he was nagging the other merman. Irritated, Law stood up as best he could and punched them both on the head.

Law's murderer seemed annoyed and sad at the violence, while the other one looked mildly impressed. He whistled through his gills. At least Law knew what that meant—it was a fucking mating call.

"Shut the fuck up! You're both annoying me! Go away!"

The black-haired mermen tilted their head to the side at the same time. In the distance, a pale, almost albino merman swam closer. Unlike the other two, he seemed friendlier even with a heavily disfigured face. He laughed as he happily said, "I'm sorry for my brothers, bastard!"

Law was flabbergasted. This was not his day.

"You can talk?"

The blonde merman seemed more surprised than Law. Law would punch him too but he was much faster than the other two in grabbing them by the shoulders and swimming some distance away so they would have to shout at each other. Law's murderer seemed sad that they were separated.

"You can talk, human?" The merman replied. He laughed. "Bitch!" He seemed to say those vulgarities with great childlike amusement. Though, Law would not be surprised to hear that he knew what those words meant and meant them sincerely. He seemed cunning.

Law felt wet, disgusting and thoroughly upset that he did not die. "Why, yes I fucking can! Piss off!"

As Law made his way back to the base, he suddenly heard the blonde merman tell the pervert and his murderer something. They went silent when Law looked back. Three seconds later, they started making loud, hysterical noises.

For God's sake, Law walked away with a ruined morning, wet clothes and the horrible memory of nearly dying. That was annoying, as he walked up the ocean where he was comfortably knee-length. He felt something gently grab his foot.

"What do you want, murderer?"

The merman pouted slightly and fuck isn't that just the cutest thing? He tried to pull Law back but gently this time. Law realised this was kind of like a child trying to make friends. He sighed and squatted down again to meet this creature at eye-level.

"I won't go with you but I'll come back tomorrow morning. Don't pull that shit again, or I'll kill all three of you. Understood?"

That seemed to be what the merman wanted for he smiled brightly and made those happy clicking noises again. He hugged Law's shoulders, licked his cheek quickly, jumped off and swam off with his brothers who seemed more interested in this little guy more than anyone else.

The sight was sweet. Maybe tomorrow morning would be better...

(Also, Law read up on Merfolk. Apparently, they were acknowledged to be legitimate sea creatures only three years ago and there were proper laws to forbid the act of hunting and killing them. Law found it strange that policies viewed them more like an endangered species than human beings.)

(More importantly, Law found out that there were some highly intelligent merfolk could learn human languages. And even more importantly, merfolk use their saliva to mark their territory... Including their mates, whom they usually commit to for life... Huh.)

Modern AU Silm fic idea

So you know how if something is frozen, it's kinda preserved? And you know the elves who died in the Helcaraxë were... well... frozen?

So imagine, if you will, in modern times of Middle Earth, when the dwarves are no longer prevalent (maybe they live in the Middle Earth equivalent of El Dorado?) and the hobbits have gone elsewhere to do who knows what (they become forest cryptids in the Ered Luin AKA, the Middle Earth Appalachia), and humans have created modern technology.

As in RADAR, SONAR, all that jazz. And humans, who we all know are very curious by nature, go exploring the ocean.

Human scientists explore the northern oceans, where the Helcaraxë is/has been, and they find bodies in the ice; nonhuman, but bipedal and human ENOUGH bodies. Sure, their ears are pointed, their teeth are strange, and they have a different bone structure, but the likeness is uncanny.

After a while of simply observing, the scientists get the go-ahead from their respective governments (Gondor, if it's still there, maybe Rohan; all of those civilizations have forgotten the might of the Eldar, though) and they manage to carve one of the bodies out of the ice.

After bringing the body back to land and in a laboratory, they discover some things.

1. The body is female.

2. She has different DNA and tissues than the average human.

3. She is still living.

(They find this out when someone is trying to get a tissue sample but almost gets strangled in the process.)

She speaks an archaic language, one that no linguist can decipher. However, when she tries to communicate via writing, she writes in an ancient script similar to the letters and words found in some of Gondor's ancient artifacts---swords of olden kings, the runes on a stone crypt with a king and two (supposed) children beside him.

All the while, the news coverage is all over, and some people are panicking. Who is this woman who was found ALIVE in the ice? Why are her ears naturally pointed? How old is she? More importantly, what is she saying?

We, the readers, will know that this woman is one of the Eldar, and who is the last elf left in Middle Earth? After the sons of Elrond have sailed, after Legolas and Gimli headed West, and after Celeborn finally saw the shores of Alqualondë? Who is left?

Maglor.

Maglor sees these shocking images of a golden haired woman, obviously of the Vanyar, and recognizes her. That is Elenwë, the wife of Turgon and mother of Idril.

That is Maglor's kin.

And Maglor, who now works the most boring 9-to-5 teaching job in all of Eä, longs desperately for any kind of relative, whether they hate him or not.

So Maglor goes to the scientists, the elf that had evaded all suspicion of him being anything other than human, and wants to see his cousin. Of course, they ignore him; that is, until he shows them his ears and sings a haunting verse of the Noldolantë.

They let him inside and Elenwë sees him, speaking ancient Quenya.

"Where is my daughter, Makalaurë?" She demands. "Where is my husband?"

Maglor knows where Turgon and Idril are; they are in the Undying Lands, far, far away.

Maglor tells her, and Elenwë screams. Maglor, who has had hundreds of centuries to process his grief, tries to comfort her, but is dragged away by security. The scientists question him, and Maglor, who has not spoken of his family history in centuries, finally tells the story of burning ships, shining jewels, kidnapped twins, and the war that was supposed to end all wars.

Maglor, who is technically a citizen of whatever country this is, willingly allows himself to stay in the laboratory. He goes to Elenwë again, and after much screaming and weeping, tells her the story of a hidden city and a tortured son of Aredhel and all that followed.

Elenwë is distraught. Obviously. After, she knows that she needs to sail back to Valinor, Doomed or not. She WILL find her daughter and husband again, even if it means she has to cross the sea to do it.

After a few years, Elenwë is released to Maglor's care. She speaks the common tongue well, knows her history and geography, and, well, they can't keep a sentient being in a laboratory forever, now can they (A few want to. Maglor threads his voice with Song and they never speak of that idea again)?

Maglor returns to his job teaching at a university (he teaches linguistics and music theory) and helps Elenwë learn her way around the modern world.

"Yes, that picture is moving," Maglor explains. "No, it is not a palantír."

"I'm not stupid, Makalaurë," Elenwë hisses. She still has a shred of animosity in her heart for all the harm Maglor and his brothers had caused her family.

"And we don't list our genealogies when meeting new people," Maglor told her when Elenwë introduced herself to a bank teller and told them her lineage.

"I could tell by the look on his face, Makalaurë," Elenwë replied bitterly.

Elenwë always had the heater on, and Maglor could not blame her; millenia stuck in ice would make a person long for warmth.

One day, Elenwë points to the drawing on Maglor's mantle and asks, "Who is that?"

The ellon had lines on his forehead, just like her dear Turukano; she always said they were from dealing with Findekáno's oddity.

Maglor was hesitant. "That Itarillë's grandson, your great-grandson."

Elenwë is delighted to hear that her daughter found love in Beleriand, but there was something that Maglor did not tell her.

So he told her, of course; Elenwë always knew if he was lying. He told her about the fire-haired twins' death, the burning camp of refugees, and her grandson's children left at the hands of two kinslayers.

"And love grew between them," Maglor told her. "They were Elrond and Elros, and... I see them as my sons."

Elenwë wanted to be angry. Scream at her cousin for causing so much grief for her daughter's family, but she couldn't. Makalaurë was oathbound to find that silmaril, but he still sought to do good.

"He sailed with Galadriel, Artanis as you know her, a few Ages ago," Maglor said. "He was as kind as summer."

After a while, Elenwë got her own job, an apartment nearby. She gets a degree and finds a stable job. She lives by the coast, like Maglor, and feels the sea tug on her heart every time she hears the rushing waves.

Then, Elenwë buys a boat.

Elenwë buts a boat and asks Maglor to go with her.

"It has been millenia, Makalaurë," she says. "Will you not go to Valinor? Will you leave your family thinking you are dead?"

Maglor refuses. He thinks that he cannot leave Middle Earth. "I am Doomed, Elenwë, but do not let my choices prevent you from going. See your husband, your daughter, your grandchildren and so on. Do not dwell on the past as I have, Elenwë."

"You hypocrite of hypocrites!" Elenwë cries. "You tell me to go and see my child when you will not go and see yours?"

Maglor goes with her.

He takes his favorite pillow, his silver harp made by his father, Maedhros's copper circlet, Elros's wooden toy horse, and leaves behind a copy of the Noldolantë.

Elenwë and Maglor sail.

They think that they will aimlessly wander the Sundering Seas, but they are wrong. Eru smiles at them, and they see the banks of Tol Eressëa. The dock is long gone, but homes dot the sandy shores, still littered with pearls and white gems.

Maglor and Elenwë sail, and they are welcomed.

Maglor is welcomed by six brothers, all released from Námo's halls. He is welcomed by a guilty father, who begs for his son's forgiveness on his knees. He is welcomed by a grieving mother, who had never thought she would see her son again.

He is welcomed by a son that was not his, and a daughter-in-law that looks suspiciously like Galadriel.

Elenwë is welcomed by a husband who has grieved for millenia, who is guilty for not saving her. She is welcomed by her daughter, now grown, and a human man she calls her husband. She is welcomed by a woman with bird-like features, who is her granddaughter-in-law. She is welcomed by her great-grandson, whose picture sat on Makalaurë's mantle for all the time she'd been in Middle Earth.

Maglor returns to his family. He is not exiled, or Doomed to the Everlasting Darkness. He is called home for tea and to play games with his brothers. He is not a ghost story to tell children on rainy nights. He is not a warning to those provoked to anger. He is an elf; an elf who wanted to go home.

Elenwë returns to her family. She is not a casualty listed among the fallen of Helcaraxë. She is not a wife who was not named. Elenwë lives.

Elenwë lives, and she was not forgotten.

Cryptid AU: Heart Potion Effectiveness

I’ve decided to start making little informational posts about some aspects of my au! Some general thoughts I’ve had or answering questions! For this one, I was thinking about biology and physiology and how potions would affect each Link given their differing levels of Hylian-ness. And so! In no particular order:

Twilight (shapeshifter) : Heart potions heal him very well, similarly to how it works in canon. Depending on the injury, he’ll need multiple doses, which must not be taken immediately after each other or else they could cause poisoning. It is recommended that he take one every half hour and rest in between. Note that the dosage he is able to consume will change depending on the shape he takes: a small animal like a bird or squirrel would be able to handle far less while a larger animal such as Wolfie would be able to handle more at a time. Wounds that he receives while in a different shape will always transfer over to the next one when he shifts.

Four (I honestly have know idea what to call them yet) : Heart potions also work very well for them! Not much to say here, it’s mostly the same as Twilight. Although I’ll point out that if an individual color gets injured while they’re split, the injury will remain on the body when they reform. Communication between colors is vital. (Good thing they’re good at that. Haha)

Legend (Mer) : Heart potions have a muted effect on Legend unless he’s actively in his Mer form and soaking in salt water. While he’s in his ‘Hylian’ form, he’s not using his true body, so it doesn’t heal in the same way his Mer body would. Being an entirely aquatic species, he functions better in sea water in every circumstance, and that includes healing. Since he’s not always in a position where he can soak, he relies on Hyrule’s magic for the most part. Or deals with sub par healing.

Wind (Aquili) : Wind, being another sea creature, reacts to heart potions very similarly to Legend. Although because Aquili are amphibious rather than fully aquatic, he’s a lot less dependent on water as part of the healing process. If he sustains a particularly bad wound, soaking him before giving him a potion would be beneficial. But in most cases, he responds well to heart potions. And while it’s true that he heals better while in his Aquili form, changing between Aquili and ‘Hylian’ is no issue for him.

Hyrule (Fairy) : THIS KID IS DRINKING HEART POTIONS LIKE HIS LIFE DEPENDS ON IT. Because, in a way, it does. Hyrule, while he’s a very powerful fairy and has a lot of magic at his disposal, cannot use that magic on himself. He can heal everyone else all he wants, but can’t heal himself. And so, he relies solely on heart potions to get through particularly dangerous battles or accidents. I will note that it is rare for him to get hurt badly enough to necessitate this kind of intervention. He has excellent control of his spells and his glamour. Unless he’s magically exhausted (which he never is, right? Right?), he can defend himself better than anyone. Part of his is because of his extreme caution to never EVER bleed, and partly because of his ability to turn two inches tall and be fully capable of using powerful spells.

Wild (Forest Spirit) : Heart potions are entirely ineffective for Wild, as they are made with parts of monsters. Monsters are made of evil and darkness and Wild is made of Light, so they’re treated like poison to his body. Wild is kind of sort of immortal in that he does not age, but he can definitely be killed. (I treat him kind of like a Skykid for anyone who knows Sky: Children of the Light. When he looses all of his Light, he dies. And he looses this Light to things like Malice and Gloom and attacks from monsters, since they are entities of evil and hatred). In order for Wild to heal, he needs to be strengthened by things that come from the earth. This why he cooks often and eats often.

Warriors (Sword Spirit) : Heart potions do absolutely nothing for him. He cannot drink them. He’s a sword. If he runs out of energy, he can retreat into his sword until he’s back to normal: that’s generally how injuries with him are going to look. His spirit form can only take so many hits before he has to rest. Unless his physical sword got damaged, which would be NOT GOOD. However, they do have a very capable smith in their ranks so I’m sure Wars will be fine. Haha.

Sky (Avian) : Heart potions only heal Sky half way, and in many cases, can be detrimental to his mental health. Since his is the combination between Link and Aepon, heart potions alone heal him unevenly and force a separation between his two parts. As Link is more healed than Aepon, the others might notice a change in his behavior. And due to the general inefficiency in healing physical wounds, the others will opt for different healing methods for Sky; sub par healing is not worth the turmoil that it puts him through. For best healing results, mushroom spores from Skyloft (Loftwing medicine) will be mixed into heart potions and given to Sky. But since those mushroom spores can only be found in the sky and are rarely available, Sky relies on Hyrule for the major wounds and tends to himself for the smaller ones.

Time (God) : Heart potions for Time are a MASSIVE energy boost. This can be very, very dangerous as it can cause him to loose himself, and he won’t come down from it for a long while. No one likes a rampaging God. That being said, he is a God, if Time needs a potion, they have bigger issues.

Also Time is actually legitimately immortal. With no danger of death, there’s no need for potions. I will explain the logistics of his immortality in another post I promise haha!

Cryptid Ideas Part 4

Well, have you ever heard of Land of the Lustrous? No? Good because I myself keep forgetting that it exists. Anyway it’s an anime that features living gems. That’s kind of where I got the idea for Liora from. I figured that he could be made up of two different things his main body would be Tiger’s Eye while he’s hair could be made up of obsidian. Why? You ask. Well(just to be clear I don’t practice this so if I get this wrong then I apologize) some people believe that stones hold healing properties. Now Tiger’s Eye symbolizes Courage while obsidian symbolizes truths so I thought it could fit in for him and his character. I’ll put pictures below of what I found. (Got them from Google). Also I thought that if he were out in sunlight then he would be sparkling like Edward from Twilight.

Now with Gorr the amazing spectacular Crypid Design(TM) I have is not a Cryptid… nor any mythological character. A human. To explain why I also have to explain Mothreon, Hellcat, and unicorns in this AU. So in this AU Cryptid’s agreed not to have any contact with humans(which they keep breaking even Solon has sightings of him) and those three I just mentioned did not agree neither did Goblins for the longest time so they’re classified as less intelligent and more aggressive. So Gorr’s backstory is mostly still the same and you might be wondering then why is Mason the only one classified as a human? Which you’re not wondering because I just figured this out once I read Gorr’s bio. Now we all know what changelings are so Gorr falls under uncanny valley. Nails just a bit too sharp, eyes just a bit too wide. Now with Grizz I was thinking of Fenrir. If you don’t know then Fenrir is a giant wolf and one of Loki’s children. Because Loki has a weird thing with his children. Still not as bad as the time he was a mother to an 8 legged horse. Anyway I want Grizz to look like Fenrir because of what happened to them both. Ever heard of a self fulfilling prophecy? That’s what Odin caused because he cast three of Loki’s children together different places. Hel to rule the one of the underworlds, cast the serpent into the sea(where it grew to become the world serpent), and Fenrir who he kept for a while because at the time he was just a little pup. Fenrir even made friends with Tyr who is the god of war. Long story short. Fenrir grew massive. The gods tried different chains to get Fenrir down and said it was a game. Fenrir grew worried the last time so he told one of the gods to put a hand in his mouth and if his trapped they’ll lose a hand. So yeah Try lost a hand that day and Fenrir lost his freedom. Until his prophesied to escape and kill Odin during Ragnorock. So end my opinion both Grizz and Fenrir were betrayed(in different ways). So that’s why I want Grizz to be a giant wolf. Could be that he’s a new Cryptid entirely. Actually what if he was a regular wolf and he’s sister was caught by hunters? Maybe he tried finding her and was put into an illegal dog fighting game? Maybe he just started growing and once he found out that they killed his sister and he lashes out and kills the hunters? Maybe through the fury he gains the ability to speak. Maybe the government captured him and keeps him in containment. Maybe Solon finds a way to him and offers him an opportunity to escape. Hehehe, it’s all coming together 😎

Lila won the polls, so she gets to go first. Here are my different versions of Lila in my different Spooky Month AUs:

Lila (After-Canon/Close-To-Canon AU) - Lila here is the same as she is in canon, being the caring and loving mother of Skid. However, this version is also very secretive, having constantly hidden things about Skid's father from him and others. Though she may or may not have been involved with the cult, she was implied to have a lot of knowledge about it, keeping some items hidden in the attic. Such a shame what happened to her...

Witch (The Cryptid of Hallows AU) - Again, this Lila is very similar to herself in canon. However, this one has been shown to have magical/mystical abilities, which she still struggles to control. She was unaware of what her husband was, but knew he was not human and that Skid would be similar to him. She does her best to take care of Skid, despite the added difficulties of his eldritch powers.

Queen (Everything Lost AU) - A cruel, cold-hearted version of Lila, who had accidentally resurrected Atticus in a moment of drunken grief after Hollow Sorrows. Her husband was surprisingly loving in the beginning, which should have been her first warning about his intentions after his return. Once Atticus took over, she tried to fight back, but was quickly overpowered and 'convinced' to join his side, sharing the same desire for power as him. Despite her heartless nature, there is still some part of her that wishes for the safety of her son, whom she has not seen since the start of the takeover.

Nebula (The Stars & Skid AU) - Lila takes the place of Greg in the Steven Universe show, the two of them sharing the single-parent role. Unlike Greg, Lila keeps her job as an architect, being gone from the house the majority of the time and leaving Skid in the care of his gem family. She does her best to care for him despite it, always trying to spend time with him when he's not off on his adventures and telling him the better parts of her relationship with his father.

Lavender (The Mystery of Hollow's End AU) - A variant of Lila with amnesia. She serves as the Velvet Room assistant to Carver, helping Kevin piece together the mysteries of Hollow's End and providing him with the ability to fuse Personas. Before, she was once Skid's mother and a friend to many residents in town, but had been mysteriously murdered alongside her husband. And though she has no memory of her son, there are still vague remnants of her kind and motherly self that show through her actions.

Captain (Spooks of the Seven Seas AU) - The fierce and terrifying pirate captain known as the Blind Shadow. This captain sails the seas with her crew, traveling from all over the kingdom. She seeks to protect the ones who were wronged by the world from those who take advantage of others. Though her methods are a bit unorthodox, they are nonetheless effective and have earned her the respect of many. Those who underestimate her due to her disability are swiftly taught that doing so is a foolish thing. But, despite her fierceness, she is still kind, treating her crew more like they are family and making sure that everyone who boards her ship is cared for. (She's one of my favorites)

Hi, hello feel free to ignore this because this is literally just me ranting about what cryptids/creatures the Twst x MH cast could be (also I’m not sure if you said who does the gossip page in the Au, but I like to imagine it’s cater) Okay, so I’m not completely sure how the shark part of it would fit, but azul being the Lusca or a kraken (also very unlikely and I’m not sure how it would even be incorporated into his design but Nessie azul is so funny to me, because nessie is popular among humans who believe in cryptids and azul realizing that humans find him interesting and sometimes cute is so funny to me) also, Kalim as a king otter, based solely off of Floyd’s nickname for him (can you tell I like the fish mafia?) is so cute for me, because you could give him clawed hands and larger then normal canines (since the king otter is also called the water hound) I think the only not fitting part of it is that it’s a carnivore (although I guess if you ignore some parts of the legend it kinda resemble jamil and kalim’s characters during jamil’s overblot…if you squint) also kinda wild idea, but silver as a wendigo or a not deer because of his whole forest animals liking him thing? (Or maybe a harpy?) I’m going to end this here before it gets too long, because I will start ranting about ideas for everyone

I had many conflicting thoughts on what the Octavinelle trio would be in this AU.. because aside from the obvious part that I'd make them sea monsters, I didn't know WHICH kind of sea monsters they could be :(

I'm not too familiar on the specifics or lesser known cryptids/creatures in general- but I find your listing of names very creative and fitting!! I even had to search for some of those mentioned since I've never even heard about half them wldnwpdjwl and they're actually so cool! I rlly got to find a wiki of creatures or something to browse for more ideas..

If you or anyone got more ideas for monsters in this AU, I would love to hear it! I'm not sure which of the concepts I'd stick with, but it's always nice and fun to hear other people's opinions and takes on the cast!

Scout: Becomes a “LORD OF ALL (wild) MAGIC!!!” because fuck the Coven System all the way

-Gives the Emperor’s Coven a living hell by pranking and putting them in a marathon across the Boiling Isles to the point the Golden Guard, Lilith (before Young Blood, Old Souls), or a Coven Head is involved. But the Golden Guard serves as Scout’s main competition until Hollow Mind.

-Always lands in the Detention Track and Scout doesn’t even care! What kind of moron says using one magic is legal, yet doing all kinds of magic is illegal?!

Soldier: Abomination

-He surprisingly got into the EC and is currently a Captain. But Sol primarily specializes in Abomination magic the most because think of the army he would summon and yell commands Pokémon trainer-style

-Soldier wanted to take on all, yes ALL, of the Coven Heads at once cause he heard they are the “most powerful witches on the BI”

Pyro: Bard, Illusion, and Potions

-There are a few Coven Scouts that report feeling frightened by their encounter with this wild witch (and the Scouts even compared Pyro to Hooty but like. without the bad Mickey Mouse voice impression. just an almost silent “cryptid.”).

-Pyro doesn’t agree with the idea of using only one type of magic, even though they primarily specialize in three certain types of magic the most. The merc wants to have fun in this magical world, y’know?

Demoman: Potion

-Conjures magical potions of mass destruction

-Amplifies his scrumpies to boost his attacks, such as his Demoknight Charge ✨🍾✨

-Frequent visitor at Grimgrub’s Pub

-Is a member of Salty’s crew and Demo fought numerous sea beasts with his bare hands

Heavy: Construction

-They say his strength matches that of Mason’s, but those that share close connections with this merc say Heavy’s strength is greater than the Construction Coven Head’s.

-In fact, he was petitioned for that title but Heavy denied the offer and chose to focus on his family’s needs instead

Engineer: Abomination

-Engineer would eventually do Construction and Bard magic post-S3

-One of the EC’s main defense suppliers

-He’s inspired by Alador’s inventions

Medic: Healing (ofc)

-Well. Things are gonna look....splendid when Medic meets Hettie on one of his work days at a Healer House (this isn’t an official name for clinics during Belos’ reign btw)

-Archimedes becomes his palisman in this AU

Sniper: Beast-Keeping

-Some half-bird demon

-Works as a Demon Hunter (which is kinda ironic for Sniper’s species in this crossover AU, but least he got the job due to his sharpshooting skills)

Spy: Illusion (ofc)

-Was doing rebel work on his own, and sees Adrian Graye as an “embarrassment to illusionists everywhere” after Labyrinth Runners. Prior to the Hexside invasion, Spy originally saw Graye as a “close second to the deadliest illusionist I know,” due to the latter’s Coven Head status.

Although the two have not properly met each other, Spy would consider Gus as a “close second.” The merc still considers himself as the deadliest illusionist on the BI.

-On the other hand, Spy would commend Darius’ fashion sense. Those two would get along pretty well.

My ideas for Manos in a Monster Hunter AU!

(May adjust some stuff but this is the general idea!)

Set in the modern age, creatures and monsters from all kinds of backgrounds inhabit the world, hidden from the general public. Beasts from long ago folklore or more current cryptids are sparse and incredibly rare to see, but nonetheless are as dangerous as the tales about them say they are. Attacks are chalked up to missing person reports, and any information pointing towards the real culprits are derided and thought of as baseless rumors.

Here, Manos Armlilla serves as a part of the small but vital bulwark to protect against these creatures. In this world there are a myraid of groups that have taken up the task of defending mankind from monsters whilst keeping their existence a secret. Manos is a member of an order of monster slayers, a recently indoctrinated hunter meant to risk life and limb in his line of work. While he receives support, orders, and information from those above, he has to mainly operate on his own, only occasionally meeting with other members in person.

With a the many monsters that exist in the world, one needs just as many ways to deal with them. Whether it’d be silver armaments to kill a werewolf, blessed stakes for a vampire, or harpoons to skewer a sea beast, Manos finds himself using quite a few tools of the trade.

His job as a monster hunter works on a mission to mission basis. Manos’ll be contacted by his group after an attack or information comes in regarding a possible threat or creature in his area, and he’ll receive orders to deal with it, along with any extra equipment deemed necessary for the job.

His main weapons of choice are comprised of a repurposed fire axe, very good for cleanly separating heads from monsters, and a small shotgun, very good for messing separating heads from monsters. The jobs he receives can vary in terms of location. Sometimes there’ll be a creature sulking in the shadows of his home city, other times he’ll be sent out into the rural countryside or the quiet wilderness to handle monsters there.

Manos was brought into this order due to his exceptional physical traits, but more importantly, showed he was willingly to accept the risks this occupation held and understood the good that it could do. Every mission has its own dangers, and he sees putting himself out there as a way to keep the rest of the world out of harms way.

Outside of monster hunting, he’ll spend his time keeping up his strength and trying to study what he can about these creatures, albeit with difficulty. He still acts like his normal verse, trying to be kind, acting like a goof, and being loud and extroverted as ever. During missions he knows to take on a more serious demeanor, for his own safety’s sake, and often fights to keep from panicking and stay calm in the face of danger.

Right I suck at writing fanfiction but here’s a cool AU, I just thought of. Not sure if it’s already even been thought of yet but here it goes:

Trigun Pirate AU!

Everything is kinda the same only it’s set on a planet with a huge ocean instead of an arid desert planet.

Either it’s set in the actual pirate times, or it’s set in the distant future with inspiration from the past. Instead of cattle punk it’s now pirate punk, I guess? 🤔

I’m imagining Vash in a long red coat and feathery hat, captain of his own ship. He’s also some sort of undead immortal sea cryptid too. He’s also wanted for piracy and other crimes against humanity. In true Vash fashion, a lot of it isn’t actually purposeful, he’s just unfortunate. He’s also trying to save everyone and it doesn’t quite add up to his personality as a pirate.

Milly and Meryl are female pirates that are disguised as men. Kind of reminiscent of Anne Bonny and Mary Read, only without the boob flashing (or maybe with. That’s badass as fuck). They end up teaming up with Captain Vash as part of his ragtag crew.

Wolfwood can be the priest of Port Royal or somewhere, that is actually a badass and decides being a priest just isn’t for him and turns to piracy. His sword “The Punisher” is what he fights with.

There’s maybe a lot of bed sharing polygun stuff going on and plenty of getting sloshed on rum, sea shanties and swashbuckling. There’s still guns but there’s more swords.

Knives, Legato and the Gung Hoes (haha hoes 🤣) can be “Bad” pirates that do the worst pirate stuff and Vash gets blamed for it. Knives also wants Vash to stop trying to save the humans and join his whatever sea creature cryptid thing they are army and kill them all.

Hmmmmm…. Zazie can be some kind of sea creature that isn’t necessarily on anyone’s side, but just wants to be mischievous for the heck of it. Maybe a dolphin? 🤣 Or a type of mermaid/siren thing?

I’ve been listening to a lot of sea shanties recently, and well yeah. Pirates AU. That’s all I have.

I am doing okay. Wings of Fire has official merchandise now: Cutie Cuffs! So I'm excited😊 I am planning to plant a rosebush. My family and I used to have some, but the last one, which was around for years and years, died a few summers back. And I'm planning on doing one of the Wings of Fire AUs, one where the X-Men and mutants are all one tribe, which is then a mystery/cryptid tribe to other dragons, as they'd be the stand-in equivalent for mutants. I'm thinking... SeaWings. Sea dragons. They have magic, an underwater language, can live on land and in water, and I'm in a sea creature mood, to be real...
