This week is shaping up to be a little bit overbooked with Adult Life Shit given all of the laundry (actual) plus the laundry list of multi-month neglected things that need to be done and were left hanging while I was blissfully elsewhere. Once again my house looks like a books+art supplies+electronics+clothing bomb has just EXPLODED everywhere.

That said:

I am feeling EXCEEDINGLY CYBERPUNK 2077 for Reasons. Fanfic reasons mostly although I still want to try my hand at VP for doing series of narrative shots (although finding the time for that is ... tbd).

Yet, also feeling very Stardew Valley for fanfic prompt challenge reasons. Contradictions between 1&2? Maybe. Or maybe not.

One of these years I need to attack my FFVII fanfic ideas/drafts which are feeling more and more relevant in the current climate. Perhaps it was not an accident that all of the ideas for those fics came to me as shower thoughts in February-March of 2017. Hmmmmmm. Now what was happening in the world at that time? Yeah....

But most important: Still thinking about how I am restructuring my tumblr account and (many inactive) sideblogs, plus lots of other fannish stuff scattered around the internet.

Lots of things I have been wanting to cleanup, update, tidy, revise for years but just ... wasn't of high enough importance. Now I'm feeling like it would be a very good distraction but, also, a very good reminder for me about how I used to write.

Will also start posting on BlueSky but right now all I have is an empty placeholder account that I made ages ago.

And now: Back to (a) making phone calls to unfuck all the fucked things; (b) contemplating how to rework my two workspaces (work from home living) such that it all works better for me; (c) taking cats to vet for checkups; (d) failing at solving the laundry problem; (e) workie mcwork.

Started a Slytherin playthrough of HL and decided to write a character background for my MC. Two weeks later, I had 100 pages and an entire longfic outline. So voila, the product of my summer has been uploaded to AO3, and thought I'd make a HL dedicated sideblog for my endeavors.

I haven't published a fic in ages, but I had an extended period of time off this summer and I couldn't help but finish Sebastian's story. There are time jumps in some chapters, and for the most part, the story will cover our favorite slytherins from 1891-1898. When I say I've got plans, oh baby, they're plans.

I have four chapters published so far, and about twelve currently drafted! So if anyone would like to beta, let me know :) I know I'm late to the HL fandom, but man, it's been a minute since the inspiration has hit this hard.

so today I'm thinking of a no-band-AU semi-inspired by this post I made a week ago

in which Olli and Aleksi have recently moved in together in their new fancy house and they're so happy and in love and having a lot of sex (yes this is an important plot detail 🥰)

(spoiler alert: there is no plot. not even a little bit (hence I won't be writing this))

their relationship had a controversial start because they were still dating other people when they fell in love

Joonas is pining for Joel who's in a toxic on/off relationship with Samy

Joel may be struggling with something else too idk haven't decided, but Joonas is there for him always and he loves Joel so so much

as for Tommi and Niko: maybe Tommi and Olli used to be an item at some point, although he's not the one Olli broke up with to be with Aleksi

and maybe Joonas and Niko had something going on but Niko ended it because he saw how in love with Joel Joonas was

so Niko and Tommi have lots of deep discussions about whether it's weird for Tommi to see Olli with Aleksi (not really because it's been a while and he can see how happy Olli is now (way happier than he was with his previous partner))

and about how it is for Niko to see Joonas suffering so much because of Joel (it's hard but there's not much niko can do about it is there)

and yeah they end up spending the night together at some point 👀 they decide to keep it casual and low-key though so they tell no one

eventually it becomes maybe a little more than just friends hooking up but they're still sorta chill about it and it feels very natural (for Tommi it's better than the random one-night-stands he's been having and for Niko it's definitely better than worrying about Joonas all time time)

and yeah, as it is a non-band-AU I've also given some thought to what they all could be doing instead of being in a band (which is my favourite part of non-band-AUs hehe)

first of all, Tommi is a paramedic because I recently re-watched this old interview in which they all tell the what they'd be doing for a living if they weren't musicians in a band and that's Tommi's answer

ngl it would be kinda funny if I gave everyone the occupation they mention in the video but I think 'gravedigger' for Niko would be a tad too gloomy for the purposes of this AU lol, so he's a writer. a struggling one maybe, but still, and he spends a lot of time in his head (very in-character I knoooooooww <3)

Olli is a graphic designer at a... ummm... a place where graphic designers work? idk just some company, he works from home a lot (so that he can have sex with his bf during his breaks)

Aleksi is still a producer, has a fancy-ass studio in the house. Robin is one of the artists he works with, because of course he is

Olli and Aleksi secretly want to ask Robin if he'd be up for a threesome but he's a literal puppy and oblivious and they don't know how to bring it up lol

and maybe Johnny's Aleksi's co-producer and they also fantasize about having threesome with him 😂 sorry yes they are very horny and kinky in this AU

not sure what Joel and Joonas could be doing, but I like to imagine them as co-workers in some kinda music business or whatever. maybe they're also roommates, just to make it extra painful for Joonas 😭 and maybe Joel is a musician on the side (plays covers at bars etc.), because I simply can't imagine him another career than music

a random "scene" I've thought of includes Niko and Joonas coming over to test the new sauna at the Matela-Kaunisvesi residence, but because Niko and Joonas feel awkward having sauna together, they end up mixing the pairs and so we have Aleksi and Niko having deep discussions in the sauna and Joonas and Olli talking about sex while waiting for their turn lol (they've been friends since forever and maybe had some experiments together when they were teens so it's very natural for them)

but yeah, the reason why I'm not writing this AU is because I have no clear plot for it 😔 but honestly? sometimes it's fun just creating these AUs and characters in my head 🥺

I wish I could write all these ideas into actual stories but I'm scared of biting off more than I can chew, so I intimidate and overwhelm myself from even giving it a fair try 😭

5. why did you start your blog in the first place? well i answered that above kind of ... i've always sort of gotten weird obsessed with whatever i'm watching or reading, no one else i knew really had the same level and that i remember during the first weeks of lockdown searching stuff on what i was watching instead of bothering uninterested people about it and ended up on tumblr looking at fan art of zuko and sokka :P and all these people losing it over fictional characters i was like ... i think i'm home? so i got a tumblr to participate in it more.

Hi, I’m alive.

I’ve been writing, I just haven’t really felt like talking about it on here? More and more, having a writing blog like this feels pointless.

But anyway, small update I guess:

I’ve completely reworked my wip Celestial Bodies from the ground up, and am in the drafting process.

I’ve put my wip Fallen Star on hold, because it was tied to the original world of CB, but now it might have to be its own stand-alone thing and I might need to rework some stuff.

I’ve been writing for a fandom-based, text-based private RP with my girlfriend fairly regularly, like several times a week, which I feel like has helped me to build a writing routine.

I’m starting to get interested in ttrpg, but I have no one to play with (girlfriend is long distance and very busy with a full time job and I don’t want to take time away from her other hobbies and our ongoing rp), roommate isn’t interested, don’t really have many other IRL friends and afraid of playing online with strangers) so I’m thinking of getting into solo ttrpgs. I’ve made a couple characters already, I just haven’t gotten around to actually playing yet. When I do, I might post about that here? Because it’s kind of writing, I suppose. I’ll either post about it here or just make a sideblog for it.

Got an idea for a fanfic for the first time in forever but it takes place in the 1800s and I don’t know a fucking thing about the 1800s, so I need to do some research before I can actually write it. Will I share it publicly? Who knows! I tend to keep my fanfic to myself and only share it with my girlfriend and one of my old college friends. But it’s a writing project, so I might as well mention it.

It’s an Update

Hello, Riddle here! I know I’ve been pretty quiet on Tumblr lately. Here’s an update on my situation:

I will definitely post more fanfic updates soon. I’ve picked at drafts, but haven’t posted anything lately. Here are the reasons why:

I got a new IRL job. It’s a good fit for me, but I have less free time than I used to, of course. It’s a job that involves writing lots of articles on a variety of topics, and I enjoy how every day is a little different

Most of my free time for the last year has gone towards my mod work at the Creature-Crossing ARPG, and to my personal CC writing. I’ve been working on new activities over there (my recent favorite being our seasonal familiar shows... I won first place in the summer show!) and I have a lot of plot plans that are coming together now. If you ever want to see my original characters and read my CC writing, you can find my character directory HERE and my Table of Contents HERE.

Once November 1st hits, I won’t be preparing for the release of any more CC activities or events. All future activity or event releases will be overseen by the other mods, and I’ll simply be someone they can ask for extra help if needed. This is a big change for a mod who spent the last 12 months working on new releases, and will give me back some of the free time my IRL job will eat

The Creature-Crossing admin (my boss) greenlit my request to bring an assistant on the mod team who will specifically help me with a lot of my behind-the-scenes work, such as data entry and organization. I’ve never had another mod who specifically helps me with the back end duties before, so that will be awesome. I will need to spend some time training them, but once they are official, that will take some of my workload off and allow me more free time for this blog and personal writing time.

So, what does this update mean for your fanfics?

They’ll be active again soon! I’ve been picking at them behind the scenes, trying to build up a buffer. In an ideal world, I would love to release a new chapter for SOMETHING every Friday. I doubt this will be possible, but it’s something I would love to work towards in the future. Realistically, you can probably expect some kind of fanfic update once every two Fridays (two updates per month).

There might be some Fridays where posting an update is not possible. Instead, I’ll make a post about what progress I made instead. In the past, I often overworked myself to get a chapter out in time for my old deadline. I will not be doing that anymore, but will instead hold myself to a goal of “Make progress on something every week.”

In the best ideal world, I would love to post one FOP fanfic update per week and one non-FOP fanfic update per week. This is not likely to happen for a long, long time, but that would be the dream.

Here are the things I most likely worked on if there is no fanfic update:

- A fanfic chapter draft that needs more time

- A sideblog profile

- A Toyhouse profile for personal characters

- IRL work or mod work may have kept me busy this week

- Creature-Crossing writing... I will try to prioritize my fanfics more, but my CC writing is still important to me and I will be working on it in a lot of my free time too. At the moment, I have a hard deadline of December 14th that I need to meet if I want to release huge plot drama on the day that it happens in canon. I’ve been building up to this for a long time, so I’m really excited about that.

I currently have summer or autumn 2022 planned as the “finale” for the majority of my plot to explode. I will be hosting a member-run event in Creature-Crossing that will last for two months, so a lot of my time from January until the event’s release will be spent doing event prep. Once the event ends, my story content will mostly be a “return to slice of life.” Stories will be more casual one-offs as characters grow, live their lives, and start their own families. Hitting seasonal deadlines for plot will no longer be so important. I’ll be giving Creature-Crossing work less attention after that, and much more attention to my fanfics.

- I may not have a fanfic chapter out each week, but I WILL post a note every Friday to let you know what I have been doing with my time. You’ll see me around. Feel free to send Asks and talk!

What non-FOP fanfics would you like to work on?

For literal years, I’ve been claiming I want to post Mario World fanfics. This is still something I want to do. I tag Mario World posts as “mushrooms and more.” I’ve already done a lot of worldbuilding, I have thousands of words of content written for this fandom... I just haven’t posted any of it. I hope to do this soon.

- “WordGirl” fanfics are prioritized over Mario World fanfics. After I finish my first “WordGirl” multi-chapter, I will probably be ready to post my Mario World ‘fics. I may possibly post some Mario World one-shots in between other fanfic updates. Might take another year or more before I touch Mario stuff unless there’s high interest in seeing it sooner?

I also really want to write some WordGirl ‘fics and get more involved with the fandom community. I’ve been building headcanons and lore for this show ever since I was a kid, and I have multiple ‘fics for this fandom that I want to write.

- “AlgoRhythm” is a ‘fic I have already posted on FFN and AO3, about WordGirl introducing Kid Math to the villains in town

- 28 Cities is a ‘fic I started about Rhyme and Reason before they arrived in Fair City. I put it on hiatus since it didn’t seem like anyone was interested, but I’m willing to post more for it if there is interest in it now that years have passed and I’ve gotten more followers who like WordGirl. I have a lot of worldbuilding and plot I never shared for it

- Factor It In is a ‘fic I’ve been working for a while that parallels the official show from the moment Kid Math arrives in town. It focuses on Rex’s struggle to adjust to this world as a child coming into his superpowers for the first time (Y’know, the whole “superheroes don’t have powers when they’re on their home planets” thing), his struggle to adapt to the social world of a non-logical planet, and Becky’s struggle to help him become accustomed to Earth and learn to share it with her as well. If the episode “Kid Math” was a full-length novel about Rex’s arrival and character development, that’s what this story is. This is the highest priority of all my non-FOP ‘fics... I’ve had a cover image made for 6 months and even though I tried setting it aside, I’ve always been super inspired to write for it. If I felt like it would be a good idea to commit to weekly updates alongside my FOP updates, I would, haha.

- I have two one-shot WIPs called “Squishy Feelings” and “A Little Ambiguity”, one of them focusing on Becky and Rex talking about the events of “Rhyme and Reason” and what it means for Rex’s secret identity, and the latter being a future ‘fic showing WordGirl and Kid Math dealing with life 10 to 15 years down the road. I’ll probably post the latter, not sure yet on the former.

- If desired, I may make a WordGirl specific sideblog where I post lore, answer Asks, post character profiles [smaller than my FOP sideblog ones], and mention fanfic updates. If you would be interested in this, feel free to send me an Ask requesting I do this. If there’s not interest, I’ll just keep my WordGirl stuff on the main blog.

- I’d like to get more involved in the WordGirl community, so I’ll probably post more content and reblog more art and headcanons

I also have a handful of miscellaneous ideas I might follow through with. I’d like to write at least one “TUFF Puppy” fanfic so I can say I did. In a perfect world I would like to finish the two “Danny Phantom” and “Bunsen Is a Beast” fanfics I started because... I just kind of want to dip my toe in each of the Hartman shows once since I already went through all the effort of worldbuilding for them to make them canon in a single Hartman show universe. “ChalkZone” is another show I adore and might touch someday (You may recall I have a full outline planned for an FOP/ChalkZone crossover ‘fic called “Dust to Dust”).

Will I write all of these things? Maybe not. I have no idea if I want to spend the next 10+ years writing fanfics, or if I’ll simply be done with all misc. fanfics immediately once I decide to be done with my main ‘fics. I definitely intend to write for a few more years and finish my main ‘fics, but I might not go through with some less popular side ‘fics if life is getting busy for me.

What is the posting schedule for FOP ‘fics?

Reedfilter Rules, Frayed Knots, Origin of the Pixies, the 130 Prompts project, and “Come What May” are all high priority FOP writings. I will swap between them depending on my mood that week.

Here are some other ‘fics I want to work on.

- If you like, you can send me Asks requesting I work on a specific story above the rest. I will try to prioritize whichever stories interest you guys most.

Snips and Snails is a ‘fic I started and posted the first chapter for years ago. I’m not sure when I will get back to it, as I ran into some writer’s block. It’s still on tentative hiatus for now..... Possibly forever, though I hope it isn’t forever since it’s only supposed to be, like, five more chapters.

Pink and Gray is on official hiatus. I actually have a lot written for it, but I know it’s a little weird to put so much time and energy into Gary and Betty content when... well, let’s be honest: they’re my niche favorites and most of you probably don’t care. So, I am lifting my usual “no spoilers” policy from my Ask Box. If you would like to ask about my Gary and Betty backstory headcanons, feel free. I will tag my replies as “ridwriting spoilers” for anyone who wants to blacklist the tag, and spoilers will be hidden under a Read More line. 

I’d like to return to this story someday because there are tons of things I like about it (ranging from Betty’s secret tattoos to Gary’s plot drama with his mom to the background drama between Talon and Anti-Cosmo, but I always feel immense pressure to make it extra cool to make up for the fact these are weird side characters, so... it’s officially at the bottom of the priority pile. Once Talon shows up in Frayed Knots and readers understand who he is and why he exists, I’ll consider coming back to it.

Identity Theft is a story about Foop and his time in the alternate dimension he was flung into following the episode “Playdate of Doom.” To put it short, Foop was abused by alternate versions of his parents in this dimension and he witnessed some pretty intense stuff, including the death of the alt version of himself who existed in that reality. The trauma he experienced resulted in his alternate personality, Hiccup. Foop himself has very few memories of what happened, as Hiccup has all of those memories. This story is canon in my works, and it is regularly referred to during the 130 Prompts as part of Foop’s backstory. It’s my highest priority side story to work on.

Along the Cherry Lane is a 20-chapter work focusing on the lives of the main human cast from age 11 to age 30, with one chapter showing a snippet of their lives each year. You see Timmy raising Tommy and Tammy in this ‘fic, and it ends with them receiving godparents. Since the 130 Prompts don’t give humans much attention, this ‘fic does. You’ll probably see it debut two years from now, closer to when the 130 Prompts is ready to talk more about humans.

If this becomes a popular ‘fic of mine, I’ll probably write a sequel or continue it past Chapter 30 and write about Tammy and Tommy living with fairies, but I won’t if there’s no interest in that.

Little Imperfections is a Pixie AU ‘fic of mine about what life would be like in a universe where the Fairies are even more like insects than I play them as during my main works (where I already play them as semi-similar to insects). In this world, the Head Pixie is a figurehead whose duty is to reproduce for the sake of the colony and do nothing else, and he’s bored out of his mind until he befriends Sanderson, who introduces him to music. It’s extremely self-indulgent and silly because I like Pixies.

Francis is a multi-chapter ‘fic about bully Francis’s life getting yet another fairy godparent in a long string of memory wipes and godparents. It takes place during the canon series, and when you see an “orange fairy” mentioned in some of my writings, it’s usually referring to this fairy. His name is Rover and I occasionally post art of him. I feel like I can’t truly call myself an FOP fanfic writer until I actually write about a godkid and their godparents, haha...

Hawthorn Haven is a side ‘fic that will be posted towards the end of the 130 Prompts, as it veers off from the prompts in its own self-contained multi-chapter story. It will be approximately the length of “Baby, You’re a Rich Man.”

Acacia Arcadia is a far-past ‘fic detailing the fall of the ancient fae, the imprisonment of the nature spirits, the rise and fall of the chimera nation, the fall of the Martian genies, and the early days of the cloudlands. This is close to the bottom of the priority pile... It’s something I spend time on for personal reference to ensure accuracy in my other ‘fics, but it’s probably not what you guys came here to read.

AA has a bunch of characters in it that you might vaguely recognize, such as Ezekiel Whimsifinado, Evadne, Ione, Two Feathers, Rho, and Sablewood (If you’re astute, you might recall cloudland legends and landmarks in modern day that refer back to these characters). There are also a lot of characters who were reincarnated as Anti-Fairies, in accordance to traditional Anti-Fairy beliefs; Foop for example exists as a main character in one of his past lives, and you’ll see a hint dropped about each of his lives in the first chapter of Identity Theft. My tentative plan is to use Foop’s past lives as my central characters, following the events of each part of the timeline until he gets killed and reincarnates at a later point of the timeline.

I also keep some one-shots in a file I call Mixed Nuts and I may possibly post them someday (they’re mostly just one-shots of main cast characters I do to get a feel for their personalities, I have some Wanda and Cupid in here). @zachbrightside and I are also working on a collab ‘fic called Like a House On Fire that shows more of Timmy and Chloe’s lives during Season 10 (especially around the time of “Which Is Wish?”) No news on a release date for that yet.

As I’ve said before, once all my other FOP works are complete, I will write Devil’s Backbone, which is my far-future ‘fic and the finale of my FOP writing. I do not plan to write any more FOP content after that story is finished, as I expect to have all other FOP projects done by then.

- Devil’s Backbone is a finale 'fic, so all worldbuilding from all stories is fair game to blend together, and it’s highly recommended you read everything else first. This story has been outlined since 2016, and it might not be published for another 10 years... Who knows! But it’s something I always work towards as a concrete endgame goal.

- If something serious comes up in my life and I officially decide I don’t want to write this story, I will post the outline for it. The link to this draft is included with all the other Google Docs links I have in a far-future queued post unveiling my WIPs in case I unexpectedly die and you still want to know how my stories would have gone, so you’ll get access to this story eventually even if I die young. What is the plan for the main blog?

Every Friday, I will post either a fanfic chapter or a progress update. You can blacklist the tag “ridlife” if you do not want to see the progress updates on your dashboard. Fanfic updates will not have the “ridlife” tag, so you will not be blocking them.

What does this mean for the Riddledeep sideblog?

I really want to go back and edit those character profiles that were posted early by mistake. The reason they were queued is because if I turned them into drafts, they would have been buried all the way at the beginning of my draft collection, and I have many, many drafts saved. There are no page numbers to navigate quickly through the draft collection, so I would have to click through each page one by one if I ever wanted to look at them. I hated doing this, which is why I kept my posts queued.

I was regularly updating the queue deadlines, trying to keep things in the order I wanted to post them in, but Tumblr made a change to the way drafts are dated and it kept throwing off my system. My inability to remember when my queued things would post combined with my busy schedule led to some profiles being posted early and incomplete. I want to fix these.

Over a year ago, my good friend Vulpix150 helped me finalize my designs for the Aos Sí and Daoine Sith. I’ve been sitting on that art in secret for a while, and at some point I plan to post it on the sideblog and talk more about that lore.

Updating fanfics is my higher priority (and it was the priority my followers voted for when I asked you to send votes to my Ask Box a while back). So, I will usually spend my free time working on fanfics unless I need a break from them and want to work on sideblog profiles instead. Thank you for your patience!

TL;DR

I’m posting fanfics again soon. I’m going to take a more relaxed approach to posting them. I’m going to post more of what I want to post and what I feel motivated to post, not always a main ‘fic update. If I’m not “feeling it” when working on a draft, then I’ll set it aside for a while unless I know my followers and readers have high interest in the next chapter of that story. I always write for me first, but if I know there are other people who care a lot about a story, then of course I want to write it for you too!

I’m going to embrace my decade-long love for WordGirl and post more ‘fics and art or this fandom. I’ve always been a little shy about doing this, but I’m ready to make it an official fandom on my main blog (unless there are lots of requests for WordGirl things to be contained in their own sideblog). I will be posting the first chapter for a ‘fic called Factor It In very soon. Love my easily frustrated alien kiddos having a long day.

I am working on Creature-Crossing stuff too, and will be especially busy in November and December. Updates will be slow for a few months, but I hope to find my groove and a good pace soon.

Each Friday, I will post either a fanfic update or a mention of what I am working on. I will be checking in on Tumblr regularly. Feel free to talk! I much prefer you send messages to my Ask Box, not my private messenger, please <3

Is there a specific story of mine you like and want more updates for?

Asks and reviews help me know which ‘fics people are enjoying. I plan to keep writing ‘fics no matter what, but I definitely give more time to the ‘fics that get more attention (and I have been spending so much time writing for Creature-Crossing because that’s where the attention was coming from)

It’s easy to stay motivated and get the next part of a story out soon if I know that people like it. It’s always harder if you feel like people are silently judging you and ignoring your posts. Mike aka captainpoe is talking shit about me so let me get things straight.

He’s gonna do screenshots of what will makes him look like the victim, like he always does so you will have to believe me on my words (since I coun’t found our conversations by pm) but most people who know me or I've been following me for a long time know that I usually stay out of the drama. Big thanks to my friends for telling me what he was doing behind my back like the adult he is.

3 years ago Mike started following me, I was back then a small blog and I thought “wow a big blog is following me!”

He started to talk me and really fast told me to send him my edits by messages and I did! he also reblogged me on his mcu blog (and his sw blog too... I think).

I was really stressed with a big exam around July and I became obsess with EVERYTHING, I was a true pain in the ass to everyone. I’m not gonna lie. So yeah I also became obsess with my Tumblr notes, I did gifs to relax but it was not working very well back then. my behavior was childish and I apologized to him after! 

(He accused me of wanting to be reblogged on his sideblogs, it’s true, but it’s natural to me to reblog everything that people send me or tag me in on my sideblogs, I sincerely don’t understand people problem with reblogging on sideblogs things ).

When he got harassed on here, more like called out (it was actually around the same time I was a dick)  he asked me to take his defense and to reblog a post he made, he was basically whining about how he was the victim and never harassed anyone, he sent me messaged telling me that he was a married man in florida and never did anything against the once upon a time fandom, wasn’t homophobic and meh meh meh... Back then I believed him because he was the nice guy who was helping me getting notes in the MCU fandom. He used me, after talking to other members I realized that I wasn’t alone. 

I WANT TO APOLOGIES TO THE POEPLE I DIDN’T BELIEVED BACK THEN. I KNOW WHO HE IS NOW. 

He started being aggressive but nothing worriedly when TLJ came around, it was a real little thing but I wasn't shipping Rey x poe and I felt like it was problem for him that I wasn’t shipping them. I didn't thought too much about it but still, it left a bad taste in my mouth, I wasn’t talking a lot to him after that.

When I had problems and got hate on my blog he didn't do shit to help me. 

I was still sending me my edits because... Notes. I can’t lie about that, like every  creators here I want my edits to get notes. 

I think we haven’t talked for a verrrry long time, I was sending my edits that’s it. 

Last year he asked me to join my GOT blog, after all the reblog he did for me I thought It would be really bitchy to me to not add him as a member. But I also noted that it was funny how he joined both the B99 and the GOT fandom once he realized that it was very popular. 

He did edits on the blog so no problem at all, until s8 ended. I’m like everybody, I hated that season but when someone join my sideblogs, especially my got one, I am very clear about the no hate rule (I had problems with that on this blog before). But he thought that since he was popular he could do what he wanted, I deleted the two first he reblogged, one of them was calling people to harass D&D and I hate what they did but as someone who has been victim of bullying at school and still suffer from that I was disgusted by what he posted but I haven’t told him anything since he’s really popular and I didn’t want to create any drama... I have a life so I  finally forgot about it. 

My laptop broke and gosh, I really understood who he was at that moment! I sent a messages to all the members of my sideblogs asking them to keep the blogs active while I can’t, normal stuff for an admin. I had my tablet with no photoshop... spidey got “fired” and like a lot of other people I thought about that scene in iw where Tony told him “you’re an avenger now”, lucky me I have already made that gifset before so I took my tablet and just reposted my own gifset, it took me so long because I had to convert it back to gif format because of Tumblr... Anyway, later he sent me a message accusing me of having copied him and I haven’t seen his gifset so told him exactly that. He then accused me of doing that ALL THE TIME with endgame and I told him “listen bro we’re both using the same 30 seconds YouTube clips that marvel gave us”, like 20 other people (they were not a lot of people because that channel was weirdly unknown), it’s true that I was doing them after him but it’s just because I have a life and cannot always do gif, I make them when I have time. He also basically told me that I must be rich for having replaced my laptop that fast, I haven’t, I was using my tablet but even if I did replace my laptop, mêle toi de ton cul ( I have no English expression coming to me ).

I really understood who he was then. 

He totally stopped making edits for my got blog, because it stopped trending so it wasn’t interesting him anymore. 

a few months past and I think the only thing he told me is that he was scared of clowns... Literally. 

And then the BIG ONE, I know he was a douche but omg. Mike asked me to reblog ALL his posts on a sideblog I'm only a member of. He told me that the admin have blocked him because she was shipping reylo and well reylos hate him because he’s posting shit on them , they were a huge misunderstanding then (because i’m French and I may not have explained myself right) , I told him that I wouldn’t reblog him if the admin didn’t want to see his posts on the blog, he was blocked! and I was, at the same time, talking to another member of this blog who is a close friend of the admin and she agreed with me. he was very insisting and I told him that the admin was checking what we add to the queue and would certainly delete his posts, it was the big misunderstanding that could have hurt the admin of the blog, I just meant I know she checks what’s happening because she told me when I don’t tag a post with the right tags, it’s just what a good admin (unlike myself) does. I also told him that it was a new blog with “only” 14k followers, he must have something like 50K followers sooooo, and that his edits were getting 100K notes, more than anybody here. He became... I have no words to describe that. He told me that it was a dictatorship if I couldn’t reblog what I wanted, and that I should leave the blog, I stopped answering pretty fast after that. 

 In our last conversation I was vulgar. (it’s in the post he sent to my friends), he really need to get over it, I’m French and from Normandie : I am vulgar! wtf. It’s also the last thing he ever posted on my game of thrones blog. It was a Sunday either two days after after the last star wars movie came out or ten days ( I don’t remember if he waited a week or not) but he reblogged a text post from his blog sending hate toward the writers of both got and sw and spoiled the entire Star Wars movie on my game of thrones blog, which was “the drop of water that caused the vase to bleed” like annoy me all you want but when people goes on my got blog they don’t want to be spoiled, it was so rude and mean and that post had nothing to do there and it was at least the third time so I told him to “fucking stop” and since mr thinks he is the king he went all “you can’t talk to me like that” “I'm an adult” meh meh meh. I told him to never go in France ‘cause he wouldn't like us. And it was the last time we spoke.  Nothing to do directly with me but I would never do what he does to get notes, that man he’s ready to use any big events such as pride or women’s day to get notes. I do make edits for those events too but I'm actually a bisexual woman and not an heterosexual man and I really don’t think he’s doing those edits to show his support to those movements but just to get notes, this year he did the same thing with blm movement I thought it was disrespectful at best, he even made the famous “I we burn you burn with us” gifset  from the movie and no, just stop dude.  Making that gifset of Naya before she was even found was awful, a lot of people are doing gifs to feel better about things but I don’t think it would have came to anybody else mind to have it ready in their draft. It actually make me think of myself because after they died I made a gifset of Carrie Fisher and Stan Lee  and in my head  it was a tribute but now that I think back about it I wouldn’t make gifset when people dies anymore, I said it once again but in my head it was a tribute to those wonderful people life and work.  I did to feel people and myself a little better in those situations but it didn’t makes me feel better. I thought about it even more, especially for Carrie, because I couldn’t stop thinking about Billie and losing my mom is the worst thing that could happen to me. You can say that, at the end, Mike makes me realize something. 

He has been calling out for his behavior but instead of facing it like an adult he just want to take people down instead of him, I'm one of them and I certainly won’t be the only one.  it’s someone who doesn’t know how to face the consequences of his behavior and still think he’s untouchable, me and one of my friend said that he thought he was the king of Tumblr and I sincerely think that in his head he is.

My main is DruidX, which has been my handle on nearly every single platform ever since.... well, since the World Wide Web became a feasible thing to have in one’s home ^.^; Because this is the blog to which all other random interesting things are thrown, I thought I’d keep in theme with “Dru reblogs stuff”, for I am Dru... and I am reblogging stuff XD

2. Any sideblogs? If you have them name them and why you have them?

Technically @/dru-reblogs-stuff is a sideblog already. It gets more personal stuff, and also everything I like that’s interesting to me. I keep thinking I should narrow it down further though, and make seperate fashion & star wars blogs, because I rb that stuff on the regular...

@/druidx is my main, and is my Writeblr blog, for, well, all my writing, other people’s writing, and writing related advice/ resources.

@/dru-plays-starbound is the blog I used to rb Starbound stuff, and also post my starbound builds to. I haven’t updated it in a while, thought there’s lots of stuff still to post... I just haven’t had the inclination to fight with a graphics program and screenshots.

@/nine-blessed-hero breaks my naming scheme sadly, but this is now my dedicated Elder Scrolls blog, for art and fanfic. It’s also not as well kept as I would like it to be (I’ve got 600 items in draft to read though and comment on, so it’s slow going).

Finally there is the essentially abandoned @/things-my-rm-says-to-her-lego. This started as an out-of-context quote blog for things my roommate muttered while sorting/ building the old Lego her parents dropped off ~October 2020. I have no idea what to do with it now said roommate is no longer saying strange things to her Lego...

I’ve just passed my one year anniversary, 18 May -- or at least, the anniversary of my first post which I’m sure was made only a week or so after I joined. Basically I joined up not long after the Lockdown was made official in the UK.

Yes! It’s just “q”, because I am both lazy and basic.

5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?

As mentioned above, I joined not long after the Lockdown was made official in the UK. Because I had more time, I was looking back at old works and wanting both to share them and to get advice on how to get better. I’d heard somewhere that Tumblr was to writing as DeviantArt is to art, so I figured I may as well join and see what I could get out of the experience. Again, because I suddenly had more time, I bought TESIV: Oblivion on Steam and started to get into TESblr as well as Writeblr (which incidentally, is how I met the wonderful Corky ^.^). 

6. Why did you choose your icon?

I wanted something that reflected my interests (boy do I love Tea :D), but also wasn’t fussy, so I found a site filled with free SVG icons and picked this one out. I’ve had a lot of complements on it, so clearly it was a good choice ^.^ I’ve tried to keep the theme of teapots over all my blogs.

7. Why did you choose your header?

I don’t think any of my blogs have a header because I just couldn’t find anything I liked?

Across them all, it’s a “Last Line Tag” game one, posted Sep 22 2020 with 328 notes.

I think someone tried to insinuate I’d offended them once, but they hid in the tags and I could never work out if it was my tags they were arguing against, or the post in general (it was a rb). But generally no; I’m Internet Old and just done with the Drama so I don’t engage.

They can jog on. If I think it’s important, then I will chose to rb it, but telling me I’m a horrible person if I don’t? That’s a surefire way to ensure I dislike you and your cause, and will ignore you out of spite.

Gen 3 Retrospective

I go by the name of Kit from @simmancy​. It’s been a long time coming, but we here now… And I pretty much set this story on fire, huh?

That’s about where the 2ne1 reference stops, and the actually talking starts. 

It’s 13 July 2020 and I’m deleting the first version of this to write a new one. I hope it makes sense because I wrote it at like. 1 AM on a work night.

Okay so... That was a pretty wild ride, huh?

It’s been three long, trying, emotional, honestly sometimes painful years since I started down this story’s road. Gen 1 was sweetness and simplicity. Gen 2 was when I started getting creative and interested, and testing the limits of what I thought I could do with storytelling and editing. 

And Gen 3…. Gen 3 is honestly the most I’ve ever put into a story, probably in my life. There’s so much I wish I could say and share, but as everyone keeps reminding me, and I will remind you… You don’t owe anyone an explanation for your story. And that’s true! I don’t! My problem is that I do like giving them though. I like knowing a creator’s process, I like seeing how things were conceptualized. I’m trying to decide which parts are worth telling here, and I’ve written and rewritten this multiple times but I keep coming back to a Halsey quote of all things…

“I shared a lot about myself, assuming the world would be kind. That wasn’t quite the case.”

And the truth is, a lot of what went into Gen 3 originated in my personal history. It’s very easy for me to get defensive of it, and try to protect myself as well! Simblr in particular is really just throwing your shitty first draft out in the wind and letting people read it, and there’s no telling if they will love it or tear it apart. Despite a few bumps, I’ve been extremely, extraordinarily lucky. I’m still flummoxed that anyone reads this. I think it’s wild people follow this sideblog at all: I purposefully put it out of the way and didn’t tag it “properly” for simblr to find it, beyond the initial post that it was happening. It was deliberate--I made it a deliberate choice to come read this story, and it’s a choice you made by coming here.

So… yes, to answer the question most people HAVE asked me, doing this has been incredibly nerve-wracking and wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t super felt like it needed to get done and I wouldn’t stop until it did. I guess you can thank me being Like That for it even being done at all. I guess I can say I’m relieved and excited that it’s finally DONE, and I feel like I can move on to Gen 4 with my head held high.

Also that I kept all the important parts I knew would always happen--the Saddy breakup, the Ojaddy confession, the KOJ debacle and everything at the end... Almost just as I envisioned it back in November 2017. Yeah. NEARLY THREE YEARS. We took our SWEET TIME GETTING HERE.

MORE IMPORTANTLY, NOW THAT IT’S DONE.... I have a few words... 

to my friends, past and present, who knew more of finer details and blessedly kept it under wraps for so long, even when I basically dropped the story out of spite and fear and self-hatred: thank you for not telling the end!! I appreciate it so much!!

2. On OCs.

I have met so many fantastic OCs since I started RPing, all the way back from my teens, before Tumblr. But it remains difficult to get threads going for OCs compared to canons, and I deeply appreciate the people who have shown interest in mine.If I had to say one thing about them, however, to the RPC at large....let’s maybe try to use older face claims a little more? Maybe? Especially for women? Yes? Please??

Giving OCs a fair chance is something I always try to do. Sometimes you’re not gonna vibe or you won’t be able to think of a way for your muses to interact with them, and that’s fine, but they should never be written off immediately just for not being canon!

Honestly, I think about adding new OCs or bringing in old ones all the time, but there’s always a risk they’ll go ignored or overlooked. Plus I have 21 muses right now and I think that’s enough. Which leads me neatly onto....

17. On multi-muse blogs.

I noticed a distinct drop in interaction when I moved from a single blog to a multi blog, OOC and IC both. It was a bummer. It still is a bummer, and I feel like I have to do a lot of chasing to get things going nowadays. Partly I think that’s a problem with the RPC at large, but...no matter how many times I’ve thought about going back to single muse blogs just to get some better engagement, I don’t think?? I can ever go back??

There’s so much freedom to a multi muse and I’ve always been a character slut, I can’t help myself. If one of my muses goes AWOL, I still have plenty of others available and I can work on other threads and still be active without feeling guilty that my blog is dormant. I get to play a bunch of characters that I love without having to hop around sideblogs, or repeatedly log in, log out.

I think multi blogs still get a bad rap, but I also have three big pieces of advice for running one, feel free to ignore it if you wish, but it’s made things a LOT better for me. You’re probably not gonna like it though.

You’re better off being organised. You need to have clear muse pages, you need to have bios, you need to have links where people can find them. Because people get switched off straight away if you don’t. This is true of single muse blogs too, but multis tend to be worse because we have more muses. 

You’re better off drawing the line at how many muses you write. I know how much you want them all, I know, I know. But for your own sanity. I promise you. Less is more.

Similarly, you’re better off being selective about your muses. I’ve cycled through a bunch of muses who I added on a whim because I couldn’t get them out of my head. Then they ended up being removed because they had no interaction or because I lost the buzz I had for them, or realised I didn’t enjoy writing them as much as I thought I would. That could just be a me thing, but eventually you have to learn to resist, for the same reason as above- your own sanity. It also makes blog maintenance a lot easier!

If you find temptation very difficult, I recommend writing out a muse bio or headcanons or reblogging stuff with their face claim straight into your drafts. Think of a new muse like a tattoo. If you still can’t stop thinking about that particular muse after a few months, then you’re probably going to write them regularly and have fun with it. If you stop thinking about them after a week you know it was just a spur of the moment desire.

Obviously nobody has to listen to any of this and you can do whatever you want on your own blog. I’m just saying these things have made my life easier and my blog easier to run.

“I can’t believe I finally got you, how incredible is that?” With human!Deceit and tiny!Virgil?

Warnings: Cages, treating a person as a pet, depression

Virgil was quiet as he was roughly transferred from the pen at the back of the pet store to a portable carrier. He didn’t bother shouting or trying to run, he’d tried all that before and it never worked. He stayed silent as he was run up at the register, kept his mouth closed as the woman behind the counter tried to convince his buyer to pick one of the other tinies from the front of the store.

“Really, are you sure about this one? We have this lovely, lively little fellow over here that I think would be just–”

“Thank you, ma’am, but that won’t be necessary,” the man interrupted with a silky smooth voice, holding up a gloved hand to quiet her protests. “I’m sure this one will do just nicely.”

The woman shrugged, before dutifully informing him of their thirty day return policy and handing over his receipt.

Thirty days.

Had Virgil ever even lasted a whole month with a human? No, he was pretty sure his record with a human was about three weeks before he’d been sent back. It was always the same complaint; he was too boring, too lifeless, to depressing. Nobody wanted a pet that would curl up and lie still in the corner of a cage, refusing to engage with its owner.

Whatever.

It didn’t matter to Virgil one way or another. Whether he wasted away in the back of a pet store or wasted away in the corner of some human’s living room, either way he was going to die alone in a cage.

A car door slammed, and Virgil jumped, realizing that his carrier had been set down on the passenger seat of the human’s car. The man fastened a strap over the carrier, buckling it in place before settling into his own seat and starting the car.

Virgil sighed, and leaned back, closing his eyes. Maybe he could catch a quick nap before he had to endure this new human going through the typical poking and prodding stage that every human apparently had to get out of their system when they first bought a tiny.

“Phew!” the man said suddenly, and Virgil winced at the loudness of his voice. Or maybe, sleep had been too much to hope for. “She totally wanted me to take you home, didn’t she?”

Virgil opened his eyes and peered up at the human who had bought him. The man’s eyes were on the road, but when the car came to a stop at a red light, he glanced down at Virgil and smirked. Virgil realized with a start that the man’s eyes were mismatched, one brown, one blue, and he found himself staring despite himself.

The man raised an eyebrow when he saw where Virgil’s attention was, and Virgil quickly looked away, not wanting to anger him.

“It’s called heterochromia.”

“Huh?” Virgil glanced back up, but the human’s eyes were on the road again as he continued.

“When your eyes are two different colors, like mine.”

“Oh.”

“But yeah, sorry about that lady, she sounds like she was a real treat to have as a caretaker.”

The man shook his head, annoyance clear in his voice, and Virgil frowned. Why did this human care so much about how nice the pet store employees were?

“Between that absolute peach of a worker and the fact that it’s way more difficult than you’d think to track down one specific borrower, I can’t believe I finally got you. How incredible is that?”

Virgil snapped his head up, his eyes wide.

“Did…did you say…borrower?” he asked. Distantly, he was aware that that was the longest sentence he’d said to a human since he first had been caught, but he was too distracted by the fact that this human had just called him a borrower. How long had it been since he’d been called what he actually was? It must have been…

“I’m sure you haven’t heard yourself be called that since you were initially captured,” the human continued. “But rest assured, Virgil, where we’re going, you won’t have to worry about being called a ‘tiny’ anymore.”

Virgil hadn’t thought it was possible for him to be anymore surprised after hearing a human call him a borrower, but the instant that his name crossed the human’s lips, he was proven wrong. All the other humans had tried to give him a name, and not ONCE had he ever been asked what he’d like to be called. 

“How…how did you know my name?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, and the man smacked himself on the forehead. 

“Dammit, Dee, you’ve done it again,” he muttered, before glancing down at Virgil with a sheepish expression. “Well, I was planning to ease into this topic a little more delicately, but I didn’t pick you out of that pet store randomly, Virgil. I’ve been looking for you in particular, for some time now.” 

“I…why?” Virgil asked, bewildered, and the man, Dee, sighed again. 

“Well, if I gave you all the reasons, we’d be driving all night, but here’s the short version. My best friend, Thomas, he has a big house out in the country that his Aunt Patty left to him. He discovered a couple of wild-born tinies out there, or borrowers, as we found out you’re actually called. He became friends with them, and they opened his eyes to a lot of the injustice that goes on in the Tiny Industries. He decided he’d put all that space out there to good use, and he built a little sanctuary for borrowers. It’s been running for about three years now, and we have half a dozen or so borrowers living out there that were rescued from the pet trade.” 

 “Okay…” Virgil said slowly, trying to keep up with what Dee was saying. It made sense, he supposed, though he’d never imagined a human would decide to take a borrower’s side on anything, let alone build an entire habitat for them. “So…what does that have to do with me?” 

Dee smiled at him, and raised an eyebrow. 

“One of those borrowers is Patton.” 

Virgil sat up in an instant, leaning forward with wide eyes. 

“You’re serious?” he asked, and Dee chuckled. 

“See for yourself,” he said, putting the car into park. “We’re here.” 

He got out of his seat, then came around to pull Virgil’s carrier out. Through the wire bars, Virgil could see fields that stretched out into rolling hills in every direction, what looked like fruit trees in the distance, and the reflection of sunlight off a pond. 

All of that was just the background though, for the big, three story farmhouse that Dee had parked his car in front of. A human was standing on the front porch, and from what Virgil could see of his face, he was smiling. 

“Dee!” the man called, and his voice was bright and full of energy. “Did you find him?” 

“Yeah, Thomas,” Dee said with a grin, holding up Virgil’s carrier a little higher. “I found him”

Thomas clapped his hands, then did something that Virgil thought was strange: he held one hand over to his shoulder, palm facing upward. It didn’t make any sense at first…until they got a little closer and Virgil realized with a gasp that a borrower had been perched on Thomas’s shoulder and was now sitting cross-legged on the human’s open palm. 

Thomas let the borrower off to stand on the porch railing, and tears sprung to Virgil’s eyes as he recognized his older brother. He hadn’t seen Patton since the two of them had been captured nearly two years ago, and had long since given up hope of ever seeing his brother again.

Dee set the carrier on the porch railing and had barely flipped open the door before Patton was rushing forward, tears in his eyes and arms outstretched. Virgil took the last few steps to meet him, catching his brother in what had to be the best hug he’d ever had in his life. 

Patton was crying into his shoulder, gripping Virgil so tightly it almost hurt, but Virgil didn’t mind. His own hold on Patton was just as tight, the fear that this was all some impossible dream hovering at the back of his mind. 

If this was a dream, it was one Virgil never wanted to wake up from. 

Eventually, Patton pulled himself away, cupping Virgil’s face in his hands and scanning it, eyes wide and shiny with tears. 

“You’re here,” he finally whispered, his voice breathless with wonder. “You’re really here.” 

He pulled Virgil close again, and Virgil smiled as he buried his face in Patton’s shoulder. 

“Yeah, Pat,” he mumbled back. “I’m here.”

Thomas and Dee watched fondly as the two borrowers reunited, then Thomas turned to Dee. 

“You might want to visit the family room, Roman kept insisting I tell him when you got back.” 

Dee rolled his eyes before shaking his head. 

“He probably has a seventeenth draft of that script of his to show me. Alright then, I’ll catch you guys later.” 

Thomas waved at him as he headed inside the house, then turned his attention back to the borrowers, who were still locked in an embrace. He smiled, and whispered,

“Welcome to the Sanders Sanctuary for Borrowers, Virgil.”

Blogs update

Hello~!

As some of you know November-December was really hard on me, it’s been better after the new year though it took last week and having monday to friday free to myself to feel like I’ve gotten real recovery energy. I’ve been productive for two days straight in the first few days of January too, so a boost for my mood, but energy consuming which is why it left me on a more relaxed pattern for days after.

So while I’m starting to feel better and to roll back into productive cycles, I feel I need to take it easy, and lower my intentions of activity from now.

In practice, this will mean:

++ sozotohakai remains my main rp blog, however consider it in semi-active state.

Activity is to be non-regular, if you feel you can’t handle the irregular way I can reply (take a few days to a few weeks), feel free to let me know you want to stop. Otherwise, do know I save in my drafts replies, and reply to them when I feel the muse for your thread. It is near impossible for me to miss a reply, as I check my dash for all new posts (which is why I keep it slow enough for my taste), so even if activity derps, I’ll see it myself. AKA: you can be certain your reply is in my draft, and be assured that I’ll work on it sooner or later.

(Memes&asks, I’ll make a thread if my muse want to add something, if you want to continue I’m all good, and if you don’t it’s all good too!)

There is no telling what I’ll have the muse for, and except rare case of high energy, I generally can’t write more than two to three replies when I manage to write. This is why you tend to see only one or two replies be sent out, and why speed can vary, as even if I end up writing replies after a few days, it might not be yours.

(I do mean to try putting in queue more often, so it can space out too).

++ millenniumpatriarch remains my secondary rp blog, semi-active too as while I don’t have as much going on as Allen, the muse is new still to me. However, on the plus side, it’s easier to get replies out since I don’t have as many to get out and so yours will tend to come “quicker”.

+ lostrecordsofwhite is to be half-closed. I still feel I want to work on having infos up, but for now, I won’t rp on there, and will work on adding infos when I feel like. Exception is the Deity AU, I’ll decide later if I add it to sozotohakai (the verse page is meant to reworked anyway), or keep it on lostrecordsofwhite (and have it the only rp verse/the only real activity).

+ choruscaelum is to be half-closed or, in fact, mostly closed. I feel like I’m probably “holding on” rather than genuinely feeling the muses, I haven’t rped there in a while and it’s mostly now that I’m saying “yeah, I won’t be rping there for now”. I do want, however, to put up infos&pages, which I’ll just work on whenever I feel like it.

+ arynladyofice is still a little bit “to decide” but I feel like I might add her to the multi-muse, and thus probably me the “main muse” there. I love her and I know that’s one muse that still sticks around, but at the same time, I don’t feel much urge anymore to try having her active (which is likely because I don’t have the energy to spare). Adding her to the multi feels like the best, and it feels like it will help my mind. Although I’m not sure how active she would be, but at least, she might feel better place for my own mind.

+++ I’m working on a sideblog to millenniumpatriarch, which was made a sideblog here (as opposed to a main account) to keep together blogs in the same fandom. So yes, this sideblog is for a MDZS blog, which will be half-info half-ask blog, and be open to rp threads. I kind of want to have more of it be set up before I share it though, but worry not, I’ll make a post (and edit this post) when it’s out.

Thank you for the patience, I’ll understand if you come and tell me hey, I think I prefer if we stop/drop our thing (and I’ll come tell you if I see a draft for us and I really feel I won’t be able to write for it), and otherwise I’ll be happy to continue, just be aware that, as I often say, my activity is fickle. Which has a lot to do with how my work is also to write and be creative so! Gotta manage better my creative juices and priorities!
