Each of the new younger female characters in Threads of Power is a fan of the original Antari trio and I think it's funny and could also be foreshadowing, I don't know Kosika admires Holland and she is dedicating her life to accomplishing what he couldn't do. Tes' owl has a black eye and a blue eye and is called Vares after Kell. Ren is enamored with how Lila uses her magic and seems to hang on her every word.

Firstly seeing my babies after 6 years was so emotional omg i missed them all so much !!!

Lila naming the Alucard's ship after Barron???? kill me she's a little softie inside

Kell not being able to do magic was like HELL like i felt his pain so deeply my precious gum drop :(

The montage of him learning to fight with the swords was top tier though !

Lila going to find Kell at night when he passes out in his room at the palace and crawling into bed beside him??? Top tier ship let me tell you.

Kosika while i do like her, i felt her chapters were a little bit repetitive and kinda dragged a little for me in the middle, but the ending in black london..... my god

GHOST/SPIRIT HOLLAND???? I missed my husband so much like please i'm being tortured. He's there but he's not because they say it's him but something is definitely off there too???

Also i relate heavily to kosika because i too would do whatever Holland asked me too and worship him as a saint

I adore the whole dynamic between Rhy, Alucard and Nadiya i think it was so tastefully done and though i find Nadiya to be a little shady i like her whole inventor thing and i appreciate her loyalty towards her family

The fact that she's named Tieren and the way she adores animals and has a billion random pets, and the way she is fascinated by Lila and oblivious to any awkwardness Lila has around her. Just wonderful. Such a little sweetheart. If anything happens to her i will be banging on ms schwab's door !

Tes. I love her. I don't even know what else to say. I think she's brilliant. Her chapters were so entertaining to read. Her back story was intriguing. Her gift is so special. Her interactions with Lila were top tier and i definitely need them to work together again !

Delilah Bard. My wife!!! What can i say. She's a fucking icon. A legend. Never fails to disappoint.

Spoilers for Fragile Threads of Power!!!

I just finished reading and I have some thoughts and predictions about a certain character...

Major spoilers below!

Am I the only one who's not convinced that Kosika's Holland is, well, actually Holland?

When Holland dies at the end of ACOL, his hair is white and both his eyes are green.

Kosika's Holland has white hair, but still has the black Antari eye.

That makes sense if he's a figment of her imagination, because she wouldn't have known that his eye had changed, and that's how she would have pictured him. But if it were actually Holland from beyond the grave, he wouldn't have the black eye.

In ADSOM, if I remember correctly, Kell mentions that it would be easy to enter Black London, but likely impossible to leave, since the walls were designed to contain Black London, not to keep people out. Holland, I think, was only able to leave (in AGOS) because Osaron was lending him power. And yet, Kosika returns to White London without difficulty.

I think that Kosika did bring something back from Black London, and it's masquerading as Holland; adopting the appearance she would expect from her Saint, and manipulating her into rekindling the flame in Black London, which will instigate the main conflict for the remaining books in the series.

Halfbaked Threads of Power theories, after a first read:

I have a feeling Nero is related to Ezril Nasaro, the new High Priest. Maybe son of Mirella Nasaro? Alucard seemed to recognise him somewhat.

I think the leader of the Hand, the Master of the Veil, might be Hok, the veskan prince, who is staying at the Sanctuary in the hands of Ezriel, one of the traitors.

Another theory I happened upon is that White London might be sapping magic from Red London, not necessarily with their blood rituals, considering this phenomenon started years before Kosika came on the throne, hence the loss of magic in Red London. It seems to me that Black London was originally the source fueling itself and the rest of the Londons with magic, and since its sealing, and the sealing of Osaron 7 years ago, magic is in finite supply.

Something seems frankly off about Holland to me. I can't really put my finger on it, but I just have a feeling that Holland might not be Holland ? These dreams of him and his subsequent apparition, only started after the accidental trip to Black London. I just have a really weird feeling about this.

imogen fumbling shit is just eternally good fodder for memes, alright. and its at least partly BECAUSE of how powerful she is. someone tripping while using a nerf gun? funny. someone dramatically hoisting up an outfit matchin heavy death laser gun and then immediately tripping and landing on their face? phenom. sometimes she goes "GROVEL" and the enemies grovel and we all go "oooooh" and "aaaahhh" and sometimes she just gets fully ignored and gets so huffy and petulant and ineffectually burns a cantrip just to be petty about it. sometimes she smites her enemies into dust with one move and renders a tree in half after threatening and other times she fucking. falls down a flight of stairs and accidentally sets everything on fire. fires a gun at her own team. loses all her hair. turns blue. etc.

Imogen lifts a humongous sand squid into the sky with her mind powers. Imogen is also falling out of a sky ship and landing on the desert sand far below and just. lying there. while her friend plays the flute in the background. epic hot failgirls NEED the HEIGHT to FAIL FROM. u gotta swing and miss sometimes!!! AND you gotta be REAL petty about it when u miss!!!! fucking fantastic.

⚠️ Threads of Power minor SPOILERS⚠️

Love the idea of the Setting Sun as Kell and Lila's fixed point but also safe space to themselves but also, a place that feels like home. That's the place where their story began in adsom. It's also where their personal stories also converged, interlaced, mingled.

In adsom, Lila is a thief and she is wanted in Grey London because of her petty thefts. In Red London, Kell is also a thief of artifacts from other worlds and at some point, he's also wanted because he disappeared for too long. In Grey London, Lila stays at the Stones' Throw which is her hiding/safe space, while Kell keeps his stolen objects at the Setting Sun and to him, his room is also a place where he can find respite.

These two places (along with the Scorched Bone in White London) are in the exact same place despite being a world apart. Kell calls them the "fixed points" and it's amusing how, when he and Lila come back to Red London for their task in top, they stay in a room together exactly there instead of say, the ship or the palace. The place has a new meaning after seven years: it is a reminder of their past (as individuals and as a couple), and their future
