fit stared as pac giggled, champagne-drunk, in his arms as he rambled on about a topic fit tuned out. to busy staring at the pretty pink flush that clung onto pac's cheeks, the way his dark-brown eyes sparkled gold in the firelight, the soft curve of his happy smile.

he could here with pac in his arms for the rest of his life and be content. love him for the rest of his life.

he shuffled pac's body to be closer to his. legs wrapped around each other, chests pressed together. pulling his head to nestle in the small of fit's throat. slowing raking his hand through pac's hair to lull him to sleep.

they fell asleep like that, intertwined with each other. sharing warmth and slow kisses. hands wrapped around their hearts ready to be buried into the others chest. one body, two hearts.

they woke up harshly to pointy elbows and sharp knees as their children climbed over them to settle in the middle of their warmth. smiling and giggling to themselves, happy with the outcome.

I keep re-reading cosmic tides because it's just so good, and I absolutely adore Mer aus!!! But every time I read it and see this piece specifically, i just explode with joy and giggles at just how cute and puppy eyed Sun is!!!!

I mean, he's just like a big puppy!!! And it's so darling and precious!!! I absolutely adore him with every fiber of my being!!!

I'm glad that ive learned how to push perspective a little further than I could a few years ago, i've always wanted it to be that nice low angle, but perspective is beyond me most of the time lol

pretty much all analysis naming Mel any kind of "flawed" character, villain, or as problematic in any way, is terrible analysis. which is a phenomenon that goes against all my instincts but it is so real all the energy and interest I possess leaves my body every time

the thing is, Mel is a hero, Mel's intentions in season 1 are not as pure as the driven snow, Mel benefited from class divide pre-canon and during canon, yet Mel would have benefited from war and colonialism pre-canon only for her to reject it, she is both noticeably "nice" to all the protagonists in season 2 and removed from most of the plot, she is so many things because of her story and because of her writers and (unfortunately) because of the fandom -

and these "nuanced" analyses of her flaws and negative impact on the narrative are worthless

i can't even explain it. i get one sentence in and it immediately sucks. doesn't matter how true or technically correct the words are. i would rather read my linear algebra textbook and make a fandom for eigenvectors than engage with any level of Mel "criticism" no matter how mild. it could be one sentence in an otherwise long and carefully thought-out essay and i will quit that thing faster than my anxiety medication makes me fall asleep

the fandom or the writers can call Mel a manipulator, a liar, a capitalist, a billionaire, a seductress, "benefiting from zaun just like all the privileged characters", "kind of mean that one time, she should've been more polite" - whatever anyone can dream up - as many times as they want, and it won't be anything the entire fandom hasn't seen approximately 1,000 times since 2021. and it won't be anything every person who consumes any kind of media hasn't seen approximately 10,000 times since we each took our first breath in this world - when that media has women in it

why push this same analysis over and over again. what do you get out of this. does it make everybody feel smart to point out the obvious without bothering to go even one level deeper. do you think it makes her character more interesting to equate well-recognized surface-level negative tropes with negative morality, even when all of those tropes are either actively subverted or massively outweighed by her true role in the story? (it doesn't.) no amount of pointing at and highlighting and underlining Mel's morality or lack thereof will make her any less of an interesting character worth loving and engaging with, and she is probably the most interesting character in the entire show even considering season 2. it won't make the other characters around her "better" by comparison either. nor will it make competing ships more compelling or more justified

Saw people get attacked for not wanting jaybin to be villainized I’m afraid we’re never getting a good Jason story he will never get to grow past that endless cycle of Batman and joker because of dc/batman fans and no writer is willing to take a risk and come up with something good when they all want their issues to sell therefore what’s popular will be the conon, man wish it was easier for me to lose interest 😭

Idk if that reassures you, but while Jason haters are many and very loud, he's also like, super popular (i think that's part of what gets the haters so mad lmao). I think Jason's biggest enemy wrt dc nowadays isn't the fandom (that may have been the case at the very beginning kinda naturally because people loved Dick and were so used to him). Mostly the issue with Jason is that the best written stories about him don't paint Bruce in a great light... But that's way more true about Red Hood than Jason. Mostly DC just needs to abandon this silly idea that victim-blaming Jason absolves Bruce of blame for his death (when it's pretty much the opposite) and we could totally have good Jaybin content. I don't trust DC as far as I can throw them, but to be honest, Jason's entire resurrection was due to a writer being very willing to take one very big risk and winning with an awesome big swing. In the meantime, may I encourage you to check out poisonivory's lost titans on ao3? We very rarely get canon adjacent / divergent plot fics to satiate our frustration with the lack of good stories (working on it 🫡), I really liked seeing Jason work with a team and seeing the focus on some less-known heroes, hopefully you'll like it!

what if your boys accidentally (or purposefully idk) make Y/N cry or make Y/N upset with them?

hmmm...

the fairy boys wouldn't intend to make the Gardener cry so it would likely be on accident, but if they did Sun would be extremely apologetic and Moon would be kind of embarrassed.

SK boys, if they make the Detective cry (which would honestly be a very hard thing to do) Sun would be beside himself if the Detective was upset with him. Moon, I think he'd be indifferent, depending on the reason.

Cosmic Tides, the mers would be concerned and likely not understand right away that something they did made the Noble upset or cry. But they would try to find a way to make up for it.

the Raggedy Bois, never! They would never do anything to make Y/N cry. They're too sweet. The only way it would be possible is if it's part of a game.

Royal Guards, I think the boys (Sun especially) would worry over whether this would strip them of their duties. Moon simply sees it as them being a brat who might've not gotten their way.

How do you think Tails would react if Sonic did a random nose book when he least expect it?

Ah, the lovable nose boops.

I can picture two different reactions he could have if Sonic decides to bestow the boops on him.

When he was at the little-y age, I think he would be confused as to why that it happened since Sonic would come up to him, look him dead in the eye and literally poke his nose while saying "boop!" on a random occurrence. Left him too stunned to speak.

It got to a point later where whenever Sonic did it, he change it up by including pulling a silly face, quickly swiping a finger under his chin and neck to get a smile outta him, or poke at random spots on his face and head to where he has the kid laughing and in a good mood, or a better mood if he was grouchy at the start.

When he's older, though, he's not as amused about it.

Let's just say the last time Sonic tried it, he nearly got his finger nipped off cause Tails was in a foul mood during the attempt, which is why Sonic did it in the first place, so it became a very rare occurrence.

Doesn't stop Sonic from trying again in the future. It still has an effect, which is why Tails doesn't want him doing it as often.
