Hi! I'm also having MXAO issues. So I have both MXAO and qUINT installed, and qUINT doesn't work at all, but sometimes MXAO does?? But then it randomly turns off. Have you encountered this before?
They aren’t compatible with each other without editing. I don’t know why they’re both included in the general download without explanation, but there we are.
If you only want to use one of them, simply delete the other from the shaders folder. If you want to use them both you’ll need to edit the MXAO shader to change its technique name in a few different places. It’s not difficult, you just have to search for the correct lines to edit.
I’ve done a tutorial before, but I might as well make this an updated one for 4.x
1. Open MXAO.fx in a text editor. I like to use Notepad++ because it sets everything out quite nicely for you.
2. Scroll all the way to the bottom to the section labelled Technique.
3. Find the line that says technique MXAO and change MXAO to something else. This might be MXAO2 or MyMXAO or whatever you want. For this tutorial I’ll use MXAO2.
Below are two screenshots of before and after editing the shader with these changes. (The blue dot is just to help you see which line I’ve edited.)
Before:
Tumblr media
After:
Tumblr media
4. Look a little further down the file and find the three lines in the section directly below, that say:
RenderTarget0 = MXAO_ColorTex; RenderTarget1 = MXAO_DepthTex; RenderTarget2 = MXAO_NormalTex;
Now change the MXAO to MXAO2 (or whatever you have chosen), so it now reads:
RenderTarget0 = MXAO2_ColorTex; RenderTarget1 = MXAO2_DepthTex; RenderTarget2 = MXAO2_NormalTex;
5. Go one section down from that and find this line:
RenderTarget = MXAO_CullingTex;
And do the same as above, changing MXAO to MXAO2, so it now reads:
RenderTarget = MXAO2_CullingTex;
Below are two screenshots showing the shader before and after these edits:
Before:
Tumblr media
After:
Tumblr media
 6. Next, scroll up until you find the section labelled Textures, Samplers.
7. Find the lines below, that at the beginning read:
texture2D MXAO_ColorTex texture2D MXAO_DepthTex texture2D MXAO_NormalTex texture2D MXAO_CullingTex
And change the MXAO to MXAO2 so it now reads:
texture2D MXAO2_ColorTex texture2D MXAO2_DepthTex texture2D MXAO2_NormalTex texture2D MXAO2_CullingTex
8. Look directly below and find the lines, that at the end read:
{ Texture = MXAO_ColorTex; }; { Texture = MXAO_DepthTex; }; { Texture = MXAO_NormalTex; }; { Texture = MXAO_CullingTex; };
And change MXAO to MXAO2 so it now reads:
{ Texture = MXAO2_ColorTex; }; { Texture = MXAO2_DepthTex; }; { Texture = MXAO2_NormalTex; }; { Texture = MXAO2_CullingTex; };
Below are two screenshots showing the lines in steps 7 and 8 before and after editing:
Before:
Tumblr media
After:
Tumblr media
9. Now 'Save As...’ your file with a new name so you can tell it apart from the original unedited version should you need to revert back. It makes sense to call it MXAO2.fx since that’s what we edited the technique name to.
10. Go into your Shaders folder and remove the old MXAO.fx shader (keep it somewhere safe in case you need it again*), and replace it with your newly-edited MXAO2.fx shader. You can now use it alongside qUINT_MXAO.fx without any conflicts.
You can use this method to add additional versions of the MXAO shader if you want. In The Sims 4 I have 3 versions of MXAO.fx and 1 version of qUINT_MXAO.fx all running alongside each other with different settings for different situations. Be mindful that you likely won’t want to have them all turned on at the same time because they’ll make your PC cry.
You can also use this method with other shaders to use multiple versions. I have lots of different MultiLUT.fx files running together, for example. The exact lines you have to edit will change between shaders. The important one is the technique name, as in step 3. From there you should be able to work out, with a little trial and error, which other lines need changing to match this technique name, remembering that it’s often shared textures that can cause conflicts, so that’s where you can start looking and experimenting. Once in a while you might find a shader that only needs the technique line editing. It’s like winning the lottery.
* You should make it a habit to keep a clean, full, unedited backup of the reshade-shaders folder for every version of ReShade you use. You can also keep the dll file (called the binary, will likely either be d3d9.dll or dxgi.dll depending on the game) and the ReShade.ini file for that version together with them. This makes it easy to swap versions in and out without having to go through the installation and download process each time, and ensures should the ReShade creators change how they distribute everything you’re never left in the lurch.

The Best Games of 2020
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Despite how almost every other aspect of the year went, 2020 was a landmark year for video games. Not only did it see the release of highly-anticipated titles like The Last of Us Part II, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Ghost of Tsushima, and Cyberpunk 2077, but 2020 also marked the beginning of a new generation of console and PC gaming with the release of the Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and new GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD. We even got a new Half-Life game this year!
What would’ve made the gaming year ever better? Big-name video game companies could have done more to eliminate development crunch and be more transparent about their business practices with customers and the press. And we definitely could have all been nicer to each other.
But video games also helped keep us connected when we couldn’t see our friends and loved ones in person. They helped us travel to new and interesting places when we couldn’t leave our homes. Most importantly, all 20 games on our best-of-the-year list made us feel excited about this medium at a time when it was so difficult to enjoy anything else.
To that affect, Den of Geek is celebrating 20 video games our contributors and critics, as well as our community of readers, voted as the very best of 2020.
20. Star Wars: Squadrons
For the last decade or so, most Star Wars games have focused on the power fantasy of being a lightsaber-swinging, Force-wielding Jedi. That’s all well and good, but for a long time it seemed like everyone forgot that some of the most beloved Star Wars games of all time were actually space shooters like X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and Rogue Squadron. In many ways, Star Wars: Squadrons is a throwback to those games, both in terms of gameplay and design. Controls are a pitch perfect mix of arcade simplicity and strategy, requiring quick thinking about whether to focus your ship’s power on attacking or defending.
Squadrons is also much more tightly focused than other recent games from large publishers, with a breezy yet enjoyable single-player campaign, and a multiplayer mode that, while light on modes, eschews the more annoying modern conventions of the online PvP like invasive microtransactions. But Squadrons is not stuck in its old school ways.
If you have the hardware for it on PC or PS4, you can jump into the cockpit of any of the playable ships for one one of the most immersive VR modes around. Similar to how The Mandalorian has rejuvenated the live-action side of the Star Wars media empire, Squadrons is a perfect mix of all of the best things we’ve always loved about Star Wars video games, and everything we want them to be going forward.  – CF
19. Journey to the Savage Planet
Science fiction writers have long held on to this idea that, if and when humankind eventually colonizes the universe, it will do so as some sort of united, utopian entity, like Starfleet. But that future seems less and less likely every day. If and when humanity spreads across the stars, it will likely be messy, absurd, and profit-motivated. Journey to the Savage Planet wallows in that type of future. As an unnamed human (or dog, if you choose), you’re dropped onto the planet AR-Y26 by Kindred, the fourth biggest intergalactic exploration company with the simple goal of collecting as many resources as possible and leaving.
The Metroidvania gameplay loop of crafting equipment to access new areas is compelling, a rarity for 3D games in the genre. And it offers plenty of surprises too. You’ll start off with the typical blaster and scanner before eventually unlocking a grappling hook that lets you swing around levels like Spider-Man. But it’s style that ultimately lifts Journey to the Savage Planet above so many other games released in 2020. For one thing, the world and the fauna you’ll encounter are incredibly unique, and well, alien. And the regular live-action updates from Kindred beamed directly to your ship are among some of the funniest and most bizarre cinematics out this year in any game, providing plenty of motivation to see this journey through to its end. – CF
18. Half-Life: Alyx
As VR gaming continues to evolve, it’s becoming clear that the technology is more than just one truly great game away from widespread adoption. If that were all it took, then Half-Life: Alyx would have put a VR set under a lot of Christmas trees.
It’s truly wild to think that we got a new Half-Life game this year and that it sometimes feels like the game’s release was barely a blip on the cultural radar. While its somewhat muted debut can be attributed to its VR exclusivity (and the fact it launched at the onset of a global health crisis), Half-Life: Alyx surpassed all possible hype by offering a truly incredibly narrative-driven adventure bolstered by some of the cleverest uses of VR technology that we’ve ever seen.
Half-Life: Alyx isn’t the first great VR game, but Valve’s glorious return to form does shows how VR can advance fundamental elements of gameplay and storytelling rather than just show familiar games from a new perspective. – MB
17. Carrion
The indie game space is where you typically see the most experimentation, and this year proved no different when the gruesome and morbid Carrion released back in July. Highly inspired by the likes of John Carpenter’s The Thing, Alien, and other cult classic horror films known for their excellent use of practical SFX, this platformer cleverly flips the script, putting you in the role of the monster to dispatch helpless scientists in the claustrophobic depths of an underground lab as an ever-growing amorphous blob creature. What follows is a brief but effective 2D platformer that is fast paced and delectably gory.
The controls could have made controlling the creature a real pain, but Phobia Game Studio recognized that the key here was letting you move swiftly through the levels. As such, gliding through vents to take down scientists from above or underneath quickly becomes second nature. Encounters still pose a good degree of challenge, however, thanks to the heavily armed soldiers that show up later in the game, but this never stops Carrion from fulfilling every horror aficionado’s devilish fantasy of being the bloodthirsty monster. – AP
16. Kentucky Route Zero
Calling Kentucky Route Zero an homage to classic point-and-click adventure games is technically correct, but it doesn’t come close to doing the experience justice. Kentucky Route Zero is more like a poem or fable in video game form. It’s a feeling, a distillation of what it’s like to come of age in the Great Recession and its fallout over the last decade. Kentucky Route Zero is an epithet for rural America told through a fever dream, an examination of a version of rural Appalachia where talking skeletons and robotic musicians live alongside gas station attendants and truck drivers.
Nothing about Kentucky Route Zero fits the typical confines of what we expect from a video game, and that includes its release. Developed by a team of only three, the first episode of the five-episode experience was released in 2013, but the final product was only realized in early 2020. That lengthy development cycle meant that the game’s scope and story could grow to only better encapsulate this moment in time, and the final product stands out as one of best games of the year. To say more is to spoil its excellent story. – CF
15. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2
Though it’s been a hot minute since skateboarding games dominated the console space, Vicarious Visions’ excellent remake collection of the first two Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater titles was a reminder of how the entire series captured a whole generation of players in the late ’90s and early ’00s. Whether it’s grinding down rails, performing kickflips, or landing the gravity-defying 1080 on a vert ramp, everything in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 feels and looks exactly as you remember it but touched up with modern flare. That’s the mark of any great remake, and why this game in particular was the best example of the practice this year.
Classic skating locations like Warehouse, School and Downtown have all been faithfully remade from the ground up for a 21st century audience, effortlessly delivering the same thrills and balanced challenge as they did before. The fact that select mechanical features like reverts, which wouldn’t arrive until later entries, have been retroactively added is also a nice touch, instantly making Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 the definitive way to experience these skateboarding classics. – AP
14. Ori and the Will of the Wisps
The fact that Ori and the Will of the Wisps managed to usurp the critically acclaimed 2015 original in most design aspects speaks to just how well Moon Studios has mastered the art of the Metroidvania. Whisking players off on another tight 10-hour journey set within a mystical forest full of secrets to discover, this 2D adventure gives off a fantastical vibe in a way few others do. It’s an expert blend between smart combat mechanics, highly polished platforming, and emotional storytelling. That it runs at a silky 60 fps both on Nintendo Switch and Xbox is the cherry on top.
The major improvements Will of the Wisps makes over Blind Forest relate to saving and combat. Whereas previously it was the responsibility of players to lay down specific checkpoints, progress is now more in line with other 2D platformers and less punishing. Combat, meanwhile, has been completely revamped with the inclusion of special charms and upgradeable skills, most of which result in more flexible enemy encounters. These tweaks are implemented without ever compromising on Ori’s core hook of magical exploration and challenging platforming, instantly making it one of the best Metroidvanias out there. – AP
13. Call of Duty: Warzone
Call of Duty: Warzone was a natural and perhaps even necessary evolution for the long-running shooter franchise, carving out a space for it in the ever-crowding battle royale genre. While it’s largely derivative of battle royale titles that came before, the staggering 150-player count, always excellent CoD controls, top-notch presentation, and flexible cash system have made it eminently popular and fun for casual players and series vets alike. The CoD fan base feels vibrant again after years of stagnation in the shadow of breakout titles like PUBG and Fortnite, and that’s without going into how Warzone has revitalized the franchise’s presence in the streaming space.
One of the best facets of the game’s design is that the large player count all but ensures that, even if a player is new to the genre or series, the chances of them being the absolute worst player in the field is very low. Better still, the “Gulag” respawn mechanic opens up the possibility for ultimate revenge should you earn your way back into the match, which is a nice way to up engagement for those who suffer disappointing deaths.
The game doesn’t feel quite as dynamic or high-stakes as some of its competitors on the market, but it’s definitely one of the easiest to pick up and play. It’s no wonder Warzone has expanded CoD’s already enormous audience over the course of 2020. – BB
12. Astro’s Playroom
With launch lineups mostly filled with graphically enhanced releases of last-gen games, the release of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X has been more than a little underwhelming. The one bright spot is Astro’s Playroom, a little first-party Sony game that received virtually no pre-release hype and comes pre-installed on every PS5.
While at first glance a typical 3D platformer, Astro’s Playroom soon reveals itself to be a fantastic showcase of what’s possible with the new DualSense controller. In one level, you’re feeling the resistance from the controller’s adaptive triggers as you spring jump through obstacles dressed as a frog. In another, you’re expertly moving the controller back and forth to climb walls in a robotic monkey suit. Even just standing in the rain causes the controller to pulse ever so slightly with each drop. And all of this takes place across worlds celebrating the entire history of PlayStation, where you collect classic consoles and accessories, culminating in an unexpected boss battle throwback to an original PSX tech demo.
Astro’s Playroom may be short, but it’s an oh so sweet and exciting taste of what’s possible with the power of next-gen consoles. – CF
11. Doom Eternal
It would have been easy for Doom Eternal to be more of the same. After all, 2016’s Doom became the surprising gold-standard for single-player FPS games by virtue of its clever writing and gameplay that blended the best of classic and modern design concepts. Yet, Doom Eternal proved to be something much more than “the same but bigger.”
With its arena-like levels and resource management mechanics, Doom Eternal sometimes feels like a puzzle game set in the Doom universe. While the transition to this new style can be jarring, you soon find that Doom Eternal is speaking the same language in a different dialect. The brutal brilliance of a classic Doom game remains but it’s presented in the form of a kind of FPS dance that puts you in a state of pure zen once you figure out how to make that perfect run through a room full of demonic baddies.
Four years after Doom showed this old franchise could pull off new tricks, Doom Eternal proves that this series is at the forefront of FPS innovation once more. – MB
10. Demon’s Souls
Although initially released in 2009 for the PlayStation 3, Demon’s Souls would help define the next generation of gaming by establishing the Soulslike genre, which has influenced everything from recent Star Wars games to The Legend of Zelda. The “problem” is that the legacy of Demon’s Souls has been sort of eclipsed by the accomplishments of its successors.
That’s the beauty of the remake for the PS5. Aided by the power of the console’s next-gen hardware, developer Bluepoint Games pays homage to one of the most historically significant games of the last 15 years while wisely updating it in ways that show that the foundation of FromSoftware’s breakthrough hit remains arguably the best entry in a genre that isn’t exactly lacking in modern classics.
In a year where finding a next-gen console proved to be more difficult than any Soulslike game, Demon’s Souls remains the best reason to battle the bots at online stores in the hopes of joining gaming’s next generation as soon as possible. – MB
9. Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout
There were multiple times this year where couped-up players relied heavily on “bean” games to help maintain a human connection. Before Among Us dominated the Twitch streams, it was Mediatonic’s intentionally clumsy and hilarious Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout that had us competitively raging with our friends. It did so by merging the wildly popular battle royale genre with the inflatable-fueled antics of early ’90s game shows, where dodging swinging hammers and battling giant fruit against 59 others became the norm for a few weeks – all in the pursuit of winning a highly coveted crown.
Needless to say, making Fall Guys free to PS Plus subscribers for a month turned out to be a genius marketing move, urging everyone to hop into the game’s inventive gamut of levels and make a fool of themselves. Much of what sets it apart from other battle royale attempts is its low-skill barrier to entry, and thanks to frequent seasonal updates, new unlockable outfits and fresh mini-games always being added, bumbling to the top of the pack as a colorful bean remains consistent fun. – AP
8. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
It’s not an exaggeration to say that Animal Crossing: New Horizons should be included in history books about the Covid-19 pandemic. Releasing just as lockdowns were being instituted across the globe, New Horizons provided the escapism we so desperately needed while quarantining, attracting not just the usual Nintendo fanbase, but even those who had never played games in the past but were now looking for something to occupy their time at home. Whether we played it with friends or alone, New Horizons provided the routine and distraction that so many of us needed in a world suddenly thrown into chaos.
Of course, it helped that New Horizons is the best Animal Crossing game to date, with tons of new ways to customize your island (and yourself). And as Covid-19 restrictions have stretched much longer than many of us anticipated, New Horizons has kept pace, with Nintendo releasing a steady stream of new fish to catch, fruits to harvest, and events to participate in throughout the year. It may not be the game that everyone wanted, but New Horizons is the game that 2020 needed. – CF
7. Cyberpunk 2077
When Cyberpunk 2077’s legacy is written, there’s no doubt that the opening chapter is going to focus on the bugs, technical shortcomings, and empty promises that have turned what looked to be one of 2020’s guaranteed hits into one of modern gaming’s most debated debuts.
Yet, the reason that this game’s initial issues will likely not ultimately define it is that Cyberpunk 2077 reveals itself to be a special experience whenever you’re able to play it without crashes or bugs ruining your experience. From its stunning side quests that revive one of The Witcher 3’s best elements to its shockingly human narrative, Cyberpunk 2077 regularly showcases the undeniable talent of the individuals who battled internal and external factors to deliver their vision.
Cyberpunk 2077’s technical problems wouldn’t hurt as much as they do if there wasn’t a truly great game at the heart of them that people are begging to be able to play as intended. – MB
6. Final Fantasy VII Remake
The pressure was on for Square Enix from the moment it announced Final Fantasy VII Remake back in 2015. For those who obsessed over the original back in 1997, the prospect of a remake was the stuff dreams were made of, and this year we finally got to relive Cloud, Aerith, Barret, and Tifa’s grand adventure (the first act of it, at least) with fully updated, well, everything. Astonishingly, the remake actually lived up to expectations and delivered not just a faithful update to the original game but a modern RPG that stands as one of its generation’s best regardless of nostalgia.
The key to Square Enix’s success was its approach, which aimed not to duplicate the experience of the original game, but to capture the essence and spirit of it while using modern game design to deliver the story in a way that doesn’t feel retro or rehashed at all. The game looks dazzling by 2020 standards (Midgar never looked better) but doesn’t compromise the integrity of the original designs, and the real-time combat—arguably the biggest departure from the original—is a blast to play.
Time will tell how exactly Square Enix will follow through with the rest of the remake as we enter a new console generation, but in the meantime, they studio has left us with a terrific reimagining of the most celebrated title in the studio’s expansive oeuvre. – BB
5. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Ubisoft deserves credit for keeping a franchise like Assassin’s Creed, which is 13 years old at this point, thriving in an industry that is flooded with more open world games now than it ever has been. The series is always competitive in the genre, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla proves why: it’s as refined as any of its predecessors and delivers a balanced experience with a rich world to explore, tons of strange stories to uncover, and a mash-up milieu that combines the eerie atmosphere of 5th-century England with the otherworldly spectacle of Norse mythology.
No open world game is perfect, and Valhalla certainly has a handful of shortcomings. But it’s a bloody good time to play, and there’s so much to do that there’s no question that you get your money’s worth. Eivor’s quest for glory and domination is also arguably the most cinematic story in the entire AC catalog, with some truly breathtaking cutscenes that rival those found in more linear games that can’t sniff Valhalla’s scope. Some of the more otherworldly moments in the back half of the game are pure, unadulterated, nonsensical fun, and overall, this is one of the best entries in the series. – BB
4. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Insomniac is one of those studios that you can always rely on to deliver fun, polished games that shine in every category, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales only adds to the team’s sterling reputation. Building on the already brilliant formula the studio created with the original Marvel’s Spider-Man, Miles’s story is one of loss, friendship, identity, and the strength of the Black and Hispanic communities of Harlem.
The side-quel is also one of the best launch titles arguably ever. While it is a cross-gen game, the PS5 version is currently the best showcase of what next-gen gaming is capable of from a visual and performance standpoint. You won’t find a better-looking New York City in any other video game, period, and Insomniac’s outstanding animation work looks insanely good when bolstered by the PS5’s considerable horsepower. Miles plays differently than Peter Parker did in the original game as well, with his Venom Powers giving enemy encounters a new feel and rhythm.
Insomniac outdid itself with an excellent follow-up that would’ve been a forgettable DLC expansion in the hands of a less ambitious studio. But Miles Morales is one of the best modern-day superhero characters ever created, and it’s only right that he get a game that lives up to his greatness. – BB
3. Hades
The popularity of roguelikes has been calmly bubbling up for years now, yet only in 2020 did it truly become mainstream thanks to an ideal balance between gameplay and story as demonstrated by Hades. Players who previously took umbrage with the genre’s nature to wipe out all progress at each run’s end suddenly had a reason to jump back in, now inspired by Zagreus’ various tries to escape hell and overthrow his eponymous father. This alone sees Hades tower over most of its peers in terms of balance, further backed up by rewarding gameplay and a gorgeous comic book art style that makes the well-worn mythological Greek milieu feel fresh.
Developer Supergiant Games proved its penchant for creating flexible mechanical loops in prior titles, and in many ways, Hades feels like a culmination of all those ideas distilled in one neat package. It’s a great example of semi-randomized systems layering perfectly on top of other systems, until players eventually find themselves completing runs using distinct weapons, upgrading persistent abilities and slowly discovering which of the god’s many boons gel best with one another. Hades is always a hellishly good time. – AP
2. Ghost of Tsushima
The concept of honor has never been explored in a game as lyrically and philosophically as it is in Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch’s story-driven samurai epic. Jin Sakai’s grand adventure is both brutal and beautiful, stretching across the grasslands and snowy peaks of the titular island, as he pushes the oppressive Mongol army out of his homeland, all the while wrestling internally with the kind of man, warrior, and leader he ultimately wants to be.
This game is outstanding on so many fronts that it’s difficult to list them all here. Visually, it looks so stunning that anyone who walks past your TV as you play is all but guaranteed to stop and stare for a while. The combat is fast and challenging, the stealth mechanic is on-point, the score is sweeping and sentimental, the character models are incredibly realistic, the online multiplayer mode “Legends” is actually a blast to play…and the list goes on. This poetic, pitch-perfect modern masterpiece is emblematic of the soulful, cinematic storytelling PlayStation Studios is known for, and it’s a wonderful way to send the PS4 off into the sunset. – BB
1. The Last of Us Part II (Also Reader’s Choice)
You can’t even say the name of our 2020 game of the year without sparking numerous debates that often make it nearly impossible to have a productive conversation about the game itself. That makes it that much more tempting to somehow find a kind of middle-ground that will “justify” the game’s lofty position to everyone regardless of where they stand.
The thing about The Last of Us Part 2,though, is that its divisiveness is very much part of the experience. Naughty Dog’s follow-up to arguably its greatest game is a bold attempt to live up to the franchise’s legacy by furthering what came before while trying to find its own way. Much like Ellie herself, The Last of Us Part 2 doesn’t always make the right decisions. Yet, at a time when bigger budgets are seen as an excuse to play it safe, The Last of Us Part 2 impresses through its willingness to present a big, bold, and personal adventure that is often anything but what was expected.
cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "106e33c0-3911-473c-b599-b1426db57530", }).render("0270c398a82f44f49c23c16122516796"); });
Anyone can generate a little controversy by saying something stupid, offensive, or hurtful. The beauty of The Last of Us Part 2’s controversy is that it stems from a heartfelt attempt to advance the conversation through indie-like passion and big budget production. – MB

Windows 10 evaluation : hands on with Windows 10 – the constructive return of the Start Menu and different Desktop UI options
Tumblr media
Windows 10 overview: what’s Windows 10?
Microsoft in late 2014 took the wraps off the Technical Preview of its subsequent Windows working system, and in doing so it took everybody abruptly. We anticipated the following era of Windows: we simply did not anticipate it to be referred to as Windows 10. None the much less right here is Windows 10: the following Windows OS for PCs and laptops, smartphones and tablets . And, certainly, an OS for servers and all factors inbetween.
Microsoft execs said that Windows 10 would be built from the ground up for a world in which mobile- and cloud computing are key. They also told us that Microsoft was committed to making Windows 10 friendly for the enterprise, ideal for keyboard and mouse users, but also optimised for touch. Oh, and Windows 10 will put the same interface on devices with displays ranging in size from 4in to 80in. ‘One product family, one platform, one store,’ says Microsoft.
Given the lukewarm reaction to compromised Windows 8, these seem like bold claims. They are probably necessary.
Also necessary is Microsoft’s decision to make Windows 10 the most beta-tested product it has ever released. Windows 10 Technical Preview will be available to everyone who wants to test it from today – October 1 2014. Given that we don’t expect it to launch until the middle of next year, that is a longer test period than we have previously seen. And the version of Windows that Microsoft is sharing is very far from the final code. Microsoft tells us to expect the Charms to change, for instance.
Critically the Start Menu contains standard Windows software and Windows Apps. Modern UI apps. So you can use those apps from within the Desktop area. Hopefully this removes some of the pointless division in Windows on X86 systems. It should also help Microsoft make good on its claim that Windows 10 will feel familiar to Windows 7 users. But we are a long way from that just now.
All of which means that this article is very far from a final Windows 10 review. More of a flavour of what to expect. As yet there is no music, IE or video to be found. We’re guessing that won’t be the case come launch in 2015. We brought you live coverage of the Windows 10 launch event, and our colleague Mark Hachman – he works for our sister title PCWorld.com – spent some time getting hands on with Windows 10 Technical Preview, and gave us detailed thoughts on some of the new features. We share some of them here with you in no particular order. You can get all the hard facts on Windows 10 in our article: Windows 10 release date, price, features. The next version of Windows will run on everything: smartphones, tablets, laptops and PCs.
Windows 10 review: search improvements
Personally I think that universal search in Windows 8 is a much-undervalued feature. Searching to load up apps and files is much more efficient than navigating via apps and file systems. And going by the Technical Preview Microsoft has made strides in this area.
Because, quite simply, Windows 10 sees a search button added to the taskbar. This in one important move one of the few important aspects of the Windows 8 Start page is pulled into the Desktop. Microsoft officials tell us that Search and File Explorer now displays your recent files and frequently visited folders. This should make finding files you’ve worked on faster and easier. It’s difficult to test this on a demo machine, but we look forward to trying it out on the Technical Preview just as soon as we can get it installed.
Windows 10 review: Snap Assist and windowed apps
With Snap Assist every app in Windows 10 can be dynamically resized in a window. And unlike in Windows 8 – where a snapped app takes up half the screen – with Windows 10 up to four apps can be snapped per screen. This has the potential to be a killer productivity app – true multitasking in a single window.
Even better, Snap a document to one side of the screen, and Snap Assist will suggest others that you may wish to open. Snap an app and Windows 10 suggests another, similar app that you might want to snap next to it. Mark was impressed with his brief test: “The feature is intended to save you the hassle of hunting about through menus to actually construct a virtual desktop. Time will tell whether these suggestions will prove useful, but it’s a good start.
“You can see, however, that a number of different features – Snap Assist, windowed apps, virtual desktops – all flow somewhat organically into one another. I’m honestly interested to see what difference they make in my own daily workflow.”
Windows 10 review: the all-new Start Menu
Now we get on to the big stuff. The Start Menu is back, back, back baby. But this time it is improved, and it may even make Windows apps useful. Look to the left and you’ll see a list of frequently used apps and shortcuts to PC settings. Here you will also find documents and pictures folders. At the bottom we see an ‘All apps’ shortcut.
And Microsoft has retained the functionality of the Windows 8 Start screen over on the right, with resizeable Live Tiles so that you can immediately check unread mail or Calender appointments. The Start Menu is customisable – you can resize it, and rearrange the tabs, You can also revert to the Windows 8 Start page, should you wish to. Who will wish to?
Mark wasn’t impressed with the Windows 10 Start Menu’s looks, but he can see the beauty within: “Aesthetically, it looks like someone surgically conjoined the Windows 7 and Windows 8 experience. Move past that inelegance, however, and it’s darn useful.”
Windows 10 review: Task View, virtual desktops, ALT-TAB
Another useful and visual productivity enhancer is the way that Task View allows you to create a kind of multi-monitor setup within a single monitor. As with previous versions of Windows you can use ALT-TAB to quickly shuffle between windows. The killer difference here is the new Task View button. Third from the left in the Windows Taskbar is the Task View button. Press it – or hit Windows TAB – and you will see an array of ‘virtual desktops’, virtual displays into which you can snap multiple apps. So you could keep your email and web browser on one Desktop that you hide away when you are working on an Excel spreadsheet.
Potentially a very useful feature.
Buying Advice
It is clearly much too early to give a verdict on Windows 10. We applaud Microsoft’s commitment to user-driven testing of Windows 10, and are excited about the possibility of fixing some of the problems with Windows 8 – particularly on the Desktop. We are a long way from being able to praise Windows 10, but the start is good. And, yes, that is in part because the Start Menu is good. More than the Roses
A Kuroko no Basuke fanfiction
Summary: Aomine is not into romantic words and gifts. Kise tells himself that it’s okay.
Tags: Established relationship, domestic boyfriends, future fic
Read on Ao3
.
I’m  not one for surprises…
Because Valentine’s Day isn’t really our thing.
...
All I need is him.
.
.
Kise knows there aren’t any surprises waiting for him today.
No flowers.
No chocolates.
No cheesy love notes tucked on gifts carefully wrapped in fancy paper.
It just wasn’t their sort of thing, making a big fuss over the so-called day of hearts.
Daiki thinks it’s only a huge-ass gimmickry, the perfect ploy of flower shops and bakeries to wring out  bucks from people’s pockets, as if love can be stowed into something too ordinary and tangible, not to mention, something that’s store-bought.
“Besides,” Daiki tells him, midnight-blue eyes serious, unwavering, “...you always knew how I felt for you, these gifts are too overrated, anyway.”
So Kise learns to dismiss all sorts of expectations, when a dash of crimson sneaks into his periphery, a delivery guy bearing a bouquet of roses approaches his desk (guy’s been the fifth one to do so today, because Kise’s desk is closest to the office entrance).
No, it doesn’t affect Kise at all, that the person the delivery guy had asked for is his co-worker, Takao Kazunari, whose head had immediately perked up at the sound of his name. Seated from the far end of the room, Takao is quick on his heels, bouncing beside Kise to meet the delivery guy and claim his gift.
And Kise ignores the slight twinge of jealousy ripping in his chest when Takao sniffs the roses, pulls the note card out from the tiny envelope and claps a hand over his mouth to suppress a laugh at what he just read.
“What did it say?” Kise dares to ask, he’s only curious, and that’s just about it.
Takao turns to him, cheeks aflame, slate-blue eyes practically sparkling. “Oh, it’s just my prudish Shin-chan! I just find it too funny when he’s being sweet like this.”
With lifted chin, Takao shows Kise the message.
Happy Valentine’s Day, gorgeous. Tonight is all ours.
Kise lets out a chuckle, it doesn’t sound like Midorima at all, he probably chose from the message templates that the flower shop had offered, but still, Kise would give him props for being the thoughtful and sweet boyfriend for this occasion.
“Tee-hee, that’s the love of my life! Gotta thank St. Valentine, we get to experience the cheesy side of our emotionally-challenged boyfriends even for once,” Takao remarks.
Kise chews on the corner of his bottom lip and goes quiet with a nod. For years, Daiki and himself hardly do anything special during Valentine’s Day, it just kind of... got obscured by their daily routines and busy schedule, more so because Daiki has been duty-bound and is always on-call as a police officer. It gets to a point where Kise no longer cares about Valentine’s Day too, doesn’t give much thought to it, that it completely slips out of his mind, until he walks to his office today and notice the considerable number of flowers, balloons and other gifts adorning his co-worker’s tables.
It’s even worse when Valentine’s Day falls on his and Daiki’s workday, like today, for instance.  It gets ditched from their schedule altogether, in favor of other ludicrous activities such as getting groceries and stuff. Kise recalls not having to greet Daiki Happy Valentine’s earlier this morning before each of them left for work, he recalls that today will be spent just as ordinarily as the day before, there is nothing special, it’s just their laundry day.
So while other couples will be holding each other’s hands inside movie theaters later or having dinner at high-end restaurants or both, Kise can just look forward to... doing chores with Daiki.
How stupidly romantic and domesticated is that, Kise reflects.
Not wanting to be weighed down by such miserable thoughts, Kise schools his emotions just enough, lets up a forced smile to his lips as he turns his attention back to his friend.
“You know us, we just low-key celebrate because we’re both busy,” Kise tells Takao as he leans back against his chair, not quite sure if he just imagined the bitter aftertaste of the words in his mouth. “Just dinner at home and that’s it.”
“And wild sex,” Takao adds, casual and unabashedly audible, like they’re not anywhere near their other co-workers.
“Right, the sex,” Kise agrees, realizing that no one is paying attention to them. His friend is right, sex is his saving grace. That, at least, is something he can work on, bring Daiki into the mood and make him fuck Kise senseless tonight. With Daiki being a total beast in the sheets, maybe he’ll insist on using the handcuffs again…
“Now, now… I see your thoughts are seriously going astray!” Takao laughs, shoulders bobbing up and down.
Kise’s face grows warmer. “No, I was just thinking about what I’m supposed to cook for dinner.”
“You are the lousiest liar!”
“Am not!”
“Ahem!”
Kise and Takao both turn their heads towards their brunet co-worker, Oikawa Tooru. If looks could gut, both he and Takao will be bleeding immensely on the floor by now, Kise thinks.
“In case you two haven’t noticed, people are working here and we’re not interested in your sexcapades!” Oikawa hisses, a dour expression on his face.
“Talk to you later, Single’s Awareness Day hits some of us hard,” Takao whispers with a wink.
Kise watches as Takao sashays back to his desk grinning from ear to ear, admiring the rose bouquet he got.  From the corner of his eye, Kise steals a glance at Oikawa, the Salt of Valentine’s Day, already typing furiously on his computer. Smiling to himself, Kise thanks his lucky stars, he might have no gifts waiting for him today but at least, he’s got a boyfriend who can keep him warm tonight, unlike Oikawa who’s been on a prolonged sullen mood, having been single for almost half a year, all alone on the day of hearts.
Kise reverts his attention to his PC screen and gets himself to work. He skims through thick pages of printed documents, sends emails and makes several long phone calls to clients and other associates to distract himself.
However, time trickles away, unbelievably slow and harrowing, and the pensive mood grows, sinking deeper and deeper within him, it’s almost impossible to overlook.
Kise tries not to overthink these matters even as several more delivery guys came in with flowers or cakes for his other colleagues.
He tunes out the hushed words of affection from his co-workers, sweet nothings whispered over the phone to their significant others. Grabbing his own phone, Kise takes a selfie with the brightest smile he can possibly muster at the moment, sends it with a quick text to Daiki, I miss you so much.
Hours went by. Daiki doesn’t reply.
.
Then comes the biggest discovery of Kise’s day.
Intending to replenish his stock of paper clips, Kise walks into the supplies room and hears suspicious noises, rattling the shelves somewhere. And he knows he can’t be wrong, because right there behind one of the steel cabinets, there’s Oikawa, oblivious to the world around him, too busy making out with the tall, broad-shouldered guy from the IT department, Ushijima-san. If Kise’s memory serves him right, Oikawa has been bad mouthing the poor guy non-stop since time immemorial, and now this.
Careful as not to burst Oikawa’s little bubble of fun, Kise retreats quietly from the supplies room, biting his lips to keep himself from laughing out loud at the irony of it all. He can’t wait to share the juicy news with Takao.
And when Oikawa bounces back to his office chair a few minutes later, he’s humming a soft tune under his breath and he’s noticeably less catty--the sly little bitch is flushed pink, the glow in his hazel eyes unmistakable. Further observing the brunet, Kise feels genuinely happy for Oikawa and then somehow, feels himself missing Daiki even more. For the gazillionth time, he checks his phone for any message though he knows, he knows…
...Daiki is just not that kind of guy.
And for all of Daiki’s shortcomings, Kise still loves him, all of him.
To cheer himself a little, he pulls up the gallery app from his phone, browsing and swiping through the countless saved pictures of Daiki. Shortly after, Kise finds himself smiling, and he tells himself not to sweat over the trivial stuff.
.
.
When Kise’s shift ends, he’s surprised to see Daiki already waiting for him outside the office. Kise finds him leaning casually against his black vintage Mazda, arms crossed over his chest, the first three buttons of his police uniform undone, his sexy smirk well in place and it makes Kise swoon, heartbeat accelerating.
“Hey,” Daiki says, hooking an arm around Kise’s waist. His other hand climbs up and trails the side of Kise’s face, a thumb softly grazing Kise’s cheek and for a moment, Daiki pauses, an affectionate gaze pulling Kise into the depths of his midnight-blue eyes, before leaning down to catch Kise’s lips on his.
Daiki doesn’t bring him flowers but then, Daiki doesn't really need to...
Closing his eyes, Kise lets himself melt into Daiki, everything becoming clear as crystal as he savors Daiki's presence. In that moment, Kise feels thoroughly ashamed for dwelling over thoughts of self-pity, yearning for words, for gifts that mean so little compared to all the years they spent growing together, the moments in between their shared lives, Daiki always rooting for him, challenging him, seeing the best in him, always fanning the flames of passion in his heart.
All Kise has ever needed is right there in front of him.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day isn’t really their thing. They have their own version of romantic, only it’s not anywhere under the spotlight of typical couple venues, of fine-dine restaurants, movie houses or concert halls.
And Kise concludes, they’re never the typical couple, anyway.
Today is laundry day, he and Daiki are doing it together just as they did on the weeks before, on all the years since the two of them decided to move in under one roof.
At the laundromat just a short walk from their apartment, Kise slips a few coins into the money slot of one of the washing machines before pouring detergent and fabric conditioner into the drawer while Daiki sorts the soiled clothes on a nearby table.
“Whites first,” Kise says. Obediently, Daiki hands him socks and shirts, few pieces at a time, while Kise tosses them inside the washing machine. Kise bends his knees a bit, peering into the opening, one of his hands pushing several pieces of clothing further inside the machine. He gestures for Daiki to hand him more clothing, his free arm stretched out towards Daiki behind him.
“Towels now...”
And instead of soft fabric, Daiki has put something else on the palm of Kise’s hand. Turning his head, he sees that Daiki has given him—
A small white box.
Next, Kise’s eyes are blown wide.
A glimmer of something small and precious, a golden ring inside.
“What—” Kise’s heart stutters, as also his tongue; all  the words, the question, the awe remains trapped behind his throat.
“Roses are expensive, so I got you this instead.”
Taking one of Kise’s hands, Daiki gets down on one knee. Then Kise hears the words, the only words he never thought he’s  been longing to hear all his life until now.
“I want to spend every Valentine’s Day with you, the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me, Kise Ryouta?”
Kise revels at the rich, honeyed baritone of Daiki’s voice, and for the briefest of moments, a flood of emotions well up in his heart, bringing with it fond memories that he and Daiki had weaved together over the years, starting from the instant that the ball had hit the back of Kise's head during middle school. They sweep across Kise’s mind, and he lets himself be buoyed through the bliss, through the turbulence of being endlessly in love with Daiki.
“Aho. You could’ve picked out a finer place to propose to me instead of here,” Kise whines. Not that he's complaining, he just can't believe this is all happening right now. With his heart drumming so hard in his chest, he worries that he’s gonna fall, he's so sure his knees have already turned into jelly.
“I want to surprise you,” Daiki says, gently squeezing Kise's hand. There's a very visible shade of red on Daiki's cheeks which Kise finds too adorable, and Kise feels proud he's the reason Daiki is blushing like that.
“You did a great job.”
“So it’s a yes?”
Kise grips Daiki’s hand and pulls him up from the floor. “Yes, of course, I’ll marry you, aho! In this life and in the next and the next!”
“You’re a cheesy shit.”
“And you want to marry this cheesy shit!”
As soon as Daiki slips the ring around his finger, Kise wraps his arms around Daiki’s neck, pulling his soon-to-be-husband by the nape, colliding their lips together in a kiss.
The ring grows infinitely warmer against Kise’s skin as he feels Daiki smiling in his mouth.

Backing up your Kindle
Your Kindle's charging cable is key to backing it up. As the icons on each end suggest, this is a regular USB cable, which once detached from the plug can be used to connect your Kindle to a Mac or PC.
Connected this way, its internal storage mounts as an external drive, appearing as 'Kindle' on a Mac's Finder sidebar, and assigned a drive letter when hooked up to a Windows PC.
Kindle's filing system isn't particularly tidy. It consists of three key folders called audible, music and documents. The first two contain your audiobooks and MP3s, the third, 'documents', holds pretty much everything else, including downloaded books, text files, PDFs and screen grabs. You can capture your Kindle's screen display at any time by holding shift and alt while briefly pressing 'G' on its keyboard. Grabs are saved in .gif format and given the prefix 'screen_shot'.
If you've connected your Kindle to your computer before, you may spot some other folders alongside these three defaults, particularly if you have used a management tool such as Calibre, which leaves small metadata files behind it.
EC Technology SD Card Reader Aluminum Superspeed USB 3.0 Multi-In-1 Card Reader for SD Card/CF Card/Micro SD Card and More for MacBook Pro Air, iMac, Mac Mini, Microsoft Surface Pro, Lenovo Yoga by EC Technology. Card reader for mac pro.
Sort the files in the documents folder according to type. If you're using Windows 7, the easiest way to do this is by clicking the drop-down menu on the right-hand side of the Type column header. From this, select AZW to filter out all of the non-book files.
On a Mac you can do the same thing by entering .azw in the Finder toolbar's search box to display only those documents with that extension.
This isolated selection is your collection of downloaded books, which you can drag to another location on your computer for storage. Each will be preserved in its original format without all of the associated bookmarks. To keep track of these, be sure to also copy across any .mbp files bearing the same names as your books.
Transferring books to another device
Charged-for Kindle books are copy protected, so while you can back them up this way you can't transfer them to another Kindle or reader application. Doing so will throw up an error.
Feb 27, 2015  In October of last year I wrote about a way to view Web pages in Chrome for Android without any of the distracting ads or other page elements. This feature, called Reader Mode. Search for “Reader mode” and you will see the option “Reader Mode triggering” set to “Default”. Change it to “Always”, if you want to force the Reader mode on every webpage or select “ Appears to be an article “, which lets Chrome detect articles. Reader mode for chrome for mac. Show the reader view (reading mode) in Google Chrome 1 If you've used Safari on Mac OS X or iOS devices (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch), you know the ' reader view ' option.
You can, however, transfer free books on which copyright has expired.

This restriction not only prevents copyright infringement, but also stops you from either copying them to another device you own yourself, or reading your backed-up books in a Kindle app on your PC, Mac, tablet or phone.
To transfer a copy of your bought books to another device, ensure that it's registered to your account and either use the built-in synchronisation option to choose the books you want to download from your archive, or revert to the Amazon site to retrieve multiple documents over Whispernet. After logging in using a normal browser, click Your Account > Manage your Kindle (the latter is in the Settings box). Enter your password again, and Amazon will display a list of your past purchases.
Tumblr media
Each is accompanied by an Actions menu that lets you re-send the book to any one of your devices or delete it from your library. This latter option removes it entirely from your list of purchased books, so use it with caution, as you'll have to buy it again if you want to get it back.
China specific version and related privacy issues ( ) Starting with version 30, Adobe stopped distributing Flash Player directly to Chinese users. He also claimed that when one of Apple's computers crashes, 'more often than not' the cause can be attributed to Flash, and described Flash as 'buggy'. Instead, they selected 2144.cn as a partner and released a special version of Flash Player on a specific website, which contains code to collect user activity and pops up advertisement window contents. Steve Jobs also claimed that a large percentage of the video on the Internet is supported on iOS, since many popular video sharing websites such as YouTube have published video content in an compatible format, enabling videos to playback in mobile web browsers even without Flash Player. Flash reader for mac. Adobe's CEO responded by saying, 'If Flash (is) the number one reason that Macs crash, which I'm not aware of, it has as much to do with the Apple operating system.'
To dispatch another copy of a purchased book to one of your Kindles or apps, Amazon needs to know which device you want to re-send your book to.
This isn't only so that it can find it over Whispernet, but so it can apply the necessary rights management. This is more obvious when you elect to download the file to your computer and transfer it by USB, as you'll still need to specify on which device it will be used.
Save money on your Kindle purchase
The ability to transfer purchases this way means that even if you don't have a wireless network at home you can still avoid paying extra on a 3G-enabled Kindle. If you bought yours from Amazon direct it will already be registered to your account, but if you bought it through a third-party such as Currys or Staples then you'll need to do this yourself.
Every Kindle has a unique serial number, which Amazon claims is printed on the reverse. It's missing from our Kindle 3, but holding Shift and Alt on the Kindle keyboard while pressing full stop brings it up on screen, along with matching barcodes.
Make a note of this, log in to your Amazon account using a regular browser and go to amazon.co.uk/gp/digital/fiona/manage. Click the 'Register a Kindle' link in the sidebar and enter the serial number to tie it to your account. Amazon can now use this to apply the necessary DRM to your purchases that will allow them to be read on the device.
Now, having found a book you want to buy, instead of delivering it straight to the registered Kindle, pick 'Transfer via Computer' on the 'Deliver to' pop-up menu.
Bookmarks For Kindle Fire Hd
Amazon will ask you to confirm to which device you intend to transfer it. On a Mac it will be saved to your Downloads folder. On a PC, you'll need to choose whether to save or run the file. Opt to save it and choose a destination.

The Best of 2005–2013 is a greatest hits album by American heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold, released by the band's former label, Warner Music Group, on December 2, 2016. The album covers songs from all of the band's albums released under Warner Bros., from City of Evil to Hail to the King, including covers and one-off singles released in between.(1) The band members themselves have not endorsed or supported this album due to it being released without their consent, knowledge or involvement. The album has since been removed from digital streaming services.
Background(edit)
In early 2016, Avenged Sevenfold left Warner Bros. for Capitol Records, resulting in a legal battle between the record label and the band.(2) In response to the allegedly-leaked release date of the band's seventh album, falsely leaked and titled Voltaic Oceans with a December 9 release date by Chris Jericho over Instagram, Warner Bros. announced The Best of 2005–2013, to be released one week prior to the leaked release date, on December 2. However, the band officially surprise-released the album as The Stage on October 28, to which the label quickly changed the release date to capitalize on traffic, but reverted to its December 2 release.

Singer M. Shadows has openly expressed disdain about the release of the greatest hits album without the band's knowledge, stating 'You’re gonna try to put this record out right before our new record just to undercut us and try to confuse the casual fan, like, 'Is this the new record? Or is that the new record?' Or parents buying stuff for Christmas. So it's just really childish.'(3)

A song about the people yearning to bring back and greet the coming Christian king to rule in the name of God's son Jesus Christ in the near future. In order to save our Western society that has been polluted and corrupted by the ungodly intellectual illuminated illuminaries, working with the old Bolshevik communist, Zionist Nazi slave driven mentality, that has been used on us with the throat cutters now, to create and accomplish their agenda for the one world order rule, who calls themselves the globalists. That are against hailing to the coming of the king, like they have always been, and now who likes for us to be against the Christian 'czar' Vladimir Putin that are demonizing him like he is the new Hitler to scapegoat for war, and don't want to be surfing themselves to 'Hail To The King' and serve God.

The song is not about a tyrant king. Because even after the the rebellion of the people in that interpretation happens they still hail to the king. I think the song is about the second comming of the messiah. Every interpretation I have come across that says otherwise leaves out the part about being born again but it's to late to atone. There are so many other correlations to be made with him being referred to as the king, the one, standing in the sun or the light. The bad has references to god in there songs all the time this is no different.

It's a long shot but I think of this song as the rein of Hitler. 'Watch your tongue or have it cut from your head' Those who opposed Hitler were suppressed in violent ways. This song is clearly about a tyrant king who suppressed opposition. It's an idea, but it's probably not about him especially coming from a band like this.

Hail to the King is an occult song. It's referencing Saturn which rules death, decay, slowness, cold, sharpness, rings, winter, grief, solemnity and time. 'Watch your tongue or have it cut from your head' - Saturn is a very serious entity. He doesn't joke or love. As the angel Cassiel who governs Saturn once said, 'I leave love to others.' 'Save your life by keeping whispers unsaid' - Saturn is quiet which is manifest in winter silence for example. So this line is saying respect Saturn and rest in the stillness. 'hildren roam the streets, now orphans of war' - War brings about death. Losing one's parents to war brings mourning and grief. All Saturnian characteristics. 'Bodies hanging in the streets to adore' - Don't fear death, come to terms with it by understanding it's place in life. 'Royal flames will carve a path in chaos' This carving a path could be a reference to the shape of Saturn's knife, the scythe. 'Bringing daylight to the night' This line references bringing attention and action to the night which Saturn rules. 'Death is riding into town with armor,' Pretty clear 'They've come to take all your rights' You can't have rights if you're dead. 'Hail to the king, hail to the one Kneel to the crown, stand in the sun Hail to the king' Saturn is king because he rules time and death. Therefor, let's honor him as king. Also, historically Saturn has always been worshipped and there is even confusion between the Sun and Saturn hence 'Stand in the sun' line. Some believe Saturn was once a sun which undergone a change with cataclysmic consequences on earth. Others believe Saturn always was the planet that the 'sun' referred to. 'Blood is spilt while holding keys to the throne Born again, but it's too late to atone No mercy from the edge of the blade Dare escape and learn the price to be paid' This refers to the inevitability of death and Saturn's influence on our lives. Saturn strikes us with cold, sharp fear. The blade is another reference to the Scythe. Saturn doesn't do love so if you try to escape his grasp, you WILL lose and indeed learn the 'price to be paid' for your arrogance. The rest is pretty clear as well. Hope this helps. This is coming from a magician. Additionally, Saturn worship is seen in wedging RINGS, halos above the heads of saints (a reference to Saturn's rings) and countless other customs. It's deep. This is coming from a magician who evokes spirits. Honoring them in music is definitely an excellent way to reap the benefits of their office.

How to Recover Deleted Files in Windows
Tossed an important file into the trash and need to get it back? If you’ve been backing up your data, you’ll have no problem recovering deleted files on your PC. If not, you can still try a few other techniques to restore deleted files on your PC. Let’s get into the art of Windows file recovery.
1. Check the Recycle Bin
Your first stop is also the easiest. When you delete files, they’re not actually lost permanently. Instead, they’re transferred to your computer’s Recycle Bin, where they sit until you decide to empty it. Until then, they’re only “temporarily deleted.” Here’s how to recover deleted files from your Recycle Bin in Windows 10:
On your desktop, open the Recycle Bin by double-clicking it, or by right-clicking it and selecting Open.
Tumblr media
Find the file you want to recover, then right-click it and select Restore. This will return the file to its original location on your computer.
Tumblr media
If you’re not sure where it was originally stored, right-click it and select Properties, and you’ll see the file’s original storage location listed as the Origin. After you restore it, it’ll go back there.
Tumblr media
After restoring this file, we can see that it’s back on the Desktop, where it used to be.
Tumblr media
Computers can often slow down over time as they accumulate heaps of junk files, bloatware, and other useless data, and deleting these can help bring an older PC back to speed. But if you’ve trashed something that you actually want, have a quick peek in the Recycle Bin, and you might just get lucky.
After you empty your Recycle Bin, these files become “permanently deleted.” But it’s not as finite as it sounds — there are multiple methods for how to recover permanently deleted files from the Recycle Bin. Read on to learn more about what you can try next.
2. Check other folders
Sometimes, the thing you want isn’t where you think you left it last. This is as true for digital files as it is for your keys, glasses, or TV remote. You might have either saved or moved your files to a different folder than you thought.
To search your system for a file, click the Windows icon in the lower-left, then begin typing the file’s name. If you can’t remember the name of the file, try typing any relevant keywords you can think of. Any results will appear in the window you see.
Tumblr media
3. Use Windows System Restore
Windows includes an automatic backup feature known as System Restore. When activated, it’ll allow you to revert your computer to a previous state known as a “restore point.” Windows creates restore points from time to time, allowing you to reset your computer to one of these configurations should something go wrong, and you can also create your own.
Usually, people use System Restore to fix software issues, but will System Restore recover deleted files? Well, it depends. If you’ve deleted an important Windows system file or program, System Restore will help. But it can’t recover personal files such as documents, emails, or photos.
Here’s how to use System Restore to recover deleted files:
» Using System Restore in Windows 10, 8.1 or 8
For this example, we’ll show you how to recover deleted files in Windows 10. If you’re using Windows 8.1 or Windows 8, you’ll follow a similar procedure.
Open the Control Panel by clicking the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of your screen. Scroll down and select Windows System, and then click Control Panel from the drop-down menu. You can also simply type “Control Panel” after opening the Windows menu.
Tumblr media
In the Control Panel, click System and Security.
Tumblr media
In the System and Security menu, click System.
Tumblr media
Click System Protection on the left-side menu.
Tumblr media
In the System Protection menu, click System Restore.
Tumblr media
If the button is unclickable, it means that System Restore is currently deactivated, and you won’t be able to use it to recover any deleted system files. If you’d like to use it in the future, here’s how to turn it on:
Click Configure.
Select Turn on system protection, then click OK.
Tumblr media
After clicking System Restore, hit Next.
Tumblr media
Choose a restore point that will (or should) contain the data you want to recover. Then, click Next.
Tumblr media
Click Finish, and your computer will go back to that restore point.
Tumblr media
» Using System Restore in Windows 7 or Vista
Here’s how to recover deleted files in Windows 7 via System Restore. It’s pretty similar to what you’d do on Windows 10, and you can also apply these steps to Windows Vista. Again, System Restore will not recover personal files — it will undelete files that are directly relevant to the Windows system.
Click the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of your screen to open the Start menu. Then, click Control Panel.
Tumblr media
In the Control Panel, select System and Security.
Tumblr media
Click System.
Tumblr media
Click System Protection in the left-side menu.
Tumblr media
Click System Restore.
Tumblr media
If the button is greyed-out and unclickable, you’ll need to first activate System Restore for your drive. Here’s how:
Click Configure.
Tumblr media
Choose whether you’d like to restore your system settings and files, or just your system files. After making your selection, click Apply, then OK.
Tumblr media
After clicking System Restore, hit Next to begin the process.
Tumblr media
Choose a restore point that was created before your data was deleted, then click Next.
Tumblr media
Click Finish to confirm that you’d like to return your system to the selected restore point. Your computer will restart, so make sure to save anything you’re working on first.
Tumblr media
4. Restore from a backup
If you’ve been regularly backing up your files, you’re in luck — you’ll already have perfectly good copies of your files ready to go. Making backups of your valuable files is your best defence against accidental file deletions. Backups are also a great asset in the fight against ransomware, which can encrypt your files and hold them hostage unless you pay a ransom fee. If you have recent backups, you can ignore the ransom demands, delete the ransomware, and simply restore from your backups.
Even if you haven’t been performing manual file backups, your computer might have been doing this automatically for you. For example, Microsoft’s OneDrive cloud service offers automatic backups. It’s possible that you might have backup copies waiting for you in your OneDrive account, or in any other similar services that you’ve used.
You can easily create a backup of your entire computer right within Windows by creating a system image. It’s a snapshot of your PC and everything on it from that moment in time, letting you revert to this state should something go wrong in the future. If you’re planning on removing unwanted apps and other junk files, back your system up first in case you make a mistake.
5. Use data recovery software
Even if you don’t have any backup copies of your deleted files lying around, you can still try digging them out of your hard drive with specialized data recovery software. These tools can resurrect permanently deleted files from a drive, even after you’ve emptied your recycle bin.
One popular option is Recuva by CCleaner. It’s a flexible and powerful tool that can help you recover files after a computer crash, or if one of your drives becomes damaged or reformatted. It also works as flash recovery software, meaning it can pull files from rewritable storage such as USB drives and external hard drives.
In order to reduce the risk of your computer overwriting the deleted files on your drive with new data, you may want to stop using the drive until you’ve had a chance to try and recover your data.
6. Hire a professional
If none of the above techniques has successfully recovered your files, it might be time to hand things over to the pros. Have a look in your area for a reputable data recovery specialist or service, and consider letting them take over from here. If your drive somehow gets damaged or destroyed, you can hire someone to salvage your data before you dispose of your device.
In the USA, you can expect to pay upwards of $100 per hour for a qualified data recovery specialist and lab. They’ll have all the equipment, software, and most importantly, the training that they need in order to bring your valuable files back to life. Find a provider who will offer you a complimentary consultation so that you know the potential costs before you agree to pay.
You may run into companies that charge on a per-gigabyte basis — if so, look elsewhere. This type of pricing can quickly spiral out of control. Instead, find a provider who charges hourly, just as you would when hiring a lawyer or auto mechanic.
Restore from AVG Quarantine
Many antivirus tools, such as AVG AntiVirus FREE, place suspicious files in quarantine while they’re evaluated for malware. Files in the quarantine can’t execute, nor can they access other parts of your system or data. AVG’s antivirus quarantines files automatically when running an antivirus scan, or when its protective tools detect the potential presence of malware.
Have a peek in your antivirus tool’s quarantine section. It may be the case that your antivirus removed a non-malware file, so you can recover it from the quarantine if you’re sure that it’s safe.
Keep your PC clean without deleting files
It’s easier than you think to delete important files while cleaning out your PC. Instead, keep your computer running lean and fast with AVG TuneUp. It’ll scan your entire device for junk files and bloatware, letting you remove them safely without putting your valuable data at risk. Speed up your PC, reclaim your storage space, and optimize your computer for top performance — while leaving your important files and folders right where they belong.

Tumblr media

A Tumble down the wrong rabbit hole.
This is not an easy or light one to start with but all stories have a beginning. After finishing at work, a friend of mine asked me to come to a house party across the river from my home. She said it would be fun I didn't have to worry about buying any drinks cause she had enough vodka for both of us. I hadn't been out in a while so after being a bit resistant due to college and a performance the next day.  eventually I agreed and made my way to meet an already wasted Debbie let's call her. When we got to the party the vibe was strange and everyone there was over 20, I was only 16 at the time. They seemed friendly enough though and the night was going well. After a few too many drinks Debbie was pretty out of it. Her boyfriend at the time, let's call him Dave and I decided it was time to take her home. We managed to get to Debbie's without too many issues and dave put her to bed. Debbie's  grandma offered for me to stay there but I had college in the morning and I didn't want to wake up any earlier than I already had too so I told her it was okay, I've done this walk a thousand times, I'll be fine. She insisted that Dave should walk me home but I assured her I would be perfectly fine by myself as I had been many times before. I left walking through the empty streets, through the bus depot. As came to the bridge before the hill i had to walk up to get to my house, I realised I had left the umbrella I borrowed from my mum for my journey to the party, the umbrella I had promised not to forget to bring home. "Shit". Through my drunken eyes i sent a text to my friend Debbie telling her I had left my umbrella at the party and to get it for me in the morning and I would come by later that day to get it from her. Thinking she would see it in the morning when she woke up. However the text wasn't as detailed as I thought and all it read was "left my umbrella at the party, get it for me please! Xxxxxxxxxx". Just as I was crossing the bridge I got a text sent from Debbie's phone but read something along the lines of "hey it's dave I have your umbrella I can meet you at the pc world" a few minutes from where I was. I messily replied "yeah okay thank yooouuuuu xxxxx" thinking of it as harmless. As I got to the pc world, he was already there waiting with smile on his face. And my umbrella in his hand, I thanked him for coming all the way to bring it to me and said I should probably be getting home. He said that he felt he should walk me home, I said I would be fine but he insisted so I agreed. As we walked the last 15 minutes to my house we talked the whole way back about random stuff most of which I can't actually remember but I do remember he was doing different accents and I'll hand it to him he was charming and to a certain extent attractive and had the ability to make me laugh. As we got to my house we stood outside and talked for a while, he was continuing to do different accents, I laughed, head spinning knowing I should get to bed. He tells me "I can't remember the way back to Debbie's". I explained to him, several times. I told him I had to go inside and he said "I should probably walk you to your door" "Okay" as I walked up the Stone steps. I put my key in the door, opening it quietly as to not wake my sleeping family. I was inside now, he looked at me and said "maybe we should kiss" smiling at me. I laughed, shutting the door in his face. I proceeded up my stairs and into my bedroom. Just as i was getting ready to get into bed, my message tone rings again. It's from a number that I don't have saved on my phone it read " heey, I've forgotten how to get to Debbie's , I replied explaining once again but he stated he didn't understand. So I went back down, back outside. once again he had trapped me in a long conversation drifting away from the reason I came back outside. He finally told me he understood and said he would once again walk me to my door. We walked up and I had left the door open, he said "maybe I should come inside" I know I should of said no, go back to Debbie's but something stopped me and I found myself directing him into my house with my hand. We sat and talked for a while, he was making me laugh and I admit there was flirting involved. Looking back my attraction to him makes my skin crawl. We got on to the subject of how the tights I was wearing was fully of ladders and holes, which for me was the way in which I liked to wear them. He decided to take it upon himself to count the holes and I let him, forgetting about the one in the place he shouldn't of been touching. He found said hole and just started touching me, which I did not refute. It felt good, I hadn't been touched like that before I didn't want it to stop. I knew what I was doing was wrong and I should stop but Debbie and I had a tricky past in terms of boys and bitching and back stabbing and I admit that at this moment in time I wasn't a good person and I thought as much as I could in my drunken state "fuck it" we were kissing now, I had mounted him like a horse. Kisses down my neck, hands exploring my body. I had never thought that someone as attractive as him would be interested in me in that way, I went with it. We were both naked now, me still on top straddling him as he tried to place himself into me.  I asked if he had any condoms. I thought to myself I had already done everything but. I may aswell go the whole 9 miles. He said he didn't, so I went upstairs to grab one from my room. I returned, he put the condom on and attempted to enter me again, and again and again. It wasn't going to go in. Maybe due to the largeness of his penis or my subconscious guilt of wanting to fuck my friends boyfriend. After a while of trying, it wasn't happening. I told him "I'm too tight, it's not going in" but he was persistent that it would, taking off the condom that had been no use, we attempted another position. Him on top this time, trying his hardest to get it in, he looked at me saying "have you ever done this before" "no" I replied nervously. He just returned to trying to put it in, as if he had not heard what I had just said. That I was a virgin and it may seem silly to you but where I'm from the fact that I was still a virgin was a big one, if I had to guess I was one of the last to loose it in my year and it was joked about for years cause I hadn't  opened my legs to a boy yet. When he dismissed my answer that's when I wanted him to stop. I told him "let's just give up. It's not going in, I'm too tight and you're too big" he continued to try and get it in, "stop" as I started to try and push his body off of mine, trying to push as hard as my body would let me to get him off as he continued to push onto me, me pushing again him to release myself from him. It felt as if his whole body weight was crushing down on me as he still continued to try and put it in. I started to say "Dave no, stop. It's not going to go in" by this point he wasn't listening anymore, as if I was mute. and I couldn't escape, I didn't know what to do. He finally managed to get just the tip in causing me to scream out in pain as he covered my mouth, so I didn't wake my parents. As the tip went in his grip and weight lifted off me, I could push him off of me. I couldn't believe what had just happened and it felt like it hadn't. It had all happened so quickly like a dream. Between my legs was aching in pain as if he had broken it. I told him he had to leave and go back to Debbie go back to his girlfriend as I put the closest clothes to me I could find onto my body. He was still smiling like he didn't notice what he had just done and tbh at the time I didn't realise it myself. He said he wanted to stay but I told him that if my parents found him in the morning they'd be mad and if Debbie awoke to find him not next to her she would be even more angry. He understood when I said that and put his clothes on. I didn't know how to feel in that moment. I don't think I felt anything apart from a slight emptiness within me, but I was still too drunk to address that. I showed him out the door. As he kissed me gently reverting back to how he was before, I will never know til this day why but I kissed him back. I couldn't comprehend what he had actually done to me and for a while And it took me even longer to tell Anyone. I went upstairs once he had left and passed out to get the few hours of sleep I had left before waking up for college. In the morning, I woke up and started to remember the night but only in fragmented parts but with a black block in the middle.i had a text from David saying "story- I walked you home and we started talking. True" that triggered that I had mounted him like a horse and is kissing and him attempting to put it in, but the memory was still incomplete, that black block still there. We exchanged a few texts between us planning to meet on Saturday, side note- what the fuck was I thinking, was I crazy?!?!? I was so naive that I had blocked out what had happened and romanticised him. Then I text my friend Mille saying  " I had done something bad the night before and that I thought I may technically not a virgin anymore, judging by the pain" she called me it seemed seconds later, asking me "who", I said "Dave"  I heard her gasp in disbelief, "I'm getting  off the bus and coming to yours right now" "okay". She ended the call and a few minutes later she was knocking on my door "are you okay" she asked. "Yeah I think so, don't remember much but I've fucked up" It was like I remembered the party and taking Debbie home ,but I couldn't remember what exactly had happened with Dave. I told her what I could remember and I got ready and Millie and I got the next bus we could to college, Millie running super late, I had rehearsals for a performance I had that evening. we went our separate ways and would talk about it after her lesson, in our break between lessons we were all at the smoking area and everyone was asking me what happened and I told them what I could remember everyone was saying how Debbie was going to kill me, "you need to talk to her" yeah I know I replied, I don't even know what to say to her" Millie and Louise said they would give me 24hrs to tell her before they did. Keeping in mind they did not know the truth at this moment in time. By lunch time the next day at college Debbie knew, her name glowing up on my phone at lunch time I knew I couldn't answer. I didn't know what to say, at this point I still couldn't remember much and what i did remember would only hurt her to hear. to this day though I remember the pain and bleeding I had for 3 days after, this wasn't my period, he had tore me. I sat in college all day contemplating what I should do, what I should say. Once Debbie found thus did everyone. But the story she told was not the truth. She wrote a status along the lines of "devastated found out one of my best friends slept with my boyfriend, and in my own house downstairs" as if I was the one who seduced him and convinced him to take my virginity. the status was over flooding with comments telling Debbie how sorry they felt for her and how I was a slut and a whore and every other name under the sun. My face was even published in the comments outing me directly for what I had done. Might I add an old photo of me with dark hair, even though I was blonde at the time which is strange. Once I saw this status I was half upset and half expected it once I knew she knew. But she had gotten all the facts that she could of found out from Millie and Louise completely wrong, even though I did not tell them much, only what I could remember myself. So in her head she had come to the conclusion that this was the case. Me being immature asf also wrote a status saying nothing is black and white. As you can tell this didn't go down to well and caused quite the stir. Eventually I deleted cause I couldn't be fucked to continue the argument. Some time passed and not a lot changed and Debbie stayed with Dave quite a while afterwards and for obvious reason Debbie and I didn't talk for a very long time. Apart from once when we met up face to face So I could tell her What I remember from the night. After a while I managed to bring the whole night together and I remembered everything. I just started to blame myself, thinking I shouldn't of let him in my house, I shouldn't of flirted. None of this would of Never happened. if I attempted to talk to Debbie and tell her the truth she wouldn't believe me. Eventually a year or so on I told Millie and some others who were close to me the complete story, obviously not all the gory details like in this recollection of it. Only enough for them to get the drift of it and they understood. I told them that Debbie would never believe me and I didn't see the point in telling her. Eventually Debbie found out the truth from someone else I think during a phone conversation and I knew I had to talk to her so I then myself told her the truth at a engagement party we had both been invited to. By this time they had broken up and I hoped she had been released from his mental grip. I told her it wasn't as she had thought this entire time, and in only so many words that he had forced himself on me after I said no. She replied saying how he was a bit rough in the bedroom, giving off that vibe sometimes when they would sleep together. Just by looking at her body language to this day I know she never will and never had believed me and how can I blame her? I saw him in the street about a few months after it happened, as I was walking from a funeral in the centre I had been at with Millie and louise and Debbie was there too. I was heading back to college, for my last couple of lesson. When I saw him it was if my heart stopped and had made its way to throat and sat there beginning to thump as we walked parallel to each other. I going the opposite direction to him. As he passed me I caught my breathe and tried to stop my self from going into panic mode. I got myself onto the bus and sat down. I felt my eyes start to well and tears started streaming down my face, I sent a text to Millie saying " I just saw Dave and now I'm siting on the bus crying". Millie was still with Debbie at this point, opening the message assuming it would be something completely different, Debbie saw the text and questioned Millie " does she fancy him" d o e s s h e f a n c y h I m. Wow.  I heard she had even asked him about it once she found out what I had told those I thought I could trust. I asked what he had said to her and as I suspected he had denied everything. I don't know what story he told her or how he said it happened, I think for a while he denied it completely, saying he was too drunk too remember anything but I knew that was bullshit, I would of never have gotten that text the next morning, from him. Luckily he lives no where near me and I've only seen him one other besides that time in the street, in these 4. That being during my time working in a fast food restaurant on the tills and he came in to get food, unluckily I felt how I felt that day in the street I had to go out into the kitchen to get myself away from him and prevent myself from having a panic attack. The saddest thing about this story is not what happened that night but the fact that this is not the only chapter containing situations much like this one and if every girl ever wrote anything like this a lot of them would be writing similar situations, they do nothing about and sit on for their whole lives. The shame and guilt builds up inside of you like a tumour and in the end it eats you alive . I don't want to be one of those people anymore and I don't want to be silent anymore.

7 reasons your email marketing campaigns aren’t generating revenue
Tumblr media
Your database is growing, your emails look great, and you make it into recipients’ inboxes. You even have a decent open rate.
And yet, revenue from your email channel just isn’t growing.
If that sounds familiar, there’s no need to panic.
Here, we’ll dive into ten reasons your emails aren’t generating revenue - and how you can turn the situation around. We’ll also touch on why your emails might be contributing to more sales than you think.
1. You don’t have an engaged email list
Increasing visitor identification rate is key to increasing sales uplift from emails.
The more shoppers you can recognize, the more opportunities you have to follow up with relevant email content.
Strategically placed data capture forms can be combined with targeted popovers to increase your count of engaged subscribers.
Remember to be mindful of timing. Give shoppers the opportunity to view your website so they know what you have to offer before the popover appears.
When Feel Good Contacts introduced targeted popovers with personalized offers, the company saw a 333% increase in sign-ups month-over-month. And a significant portion of subscribers went on to make a purchase.
2. You’re sending generic marketing emails
Email remains consumers’ preferred way to be contacted by brands. So it’s tempting to adopt a one-size-fits all approach to email marketing.
Email remains consumers’ preferred way to be contacted by brands. So it’s tempting to adopt a one-size-fits all approach to email marketing.
But if you’re relying on this “spray-and-pray” approach, you’re almost certainly missing out on incremental revenue. There’s no guarantee that offers will be relevant to customers’ needs, or stimulating enough to drive conversions.
Audience segmentation lets you design very specific messages to help you meet your marketing KPIs. Here’s how it works:
1. Define a group of target customers
2. Send them a message that’s appropriate to their needs
3. Specifically tailor the message to increase conversions
A good first step is to segment your email list based on browse and purchase behavior. This will allow you to customize emails according to shoppers’ interests, life stage and place in the buying journey.
Research by Mailchimp has found that campaigns with basic segmentation achieve a click rate 100.95% higher than non-segmented campaigns.
Here are some simple ways you can slice and dice your email marketing list:
Shoppers who engaged with certain products or categories. For example, sending a brand-specific newsletter.
Shoppers who are very engaged on your website, but haven’t purchased yet. Convert these browsers into buyers by sending personalized coupons.
Lapsed shoppers who have regularly bought from you but haven’t done so for a while. Let them know you miss them and remind them why they love your brand.
Customers who frequently make a purchase. Keep them updated on new products, but don’t bombard them with special offers that will cannibalize their order value.
Shoppers viewing high value products. Identify shoppers who are viewing your high margin products, and send targeted emails to get them over the line to conversion.
3. Your email content isn’t compelling
If content doesn’t resonate with customers at the moment they open an email, you can’t expect them to click through and convert.
Dynamic email content is the easiest way to cut through the noise. Images and messaging are automatically personalized at the moment of open, based on the customer’s interests, their location, the date and time, or a combination of those.
While segmentation is about sending customers the most appropriate message, dynamic content is about making that message compelling.
Here are some ways to add dynamic content to bulk and triggered emails:
Personalized banners: A dynamic banner allows you to show each customer the image that’s most likely to spark their interest.
Product recommendations: Product suggestions can be based on individual behavior, crowdsourced data, business priorities, or a combination of all three.
Personalized coupons: Coupons can follow shoppers from emails to the website to maximize exposure and redemption rates.
Location and weather-based content: For instance, basing product recommendations on the local weather, or including a real-time weather forecast.
Marketers can also leverage real-time content to drive urgency, build trust, and encourage those all-important conversions.
Animated countdown timers: These can be used across channels to build excitement and let customers know about important dates.
Popularity messaging: Highlights trending items to build excitement and increase trust in your products.
Social proof: We found that 61 percent of customers look for product reviews when making a purchase, while more than half (56 percent) find star ratings helpful. Pull star ratings into product emails to reduce purchase hesitation.
4. You aren’t sending real-time emails
Promotional emails are a great way to stay on shoppers’ radar, and can be a good source of revenue.
Triggered emails take this to the next level by treating customers as individuals, sending them messages based on an action they’ve just taken.
Customers who raise a certain signal (such as abandoning a shopping cart) are automatically sent an email - or series of emails - that encourages them to take the next action (such as completing a purchase). This helps you get content in front of customers at the moment they’re most engaged.
When marketers send both abandoned cart and abandoned browse emails, sales uplift can exceed 10%.
Other common triggered emails include:
Welcome emails (when a shopper signs up for the newsletter)
Wishlist emails (when a customer abandons their Wishlist)
Price drop alerts (when a product they previously browsed has dropped in price)
Back in stock alerts (when an out-of-stock product they browsed comes back in stock)
Purchase complete emails  (when a customer completes a purchase)
By connecting with customers at these key moments, you can provide them with valuable information and encourage them to take further action.
5. You aren’t actually recovering carts
Even if you’re already sending triggered emails, you probably aren’t doing everything in your power to recover lost revenue.
Many companies think they have a cart abandonment system in place, when in fact they’re only dealing with checkout abandonment.
Checkout abandonment is when a user has logged in and started the checkout process. But many users abandon their shopping before that stage.
Our research found that while 12% of visitors will cart a product, only 8% will make it to the checkout, and a mere 4% will complete a purchase.
There are two ways you can combat this:
When a new visitor abandons a cart
Serve an exit intent popover to let the customer know they have items in their basket, and offer to email them a reminder of their cart if they sign up.
When an existing subscriber abandons a cart
You need to be able to recognize the shopper and send them a cart recovery email. If you can only recognize subscribers who are currently logged in, you’re leaving money on the table. Make sure you can identify shoppers who have logged in in the past, using cookies. Also think about shoppers who have never identified themselves on the current device, such as regular visitors who normally use their PC but who are using their smartphone this time. Do you have other methods to recognize these shoppers - for instance, when they click through from a marketing email or submit a form?
6. You’re testing at random or not at all
If you aren’t testing at all, you’re leaving it up to chance that emails will generate revenue.
Think of a test as a survey of your customers. You give them two or more different versions of an email campaign, and their actions tell you which one works best. This lets you make data-driven decisions about future email and website content.
But if you’re randomly testing, there’s no guarantee of contributing to overall revenue goals.
By taking a scientific approach to split testing, marketers can make a demonstrable impact on conversions and sales. There are six steps to implementing a successful test:
Define your high-level goals (e.g. to generate more revenue from emails)
Observe the obstacles to achieving those goals.
Hypothesize how best to overcome those obstacles.
Split test and measure the results to see if your hypothesis holds true.
Implement the change or revert to further testing.
7. Email is generating more revenue than you think
There are two variables to consider when measuring email attribution.
What action did the customer take when they received the email? And how long should the campaign be tracked?
It’s worth thinking carefully about how you weigh up these variables. By placing too much emphasis on direct email clicks, you risk undervaluing the impact of marketing emails.
Data from the DMA’s 2019 Consumer Email Tracking Report shows that customers are saving your emails for later, or taking indirect routes to your products. Consider this longer purchase cycle when tracking campaigns. The action taken as a result of the email may take place hours or even days later.
Give yourself a chance
There’s no “perfect” approach to email marketing. Shoppers won’t always be in buying mode when they open their inbox. And what resonates with customers today might not resonate tomorrow.
But with personalization and testing, you give yourself a fighting chance of reaching customers with the right content, at the right time. Free Movies And TV Watch About Couchtuner and Solar Movies
I know I am not the first or the last writing an article about this, but I think you will find my article interesting, because it will teach you precisely how to get movies to see through your computer, tablet computer or phone for free via couchtuner and solar movies.
Tumblr media
When I first saw the applications on the internet, I thought to myself this can not be really good, because I figured I would need some device, a dish washer, a decoder and the PC will do is simply stream the data out of the satellite decoder to my computer, but from curiosity I purchased it to try it out, since it's a money back guarantee so I figured out that there's no danger in that.
It seems I was wrong, you basically only need one program to do this, since once I downloaded and installed it, I managed to watch almost 4000 satellite channels on my PC. The stations were from all around the world, and included everything from news stations to audio stations.
But what the software really does, and I've found that by myself, is grab the broadcasts from different internet sites, and play with it on your PC, I managed to discover this since I have a firewall, and each time I tried to change the stations I got a warning from it, saying it was trying to access a different Internet Address. Putting one and one together, I figured out This Internet Address was actually the one that the TV station was broadcasting on.
After finding this out, I was a little disappointed, believing that it would be easier for me to simply look for the internet sites, rather than buy this program, nevertheless after thinking it out I realized the following:
What's better?
1. It's very hard to collect 4000 links, and it requires a whole lot of time.
2. I Must load the whole internet site, watch all the content of this web and never Just the broadcast.
3. I do not know which stations broadcast on the internet.
So basically, the programmers have put in a great deal of effort in collecting numerous stations in 1 list, it's well worth the purchase price, it saves a whole lot of time in web searching and it offers the best solution to watch TV channels from all over the world on your PC.
Well, since you pay only once, to receive the software, it's similar to buying a dish and a decoder, and then you can use them forever at no cost, this is a lot cheaper than that, and it just requires an online connection, and you download it, and in about 2 minutes you are in a position to watch satellite tv on your computer. How long would it take to put in a dish? Think about it.
There are many apps, what is the best? Well, I find"Satellite TV On PC" to be the best, even if the website design of their home page isn't that attractive, it provides the highest quality, and also the maximum number or stations. After buying this one, I have purchased other applications believing I'll find better deals, but unfortunately I didn't.
Basically I urge couchtuner, because it is time saving, cheaper and it turns your computer into an extra TV, for those individuals who keep fighting over the remote.
The elevated presence associated with Solar Movies has led to the true movie business to concentrate increasingly on these types of blockbuster movies, relying on all of them for immediate earnings to strengthen their creating while more compact movies have a more easygoing road for victory.
The good aspect of Downloading Movies in the view in the movie businesses, is this expands the actual profitable life-span of films. Normally, a movie premiered to DVD and Blu-ray, and then will get a roles laden exclusive variant DVD, offers to essentially everybody it is likely to, and it's subsequently reverted to the product sales sections from supermarkets.
youtube
Possessing a service like Netflix or even Love film, however, aged pictures will find new presence. Since these providers have every recommendation methods and person DVD Rentals Online is basically totally free movies, folks end up requesting films they may have just overlooked. To be able to meet which demand, the net rental businesses have to buy additional duplicates, allowing the true movie businesses to make much more profit with solar movies.
