★。・:*:・゚☆ So, back in July... I mentioned I had a PIC-related gift to share with you all. This is what I was talking about. It's an official playlist that I have had SO much fun filling for the past TWO YEARS.
Yes, I started making this playlist in April 2021. I have waited a LONG time to finally release this to the world. Of course, I don't own a single song (I'm very not good at making music LOL) BUT!!! Every song has a relation to Partners In Crime in my head somehow.
Let me explain.
EVERY SONG in this playlist is in it for a reason. This may because of a SINGLE line, a SINGLE quote, a SINGLE strange reference. OR, it may fit the story SO well that it encapsulates the events of an entire scene, chapter, or heck, the ENTIRE comic. And yes, there are one or two songs I put in there that I listened to and went; "... oh my goodness. This is literally the entire comic. I can animate this." And I have not gotten around to animating them yet, because I do not have an iPad, but I WILL ABSOLUTELY BE MAKING SOME AMVs IN THE FUTURE. I GUARANTEE YOU.
NOT EVERY SONG in this playlist is entirely accurate to the story. What I mean by this; there are some songs, like I mentioned, that only relate to PIC through one line of dialogue. This may allude to the fact that the rest of the song has no correlation to PIC AT ALL. But of course...
I WILL NOT SAY WHICH SONGS RELATE THE MOST TO THE STORY. That is for you to discover yourselves. <333
The reason for the addition of the first song... is a bit of a long story. The short version of the story is this; on the 7th of November, 2020, I was listening to that song at a friend's house... and the idea of the comic came to me. Technically, Partners In Crime by Set It Off is the main reason this comic exists. Does this mean the entire story relates to the storyline of that song? I can confirm that while there are similarities, NO. My comic will not end the same way that the song does. If you haven't heard it before, I highly recommend it XDDD
I STILL UPDATE THIS PLAYLIST REGULARLY!!! If I hear a song that somehow relates to PIC, I will not hesitate to add it. So check in every so often to see if it's grown bigger!
YES, SOME OF THESE SONGS MAY SEEM VERY RANDOM. I can assure you that by the end of the comic, most of them will make a lot of sense contextually. Like I said, every song is in it for a reason. But for spoiler reasons, I won’t be sharing why some of these songs are there – some of them MAY imply future events. That’s all I’ll say ^^
YES, I AM OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS!!! If anyone has a song recommendation for the playlist, I will review it myself and decide whether or not I will add it based on its relevance. Please note that I may turn some songs down, but I will appreciate each and every suggestion!!!
By making this public, I am allowing people to follow me on Spotify. I have a ton of other public playlists that you are free to peruse yourselves!!! Most are regular playlists, but there are some very goofy ones there too. I recommend my Ultimate Nerd Playlist (its like Russian Roulette but for your ears).
You may notice a few playlists titled “Works in Progress”. Those will be important later.
But yeah that’s about it!!! Feel free to look through the playlist, leave a heart on it if you like it, and follow me on Spotify to see what I listen to everyday XDDD

“I’m going to get along with my soulmate.” He tells her matter-of-factly. “They’re going to be my best friend.”
“Yeah?” Saeko tips her head at an angle, face so fond it’s embarrassing. “You going to fall in love and all that too?” Tanaka feels his face flush.
“I don’t know!” He crams more cereal into his mouth and crunches it loudly in attempt to drown out her cackle. A lot of people fall in love with their soulmates. Not everyone. But it’s the dream, isn’t it? To find your person, to find your name on them too, and to fall in love. Tanaka’s only nine, so he’s not sure he cares about the love part entirely. It would be nice, maybe. He wrinkles his nose. “But they’ll definitely be my best friend!”

Welcome Home AU Plans
Hi guys! So, I've seen the influx of Welcome Home AUs going around, and I've got a few I'd like to share.
Now, I will preface this by saying I'm no artist, just a humble writer with a passion for a good story. That being said, if anything in my AUs interest you, this also post is blanket permission to make art of my AUs, as long as I am credited. That's all I ask. Oh, and please tag me. I'd love to see them.
So, I've got two of them. I'll start with the shorter one. All titles are a work in progress, and suggestions are appreciated. Asks are open for any and all questions related to either AU.
Dark Magic/ Reincarnation AU:
A long time ago, well before Welcome Home first aired, there was a man with a dream. A very big dream. Something that couldn't be contained in his brain, and took on a life of its own. Or, rather, several lives.
A dark ritual was preformed, bringing ten (10) puppets to life. A show would later be formed around these puppets, but, due to early production budgets, only nine (9) of them actually made it onto the screen. While all the rest of the puppets got their spotlight, Y/N was scrapped.
Y/N was Wally's favorite of the group he had been brought into, well before he was scripted that Barnaby was his best friend. That was, until the incident. Various parts of them can be seen throughout the show. The scrap of mismatched fabric on Wally's chair? That was originally part of Y/N's outfit.
Years passed, and, eventually, they reincarnated as a Human. What happens when they take an interest in Welcome Home, and therefore, their old pal Wally?
Story Keeper AU:
Wally is a being known as The Keeper of Stories, and is responsible for keeping track of, cataloging, and housing all the stories that have ever existed. He has a few other powers, such as the ability to pull characters from their stories, and "watch" the stories in "real" time. Essentially, he has every reader's dream of having an accurate down to the last detail visual production of whatever story he happens to fancy at the time. He can also summon a physical book version of a story, if he feels more like reading.
Home is the Library, the mystical place where all the stories are kept. An ever shifting maze someone could get lost in, if they didn't know their way around. Luckily, everyone here does, so it's not an issue for them.
All of the neighbor's come from different fairy tales/stories. All except for Frank. Now, Frank is a bit different, as he doesn't come from a story. He's the Librarian. It's his job to help the Keeper organize the ever growing collection of tales. While Wally may be able to summon any book at will, someone's gotta put everything away. And that someone is Frank. He's also in charge of the Library whenever something happens to the Keeper.
Being a Keeper is a wondrous job, but it comes at a price. And not just anyone can become a Keeper. Frank and the Library take extra special care to select the newest Keeper, as any mistakes made could be fatal. Wally was specifically chosen for his kind and caring nature, and his more creative approach to problem solving.
The price of the job is high. As the Keeper is usually chosen from a story (it's very rare for a mortal to be picked for the role), there are several..... let's call them complications.
First, all memories of their storied lives are sealed away, so that no conflict of interest arises. The book they were drawn from is then removed from the library, and sealed away. Only Frank and the Library know where it's hidden. It's a system that usually works. Usually.
Enter Y/N. Y/N is a character from Wally's original story. Specifically, his love interest. Now, they were released kind of on accident. A mishap of magical problem solving and a wish gone wrong. Needless to say, when they showed up, Frank and the Library weren't to happy. Wally hadn't been a Keeper for very long, and bringing anyone from their past, especially the love of their life, is bound to cause extreme amounts of trouble.
However, much to Frank's amusement, Y/N doesn't seem to remember Wally or their story all too well. Sure, a few snippets here and there, mostly just their name, but not enough to make it a problem. Not yet anyway. But, Frank keeps an eye on them just in case.
I don't really have everyone else mapped out quite yet. Well, ok, I do have Eddie figured out.
Eddie has trouble remembering which story he's from. So, he often spends his time with Frank, trying to figure out where he fits into all this. Both Frank and Eddie have tried asking Wally to simply locate Eddie's book, but Wally feigns ignorance, claiming that he has no idea either. In all reality, Wally saw how close Frank and Eddie were getting (yes, FranklyDear is included in this AU), and decided that maybe they just didn't need to know because they're happy with each other.
And those are my AUs! Or, rather, what I have of them so far. Hope you enjoyed, and like I said, ask box is open!

hows vernon in bed??
Idk but Vernon... i feel like I vibe with him on this (as if he's gonna vibe with me 🥲🥲)
Vernon may be the type to not have (penetrative) sex so often to not lose the sweet, euphoric sensation.
has a number of playlist for different moods in his music library ;)
...cos he definitely needs music to sustain his rhythm when he gets too engrossed; part of it, he wanted to distract your neighbors from the free entertainment.
one time his work in progress suddenly blasts through the speakers right when he was about to get into his release so he had to cover your ears as he stretches you out.
"Ah sh-shit." his thrusts were getting erratic; he's close. "I'm coming, baby." he was exhaling hard as his shaft creates an inhumane friction against your walls. "oh yeah? haa~" you gasped as he hit the spot multiple times with a force so powerful you were seeing stars in the middle of the day.
"what the-" he suddenly slows down, a bit confused if he should stop or not. "shit, shit, shit." the music transitions from The Weeknd to a series of beats and strings you have not heard once from his “Quickie Fixins” playlist. "ah, fuck it," he mumbles as he covers your ears softly, as he kisses you hard as he goes on; anyway he had to go back immediately at Jihoon’s to revise something right after he’s done with his “loosening out.”
would always start passionately. but would end with anything you least expected.
likes (giving) foreplay and would GIGGLE every time you seem so pissed yet enjoying it;
would be too impatient if he’s the receiving end that he’d whine so much he’d hold a grudge and open it up right after
loves toys, or anything new and would always be open to what’s trendy nowadays
would actually research for various positions while on the heat of sex
Prefers friction over force
does not believe in top or bottom / submissive or dominant titles. he believes anyone can be both depending on who’s needy or has the urge, or completely feeling it
would give you A N Y T H I N G you want.
as long as you do to him, too.
“more, huh? can you take it?” there were tears in your eyes and the vibrator was too generous of its magic, yet you wanted more. “yes, please.” he nods at your plead, turning the power up to what, you lost track now. your moans reached a higher pitch, volume so loud you tried muffling them with your arm although Vernon was quicker to halt the action - he wanted you to let it out. “let me hear those moans baby, they’re music to my ears.”
would mimic your moans to tease you from which he’d earn a playful slap
PLAYFUL YES THAT’S IT, he loves it playful
You got that privilege to enter his studio anytime just to makeout when he perhaps requires his members a pair of shoes to enter outside business matters (i.e just to chill) lol
eating :) you :) out :) is :) a :) hobby :)
“ah, babe, k-keep it down, please.” you whispered when he slurps you so loud, it echoed throughout the room. your legs were almost squishing his head. he was just too good, his tongue might have been his most ripped muscled yet in his entire body. “ssh... t-the others might hear.” “then they hear it, i don’t care.” and proceeds to enjoying his dessert on bed.
would watch any kinds of p*rn with you like no big deal (he’s very selective tho; he never picks anything that were beyond his morals)
loves fucking you from behind
game for a threesome ;)
“what the fuck?” you had just had your release above him, but it seemed like the idea already had your core going crazy. you heard it right, he just suggested a threesome as a birthday gift, even telling you that his friend is on the way to your place. “no, i-i’m okay, Vernon... I’m...” red has tinted you all over, blushing of his totally unexpected offer. “ah... i thought you’re gonna like it, you were totally down for it when we were watching that video yesterday. should have consulted you first, my bad.” there was a hint of disappointment on his voice but nope, you’re not gonna let him down on your special day. “alright, babe. no, come let’s have it. i mean, it’s your surprise for me so... i’ll take it.” you assured him with a smile and soft kiss on his lips. “you sure babe?” you moaned yes on his mouth as you slowly regained your rhythm as you feel him grow once again inside you, excitement already sending electricity to your spine.
sexting after a tiring schedule and have no time to meet you as he got another schedule early tomorrow
hall of famer on cockwarming challenge cos he always wins over you
Cliche but would finger you when watching movies or series after a really heated scene you'd forget about the episode
Did I say he loves toys?
Likes to lick your ears
Advocate of safe sex!!!
ALWAYS the one initiating cleanup, and he can never let you clean by yourself. I just think he's very tidy, especially if he fucks you in his studio

MY THOUGHTS ON iDKHOW'S ALBUM DEBUT: RAZZMATAZZ
So I DON'T KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME have just released RAZZMATAZZ today and heres what I think...
[SIDE A]
¹LEAVE ME ALONE:
A bombastic opening track. Was released in the beginning of August...? Probably? This song just SCREAMS at you with retro futuristic funkiness. It has 8-bity flourishes in the instrumentation and seems to be maybe talking to the same person as Choke (from 1981 E.P.) and the title track Razzmatazz have been (or maybe a separate entity as suggested by the vinyl booklet and Indoctoration?).

Anyway, fantastic track, great opener, and nice mood-setter.
<><><><>
²INDOCTORATION:
It's... eerie. It's not a song in the same sense as Leave Me Alone, despite having a wobbly backing track. It's a spoken interlude that seems to be initiating you into Tellex maybe? It yet again mentions the White Shadows that will be overseeing your progress with Tellex. It seems oddly nostalgic for some reason. That's strange. Overall, solid little piece of lore building that really reinforces the concept aspects.
<><><><>
³MAD IQs:
It's the first song from this album that wasn't released as a single and it made my jaw literally drop. It has a similar lyrical and vocal structure to the opener and New Invention, but what I like is how much they were able to do with it, though it makes you wonder about how far apart these songs were written; but In the context of the albums concept and the Tellex stuff however, it could be interpreted as a corporate decision, this repetition. The minimal instrumentation in the verses with Ryan's sturdy drumming and Dallon's bassline makes me go fucking bananas. It's so fucking great and full of this punchy energy. And the HARMONIES. YES. "Voluntary victim~" "I'm burning~ in your mad IQs" SIR STOP BEING SO VOCALLY TALENTED. Also I think i heard him shriek right before the bridge which? Snazzy. So Mad IQs, energetic track, filled with more of iDKHOWs signature darkness.
<><><><>
⁴NOBODY LIKE THE OPENING BAND:
Ah yes, Opening Band. Ironic considering how often iDKHOW are the opening band, but I'm sure that's obvious, seeing how they usually sing this one at the start of their gigs. It was actually (I think) the first or second song I didn't know how but found through youtube so I might be pretty biased here. It's a sweet sounding change of pace with the instrumentation being made up of only the piano and tambourine that tells of a typical opening band, that no ones ever heard before and likely will never hear again, via a sympathetic narrator with a hint of the typical iDKHOW teasing. In all honesty, it would've worked better as the album opener, which then could've been followed by Leave Me Alone, but it's a nice change of pace overall.
<><><><>
⁵NEW INVENTION:
I already reviewed this song on my other blog right here so imma keep this brief. It shares similar aspects to Leave Me Alone, with the music video concept and song structure, but It manages to darken the narrative, and the choir-esq harmonies sound like ultra bright neon lights that only push this mood further. It still is a magnificent song and by far one of my favourites in the album.
<><><><>
⁶IN THE GALLOWS:
MASSIVE SHIFT IN STYLE HOLY FUCKOLY-. The track opens with a very cutesy old timey little piano intro and starts the verse with a little funny beat. If you don't listen to the lyrics, it sounds like a silly little oldie song. But as we all know, iDKHOW doesn't do silly. The lines "For you, I'd die▪︎Or kill myself▪︎which ever makes you smile," From just the first verse are a prime example of this. The narrators murderous and suicidal intentions have clouded the romantic attraction into obsession- And I kinda like that, in a poetic way. The chorus is a standout, with the calm start to the explosion in the line "I'd swing from the gallows and wave" that just swings at you with a baseball bat to the chest. Oh, and the sax solo? Magnificent. This whole song is a chefs kiss from me.
<><><><>
⁷CLUSTERHUG:
I love the lyrics of this song the most of it all. It sounds like a rebellious teenager wrote it after thinking about how shit their hometown is and wanting to get out. It also incorporates how much the narrator would want to do all this with their crush, adding that slightly goofy and pretend-aloof chorus of "only if you'd like me to I could fall in love with you" as if they weren't already in love or at least that's how I see it. The vibe of this song is more pop-y than the rest of the album, but that's more likely because it was repurposed for Razzmatazz after being originally written for The Brobecks, their older band. It's a nice little tune :).
[SIDE B]
⁸SUGAR PILLS:
This. Will. Get. Stuck. In. Your. Head- and. You. Will. Like. It. Basically, just seems like a song about drugs that, for some reason, reminds me of Gorillaz (who I dont even listen to). But the BASSLINE AGAIN- Jesus help me live. It has more of that energy we saw with the first few tracks and adds even more electronic elements. It's probably my second favourite song from this album that's not a single because of how fun the chorus sounds. What else can I say? I can just imagine myself bopping to this in the car screaming 'SUGAR SUGAR SUGAR PILLS' On a hot day.
<><><><>
⁹KISS GOODNIGHT:
It's so sweet 🥺. It's one of those songs I could imagine a character in a movie singing to someone from a stage. If you want pretty song vibes just listen to it. Because it is a pretty song. And that's all I have to say on it. Now allow me to take a moment and shove it into my pretty song playlist that acts like my personal lullaby machine.
<><><><>
¹⁰LIGHTS GO DOWN:
Yes. F u n k y. Give me that sweet sweet disco energy, thank you. It's just filled with all these *☆~blingy and sparkly~☆* effects, and, combined with the drumming, the result is just glorious. The best part of this song is in my opinion the bridge where it goes darker lyrically and in sound that just naturally slides into another funky-ass sax solo. I can definitely see myself dancing to this at a party and then in later years growing nostalgic for those days.
<><><><>
¹¹NEED YOU HERE:
It's supposed to be happy in tone and hopeful slightly but it just makes me sad. It's a song about how, because Dallon has to tour because it's his job, he has to be away from his family often. And he had nO RIGHT ADDING HIS DAUGHTERS VOCALS AND RECORDINGS INTO THE MIX ITS LIKE HE WANTS US TO CRY. It's not my favourite of the album, not going to lie here, but it's also such a sweet song with nice instrumentals and vibe 🥺 so that's all I'll say.
<><><><>
¹²DOOR:
It seems like this one was written around the time sad ukulele music was really at its peak but am I complaining? Fuck no because this song is great. It just gives it to you straight, that if the narrator ever does anything that the recipient doesn't like, they can always cut them out of their life. It's nice in that regard- you don't usually get songs that don't try to deflect the pain or gain pity. We need more of these kinds of songs. The shortness of it really adds to the effect of this being more like a regularly said thing, even though I'm always a bit sad that it ends so fast. It does, however, nicely close the near end of the album before Razzmatazz.
<><><><>
¹³TOMORROW PEOPLE:
Creepy Tellex thank-you note. You're welcome..? I want no part in your conspiracy tho. Go away weird American corporate man voice.
<><><><>
¹³RAZZMATAZZ:
And there it is. The title track. Like new inventions, I have already reviewed it here on that same blog so this will be brief also and more just thoughts. It's a great closer and is more old timey than most of the songs here as well. And with the last instrumental and sax solo, we come to the albums inevitable end... until next time.
[GENERAL THOUGHTS]
Overall, this was a fantastic little debut for iDKHOW and I loved it. So worth the pre-order. The songs were great and the lyrics were just excellent. My only real criticism is that the song order on Side A was a bit strange. I feel a way to fix this would be to throw Nobody Likes The Opening Band into the beginning, then have Leave Me Alone as a second track, and maybe even switch one of the songs on this side with one from Side B (either Mad IQs or New Invention with something else but then that would be kind of stretching it). Or maybe even switching Clusterhug with Mad IQs or New Invention could work. So in general? Razzmatazz good album. Next question.
<><><><>
Thank you for reading, anyone who happens to see this and have read this. Hope you've enjoyed some of my thoughts on the debut and agreed with at least 2 points I made. See y'all on another review (or shitpost)!

Saor - Forgotten Paths

Just as the new year delivered a new pair of Panopticon songs, so it gave us a new album from Andy Marshall's Saor, a similarly naturalistic and folky solo project blending Scottish, rather than Appalachian, folk music with the transcendence of ambient black metal. In the visceral energy of this typically dark music form, Marshall finds strength and fortitude in the connection he makes with it to the natural world.
Despite Marshall's tendency toward sprawling compositions, their presentation of only three of them with one short outro cut to round them off clocks Forgotten Paths in at just over thrity-eight minutes. And in those thirty-eight minutes, Marshall really doesn't do much more than channel the basic essence of his project.
The opening title song jumps into the rushing swells of blast beats and black metal tremolo picking turned inside out to channel the silent emphatic resilience of the natural world itself portrayed so romantically in the song's lyrics, soon expounded upon by the folky string and woodwind instrumentation that eventually quiets down into some pensive, might I say melodramatic, piano plinking that tries again to build some more blackgazey atmosphere, but it continues to walk in circles until its close without really doing anything vital or rewarding. It's all very sonically pretty, but it's kind of just the status quo for Saor and this kind of atmospheric black metal.
The second song, "Monadh", which poetically details the changing of the light's forms and shadows during the setting of the sun behind mountains, takes its time with an ambient intro of pianos and acoustic guitars that builds into a much more emotive folky blackgaze section than any part of the opening cut. Unfortunately, the song kind of just coasts from there on out for too long until a rather unimaginative cinematic mellow to produce the crescendo Marshall wanted the song to have, but it's not really a new high point for the song, it just slows down and jumps back up to where it was. I'd say at least for a little while it's more interesting than the first song, but not for long enough.
The album's third and longest piece, "Bròn", makes use of some slightly more exclusively metallic instrumentation, more interesting guitar work, and more intermittent use of the usual folk strings and flutes. Aside from the short female vocal feature before the predictable acoustic break and after its meager double-bass crescendo, it's pretty much more of the same meandering through the same structures that the previous two songs underused.
The album closes with the brief (five-minute) acoustic instrumental coda of "Exile", which really just provides an atmospheric cool-down. It's not really a necessary addition to the album, and it just feels like at this point Marshall needed to pad the album with a few minutes to make it just long enough to turn it in, and anyone who's ever written that paper knows they're not turning in the best paper possible.
Forgotten Paths surely captures the uplifting, naturalist atmosphere that has been Andy Marshall's main goal with Saor from the start, but despite it's brevity and consistently beautious aesthetic, it finds itself leaning so heavily on solely the worshipful vibe it cultivates through the swelling of blackgaze guitar progressions and moderate blast beat drumming that constitutes simply the baseline of his work. And it really never ascends much more beyond that, which is incredibly disappointing. It's not that this album needed some memorable melodies (though it could have used some of those), it's that it could have used anything to give it some sense of inspiration besides being out in nature and thinking it's pretty. I'm not saying that's all that Andy Marshall was inspired by here, but it really doesn't sound like he went into this with any other ideas besides capturing the same vibe he's been capturing with other, more notable albums under project for years now. And it didn't seem like he was really able to drum up anything interesting musically or lyrically along the way. It seems like he just went with his usual wide-scope formats and hoped everything would work itself out to fill in the little details on its own. I don't like to say it, but it feels like an overwhelmingly low-effort recycling of an album from Saor. Hopefully this is just a momentary stumble for Andy Marshall, and hopefully Saor is not as creatively expired as this album suggests.
