"hey, uh.." he mumbled. there were no words to proceed what he wanted to do next. he's been thinking about it all evening, but he didnt want to catch eliot completely off guard. it was the non-perfect perfect balance of a sentence and no words at all to accompany his leaning in and kissing eliot on the lips. from an outsider's perspective it might've looked like a foolery between friends, an uncertainty, a tryout, but behind quentins soft, loving smile hid the most confidence he ever had in something. as quickly as he leaned in, he pulled back. but not in a scared way. eliot started smiling as well. laying his hand on qs, he gently grabbed quentins face and kissed him with his whole body.

Okay so I had this realization a couple weeks ago and this post has been in my drafts since before the fucking finale But ANYWAY this was a realization that made my heart go “oh” in the good way and was another reason that A Life in the Day meant so much to me (and why I want the key tattooed on my arm) and then the fucking finale happened and I didn’t want to give an ounce of credit to those jackasses (because I genuinely don’t think they thought about this) BUT I’ve thought about it every day for the last two weeks and if I don’t share I’m gonna explode so here we go

it still makes me laugh when I remember that last night my roommate and I watched 3x05 (they're watching tm for the first time) and when q kissed eliot they just said "holy shit" really loud. even though I've been talking about queliot for 3 weeks now nonstop

what gets me about tm/queliot is that queliot were written in 3x05 to be in love and together romantically after arielle dies but they cut the scenes and made the montage instead. like..... what?!? they were so close and then just changed it last minute for q/ualice. the injustice of it all omg

the truth is tm is very specific w/ how it does queliot - it wants it to be clear enough for us, lgbt viewers, to be pleased but just vague enough that if they needed to, they could (and apparently are) write it off and keep their straight viewers happy cuz they make up the majority

i feel the same way i was also bitter when quentin was talking to his dad last time and didn’t say that he had a family, he said about arielle and his son.. still bitter about it, i feel like people who write these lines haven’t even seen some episodes lmao

this deserved it’s own separate post because... yes, basically. i know a lot of people praise tm for it’s representation when it comes to queliot and while 3x05 and everything about them has been really good and hurts my soul in a great way they also manage to keep it vague enough to not really compromise on it, you know? nvm that the wlw has been severely lacking despite having many opportunities to do so

like the fact that you can easily interpret the 3x05 kiss as a one time thing by it not being something that keeps happening in that timeline and that it IS possible to think of eliot there as an “uncle” (i don’t, they were married and ted had two dads and that’s it for me tbh) always. bothered me. the fact that they didn’t get a goodbye scene before going to the castle like q got with jules and alice also bothers me. the het fest that was last night ep also bothers me.

they miss opportunities to stand up to these kind of things with lines such as the one you mentioned and it’s truly a pity.
