The Heroes Aren't All Wrong
Tumblr media
So a while back, I made a post talking about the villains of the series. About how, in spite of the story framing of them as real people that were hurt by the world and had some points in their ideology, that did not make them in the right. I neglected to talk about the other half. The heroes. This is the other half of that coin. Just as there are fans who support the villains, there are people who decry the heroes, and the society which they protect, at every point available. This is something I disagree with. And for context, I'm trying to keep this succinct as possible. Because I almost when into a rant about how Quirks are seen and treated, but that's a whole other post.
Just to get it out of the way, yes, the society of MHA is flawed. The story makes it very clear at several points with many characters. That I can agree with. What I don't agree with is the other extreme. The problem comes from the fact that people overblow the flaws or only see the flaws presented. The world isn't this horrible dystopia that needs to be torn down to nothing. This simply comes down to a lot of bias. We are only getting to focus on the major characters. These characters need to show how the world is now and the problems with it. It's how the story generates conflict and explores the world made. These are indicative of the issues of society, but not the standard of society. Not every kid is going to be hurt by the system like the villains are. I seriously doubt that every kid who got counseling as a kid turned out as bad as Toga. She should still be helped and adjust to her situation, but it's not the standard.
Because when you look at the rest of the cast and the world as a whole, it doesn't seem anywhere near as bad as fans tend to paint it as. Could it be better? Yes, and the series tries to tackle the issues with the world at large. It's just that not everything is as terrible as fans seem to interpret. The greatest flaw of society was the lack of apathy towards each other and the overreliance on heroes. That, more than anything, is the issue pushed from the series. Because a lot of the problems with the villains come from that apathy and putting hero work on such a pedestal. Tomura, especially, is the biggest victim of that. It's why that is one of the biggest beats in the final war. People are now starting to be proactive and help each other in their own way. This isn't a matter of Hori forgetting issues with the world. It's a matter of people taking a single issue that a certain character may face and blowing it out of proportion.
Tumblr media
And these kinds of misconceptions extend to the heroes as well. There are fans who tend to see nothing but wrong in what the heroes do, especially as they fight the villains. They're mostly shown to be standard heroes fighting criminals. They aren't the oppressive boot stamping any form of revolutionary. Because most villains aren't revolutionaries. Shoot, I'd argue that most of the main villains aren't even like that. The villains are people who hurt others to get what they want. It doesn't matter what motivates them to hurt others. It's still wrong. And the heroes are the ones who point their lives on the line to stop them. Heroes are shown many times to just be people who fight criminals to save others, trying to do the least amount of harm to the villains and the civilians surrounding them.
Do all of them have altruistic motivations? Of course not. There are even some heroes that are pretty bad people. Yet they aren't all scum like Endeavor or killers like Hawks. Those two are an exception, not the rule. There are far more heroes that are good people, if not downright altruistic. The heroes in concept weren't the problem. The greatest flaw that the heroes had was the lack of nuance and understanding of the people they were fighting. Because they were still people with issues, even if they needed to be stopped, there still should be some attempt to reach out and understand them. And the new generations are fighting to try and change that. Izuku is not trying to stop Tomura because he's trying to undermine the status quo. Izuku is trying to stop Tomura because he's trying to commit mass murder against random people that have nothing to do with his issues.
At the end of the day, I think this comes from a lot of misconceptions about the greater society. That being it's a lot more unfair or evil than the series actually intends you to see it. I think that comes from the fact that, by showing flaws with the world, that tells us that what we are seeing needs to be destroyed. That's not the case. It's why people insisting that heroes should stop existing altogether is so confusing to me. Because that doesn't solve the issue. Heroes aren't a problem with society. They do have problems that need to be fixed, but they aren't an inherent evil. They are ultimately just tools. It's all about how they are used to doing their jobs that determines how things go. There just needs to be a shift on both sides of the spectrum. Both in how the heroes operated as figures, and how society as a whole treated one another as real people with problems.

My Hero Academia doesn't take place in Musutafu
I may have posted about this before, but I wanted to make a dedicated post about this. It's commonly known in the Western fandom that 'Musutafu' is the city where UA is located, where Izuku and Bakugou and the Todorokis live, and where pretty much anything important happens. It's basically MHA's equivalent of Gotham from batfam fanfics.
Except, I'm certain this is false, and I have evidence.
For starters, Musutafu is mentioned in canon sources I believe just twice: first in the dust cover from the Japanese volume 2,
Tumblr media
where Backdraft is doing an advertising campaign for the city's fire department. (Photo credit @ shibuyasmash on twitter)
Secondly, it's the name of the middle school where Kirishima and Ashido attended.
Tumblr media
(Photo taken by me, from volume 16)
I did check and the kanji are the same in both sources, so it's definitely the same Musutafu and not two different places. The school is certainly named after the city it's in.
However- and this is the smoking gun: Kirishima and Ashido are from the Chiba prefecture, placing the city of Musutafu in Chiba.
But Izuku, and the rest of the origin trio, live "around Shizuoka prefecture".
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Photos taken by me, of the Ultra Analysis supplementary book)
And while the two prefectures are close by, putting our protagonists (and UA) in Chiba would be a bit of a stretch.
Tumblr media
(From Wikipedia, edited by me)
Actually, if you consider the anime canon, season 7 gave us a location for UA, which matches pretty well with the evidence so far.
Tumblr media
(From MHA season 7)
I've pointed to it right there, on the coast near the western edge of the Shizuoka prefecture.
(This isn't super relevant to the issue at hand, but not a lot of people realize that UA is near the coast- you can see it in this shot from the second season 7 opening, and I think you can also see the ocean from a window sometime in season 1 or 2 when Izuku is talking to Uraraka.)
Tumblr media
(From MHA season 7)
So basically, to wrap things up, I don't believe it's possible that Musutafu is the name of the city where the main events of My Hero Academia take place. The name is barely mentioned in canon sources, and when it is it's somewhere else entirely. My guess is the misonception started early on in the fandom's infancy and spread quickly, especially among fanfic writers. And since canon never really gave us a city name, there was no reason for the fandom to give that up.
But what does it matter? This is such an entrenched misconception that the wiki claims it to be true, and I'm sure if I went to go edit it it'd just be put right back. I've talked to people about this before, and one writer's response basically amounted to "cool, but everybody's expecting Mustafu so that's what I'll continue using".
I guess this is just one of those little inconsequential things that annoys me for no good reason.
(Please go check out this Twitter thread- this is where I learned of this and I'm basically just summarizing the thread here. That one goes into much more detail.)

What if... there is more to Dabi?
Tumblr media
Sometimes I sit and think about stuff because of that I often have weird ideas, theories, headcanons, etc.
For the last few days, I was thinking about Touya and Dabi. How he was super fixated on revenge, EVEN if there were less aggressive ways to solve all of this...
And came to the conclusion:
"What if Touya suffers from DID and Dabi isn't just a way to hide his true identity, but a personality that developed to protect him and seek justice for his harm?"
It's probably super wrong approach but hear me out!
Tumblr media
(From what I read on Wikipedia)
Early childhood trauma, places someone at risk of developing DID.
Traumas like: childhood abuse, violence, neglect, or severe bullying, dysfunctional family dynamics were reported in people suffering from DID
Tumblr media
We all know "hellish" Todoroki family and the way stuff went there.
Touya was a child "created" for greatness by Enji.
From the very being, Enji put into Touya's head that "HE will be the one to suppress All Might himself" and since he was just a child he believed in this.
He believed his father, he wanted to learn, he wanted to achieve this goal, make his father proud, proof he is worth his love and attention because his other siblings were no threat.
Then Shoto was born, and BAM, everything burst like a bubble.
THAT'S WHEN DABI'S DEVELOPMENT COULD START.
Once loved boy with SO many expectations put into him was thrown aside like a rag doll for the sake of little brother.
Neglectful and selfish actions of his own father, mixed with Touya's obsession on being THE CHILD his father once said he was, led him to that cursed mountain and when Enji didn't show up...
That's when Dabi came out.
When we see him wake up after 3 years - it's not Touya, but Dabi.
Dabi - The personality developed to protect Touya, to prove that Touya can be the very thing Enji told he will be, a personality made to PAY BACK for all the harm that child had to go through because of bastard father.
He is like an older brother stepping in front of the younger sibling to take all the harm on himself.
It's not TOUYA doing all those bad things while chasing Enji and going against Shoto - It just Dabi.
Dabi who wants desperately show what Touya is capable of while Touya is just tucked away from all the harm, just waiting to be again acknowledged but not out of pity or because his father feels bad for his own actions but because of what he can be.
Of course, Dabi is so fixated on achieving this goal that he takes EXTREME measures - but it's all for Touya's happiness that he deserved ever since he was born.
Tumblr media
This may make no sens, but this was a train of thoughts that went through my head very recently. The post is probably messy because I am not the best at making such things and putting them 'on paper"
Feel free to comment and tell me what you think about this, BUT please don't be mine or anything. I didn't mean to insult anyone with my limited knowledge.
I am curious of your thoughts

dunno if I should call this a headcanon or a theory and I know Horikoshi just went with what looked cool but the more I think about Dabi's initial design when he came to the League in the context of what we learned about him and what we saw happen to him during the second war, the less sense it makes that his body was already in that state.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
according to the anime, he was learning by watching Endeavor's videos online. before Sekoto, he wasn't learning from any source at all and went about his training intuitively, but after Sekoto I strongly doubt he would be actively practicing his quirk, for a multitude of reasons. his body was still healing from the skin transplantation, the trauma associated with accidentally burning himself to death, plainly not having a place to train a fire quirk, which tend to be flashy and to use your quirk in public, having a provisional license is required, otherwise he risks getting arrested. he did a very good job staying out of the public's eye for the 7 years since he escaped AFO, who was also implied to be unaware of Touya surviving for so long.
so as far as we know, all he did for those 7 years is lay low and be very online. which makes his remark to Spinner hilarious ngl, at least Spinner sprung up to action as soon as he saw something that had inspired him, while Dabi had spent 7 whole years sitting on his very personal trauma and not going to therapy.
Tumblr media
when Giran brings him to Shigaraki, he doesn't share any information about Dabi save for him being very invested in Stain's ideology. no criminal records, maybe, but not even a word of his absurdly strong quirk? no mentions of arson at all? they did discuss Toga making it to the news, so Dabi being left out like that was a bit weird in the context of the conversation, like him seeking out Stain's contacts was enough reason to let him join the League. he won't be useful to you, Shigaraki, but he's got the spirit. please take him in, he has nowhere else to go?
Tumblr media
if you really look at the way Dabi uses his quirk until MVA, it's noticeable how he seems to have no idea what he is doing. there's no technique, no finesse to his moves, just throwing out huge blasts of fire with his hands and hoping for the threat to leave him alone.
Tumblr media
when Shigaraki attacked him (fully provoked) his reaction was too slow to summon any flames at all, and if it weren't for Kurogiri, that would have been it for Dabi.
Tumblr media
When he is fighting Geten and starts going beyond his limit, he scares himself with the increased fire output. because, yup, overusing his quirk by accident was the source of his trauma.
Tumblr media
the databook puts his technique as the weakest of his stats. his power is huge and eventually allowed him to become the strongest fire quirk user in the BNHA universe, but his technique was extremely lacking.
Tumblr media
all of the above just doesn't paint the picture of someone who has been consistently mastering his quirk for 7 years. rather, it gives the picture of someone who had just started using his quirk for the first time in years, having background training from his childhood.
it's not even that Dabi isn't hardworking as hell or doesn't have the potential to be trained, because he's a complete opposite. continuously going beyond his limit, despite his own body getting in his way, mastering Enji and Shouto's complicated techniques they have worked for weeks/months/years on in a matter of minutes after just observing it. surely, he has been watching Enji and learning the way his father uses his quirk for years, but putting theory to practice? i doubt he even had the chance, before joining LOV.
he had to wait, because starting to actively use his quirk sets the clock into motion, counting down the time he has left. he is like a candle, destroying himself with his fire, until nothing is left at all. he had to make sure his plan of revenge will have a chance to succeed before fully committing to the 'Dabi' route, a slow and agonizing process of cremating himself by continuously using his quirk. because when he really starts using his quirk for long stretches of time? this is what happens to him.
Tumblr media
to conclude this post, I know why the final design was chosen (because it's cool as fuck) but after analyzing the crucial points of Touya's story and his relationship with his quirk, I really think him joining the League with post-coma design would have made more sense. once he had started really using his quirk, his body would slowly degrade to the state Dabi's was in, because his fire literally melts his skin. but his body already having 40% surface third degree burns, when he didn't even use his quirk the entire time, perfectly holding up up until the first war arc and then quickly starting to burn down? idk, seems a bit inconsistent?..
anyway, i love the concept of Dabi's skin slowly and inevitably burning down after he had joined the League. him losing more and more skin until there's barely anything left, when he reveals himself to his father and is bitter at the lack of recognition, because burning himself to the point of being unrecognizable was one of the many sacrifices he had made to be finally seen by Endeavor.
also, more of this. because this was bittersweet as hell

LOV modern/band au, but Shigaraki’s hair changes color like every other scene. It could be white, black, blue, or even sometimes white or blue with black roots, anything within the blink of an eye. Kurogiri asked what he wanted for dinner, and then came back 10 minutes later to ask smth only to see Tomura's white hair suddenly blue. Tomura doesn’t even acknowledge it and plays dumb whenever somebody asks.
Even Dabi—the one who dyes his hair like a normal person—is completely at a loss on how it happens.

I wanna yap abt how toxic Dabi is in relationships.
Today's subject - cheating
I think Dabi's a serial cheater and here's why:
I think Dabi is dependent on other people to measure his own self-worth. Obv, that stems from feeling like he needed to prove himself worthy to endy. But I think, probably without even realizing it, Dabi kinda formed an addiction to how good he felt after a one night stand or smth, bc it made him feel good and whoever he was with was only focused on him. His first time was probably the only time he ever felt a strong connection with someone, and it kinda filled that hole (no pun intended lmaooo) of wanting to be seen or noticed.
I think Dabi is also incredibly selfish. With his daddy issues and having such big emotions as a kid, but no one to talk to about them or teach him how to deal with that, he only ever thought about his problems and what solutions work best for him, and not anybody else. with him being selfish, I don't think he really cares about the other person in any relationship or one night stand. He doesn't form any connection to the people he sleeps with. They just help him for the night
Those things together are the perfect recipe for Dabi being a cheater imo. I think he'd have a hard time saying no to sleeping with someone just bc he's in a relationship. He'd care about you, but he cares about the way he feels a lot more. he definitely lacks a large amount of empathy, so I don't think he'd fully understand if his SO was upset abt him cheating
ON TOP OF ALL THAT - if he plans to off himself anyway? he doesn't really care about the consequences of his actions. He's murdered for his goal of being seen. He would definitely cheat to get a little dopamine rush - despite it upsetting his SO.
I probably could've worded this a lot better, but i hope that made sense lol
Curious if you agree - feel free to reblog or comment what you think!

maybe I'm just sensitive but free todoroki shouto from the 'wacko conspiracy theorist' fanon title please i beg of you 🙏 that guy made one single very logical step- not even a leap- but bc he's wrong and the audience knows it he must be the kind of guy who thinks the moon landing was faked?? no!! come on!
his thinking goes as follows: 1. a bunch of classmates have noticed midoriya's quirk is similar to all might's (including tsuyu who the fandom titles rational one brain cell mature mom friend) shouto also gets up close to midoriya and all might when they used the quirk further thinking they're connected. 2. he also notices, again like many other classmates, that all might favors midoriya and takes him to secret lunches together and has a hand in his training etc. THESE THINGS ARE BOTH TRUE. his only extrapolation is that all might and midoriya must be biologically related as father and son (we audience know they’re biologically related bc of the 2 in existence miracle quirk that is top secret confidential) and his jump to "secret love child" that people go crazy over is because all might to the public has no family so a son must have been kept a dirty secret. THIS IS ALL RATIONAL AND LOGICAL. WHY ARE YOU DOING HIM DIRTY LIKE THIS AAH
also! as soon as midoriya says nah im not his son it's something else shouto goes okay it's something else but you admitted you're connected so... it's not like he clings to an incorrect conclusion!!

I had (4 years ago?) a 200k words wip fic in my head that was basically the abnormal class from Fav Anime Mairimashita Iruma-kun being bnha’s 2A
So, it’s a canon thing that Aizawa expeled a entire hero class before the the anime’s 1A
Keeping in mind he expeled everyone on the first day guess who went “free real state”??? THATS RIGHT I just put the entire abnormal class as general students that didn’t get into the hero course
Tumblr media
I’m pretty sure I had an entire arc of them meeting before UA and Iruma inspiring the others to try to be heroes
Unfortunately none of them had clean school history so they didn’t get to go to ua’s hero department… or any other good hero school tbh
But fear not!! They were going to be heroes even if they had to train by themselves, just having access to ua gyms and nurse would already be a more help then otherwise
Ofc, as I wrote before, aizawa gifted a entire class vacancy
So sports festival it is
They would have absolute dominate, showing not only personal talent but also their teaming up abilities
I vaguely remember having more them 3 scenarios of how the maze team game was going to go on the second part alone
Ofc the 13 would get to the tournament stage too… rip B class hero students lmao
All of this with Iruma being quirkless, of course I did need the whole secret indentity thing
In mairimashita iruma-kun the main character has a ring, who has a spirit/conscience and is able to eat energy and helps iruma use magic
Translating this to bnha was:
Sullivan has a energy manipulation quirk and tells iruma he made the ring carry a copy of his quirk, but it’s a secret because the technology is so op (lie)
In this case I made Alikred (ring spirit), be a ex-villain boss who was victim of a quirk (?) and was stuck in a ring, but Alikred’s quirk was a kind of vampiric copy quirk so the ring can be used like Sullivan’s (the grandpa’s) quirk as long as he eventually charges i
Eventually Delkira would get his mind back and slowly start to be able to use his shadow form, of course to get to that point iruma would have had to eat some very specific quirk energy (it gives the victim quirk exhaustion) like some shapeshift quirks and idk I can’t remember the details
(I haven’t read the manga in 3028832 months but I’ve been pretty sure alikred is the missing demon king since he got his name)
Once they got into the hero course Aizawa would go nope not my problem and somehow get rid of them and kalego-sensei would be put as their home-room teacher rip him
When they get in their second year is when canon 1-A gets there… everytime someone pities Aizawa for his hellions he thinks positively “at least it’s not the demons from the abnormal class”

Ah jeez, do you suppose that while Rei was spiraling mentally and emotionally, she low-key started blaming Touya for the abuse? I’m thinking of that one scene where Endeavor finds out Touya had been training and burning himself in secret, then he immediately slaps Rei for ‘not watching him.’
I mean, I can imagine her at least having the unspoken thought, 'He wouldn't hurt me if you just did as you were told,' but do you think she said it to his face?

What do you think the relationship between Pro-Heroes and the government is like?
Tumblr media
So this is actually explained a lot during the early parts of the series when the kids go and become interns, but we can pick up on other facts through out the series. We know that Pro Heroes are licensed and supported by the government. If you haven't been empowered to hero work, none of it is official and you are considered a vigilante. They are also paid by the government and are technically civil servants. However, it's a little more complicated then that. They need to do a lot of work to prove their merit. They more work they do whether they by in the number of criminals they catch or public services they do, the more money and opportunities they get. And if you screw up the job somehow, such as causing a needless amount of damage or stop doing jobs for whatever reason, then you lose the money you would have made. Effectively, they work on commission and are "hired" by the government to help deal with super powered criminals.
Then there are organizations like the Hero Public Safety Commission. They are the government body who works with the heroes. Their job is to organize the heroes. Things like potentially handing out jobs to certain heroes to deal with, organizing raids like what was done with yakuza, or deciding the who and how of people getting licensed to be heroes. They also work as a middle man between the heroes and society at large. Specifically, they are meant to help handle the optics of heroes and how they work. However, they don't have any direct control over heroes and need their own heroes to follow orders, like Hawks and Lady Nagant. Because the heroes have a huge amount of independence in how they work. Both in how they operate as heroes and what exactly they tackle as law enforcement. They can even find their own means of making money, whether they be a side business, money made from personal products, or royalties from things like action figures. I think the best thing to compare them to is government contractors. They are effectively a private business, but are empowered to do their jobs by the government.

What if Toya and Endeavor sharing a dragon foreshadows that Enji will choose being a father and stay with Toya as he's gravely injured / potentially dying and Shoto having a dragon of his own means he'll get to go, become his own hero and help Izuku like he wanted to?
I wouldn't be opposed to a Todoroki family combo either, but I feel like the most logical endpoint of this plotline is for Enji to CHOOSE Toya for once over his hero job or even over the world and stay with him and for Shoto to be fully free without having to step in every time Enji fails the family to do his father's job instead of where he wants to be.
Tumblr media
I also think that like Bakugou and Uraraka, Shouto should also get a quirk upgrade from absorbing all that fire from Touya. Touya copying Phosphor had no narrative pay-off yet for Shouto and we didn't see any attack from him in the entire endgame (other than damage control / fire extinguisher moves). It would make no sense for a character with Power S levels not to be at all involved in the main fight, when throw-away characters like Sato or Mineta get a shot.
Shouto is not even injured (unlike Ochako and Bakugou), so there is no reason whatsoever why he wouldn't be able to get up and help.
I feel like it would be a missed opportunity from Hori not to use the Origin Trio for a big combo attack in the endgame.

The olive theory
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the olive(well chocolate) theory with Tsukasa Takajo
Note: sorry for not uploading for like a 2 months 😭 tho I am alive now dw and sorry if its a bit short:))
Tsukasa hated chocolates, at first he didn't mind the taste of it but now he didn't like it all, he hated the it tasted, the texture of it he hated it, everytime he received for an occasion or an event he would just force himself to smile gratefully at the one who gave it but after that he gives to his friend.
You love chocolates, you love anything sweet really but you would pick chocolate over any candy if you were given the chance, your sweet tooth is always happy and satisfied when you eat chocolates. Your friends would always give you their chocolates if you're down or not in the mood since the sweet treat would always make you happy.
At your first date with Tsukasa he made it clearly that he didn't like chocolate and that made you sad a bit, you really liked him but you don't want to just give up something that really makes happy when you're sad for a boy, though thinking that it woudnt work, and Tsukasa, not willing to give you up, made it work.
Even though Tsukasa knew he didn't like chocolate, he tolerated it for you. He would buy you chocolates when he is at the convenience or at the grocery, bring you chocolate treats or drinks from a bakery, and give you the chocolates that were given to him.
In the pool side at Oya, Shiba brought chocolate cupcakes that his sister baked for everyone. You excitedly got yours and ate it while complimenting Shiba's sister, while Tsukasa only looked at the treat with disinterest and gave his cupcake to you, to which you happily received and ate.
The other boys could only look at Tsukasa with confusion, as they swore they always saw Tsukasa buying chocolates flavoured foods or drinks, but now the said boy seem to not like it one bit.
"Why does he buy chocolates if he doesn't seem to like it?" Tsuji asked quietly, making sure that the blonde boy wouldn't be able to hear them. He looked at his boyfriends for answers, but Todoroki coudnt careless and was just eating the treat quietly while Shiba was also confused.
This also caught the attention of the other and questioned it amongst themselves. When they had enough of questions, they turned to Fujio, who was just loudly enjoying the cupcake and not really listening to the conversation.
Fujio suddenly sensed that his being watched and looked up from his cupcake, "What?" The clueless boy asked while his mouth was still full from the baked treat.
"Why does Tsukasa buy so much chocolates if he doesn't seem to like it so much?" Tsuji interrogated. They all looked at Fujio with anticipating eyes and expecting gazes.
Before answering, Fujio swallowed the cupcake he was eating, "Well, it's because [name] likes them, well actually they love them, it's their favourite thing in the world, it makes them happy whenever they eat one so even though Tsukasa hates chocolates he would always buys one whenever and give it to her just to make her happy" Fujio explained.
Silence fell amongst boys, then they turned their gazes to you and Tsukasa, you still happily eating the cupcake and talking animatedly to Tsukasa and the blonde boy was just looking at you, love and adoration practically pouring out of his eyes, smiling softly, his dimples softly appearing in his cheeks.
They watched in amazement as the once cold and rude boy of the full timers was now undeniably, indisputably, indubitably, beyond doubt, in love, and he was so in love he was willing surround himself with the sweet he hates the most just to make you happy.
"Oh, it's like the olive theory," Shiba pointed out quietly so that his boyfriends were the only ones that could hear. "The what??" Tsuji asked, "You know the olive theory, the one from 'how I met your mother', when the other needs to hate olives while the other one needs to love olives, and in a weird sense that's what makes them such a great couple." Shiba explained
"Ohh, like when Todoroki hates blueberries while we love them," Tsuji realised, and Shiba nodded in agreement while Todoroki could only roll his eyes in fondness of his boyfriends.
