ahdjajfjAHFJJAJFHABDBS i think i malfunctioned a little too much at this ask

but oh geez i've always had this silly thing in my head where even if neither of them are fighting curses—like, in toge's case, at least, i'd think it's very minimal now that he has miki with him, and in miki's case she's never delved into that world anyway even if she can See them— there'll be tiny little parts of their day where he kinda teaches her a few basics.

mostly self-defense, just so she has something to fend herself with in case he isn't around in the moment... but also at the same time she's just really not very built for it? kind of frail, not necessarily very good with her hand-eye coordination... it takes a while before she gets a sequence down properly.

and by properly it means being able to land a hit on him (granted he'd still go easy on her... but like... still!)

but it does happen eventually!!!!!!! and both of them have this moment of pure shock and he's just! so so so so proud of her they start bouncing up and down together and he looks at her with all this. this pride. and adoration. and so much love that—he wishes he could say it directly to her. he wishes he can say more than just excited little 'tuna's.

because he is proud of her.

and there's a moment where she realizes he's staring at her more than he's jumping with her, and she recognizes his thoughts and she's the one who pulls him in for a hug.

she speaks it for him, because she's more grateful for him than he realizes. "i know you're proud of me... thank you."
