Thank you for the ask @tomwise! ^^ If it's cool with you, I'm very much in my GX feels so I'm gonna answer for Jaden and Jesse! 🌸 first impression: what was the first thing you noticed about them? what did they think of you?

First thing I noticed about Jaden was his incredible ability to smile through his troubles, both in AUs and also in real life when I watched the series the first time. It's why I latched onto him when my depression was worsening at the time.

As for what he first noticed about Renni...I'm not too sure..? Probably her snarky attitude and dry humor...

First thing I noticed about Jesse watching the series is that I fucking hated him tbh...He shows up in season three and starts snarking characters who have been there the whole time and it aggravated 12 year old me. In AUs, Jesse and Renni are childhood friends and Renni always notices Jesse's very kind first and foremost.

Jesse will almost always notice that Renni is alone and has no other friends first in AUs.

🍓 first date: what did your first date look like? was it planned or spontaneous?

This depends ENTIRELY on what you consider "a date". Does it have to be consciously communicated as a date? If it a date if you're flirting and hang out one on one?

If it doesn't have to be communicated as a date, the first time Jaden sneaks into Renni's dorm room at night to hang out when they can't sleep...Or maybe that time Renni took Jaden to a big mall for his birthday would be the first date if hanging out in dorm doesn't count? If it has to be communicated and called a date before hand then probably going to an amusement park...

If it doesn't need to be communicated to be a date first, the first time Jesse brought Renni to his house to hang out when she was 4 and he was 5, and they chopped wood on his grand parents farm. If it's got to be communicated first, when Jesse took Renni to a birthday dinner date to Dave&Busters and won her too many prizes, all of which she cherishes.

Here's a snippet from Day 9 of Regressuary:

Malcolm exhaled a heavy, exhausted sigh and ran a hand down his face as he climbed up the stairs to his apartment.

It had been a long day at the precinct. The case the NYPD had been saddled with over the past week had finally come to a close today, leaving everyone who worked it practically running on fumes by the time they made it back to the station for debriefing. Gil, Dani, and JT were the only ones who ended up staying behind to finish up their reports.

Malcolm had attempted to stay behind with them to help, but Gil was adamant about him going home, especially since he knew (y/n) was currently staying with the younger man. He also told Malcolm that it would good for him to take a few days off to just unwind and relax and be taken care of. And much as Malcolm had wanted to refute and say that he didn't need it, even he couldn't deny that he could use some downtime with (y/n) looking after him while in headspace.

It had been far too long since they'd last had some quality mama/baby time, anyway.

It does suck that we don't get to learn much about Tomwise & Lady Elegant but it does make complete narrative sense that Varric wouldn't care much about Hawke's life before they met him, or any friends of theirs that are not also friends of his.
