There's a character in SATA called Pepi Popikarnassos and all they say about him is that he uses Za/um (the drug).... And DE is like yeah this Arno van Eyck song is actually a remix of a Pepi Popikarnassos track... WHO is this guy
I'm headcanoning him as another classical musician. The theme of dance remixes of classical tracks seem to be a trend here, the art book says the cultural association za/um was formed while they were listening to the Adagio for strings remixed by Tiesto (and the original Adagio for strings is on the Torsion & McLaine ost). Wait hold on a minute

Honestly it took having the original high def songs from the BotW OST for me to finally hear the old Kakariko theme in the new Kakariko theme and when I tell you they buried that old familiar melody deep in the background they buried it way back there.
I’d listen to people trying to talk about it and point it out on YouTube and I’d be like “It’s not there, you and Nintendo are both lying.” But I finally heard it for the first time last night as I was listening to it.
It’s much easier to hear in the night version of the music and it’s played on something that sounds a bit like an accordion — that same instrument plays harmony for the melody though, so it makes it harder to find.

Y’all know shovel talks, right? The whole “hurt them and I/we will hurt you” type of thing, most commonly against a romantic interest by the family/friends of the person in question?
Now think about that, but reverse
Romantic partner/interest low-key or even high-key threatening family members of the person in question
NOW imagine Poppy being 20% more unhinged/feral (and Branch revealing a bit about his brothers earlier, how they abandoned him and stuff)
I want you to imagine sweet Poppy, Queen of the happy-go-lucky Pop Trolls, casually showing off the knuckledusters she stole got from Branch in the second movie, just to her friends or to Viva, gushing about how her sweet boyfriend let her keep this very useful and pretty weapon, in front of his brothers
…Way too excited to write unhinged/protective Poppy for my Hanahaki fic fr

I love musicals that take place at the beginning of the 19th that are about the hardships of the time and the struggles of those who lived it, but, at its core, are about humanity and love and life and betrayal and pain and longing and... Hope. They are tales of hope that let us see what life could be and allow us to dream with them of that reality, letting us go with a promise that we too can make that different. We only have to take the first step.

#*points* my rec #seriously though it's such a good fic #how come crack ends up having better/more compelling characterization than serious stuff? #genshin #rallying enjou fans and paimon appreciators and abyss princess lumine supporters with this #(and people who want the twins to remind us they aren't human every so often)
@hydrachea I can't speak in general, but in my case, comedy and fluff just happen way more easily(*), so the attention+thought I put into analysing character voice/dynamics for ostensibly serious-fic purposes gets channeled there 😭🙃
(* I.e. it feels like I generally spend months if not years painstakingly figuring out plot beats for an action/adventure or trying to figure out the cadence of a character study, whereas meanwhile the silly joke fics write themselves )

I think Echoes is probably not my favourite Zelda soundtrack after completing the game. It doesn't quite reach the highs of my favourite OSTs with some of my favourite Zelda songs on them. But I will say, I think EoW has the most consistently good OST in Zelda history. Throughout the whole game there was 1 (one) song that I thought "man this is kind of ass" (Eastern Temple if you're curious). Never ever have I encountered a Zelda game without a couple of bad or otherwise forgettable tunes. Nearly every single song in Echoes ranged from decent to fantastic, and that's such a feat.

julie about daniel: "my heart is racing, the world nearly stops, i lose control when i'm around you" "could there be a future for something between the two of us?" "our chemistry is explosive" "my body's going crazy, i don't know what's wrong with me" "i don't care about logic, i want the magic of love"
daniel about julie: "how it hurts to know that the end came so suddenly and i didn't have time to prove to you that i could be your greatest secret" "could it be that if i close my eyes, you will appear here?" "the closer i get, the less i can bear the fact that i can't touch you" "i want to see your smile and remember you here. you are the sun to me"
daniel and julie when félix and martim confront them about these lyrics: honestly, i don't remember; i was probably fucked up. yeah, i was crazy back then, uheaughhsh---

Product Details: A DISTINCTIVE, PURE PIANO
Explore the evocative tones of Native Instruments – Una Corda, a handcrafted upright piano that redefines the possibilities of musical expression. With a full range of sound characters – from soft and resonant to percussive and textural – this instrument offers unparalleled creativity and realism. Meticulously sampled, Una Corda delivers everything from intimate realism to lush, resonant overtones, making it an essential addition to your sound library.
Introducing UNA CORDA
Delicate and Different
Una Corda faithfully captures the signature sound of a unique, custom-made piano designed by David Klavins in collaboration with composer Nils Frahm. Unlike traditional pianos, Una Corda features one string per key, resulting in an exquisite tone that’s ideal for film scoring, electronic music, pop, or jazz. Whether you’re crafting serene melodies or creating experimental textures, Una Corda’s distinctive sound will captivate your audience.
Three Sources of Creativity
Una Corda offers three distinct sound banks, each designed to inspire:
Pure: Captures the resonant sound of a single string struck by the hammer, offering clarity and richness.
Felt: Introduces felt material between hammers and strings, reducing attack noise and delivering a gentle, smooth sound reminiscent of an unplugged vintage electric piano.
Cotton: Adds a noisier, percussive attack with more pronounced overtones, ideal for creating unique sonic textures.
Each sound bank provides a starting point for shaping your creative vision.
Enhanced Sound Design
Take your sound further with Una Corda’s advanced sound design capabilities. Add texture by incorporating:
Noise from fabric preparations
Mechanical sounds and pedal actions
Room ambiance
Enhance realism or venture into experimental territory by integrating vintage outboard gear effects like hiss, compression, and saturation. From dry, gritty tones to liquid pads and swirling soundscapes, Una Corda adapts to your creative needs.
Adjust Your Tone Easily
Una Corda’s intuitive interface puts full control of the instrument at your fingertips:
Sound Banks: Choose from Pure, Felt, or Cotton.
Workbench: Sculpt core characteristics, from dynamics to overtones.
Response Section: Adjust tonal dynamics and add resonant overtones.
Finish Section: Apply vintage effect chains, reverbs, and other tools to refine your sound.
Effortlessly transform a pure piano into a noisy, percussive instrument or an ambient soundscape with these powerful tools.
Made for KOMPLETE KONTROL
Designed for seamless integration, Una Corda is fully compatible with Native Instruments’ KOMPLETE KONTROL keyboards. Experience the ultimate performance with the KOMPLETE KONTROL S88, featuring fully weighted hammer-action keys for an authentic piano feel.
