Coffee art is so underrated...

Riuh is just so freakin happening.

I mean, I've gone to the first one in Bangsar, where they held it in Art Printing Works (APW) an old printing factory.

It was next to the Balai Berita building (my future office,looks like it) at Jalan Riong.

Seriously, the place is crowded with cool youngsters and families.

Although I've never heard of Riuh before, my stepmom was the one who introduced it to me because she brought me to this place.

Yeah I don't know about it because I'm a totally outdated introvert.

But serious shit, Riuh just feeds the inner artist in me.

It's a monthly creative bazaar platform with different pop-up stores, showcases, workshops and live performances.

All around I see vendors selling cool stuff like bath bombs, unique accessories and heck, there's even Tony Eusoff selling hotdogs!

But what caught my eye was a group of people sitting down in the middle of a hall.

As I walked closer, I could see the table is messy with art tools and coffee powder.

The group of people were so immersed in creating sepia-toned paintings but it wasn’t watercolour, acrylic or oil….rather coffee itself!

I was surprised and fascinated how such a simple ingredient can create remarkable works of art. So, I decided to go for the coffee painting workshop by KL Sketch Nation.

The members were friendly and approachable.

One of them, Jerome, taught me coffee painting.

So, I decided to paint Emperor Palpatine since he is my favourite Star Wars character (I don't recommend beginners painting portraits first as it might be challenging and I wasn't happy with the effect anyway).

It's been ages since I've painted. The last time I've done it was for a university project.

I was 18 at the the time and we had to use a canvas to present our trip to Melaka for our Creative Studies module.

So, we had to paint our canvas and I hated the module so much that I don't want to paint anymore.

Thank you, I'll just stick to pencils and pens.

It was not until I joined KL Sketch Nation in 2019 that my love for painting return.

I was volunteering for a coffee painting booth at an event in Shah Alam.

So, I don't know what to do...I haven't painted in a long time but the self-taught artist in me taught me not to panic.

I simply took the pencil and started drawing a random anime OC.

After I'm done with the waterproof inks, I started painting on it.

Ok, at first it sucked according my standards.

But I soon understood how painting works since my self-taught mechanism is based on trial and error.

Next, I decided to draw Renji Abarai from Bleach and the results....weren't that bad at all.

I believed that like any other skill requires practice in order for you to be better.

Almost every week I would come out with a painting and as time goes by, there have been room for improvement.

After a while I became more confident and bolder with my coffee painting skills that I started to put it with other uses, such as painting a comic series entirely out of coffee.

And so the Sheev and Rey series is born out of the idea after watching Star Wars Episode XI: The Rise of Skywalker where...*SPOILER ALERT*......

what if Palpatine was a nicer grandfather and he raised Rey from the beginning?

I was happy that a lot of people liked the comics so I guess I’m gonna continue making them.

The other reason why I paint Sheev and Rey only using coffee is because coffee art is not that popular.

Earlier this year, around the same time when the Covid-19 virus entered Malaysian borders, I went on a camping trip with my family during the Chinese New Year holidays.

I was painting at one of the outdoor tables, used for eating and there were a few passers-by who saw me painting.

When they asked me what I was painting with, I replied “coffee”. Then they were surprised that you can use coffee to paint.

I’m the type who does not like painting in the open because I don't like it when I’m being watched drawing. It’s also because they would want me to draw a picture of them, which happened during that camping trip.

But if this is a way to get more people exposed to coffee painting then I’m all up for it.

I’m still happy to show people my coffee art and they are happy with the smell.

I guess that’s the joy of painting using coffee, and I assure you it’s not that hard. In fact, it’s something beginners should start off with before venturing into using colours...just to understand the basics of painting.

Elizad Jadi Dirinya jadi pilihan Rita Rudaini | Hiburan Hokaloh News

PELAKON Rita Rudaini tidak menafikan ada pihak yang berminat untuk menjadikan buku tentang kisah hidupnya yang berjudul Kerana Aku Seorang Perempuan sebagai drama bersiri.

Rita, 42, berkata, setakat ini ia masih dalam peringkat perbincangan kerana ingin memastikan karya tulisan Pengarang Pancaindera Datuk Tengku Khalidah Tengku Bidin itu divisualkan dengan baik.

“Saya sayang karya tulisan Tengku Khalidah itu kerana apa yang beliau telah hasilkan itu cukup baik dan jika ada yang ingin menjadikannya ia drama ia perlulah setaraf atau lebih baik lagi.

“Alhamdulillah, ada beberapa pihak menunjukkan minat dan perbincangan ada dibuat cuma saya perlu meneliti beberapa perkara sebelum membuat keputusan.

Rita bersama Pengarang Pancaindera Datuk Tengku Khalidah Tengku Bidin ketika hari pelancaran bukunya Mei lalu.

“Bukan apa saya tidak mahu ia sekadar naskhah tangkap muat sahaja,” katanya.

Dalam pada itu, tanpa berselindung, Rita berkata, dia membayangkan aktres Siti Elizad Sharifuddin melakonkan watak dirinya sekiranya projek itu benar-benar terjadi.

“Yang saya lihat boleh membawakan watak sebagai diri saya dalah Siti Elizad.

“Karakter dan kredibiliti dia sebagai pelakon saya cukup kagum dan ada perkara tentang dirinya yang saya rasa boleh menjadi ‘diri saya’ dalam drama itu nanti,” jelasnya.

Dalam perkembangan lain, Rita tampil dengan projek terbaharunya iaitu sebuah drama web berjudul Projek Dapat Baby yang menggandingkannya dengan Tony Eusoff.

Siri lapan episod itu boleh ditonton menerusi saluran Youtube dan Facebook Najwa Medispa bermula 30 Julai (hari ini) pada setiap Isnin dan Selasa, 1 petang.

Selain Rita dan Tony, ia turut menampilkan barisan pelakon seperti Azhar Sulaiman, Louisa Chong, Aida Khaleeda dan Fikri Ibrahim. – Hokaloh News

Summary:

Despite immoralities, love has no boundaries and love is also their eternal destiny. However, Nirmala has more feelings towards Surya, his best friend rather than his own brother. Kardo tried not to give up and hoped that their relationship would be stronger.

2 guys battle it out for the last ticket to the festival set to be held on 24 & 25 Nov 2012. Who will prevail?  The 'been there, done that old skool dude' (played by Tony Eusoff) or the 'young hipster upstart' (played by Michael Chen)?

And what's Liyana Fizi doing there? :) 

This is my 3rd short film that I've ever Directed. On top of that, I choreographed the action as well.

MALAYSIA, 19 JULY 2018 – Today, Viu, the leading regional OTT video service and Media Prima Television Networks (MPTN) announced a partnership whereby, Media Prima will broadcast as a first run, three Viu Originals ‘Salon’, ’Jibril’ and ‘The Bridge’ for the Malaysian market in 2018. This is the first time a regional OTT brand has partnered with Malaysia’s largest TV broadcaster on content for same day airing. The three shows are slated to be released from September 2018 onwards on Media Prima’s NTV7 and on Viu.

“This is a completely different take within the entertainment industry where there is a common misconception that OTTs are here to challenge the TV industry. To the contrary, we see real synergies between linear TV and digital audiences in Malaysia. This is possible today with an extremely digitally connected population that also includes heavy consumers of free-to-air TV. Synopsis of the New Series The Bridge

Premiering November 2018 Viu is working with longtime partner, Double Vision, to produce a localised, ten-episode adaptation of global phenomenon, The Bridge, starring Bront Palarae, Rebecca Lim, Cheryl Samad and Tony Eusoff. The Bridge will be directed by TJ Lee. A body is found on the border of two countries, Malaysia and Singapore, forcing an investigator from each country to work together to solve the case. This is a licensed format from international distribution house, Endemol Shine Group. The Bridge (Bron/Broen) was originally created and written by Hans Rosenfeldt as a joint production of Sweden’s Filmlance International, part of Endemol Shine Group and Denmark’s Nimbus Film.

Salon Premiering September 2018 Salon will be produced by Monsoon Pictures, directed by Kabir Bhatia and will star Julia Farhana, Idris Khan and Iman Corinne Adrienne. The story is that Anna opens a new Salon that quickly becomes the talk of KL-town. Anna has a dark past and a mission to find the killer responsible for murdering her family many years ago and feels compelled to serve with her own brand of justice racking up a body count along the way.

Jibril Premiering October 2018 Jibril is produced by Konda Kondi Studios starring Aeril Zafril, Lisa Surihani, Zahiril Adzim and Sangeeta Krishnasamy, and will be directed by Megat Sharizal. This is the story of a lawyer who possesses exceptional intelligence, striking good-looks and an uncanny power of deduction. A sequence of events leads to several murders and assassinations. Jibril is called upon to defend one of suspects and thus begins the revelations of a secret terror organization and the search for its elusive leader.

The Bridge will be produced in Bahasa Malaysia, English and Mandarin, while Salon and Jibril will be in Bahasa Malaysia. All shows feature some of the best Malaysian talents and will air first on NTV7 and then on Viu immediately after. It has always been Viu’s aim to support rising local talents by providing them a platform that optimizes their creativity. This is the first time Viu Malaysia is producing its own originals and these three series will also be made available in all Viu territories globally.
