the dominant white transmasc culture is actually not very fun in my experience like yes lots of being silly little guys and chilling and making food and dressing like boys and being crafty plant dads and therapists
it does make me feel comfortable and I thought I wanted to be part of this but also it leaves me lonely and I'm trying to put my finger on it
maybe it's that it's so white and feels violent inherently bc of that? Like who are you as people that all your friends are white, are housed, what is protecting you, what are you protecting? parents, institutions?
maybe it is a new tier of assimilation
Or more a reflection of living in white liberal dominated cities/spaces and suburban/secular privilege

I'm just hung up between ND anxiety good boy culture and my more true and beautiful punk girl teenage rage and realizing even though I am becoming more mature and healing, healing doesn't always mean assimilating into quietness and comfort, even if that's part of it
It's domesticity I'm sick of, like we all know how to do that and do it better than cishets, but I'm looking to get thrown around at a metal show and hold my own and own some guy in a fight or rave and dance and fuck and be able to speak my mind freely without the anxiety and caretaking and control that come with security
I get why the trans people who can have it want it but doesn't it leave you empty? don't you see your fate bound up in your neighbors? Don't you want to fight alongside your brothers to take down institutions or get people resources? channel all that rage you've learned to swallow out of fear of being an abusive asshole? become warriors with the hearts of lovers? grow fangs and teeth? own a gun or a knife and know how to use it safely? don't you want to own your own power, and make the right people feel safe?

Yuuko. Crown Princess of Junes, lover of all things pink and berry scented. She hides her trepidation and bitterness beneath a veneer of sugary cheerfulness. She is in Yu's class- being Morgana's classmate and his first non-phantom thief friend. She also acts as the Trainhopper's hanged man confidant, which Nanako frequently babysits.
She doesn't understand exactly why her father decided to move to the middle of nowhere other than it was to live near family that she's never met before. Nor does she fully grasp why her mother no longer wants to see them.
She suffers from Wanderlust, and while she can board the Midnight Train, she is too currently too young to develop a shadow... right?

build: tall and strong, sculpted with ropes of lean muscle. 5’11” with pale blue eyes and decently long blond hair.
weapon of choice: knife, or just his fists
strengths: physically strong, charismatic and generally well-liked with his “bad boy” persona
weaknesses: overly antagonistic towards the capitol
public opinion: the capitol loves a bad boy, but are somewhat put off by his rebellious, anti-authority streak. still, they’re sponsoring him, because he’s got a good chance of winning. he’s pretty popular in the districts. back home in 6, he’s a terror, but definitely popular among the local youth.

if you utter the name "whitney" in district 6, you'll get a few different reactions. start at the canteen behind the old train station. don’t let the peacekeepers see you, though- it would be a damn shame if you got it shut down. the district might not forgive you for that.
slip in there and try to ignore the stench of sweat and rust and motor oil. slide onto a creaky old barstool and order the strongest moonshine money can buy. pass it to the old man with a snaggletooth in the corner. let him get a few good slugs in, and then he’ll start talking.
“whitney? wha- oh, that whitney,” he says. “you know, his family used to own a shipping company. back in the day, before the war. they had trains and boats and trucks all across panem, from here to district 10. then, in the war, they went rebel, so when the capitol got control back they shut ‘em down real quick. they struggled on a few years, and then they just-”
he makes an explosion gesture with his hands.
“bam! gone off the face of the earth. left only that boy behind.” he takes another swig. “it’s a shame, too. that boy’s too rough around the edges. coulda used a few more years of parenting.”
now, leave the canteen, and try not to look too thrilled about it. this time, you can be seen by the peacekeepers. they’re who you want to talk to, anyway. peacekeepers have an awful tendency to shut up like a clam, but slip a few sesterces into their pockets, and they’ll glance both ways before opening their mouths.
“whitney’s first arrest was when he was 9,” the taller one says. “it was just petty theft. a few fancy buttons nicked from the tailor’s shop. nothing major.”
“i thought it was fabric,” says a shorter one.
“well, you weren’t there, so shut up,” the taller one snaps. “we laughed it off, gave him a slap on the wrist, hoped this wouldn’t become habit.”
“but it did, clearly,” the shorter one cuts in. “that kid’s always sneaking around, stealing whatever he can get his hands on. selling it on the black market. we would shut the whole operation down, but the moonshine’s too good.”
any other crimes? trespassing, assault? “trespassing, yes. he’s a trainhopper, that one. always hanging around in boxcars,” the taller one answers. “assault… he’s a scrapper, that’s for sure. we know he’s got a penchant for beating up the other kids, but if you ask any kid about who gave them a black eye they won’t tell you. but you can tell it was whitney.”
head towards the town square. on the way, you might see a girl carrying a basket of washing. she’s a teenager, but her eyes are a lot older. ask her what she thinks about whitney and she’ll spit on the ground.
“fuck him,” she says. “the peacekeepers should cut his dick off before his whoring gets someone knocked up.”
that’s all she has to say about that. but that’s fine. you should head to the town square, or else you’ll be late.
when you get there, try to ignore the crowd of sniveling, greased-up teenagers. try to ignore the exhausted parents, stains on their clothes and wrinkles on their too-young faces. try to ignore the crying girl onstage next to the capitol liaison and focus on the shock of blond hair.
there he is. walking towards the stage. his head high, cigarette dangling from his lips like it’s any other day. he’s tall. muscled. beautiful. he’d be a good victor. he’d best watch his back, though, or the capitol will eat him alive.
he reaches the stage. the capitol liaison scolds him for smoking. his name rings out across the town square. there’s silence, and then some thirteen-year-old boy in the front row mutters:
“good riddance.”
he arrives at the capitol. they love him, predictably so. they all love a bad boy. but he’s a threat, isn’t he? isn’t all the talk about how the capitol fucked him over going to come back to bite him one day?
maybe. but does it matter? it’s not like he’s gonna live, anyway.
then, in training, he spots you. strong. lithe. beautiful. you’d be a good victor. he dreams of cutting you down, but slowly, those dreams morph into fantasies of doing much, much more intimate things to you.
whitney knows lust well, but this… this is something different. he wants to keep you close. keep you away from anyone who could hurt you. but that’s not going to be easy in the hunger games. if he wins, he’ll live without you, and that’s unacceptable. but if you win, you’ll live without him, without him there to protect you, and that might be even worse.
there are rumors cropping up. inklings that a few victors, along with a few tributes, are scheming. plotting a revolt behind the scenes. it’s the risk of a lifetime, but if whitney wants you to remain his, it’s what he’ll have to do.
back home in 6, whitney’s known by many names. the disgrace. the trainhopper. the thief. the fuckboy. he can’t change any of that, and he wouldn’t want to.
what he can control is the future. who he becomes. who’s at his side. the legacy he leaves behind.
and that’s far more important.
so… this got long. i know this is a bit of a different style from the other tribute intros, but i hope it’s not too jarring and i hope you all like it :) i just… love this boy a lot. ok that’s all bye

no longer upset cause i had a revelation in the shower that lends itself into a relatively simply fix and keeps all the plot ive keep developing and connects the different working parts in a cohesive and entertaining way and also nicely slots the themes in place. so thats fun
getting upset cause ive realized i have no foundation for time and again which means i basically have an empty story and i dont really want to tear apart months of work to see if its salvagable while also i need to work on BAON cause i wrote and published act 0 and then immediately fucked off like lol…

Loving the outlaw!au, the vibe is impeccable. Do either of them ever serve any jail time? If so, how does the other cope / what do they do in the meantime?
So due to future plot reasons I can half answer this.
tldr, John does go to jail. He has a juvenile record, but as an adult he thankfully manages to dodge an /armed/ robbery charge, which could get him a life sentence at worst and 3-9 years at best. At the time Gale and he are /not/ traveling together due to circumstances and by virtue of them having no way to contact one another it leads to some drama briefly when John doesn't show up where and when he's supposed to.
Gale in the meantime runs with some trainhoppers and tries to figure out why John never showed up until he gets his head out of his ass and calls Curt/Ken and they're like yeah dude he's been in jail and trying to get in contact with you for months.
Cue Gale feeling like the biggest idiot ever. Cue him going to visit John and them having a reunion with John in cuffs where they can't touch. Cue John getting some ill-advised prison tats

Power Rider Mixmon
(Logo by WryytArt) "MIX AND MATCH!" Mixmon is the hot new card game made by Bayside Games. The game is played by combining various cards into Mixsters who mix attributes of both to fight with. A young man named Nicholas Flemming is visiting his parents at the Bayside Games office when he finds the creator of the popular Mixmon card game conducting a dark alchemist ritual to get revenge on the company for stealing his idea and screwing him over. Nicholas sees a chance and steals a device at the center of the ceremony interrupting it but the monsters from the cards are still released. In the following battle the offices are damaged and one of the security guards even loses their life. The media uses security footage of the battle and the public believes Nicholas was the one responsible. Unable to reveal his identity until he clears his name, as well as not knowing if his own parents were involved in the scheme Nicholas must use the power of the cards to defeat the monsters.
Nicholas Flemming- Power Rider Mixmon Feeling guilty for the role he played in the events of that night Nicholas dedicated himself to catching all the corrupt Mixmon he accidentally set free. Fortunately he discovers that upon defeating a Mixmon he gains their card to use himself. He can call on the now purified Mixmon to fight on his behalf or combine pairs to gain the power of Mixsters. Unfortunately these abilities make it easier for people to believe he is the one controlling the corrupt Mixmon. Fortunately though he is soon approached by a man identifying himself as James Horton, co-creator of the Mixmon game. He allows Nicholas to use one of his studios as a safe house when needed and provides gear for him using his limited alchemist knowledge. James also aids him with his knowledge of the various Mixmon and their abilities. His default form uses Jumping Grasshopper and Charging Train to form TrainHopper. A perfect mix of the Grasshopper's agility and the Train's physical power. As with all his forms Nicholas can turn into the TrainHopper Mixster to boost his power.
Transformation System: Mixmon System Transformation Call: Let's Ride! [Jumping Grasshopper! Charging Train! MIX AND MATCH! TRAINHOPPER!] Transformation: An image of Jumping Grasshopper and of Charging Train appear in front of Nicholas before merging to form an image of TrainHopper which breaks apart and attaches to Nicholas forming his suit. Vehicle: By calling on the Racing Motorcycle Mixmon he can ride it as a cycle and by mixing it with the Blasting Crab Mixmon the cycle gains extending arms and missiles. Finishing Moves: TrainHopper Card Combo- Jumping Grasshopper bounces on top of the enemy stunning them for Charging Train to hit. TrainHopper Kick- Nicholas jumps into the air as images of Jumping Grasshopper and Charging Train appear behind him before they merge into TrainHopper and charge him with power as he kicks the target. By combining captive Mixmon Nicholas can call on their power in a variety of forms, he has fifteen that he tends to use the most due to their variety of abilities.

A combination of a doctor's skill and cobra's venom. Aided by four medical drones which can scan for injuries and contain basic first aid kits. Finishing moves: DocBra Card Combo- Mad Doctor appears and throws chemicals at the target blinding them as Striking Cobra attacks DocBra Kick- Nicholas performs a sliding kick as images of Mad Doctor and Striking Cobra appear behind him before merging into DocBra and charging him with power.
Energy Soda + Silent Ninja = SodJa
A combination of refreshing soda and a silent shinobi. Finishing Moves: SodJa Card Combo- Energy Soda shakes its can and throws itself at the target releasing a cloud of spray as Silent Ninja strikes. SodJa Strike- Images of Energy Soda and Silent Ninja appear behind Nicholas as he rushes at the enemy before merging into SodJa and charging him with power.
Soaring Hawk + Spiked Cactus = HawCtus
A combination of a high flying hawk and a desert cactus
Finishing Moves: HawCtus Card Combo- Soaring Hawk picks up the target and flies high up before dropping them onto Spiked Cactus. HawCtus Diving Kick- Images of Soaring Hawk and Spiked Cactus appear behind Nicholas as he dive kicks the enemy before merging into HawCtus and charging him with power.
Pinching Stag+ Reflecting Mirror = StagRor
A combination of a pinching insect and a reflective mirror
Finishing Moves: StagRor Card Combo Version 1- Pinching Stag appears and grabs the enemy and flinging them into Reflecting Mirror. StagRor Card Combo Version 2- Reflecting Mirror shines and causes any reflective object near the target to shoot out Pinching Stag. StagRor Cut- Images of Pinching Stag and Reflecting Mirror appear behind Nicholas as he catches the enemy in the pincers before merging into StagRor and charging him with power. Elegant Moth + Shooting Outlaw = MothLaw
The combination of a beautiful moth and an armed outlaw. Finishing Moves: MothLaw Card Combo- Elegant Moth carries the enemy into the air and drops them as Shooting Outlaw blasts them repeatedly. Rescue Firetruck + Thorny Rose = FireRose
The combination of an emergency firetruck and prickly flower. The combination of a missile shooting crab and a high speed cycle.
Finishing Moves: MotorCrab Card Combo- Blasting Crab grabs the enemy and holds them up as Racing Motorcycle rides up their back crashing right into them. MotorCrab Onslaught- Images of Blasting Crab and Racing Motorcycle appear behind Nicholas as he launches a series of missiles at the enemy before merging into MotorCrab and charging him with power.
Eventually Nicholas finds himself confronting Rank 10 Mixmon which James explains are so powerful they don't mix with others (with one pair of exceptions). After a brutal battle against Wildcard he seeks out the Rank 10 Mixmon for aid but their power is too great for him. James creates a combination belt/sword to harness their power allowing Nicholas to utilize them in battle.

In order to combat Wildcard's final form Nicholas performs an alchemy ceremony upgrading Jumping Grasshopper and Charging Train into special Miracle Variants creating the MiraMix form. The combination of the two unlocks miraculous power for Nicholas including the ability to call on the powers of any Mixmon pair, even those who aren't a match. Finishing Moves: Miracle Mix- Nicholas calls on a pair of Mixmon and combines their power into a devastating attack. MiraMix Card Combo- Miraculous Grasshopper stomps on the enemy stunning them as Miraculous Train charges them. MiraMix Kick- As Nicholas prepares the kick images of Miraculous Grasshopper and Miraculous Train appear behind him before merging into MiraMix and charging him with power.
After obtaining all the released Mixmon Nicholas and the others are confronted by the Dark Alchemists. Overwhelmed by their power the three Riders are greatly injured and scattered. While hiding from the Alchemists Nicholas stumbles across a small being called Chimix. The Rainbow Dragon explains that it was the first Mixmon created by Ian and James and serves as the mascot of the series. With Chimix's help Nicholas unlocks his final form becoming the Mixmaster. With this form he is able to fight off the Alchemists and turn the tide against their forces. Mixmaster's greatest power is the ability to call forth copies of his various forms to fight by his side. Finishing Moves: Mixmaster Kick- As Nicholas prepares the kick the image of Chimix appears behind him breathing rainbow breath on him charging him with power. Mixmaster Card Climax- Nicholas glows with rainbow energy as images of the various Mixmon appear behind him charging him with power before he attacks.

Edith Newton- Power Rider Gestarot
The daughter of Ian Newton, the inventor of Mixmon. After Nicholas interrupted the ceremony he created a new belt but due to injuries he received during the aftermath he tasked Edith with avenging him. Dubbing her Power Rider Gestarot after his original name for the game (before Bayside "dumbed" it down) and gave her some of the remaining Mixmon cards that had yet to be unleashed. During her battles with Nicholas she quickly realizes that her father's crusade has put countless lives in danger and begins working alongside Nicholas. Though grateful for her help it takes him a while to truly trust her, especially with his identity.

WorlDrago Slash- Edith charges her sword with the power of WorlDrago and slashes the enemy.
After the defeat of Wildcard the Riders confiscate her belt and study it. Eventually Edith learns to tap into its power to upgrade her own belt giving her the Premier form. This form draws power from the shining darkness of an Eclipse Finishing Move: Premier Kick- As Edith prepares to kick an eclipse forms behind her charging her with power.

Raymond Smith- The Dekardian/Power Rider Dekardian
Raymond was a security guard at Bayside Games the night the Mixmon were unleashed and was the only one who tried to fight the monsters instead of fleeing. The executives recognized this and utilizing incomplete notes they took from Ian Newton's office they created The Dekardian System for Raymond. With an app anyone can report a Mixmon attack and Raymond will report to the scene to save them. However what he and the public don't realize at first is that the app charges them for his services. When this comes out they claim it's to pay for researching new weapons for him but not many buy that explanation. Transformation System: Dekardian System, Prototype Transformation Call: Let's Ride! [DEKARDIAN!] Transformation: An image of Speeding Racer appears behind Raymond before breaking apart into pieces and attaching to Raymond as his suit. Finishing Moves: Dekardian Blast: Raymond places one of his cards in his Wrench Blade and charges a blast before firing. Dekardian Slash: Raymond places one of his cards in his Wrench Blade and charges a slash.

The Dekardian System allows Raymond to partial merge with some of the Mixmon in his possession. In this case Combat Chopper. Finishing Move: Dekardian Chopper Slash- Raymond charges a slash with the rotor blades.

After an incident in which Raymond is told to ignore a group of bystanders in danger because none of them used the app he quits and joins Nicholas and Edith. At this point James Horton helps upgrade his tech allowing him to become a true Rider. This new system allows Raymond to combine Mixmon of the same Rank.

By combining the fighting power of Combat Chopper and the heavenly power of Holy Angel Raymond creates Combat Angel. Finishing Moves: Combat Angel Card Combo- Raymond spins the rotor at the enemy unleashing a storm of holy arrows. Combat Angel Slash- As Raymond prepares to slash images of Combat Chopper and Holy Angel appear behind him before merging into Combat Angel and charging him with power.
As Nicholas and Edith grow more and more powerful Raymond is limited by the restraints of the Deckardian system, even with the upgrade into a proper Rider. However a whistleblower from Bayside approaches him. Unable to stand by while the innocent are suffering they give him a final upgrade for his belt allowing him to unlock the power of Holofoil. Holofoil coats his suit in liquid metal boosting his power and defense without compromising his speed and agility. Finishing Moves: Holofoil Slash- As Raymond prepares to slash his blades are charged with the liquid metal before becoming razor sharp. Holofoil Kick- As Raymond prepares to kick his foot is charged with the liquid metal.
Clarissa Parker- Power Raider Wildcard
One of Ian Newton's followers, she was present the night of the ceremony and quickly came to one conclusion. Everyone involved is a fool. All of them squabbling over a card game when a literal army of monsters was just unleashed. She uses what she learned from Ian and creates her own belt to take on the three Riders and take the power of the Mixmon for herself. Her belt uses the power of a set of unused concept cards she won in a contest. Clarissa quickly proves herself capable of beating the trio and even seriously injures Nicholas.

Ian Newton and James Horton created Mixmon together. Ian came up with the concepts for the Mixmon themselves and James came up with the mechanics of the game. At first Ian wanted to call it Gestarot but James and the people at Bayside Games convinced him to change it to Mixmon. Disgusted at himself for "degrading" down his life's work he grew bitter towards James and Bayside. This bitterness grew to hatred and he cut all ties with James and began plotting revenge against Bayside. His plan for revenge was thwarted when Nicholas intervened leading to the release of the Mixmon. Furious at the setback he instructed his daughter Edith to use a belt he created to fight Nicholas in his name. However she eventually saw through his lies and joined forces with Nicholas. He was then approached by one of his supporters, a woman named Clarissa Parker who uses what he teaches her to create her own belt as Power Rider Wildcard. When the Riders manage to defeat Wildcard and capture the Mixmon Ian grows desperate and in his desperation he performs a second dark ceremony. This ceremony releases the villains of Mixmon, in the lore a trio of Dark Alchemists attempt to create the ultimate warrior by creating unnatural combinations. Torod Master of Mind Razelia Mistress of Magic Ilyuk Master of Might The Dark Alchemists have the ability to transmute elements into warriors to fight the Riders. But even as they fought Ian was scheming. He convinced the Dark Alchemists to bestow him with a third of each of their power, allowing him to become Power Rider Primist to fight in their name. However he set up the Dark Alchemists to face the Riders as they grow stronger and stronger. Sure enough the Alchemists fall and Ian gains the full power of the three. Now with this power Ian makes a final attempt to take the revenge he feel he is owed. Transformation System: Primist System Transformation Call: Let's Ride! There's a "bar" in a little corner in the back near the pool table, cash only, whatever homegrown mead the maddy locals felt like making and, always, absinthe and sugar. just try not to spill the bitter sugar concoction when some punk is crawling around on the rafters.
upstairs is a few army cots and couches, a cozy little trip cave/crash pad.

Another few things that happened during my conference.
I got heckled by a car full of teenage girls. Then they drove around the block and heckled me again.
A memoir writer I admire but don't know shouted at me Forever War (the name of my book) as we were leaving the book fair.
While I was walking to a reading with a new friend I wanted to impress, we came upon a freight train stopped on the tracks. The event venue was just on the other side, and there was no way around. I was like, I can't skip this train. I can't die because I fell off a boxcar or end up in California with a new life as a trainhopper. But 20 minutes later, the train was still there. So I climbed over the train 😱😱😱 and didn't die or end up in California.
At the very end of the last night, in a state of exhaustion, I was embarrassingly familiar with the famous keynote speaker, a poet I met briefly a few years ago who has no reason to know me or want to engage with me in any way. I rounded the corner to the elevator bank, saw him, was taken aback, yelled "Hey [first name]!" and then I tried to get on the elevator with him, but the problem is that these were elevators that had the floor buttons on the outside, not inside. So you can't just get in any of them. You have to essentially call an elevator just for your specific floor. It was so embarrassing. I'm so embarrassed. I'm so embarrassing!!!

Yeah!! Meda is an anthropomorphic horse (haven't decided on any specific breed), 170cm, 57kg, and the main character in my Reith worldbuilding project. In a relationship with Andi, an anthro horse-dog hybrid, he drags her around on his antics. He's constantly being watched by Milly, a jealous uni-antler'd photographer reindeer lady. Under surveillance by the very strict government of Reith; they don't have much on him, and they can't approach him in a legal manner because he's not on any official registries. He's works for a rather shady service; he's an on-call worker typically tasked with retrieving resurrected people from the dark half of the tidally locked planet. There's a bit of lore behind this; The planet of Reith itself is created by computer gods, comprising of 2 hemispheres which creates a great cliff at the equator, the sunlight touching the bigger half creating a habitable wreath of land; there's a magical phenomenon where unwitnessed deaths result in resurrection on the dark half of the planet. With no sunlight and extremely low temperatures, nobody who is resurrected lasts long; if they manage to sustain themselves, they turn into liches with a primal desire to kill every living thing they can find. (I have some super deep lore with this between 2 other characters; I really need to write it all out in a spreadsheet or something lol) He's a lover, a lifted gondola operator, a trainhopper, an adventurer, a troublemaker, a transformation stone user, and the interfacer of a corrupt computer god; he's set on a mission to disrupt an impossibly advanced space-age AI supercomputer from "solving" life by constantly causing disturbances, preventing it from producing 100% accurate results, and fighting to find out who on the planet is intentionally contributing to this AI. And he has big, fluffy ears.
