Credit to @irongirlexperiment : Swim, swam, swum. Swimming minus the belly is a little faster these days. I’ve been feeling so motivated to get better at this discipline (finally). But it feels like such a looooong road ahead to better ➡️ best. No excuses anymore. I’ve got to learn to #trainyourweaknesses if I’m going to realize next year’s IM dreams. Habits, right? . The one thing I do know, is that in the process are promises. You train, you WILL get better. I’ve got the tools, I’ve got the determination, now it’s a matter of DOING. . It’s both simultaneously frustrating and highly rewarding to know that this isn’t going to yield results tomorrow, and maybe not even in time for my next race. But if I do get this thing to stick, I will see results in 2020. . I’ve been working everything off (including my 🍑) training for this 70.3. Only two months away and I’m keenly aware of how far I still have to go to get to where I want to be. Every day is a two-a-day or a three-a-day. Oh hey there pause squats (5 second pauses at the bottom at 50% of my one rep max). We then worked up to three sets at 90%, but with no pause. • Hitting parallel and below has been a challenge for me as a misguided attempt at getting fit (aka skinny) had me on the treadmill at the highest incline for an hour or more daily. Because of this and the way I had to move to walk on it at such a speed, my hip joints are a point of pain for me when it comes to squatting. It doesn't mean I can't hit depth.
