Productive crafting day for me!

There's a fiber arts gathering tomorrow I plan to go to, and I wanted to bring bobbin lace, but I had nothing on my pillow.

So I fixed that

I also combed another 8g of locks for my ring shawl spin, which doesn't sound like much but it filled the plastic container I'm storing it in.

Then I was feeling guilty for avoiding casting on a blanket my mom wants (and bought the yarn for months ago) so I did that too

Good news!

The other day, I noticed someone left a big green pot next to the trash, with a cut off christmas tree in it. As soon as I saw it I knew I would think of nothing else until I get that pot. I went home to ditch all the things I was carrying, and I came back with gloves and determination.

The pot was filled to brim with clay and stabbed deeply with a cut tree, and I had to wrench it out. It was a tough job! The clay remaining inside was so dense I barely managed to scratch it out with my fingers; I actually ditched the gloves because I decided I liked how dirty the clay was. I freed the pot and carried it home.

The green pot. Is incredible. Not only it's the largest pot I've ever owned, the plastic is so firm and dense it could last forever. It's stronger than any bucket I ever had. And. It's green! It's beautiful. I immediately knew what I wanted to do with it – this is where my future lemon tree would grow. A lemon tree in a green pot is a fantasy level pleasing visual. I just need to wait for my lemon tree to grow a little more before it can be transplanted! Maybe after this summer.

Here's an image of where my little tree is right now, and the beautiful green pot! I didn't have time to wash it yet. Interestingly the gray pot the lemon tree is in right now, was also a trash find. People keep supplying me with what I need.

i meant to be writing angst but suddenly all i can think about is the comedic potential of riko ending up with the foxes. all the foxes are ready to give riko hell but then it's immediately apparent that without evermore and the ravens, he's just an angry cat that's had its claws trimmed. who knew it was possible to find someone even more helpless than kevin was when he first arrived. this is a guy who's definitely never done his own laundry or dishes in his life. they'd find him trying to load dirty dishes into the microwave or something. he'd definitely shrink all his new clothes into crop tops and dye the orange and white Fox team outfits an ugly grey by accident in a day. this is a guy who's probably never been to a bar or had alcohol in his life. he doesn't know he's one of those asians who're alcohol intolerant will try to copy kevin's drinking habits and end up throwing up on people at eden's within half an hour. he'd have separation anxiety so bad that he starts following people around and antagonizing them until they punched him. yeah sure, kevin was like a sheltered princess, but riko's like the worst 7-year-old you've ever met.

time for what might actually be a controversial opinion in my corner of the mdzs fandom but, uh

i do actually think we should stay out of the canon jiang cheng tag 😬 like yes, it’s absurd to create a tag that includes the word “canon” in it for content that is largely just very bad faith fanon takes, but forget the pedantry of that for a second and just bear with me.

if i’m understanding the fandom history of this tag correctly, the canon jiang cheng crowd specifically started using it because fans of jc (rightfully!!) got on their case about constantly dropping their character hate and bad faith commentary in the general character tags

they have by and large been consistent about tagging their bizarre hateboner content with this tag. they are self-containing in an easily avoidable quarantine zone (which is more than the jgy antis ever bother to do)

aside from how people who like jiang cheng feel about a group of antis claiming that their tag is the “canon” one, realistically people who are looking for jc content are just going to type his name into the search bar and then explore the general tags first

i’m not a jc stan, but i do like him and categorically disagree with the cjc crowd’s assessment of his character. but like. i make a very big deal on this blog about not tagging character hate, or not tagging pointless character negativity that no one actually wants to see, or making use of known character-critical tags so that people can easily sort and filter what they’re looking for on this site without forcing other people who are just minding their business in the general tags to see stuff that is just shitty and mean-spirited. it would be extremely rich of me to say those things and then turn around and not say something, or even encourage, my followers to cross that line. even for people who have been cunty at me and my friends in the past.

like honestly just… let them have their little enclosure where they can say their wrong things to each other, and leave them alone. the adults can just keep talking in the general jiang cheng tags.
