Okay... what?
This post has SINCE* been deleted, but I'm in a mood so I have some shit to say. Firstly, if you are watching 911 because of FAN EDITS of Buddie, you are going to be sorely disappointed in the show. The edits twist the show, because none of that you see on the actual show.
Secondly, MOST PEOPLE DO NOT WATCH THE SHOW FOR BUDDIE. The GA is consistantly between 4 and 10 million people (between live watches and delayed viewing), the vast majority of them wouldn't even be able to tell you what a Buddie is. Most people watch the show for Angela Bassett.
Now that we got that out of the way... The rest of the comment is just gross, biphobic, and fetishizing.
"I think they should have just removed the whole Buck being bisexual and make him straight all through if they weren't willing to explore it the way they openly do in Lone Star."
Holy shit that's gross. He is exploring it. With his boyfriend. Tommy. A man.
Lone Star has two established gay male leads whose main arc in the show is their relationship. They were established as queer and you know they are going to be together by the end of the first episode.
OR... do you mean that there should be sex scenes at 8pm on ABC because you want to see them have sex? That's fetishize-y and weird, bro. 911 has never had intimate scenes as involved as Lone Star. You'll get falling in the bed after, someone on top of someone else still mostly dressed, implied role play, but that's it.
You don't have to have sex scenes to explore a characters sexuality or relationships. And you don't have to be queer to even explore your sexuality. Buck has been exploring his sexuality since we met him. He literally got fired exploring his sexuality.
Moral of the story: if you start watching a show because of fan edits you're going to be disappointed and mistaken. This is the Angela and Peter show.
If you only watch the show for a fanon ship, you probably shouldn't watch the show because the entire ensemble is great. Watch the show because you love the vibe, not for a hope and dream ship that is never going to happen. The only place it will ever be true is in fandom. So enjoy your fic and art, but remember that Buck has his own storyline apart from Eddie, always has. Eddie has never even been the most important person in Buck's storyline.

Checked the polymarket for the presidential election to find Trump is still rated with a 58% chance, also checked the comments and found the guy who is convinced Kamala is going to rig the election and has placed his bet accordingly.

I feel like there's some potential psychological benefit to the Tumblr anon ask feature. Like the ability for anyone to say anything they want, but it will be challenged to be published, its let me ask questions def that I would be embarrassed to and also doesn't reward that ignorance by creating a cesspool of agreement. Inherently. This is to assume every Tumblr answerer is honest and true.

sorry yall I’ve had one of the worst years of my adult life, lost a lot and learned a lot in a really hard and bad way
Gravity falls is eternally my comfort and something rly special to me bc unlike so much media, I discovered it on my own, loved it on my own, and the characters I grew attached to, and made my own AUs of, have predated the terrible things I’ve encountered and will live long after them too
so it’s gonna be a fixation for a while, bear with me

It is always such a sad thing when you want to reblog another person's insanely cool reblog, but you can't and you don't understand why so you check... And it is just that the original poster, whom you never interacted with, blocked you apparently... And you shall never know why because again, you never interacted with this person or ever saw their blog.
Tumblr is always a place for weird introspection

I love how the billy fans get pinned as the fandom racists for *checks notes* liking a fictional character, but when the rest of the fandom partakes in actual racist ideologies and rhetoric and behavior towards actors on the show and fellow fans (namely billy fans of color) … suddenly racism doesn’t exist, they’ve never heard of her. Convenient how it only comes up for people you specifically don’t like.
And because y’all are the majority everyone just accepts it as truth and fact. But we don’t have time to unpack all that!

Yes it was Martha LMAO!!! She is hands down my favorite doctor who companion and racism was definitely at play for a lot of her hate too!!! People just hid it behind the writer’s weird decision to make her persistent in chasing the doctor’s affection lol.
But she was and is such a bad ass and deserved so much more than what she got which was to be paired off with the only other black character (at the time) who was also treated poorly by the characters and the fandom. I never watched any of the spin offs or anything, so idk if they had an actual build up to a relationship but it definitely felt like the writers were trying to pretend that they didn’t treat both of them poorly by making them an item. Also, it just felt like, to me at least, that they were just pairing off PoC characters to try and pretend like there wasn’t some internalized racism at play in their writing, but that’s just my opinion!
Doctor Who was just a hard fandom in general to be in because having a discussion about character flaws was next to impossible when the characters in question were already deemed as angels or devils lol.
Also, Martha was definitely my gateway into beautiful women in the medical field 😂.
you know what im going to watch s2 just for her. hot doctor? i'm IN.

the fact that The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time has a higher goodreads rating than The Magicians is the most damning thing i could possibly say about that wretched platform

the way disco elysium plays with and ultimately shatters the concept of "camaraderie" in the police and the military truly is So. Good.
it introduces you to kim who is this ideal of the Brother in Arms - you meet him and you know. he'd lay it all down for you.
you then proceed to realize this is a kim thing, not a cop thing, despite the skill that informs you about it being The Cop Camaraderie skill
the rest of the cops are not just unhelpful, they're cruel. they're a boys' club of toxic masculinity, homophobia and joking about how they abuse their power, like when jean stole mustard from a homeless man. if harry begs them for help, the greatest kindness the operator can do for him is pretend he didn't hear and cut the connection to save harry's pride. the more you put into this skill, the more the rancid underbelly of policing and policemen as individuals in this system comes to light.
and that's before we get into the plot-relevant stuff, how martinaise was abandoned by jean and co because jean was too damn busy trying to make a point to harry than do his fucking job.
then there's the bond between the paramilitary squad. unlike the cops, they're tight, a family to each other, and it makes them completely immune to reason the moment the Head of their hierarchy gets murdered. and this head of theirs, the most rational, most charismatic of them all, their leader, still was a monster who, for His Men and their Morale, saw kidnapping some poor girl and offering her like a human sacrifice to the pit of animals that was his squadron as a Rational course of action.
maybe there's love there, in a way, but it's the kind of love that wholly depends on seeing your circle as the only people deserving of life, and the rest of the world as insects.
and i think abt how so many other stories that try to be cop or military critical still fall into that trap of believing that the people in these environs are a Family doing their Best, that they got each others back and thats all that they need to get through this!(whatever plot event is happening)
and not that its like. a cesspool of keeping each other in Check or maintaining that Family only by Othering the rest of the world
