#trying to be the zero sugar

I've said this before, but all these posts like "straight men are radicalizing, maybe we need to be nicer to the straight men" are failing to grapple with the fact that you can't be "nicer" to someone than a supremacy movement geared toward them.
In a "who makes me feel good?" contest, it's not actually possible to beat a movement that says The Entire World Rightfully Belongs To You And Everyone Else Exists To Serve You. That message is unbeatable, at least as long as it sounds plausibly true or achievable.
If you want to defeat that movement, you can't just try to win its subjects over by being nicer to them. You'll hollow yourself out and betray yourself ideologically by trying to cater to them and you'll still lose because the supremacy movement is still doing it better than you ever could.
You win against a supremacy movement by attacking the plausibility of it. If you move the goal of "a world where everything is bent to my will" far enough out of reach, fewer and fewer straight men (or white people, or Christians, or whatever group you're trying to reach) will choose to burn every relationship in their life to try to achieve it.
Your allies in doing that are everyone else. But not if you throw them under the bus trying to win over the one group of people who will always be getting a better offer.
