Latmos Edits Stuff #2 @miniculesim's 4t2 Alien Bun hair mesh

This one was a small project… originally. I asked @brandinotbroke if per chance I could take a look at a mesh they had mentioned wanting to use as a DR, but were not looking forward "animating" the mesh. I mainly wanted an excuse to learn how to do it with Blender. Turns out it wasn't too hard (thanks to this and this tutorial 🌼). But then, I saw the polycount and felt it could be smaller, and went downhill from there on out 😂 Anyways, list of changes under the cut:

Polycount reduction from 17K to around 8K (more than half!)

Separated the mesh into two subsets.

Re-converted for TF. Converted for AM, TM and CU.

Naturally, animated (mg. hair physics) the mesh

Smoothed out some of the weights (minimal)

Swapped the textures for better quality ones (extracted from TS4)

New package files using "my" method of file optimization. Shared resources for available ages/genders are now separated into a file with prefix "REPO".

This means this version is standalone from Minicule's original! Sadly there was too much changed to keep it a mesh edit only.

… quite a lot in the end 😅 All credit still goes to Minicule, since they're the one who adapted the mesh to TS2 head. Check out their version here (and drop a heart too)!

As a bonus, I'm providing an alternative version that's repositoried to one of @platinumaspiration's DR hairs. This one in particular. This is because the original mesh by LadyKendalSims is based on a mesh by EA, that was used in the DR 4t2 Hair collection. So if you have that, save yourself a few KBs, and download the repo'd version. 🙂

♡ Notes ♡:

- you can pick-and-choose the recolors you want. i recommend using the 'CCMerger' program to merge the recolors you want to keep everything together and orderly. - i used @pforestsims shine fix to remove any shinyness from the blanket, laundry pile, games, and tv. - use OSMPs to place blanket on bed (i used these ones) - everything has been compressed using 'The Compressorizer!'

I always find @powluna's kid stuff irresistibly cute and I wanna convert all of it, but sometimes something just jumps out at me. This time, that something was her Candace pj's. Had the timing gone differently, they might have been my xmas post. Instead, here we are in March. Still good weather for snuggly pj's.

Set as Everyday and Sleepwear, unisex, with fat morphs. (Fat morphs for the bows too.)

I'm a bit proud of myself for how I set these up. Despite the variations you see in the preview, there are just two meshes for this set. The top mesh has 3D bows that can be hidden (a little tricky for me) and the bottoms can have socks or bare feet (which was easy).

There are 24 shirts with bows, 54 shirts without bows, and 54 pants both with and without socks. Sock textures are converted from the TS4 BG using The Tattooer, and some are recolored by me. The barefoot pants are available repo'ed to the socks version.

I didn't make my own swatches this time, but powluna always includes full swatches in her posts. See her swatches here.

powluna recently did TS4 infant and toddler versions of these pj's, which might be even cuter. I was already thinking of doing a toddler version, now I really wanna. Probably not soon, but maybe in a couple of months. Will I do a baby version? Hmm. Less likely, but not impossible.

Functional Butcher Kiosk!

I wanted to have a butcher shop in my game, where sims could go and purchase stockable food items that look like packaged meat. I don’t have any families in mind to run it, and I’m not really into that kind of raising cattle gameplay. I also don’t have an owned grocery store, so I can’t mark the stockable meat for sale on the lot.

The fun part is the meat you’re seeing on the shelves is just deco. The Decra Chill Shelf is actually a “fake” one. And I used it as the mesh for my kiosk! So when I click on the DecraChill, the menu pops up to ask if I want to purchase the meats 😭

This is so amazing, I was so proud when it worked 🥲

The kiosk can be found in kitchen appliances for $2000 simoleons.

Edited Models for Modding Objects

Hi everyone, something different today! I followed a tutorial for editing object models in SimPE by hugelunatic last night and was very excited with the outcome, so thought others might be interested too.

I have changed the default object models for the mods ACR, FFS Debugger/Batbox, Sim Manipulator, Sim Blender, and the Visitor Controller. They are now a bonsai tree, frost de fleur vase, watering can, piece of driftwood and tip jar.

I have also changed the additional models you can choose from! I've used all Maxis objects and hopefully there's a good variety between all 5 mods and the types of objects used e.g. potplants, kitchen clutter, outdoor items, things to blend into community lots etc.

I have included a text file listing all models for all mods! You'll see all these items in the pictures below, along with some basic ideas of how to decorate your lots. You might need to use the moveobjects cheat to place some of the options nicely. I also plan to upload versions for less modern games soon 😁

I have the Ultimate Collection so use versions of the mods compatible with that, and use Maxis objects across all EPs and SPs for models.

Be sure to remove any other versions of these files you might have, they may be named differently!!

ive been really busy and wasn't able to finish this in time for halloween! but i hope someone will enjoy these now regardless lol, more details and DL under the cut!

its no secret i like to obsessively pose scenes in sims 2 lol and i edited some various "movie" posters (they aren't real movies obv). I tried to keep them with a pretty true-to-sims-energy style. Some of them have video game energy and could be used in gaming stores too!

the posters come on artig and also surfing the universe for super collection peeps. Idk why I put them on a poster that isn't nearly the same aspect ratio, it made it way harder for no reason lol. The films are:

Blood in the Water (tagline: at the beach...looking like a snack)

Phantom Photo (j horror-inspired, you can prob guess the game! :P)

A Generous Man (a Rod Humble horror movie..whats in the box!!)

Virus Hunters (tagline: the best way to kill a virus...is with a gun)

here's how the artig recolors look on various add-ons by @littlelittlesimmies . Sadly as you can see the posters get a bit cut-off on the artig poster add-on because I extended outside of artig's white border and didn't realize they got cut off until late in the process ;_;

i made the artig ones at 1024 originally so included them just in case someone wants hq textures. up close you can tell a difference, but from normal game distance they look essentially the same. So you can pick between 512 or 1024 in the folder.

I really love new kits ❤❤ I like that they were inspired by Don and Bella ❤❤ so I started converting some stuff from them ❤ The first thing I want to convert was this beautiful dress (SP59 Dress) ❤❤ I just love them ❤ although I was bothered by the long skirt with the slit (damn bones... 😅). It's not as perfect as I would have liked, but I hope you like it anyway ❤❤

I thought for a long time about what kind of shoes I would put with them, but in the end I decided on shoes from the same kit :)

By the way, I hope you're enjoying celebrating our amazing The Sims 🥳🥳, I can't believe it's already 25 years old. And what do you think of the rerelased ts1 and ts2? :)

The laundromat set is separated and the dryer floats on its own so....they kind of go together that way. If you wanted a floor dryer, you can clone one of the dryers offered in the mod and swap for the washer model. I didn't do it cuz.... yep :)

TS2 Default: Apartment Life Tech fences

Never, in the history of ever, have I used these...tech fences? Why the tear-drops? Why stained glass? Why so tall? Why these color combinations?? It's an aesthetic I'm baffled by.

I made a default mesh edit for myself, but I realized some other folks might enjoy this fix too! Details & link below the cut.

I shortened the fences to a sensible handrail height, I cleared away the teardrops, and I added a floor edge hider so you can have clean-looking balconies.

If you put them on the ground the floor edge hider will sink and not be visible beyond a small strip.

This is a mesh-only fix so it'll still use the same textures as the original fence (black, steel, and white). I think this mesh edit makes the fence 1000% more usable for a variety of building styles now that it's not so...zany.
