After about a year, my base game save is finally done! My goal for it was to pretty up the world a bit/make it more interactable with twistedmexi's TOOL mod, and to make an overall fun gameplay experience!

Despite being base game, there are packs I highly recommend, being Seasons and Get Together. Seasons are not really necessary, there's only one seasons trait and career used, but most people have it anyway so. thought I'd mention. I do however, highly recommend Get Together. There's a ton of clubs, from classes, friend groups, dating pools and more.

There are no empty homes, but you can evict anyone you want. Go wild.

📌All three base game worlds refreshed!📌

most of the TOOL additions are in Willow Creek and Newcrest, as Oasis Springs is already perfect to me (ily oasis springs). There are no park lots in the world, instead you'll have to find them around! I wanted to encourage exploration as much as possible, I even found nice sceneries I didn't know existed while I was making it!

📌Hotels!📌

There is at least one hotel in each world, from shabby to glamourous! (Hot player tip™️: bring a gnome with you. Or just something that you can drag from your inventory to block a door. It basically locks the door! you're welcome)

📌University!📌

You may not have $50 to spare on a boring university experience. So why not have a taste in the base game? (Get Together is recommended to have more fleshed out classes, but not required) Complete with dorms, a Cafe, library and garden!

📌Retirement home!📌

Need a place to dump your elders until the 17th+ expansion pack, Get Old? Here is the perfect place to do it! (For Rent could be used on this lot if you prefer that playstyle) But just because everyone's over the age of 60, doesn't mean its short on drama!

📌Lore & Drama! 📌

Every household has its own storyline, for better or for worse. There's a ton of new households, as well as some old ones. the old ones have all been given makeovers, and some even have new lore!

📌Challanges!📌

In case you're not a story-based player, there's a few challenges in the world! Big day for rags to riches and 100 baby challenge fans.

📌Mysteries, for the player to solve!📌

There are several untold and unfinished storylines around the world. How many will end in a happy reunion?

📌And lastly, townies!📌

Every single townie has been given a makeover, So you won't get randomly generated sims clogging up your world! Or so I thought. It turns out, even if you give every randomly generated townie a makeover, the game will still generate more :( I think the only solution is to get a mod that controls how they spawn, I haven't tried any yet, so I can't give any recommendations.

Just drag the file into your saves folder! Remember when downloading save files to back up your own. Make sure you don't have any save files with the same name! If you do this one might override it.

📌Additional notes:📌

📌Willow creek and Newcrest are pretty close in my mind. I'm going for a realistic playstyle, where distance between worlds is considered. (People is Oasis Springs probably don't know many from Newcrest, for example) But there is some overlap between these two worlds.

📌There are a few lots that you can use For Rent with.

📌The secret lots have also been made over!

📌If you don't have Cottage Living, delete the NPCs from that pack before playing. I kept them in, so the game didn't randomly generate anyone to fill the roles. (If you don't, you'll have them walking around naked)

📌You may get an error entering households, that you're missing content. This is likely just from traits from the mods I had in at the time (Although this was made with no mods in mind. So traits from lumpinou's mods may not line up with the storyline sims have been given)

📌I've had a bug where saving as a new file clears some relationships. Idk if that's just my game, but something to keep in mind.

📌eventually, more worlds will be done over! So far on the list is: Windenburg, San Myshuno, Tomarang, Brindleton Bay, Magnolia Promenade, Moonwood Mill, Del Sol Valley, Evergreen Harbor, San Myshuno, StrangerVille, Sulani, Forgotten Hollow, Henford-on-Bagley and Tartosa.

📌most sims have bonus traits from the rewards store! I feel like it fleshes them out a bit more. and I never play with bonus traits.

V.1: Silent Pines, 1998 Special Credit: Silent Pines is heavily inspired by and uses a very similar style to the stunning @windbrook savefile by @folkling, the gorgeous portsim savefile by @florwal, and the amazing builds by @moonwoodmillz. Thank you all for your hard work, I take a lot of inspiration from you all. Silent Pines is a base-game only save file inspired by Life is Strange with 3 major worlds, a whole new set of townies, and a complete mystery to solve.

I used S4Studio to rename all the worlds, and I've decorated all the neighbourhoods with T.O.O.L. As I said before, Silent Pines is completely base-game friendly, absolutely no packs or kits are used. There is some custom CC, mainly posters that add to the story. The CC is one package file and adds nothing other than some customisation to the story. It is not required.

For example the missing poster of Cleo Emerson, a girl who disappeared under mysterious circumstances;

Base Game Renovation: Johnny's Trailer

Johnny’s tiny trailer couldn’t be more different from the massive mansion he grew up in. Instead of a cold, empty, modern mansion he has a cozy, colorful space to personalize however he likes. It might not be much, but it’s his, and he’s making it count. That includes his front garden, which he managed to landscape on his own. It’s his second proudest achievement, next to his first comedy special, that is.

Base game save file update: Newcrest is done! THANK GOD IM SO SICK OF THE BASE GAME SUBURBAN BUILD STYLE. IM SO EXCITED TO WORK ON MY FAVORITE BASE GAME WORLD

In the bottom we have the community lots that I forgot to get photos of rn 💀 The lounge is a fancy hotel, and next to it is an apartment building. Then the "park" is a pool and gym and next to it is a diner. the last building is a kids play centre.

The side is just a row of houses, I just added some more trees around since it looked more like a place for community lots then houses (but then what are the giant lots for?)

And then at the top we have more houses and a church for weddings and burying your loved ones- there's also 2 starter homes here and i fleshed out the park!

The park might look odd if you dont have seasons or its not summer/winter since that big ass skating rink is randomly placed in the middle 💀 they couldn't have put it off the path, at least?

Church & Dragonfly Wedding Venue [Base Game]

This is a WIP build for my base game only save file: Silent Pines. This lot contains a small church, graveyard, and an inn/wedding venue. I've never built something like this before in the style of Silent Pines so I hope I'm doing it justice.

I also finished a motel lot, a library, and a dive bar/music store, so things are going well! Thank you again for all the love and support, it really motivates me to build <3

savefile stress tips

some things that‘ve helped me set up my save file & still play the game without feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or get caught in perfectionism lately! (as a neurodivergent bean ☀️)

have a test savefile where i make/edit townies and play them as i go/feel like it. this test save is „in the past“ , i.e. : ive started off finishing & playing bob & betty newbie, when my finished/base save file im working on is going to be Brandi‘s generation.

I can remove any sims from this test save that i know i want to be around in brandis generation- so they wont meet her parents at the age theyre supposed to be in her generation etc. I often get overwhelmed by the volume of townies & this also allows me to keep in townies i dont have much of a connection to and just see if stories develop with them naturally. those stories can then carry on down the generation to my Base savefile (for example the kids of townies i didnt care much for, could become beloved and then be in brandis generation) im also slowly aging down some townies & creating familys for them as i play to imagine what their life may have been like in childhood and give me more of a story idea on them for later. (for example the bffs are kids when brandi is a toddler, now. and their story has wound up interlacing with hers a little!) its fun to see what sims will interact and can give me some ideas for where things may be later on during brandis gen/savefile!

i have a 2nd semi vanilla/„low committment“ savefile. this one i dont make lore for or have any expectations for, its also to embrace the chaos of unplanned gameplay and just going along with the ride. it serves the purpose of letting me jump in with no thought/prep for events or just some one off gameplay or building when i feel like it, without feeling worried about how it may affect things or setting anything up etc. if something happens that i really enjoy, i can port it/note it down to include in my save later, in some capacity. Im also using this save file to explore the gallery and test out builds in gameplay to see if i like them in action, and just play generally very freely and carelessly when i feel like my test save makes me a but tense mentally!

i make frequent backups of my tray files(as anyone should ofc)- but after each time, i go through my tray files in game and delete any wips of households or builds, that ive since completed. this way, im keeping my tray files organized and know how much ive gotten done, without the confusion of multiple versions or duplicates! And then i can quickly place these into the Base save file (and back that up, too xP)
