Aftg theories

I can’t wait to see what Nora does with all the current loose threads of power players surrounding the Foxes and the Trojans in the third book.

She did such a good job in the original trilogy of mapping out how the different powers influenced things by the end and she’s set up a lot of supposedly “lawful” and blatantly “unlawful” power players in TSC and TGR. She’s even flushed out some of the dynamics from the original trilogy.

There’s the powers surrounding Jean and Kevin and Neil but there’s also soooo much potential in the forces around Jeremy. I don’t think he’s let people pull power to stand with him yet and the power around him has been yielded against his will (freshman year cover up, hidden rehab). We’ve seen lots of set up for both Jeremy’s step grandfather and Laila’s dad but I don’t think we’ve seen either of them fully show their hand yet.

There’s also so many unanswered question and potential unexplored connections of the Kayleigh Day of it all. Not sure if we’ll ever get that more flushed out though.

I’ll probably make a compilation of quotes and map out all the connections at some point since I can’t help but dive into details even on this post. Someone please point me to blogs if I’m just missing that analysis haha. Or hell build on this if you want, my brain is def itching to dive into the possibilities more.

Post TKM Jean originally, and now?

Miss Nora has put in a post about the foxes post TKM that Jean graduated with the trojans, worked hells of a lot in therapy, and made a pro team but never aimed for court and didn't make the cut anyway. That, however, was also in the post where she said there would be no book four. When now we have TSC and soon to be TGR, so has that changed, or maybe that was just a no foxhole book four specifically? I would have liked the idea that Jean did go to court but at the same time I see overarching issue. Mans is kind of in limbo as to if he actually enjoys the sport vs if it's just a job he needs for his literal survival. He likely just gets to a point where he does indeed like his job/sport and call it good enough so he can just Live (and damn that man is in love with life and it's beautiful). Five years in a sport cult just to be sold off even more directly to the mafia head is to say in the least, daunting. Again, this was a post TKM post, he's already signed to Ichirou, and the deal is majority of his salary. If pro Exy is like pro football where they actually have to cap their salaries, then he's making plenty of money. Plus, if court is like the Olympics, the athletes if not signed for advertising deals make like, no money, none, so there isn't an incentive mafia looming wise. Basically, I don't think that would have changed but with the coming books and the addition of if Jeremy (who's future hasn't yet been mentioned (as far as I know)) how would/will his plans change?

when people write "war about thea is over let's sit in a circle and hold hands" i start to think that either I'm the aggressor of the century or i'm just stupid and missed something. i do not know what people found exceptionally good about thea in tsc, but i had enough of a huge description of how terrible ravens are. it's literally a cult that creates monstroids with suicidal maniacal tendencies and thea remains "TRUE RAVEN" after all this shit. my God, what the hell does true raven even mean if the truth about this hell is revealed later? like.. I don't even have the words to describe how my delicate mental organization is traumatized by the fact that someone can know about all the horrors that's going on in ravens and in their right mind say "I'm a true raven".

oh god so I’m on ava rp right now and the most unhinged crap just went down

so i’m rping as TCO and theres some other person rping as Mitsi so as we approach there’s the obvious AHH GO DIE YOU KILLED ME and NO I DIDNT shit going on in between us

and in the background someone is rping as TSC and someone is rping as TDL and TSC is kind of dying from my understanding so basically I stop my conversation and go up to TSC and TDL like "BROTHA, PLEASE STOP KILLING HIM WE TALKED ABOUT THIS" and TSC dies and suddenly everyone crashes out and Mitsi is like "this is what you get for setting my ass on fire"

so i'm tweaking like hell and TDL is like "you really thought I could be better? yeah nah" and I GET SET ON FIRE FOR SOME REASON I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY COULD DO THAT so yeah TCO is crying Mitsi is dying laughing (irl) and TSC is somewhere my memory is fuzzy

so yeah then TDL is like "haha this is what you get" and starts talking about like sacrificing me or smth and everyone else agrees so the fire stops and sudddenly I start glowing and then they teleported me to the old lobby and I just kind of said unhinged shit in the chat and cried and kept saying "why'd they send me to the box 2.0"

but eventually i was teleported back and i chilled for a bit until THIS went down

TDL came back like "hey, i teleported you into The Box 2.0" and I'm like OH SHIIIIII but then he's like "here's some cake for your efforts" so I immediately ask "is it poisoned" and TDL is like "NO WTF" so I eat the cake and cry in the corner and he's like "do you like it" and I'm like "yeah....?" and he's like "DID YOU LIKE IT YES OR NO"

and bro is tormenting me for like 10 minutes like DID YOU FUCKING LIKE MY CAKE so finally I'm like YES I LOVED IT (crying ofc)

so yeah i’m sitting in the corner crying eating cake and then someone else joins as TCO so we team up under the belief that The Whole Server is Out to Kill Us

I’m not sure what happened during this tume bc I started writing this around there and making “i left to write on tumbler for 5 seconds tf happened” jokes

this is also when i gave TDL rper #2 a cake because i was given two for some reason

our main villian Mitsi came back all “miss me lol” and we tweaked out for a while until eveyone escaped to the ava 11 map (YEAH THIS WAS ALL IN THE MAP SELECTION ROOM 😔)

so me and TDL #2 sit on the picnic blanket and eat our cake together crying while watching shit go down with everyone else. i wasn’t really paying attention ngl but SOMETHING with victim and Mitsi happened. And agent, and like 2 other TDL rpers. (TCO #2 was also chilling with us but didnt really do anything ngl ;-;)

So eventually Mitsi starts tweaking out again for some reason or another so her and I meet up again and instead she’s went full “I want revenge” mode and I’m basically backing away from her begging her not to kill me because I ain’t like that anymore and I think she’s innocent and I’m sorry blablablajdkskdj

(i was telling her how i’d make a comic about this the whole time she accepted the idea, mitsi rper if you’re on tumblr yeah it’s me 😭)

so yeah she chased me around for a while until she cornered me and there was the whole Cinematic Ahh “please don’t kill me broski i’ve changed” thing

THEN OUT OF NOWHERE, TSC APPEARS AND SAYS “dayum, mitsi is NOT having this” smth along the lines of that so theres like awkward silence and Mitsi turns towards him like “what did you just say to me.”

and he’s deadass like “you’re not taking ANY of this shi what about it” and ofc I gotta protect my lil bro so I scream at him “SECOND, PLEASE NO SERIOUSLY LEAVE HER ALONE” and bro doesn’t listen and then THEY get into an arguement

so i awkwardly back away towards TDL #2 and we stare awkwardly and eat our cake until I told them I had to leave and might come back later so yeah that’s what i’m doing now 😭 I might update this in a bit tho when I’m done eating because I have ropro and I can join back on the server hehe

Reasons why TSC Fans are looking forward to TWP

KitTy, obviously.

Dru, Ash and Jaime dynamic. I bet there's going to a lot of heavy stuff with them, both boys crushing on 1 girl. Dru, you go, girl!

I also heard that people want to learn more of other Shadowhunter families other than the main 5, that is to say, Herondales, Blackthorns, Carstairs, Fairchilds and Lightwoods. In TWP, we'll learn about a Brazilian family, Pedroso (from Dru's friend at the Academy, Thais Pedroso) and an Indian family, Joshi (from Ty's friend at the Scholomance, Anush Joshi). Variety!

Finally, a non-evil Morgenstern (I'm talking Ash here)! The only other good Morgenstern that we have is Clary, and she doesn't even take up the name, choosing to stick to Clarissa Fairchild. It's time the Morgenstern name was cleared.

We never got to hear what happened to Kit and Simon from Thule. Also, Mark and Kieran from Thule might still be alive, because of the protection of The Wild Hunt. We also have a live Cristina, and a live Livvy Blackthorn. One can only guess what happened to Simon and Kit. Comment if you have any ideas or theories cuz I only have one and I got it from another post.

We also have so many loose ends, like the Cohort, Janus, the Fey, Thule, the Princes of Hell, Mother Hawthorn... It'll all get cleared up in TWP. Sorry I can't elaborate, because I have no idea what could be done about these!

Our main heroes, Dru and Ty and Kit, are going to be so powerful! I'm taking a wild guess when I say that they'll probably have powers extra to what they already have as Shadowhunters, but this is just guessing. No doubt about one thing though, they're going to be the Big Three in TWP.

And then there's Lucifer, the big daddy of demons and all problems in general. In a post that I reblogged, there was a theory that says that Alec survived the Svefnthorn because of Lucifer, and that somehow it would give Lucifer control over Alec.

soz for the late reply i don’t quite understand tumblr But. tbh i also took a while to start tsc for some unknowable reason but when i tell u that it restarted my aftg brainrot with a passion… i literally didn’t really use tumblr before reading tsc but it awakened something in me and made me start Posting and immediately draw renee fan art…

i can’t say that jean doesn’t also have a messed up mind… it’s just a different kind of twisted and honestly it’s super interesting to see how a raven exists outside the nest. like neil went for two (three?) weeks and was so fucked that he kept losing hours of consciousness and was very much Handle With Care physically for a while. even looking at kevin without hearing his perspective you can tell that somethings quite wrong with that boy. so you take someone who experienced the worst of the worst of what the nest & riko had to offer and watch him slowly learn to be a somewhat functioning person just like neil did. throw in the california sun, some lesbians, and the bleach blond guy kevin day himself has a mancrush on and u have one hell of a book

i have literally no idea if Coach Rhenmann canonically has Wymack’s phone #, but i would love to see the messages that got sent throughout TSC.

I think the universe secretly knew I would need a pick me up after work today and that’s why I didn’t see the update email until this morning bc work was hell but what a treat this was!

Andrew’s first question after coming back to himself being “did I let him score?” is so perfectly him. He is committed to never allowing Riko the satisfaction of besting him and I adore him for it. I hope he stays petty forever. Also I’m obsessed with the way everyone’s primary concern when trapped in the Nest is protecting Jean. Like Neil is there for all of a few weeks canonically but once he learns what “you failures are my failures” means he goes out of his way to make sure nothing he does falls back on Jean. And same here with Andrew. He wants to push Riko and antagonize him further but he doesn’t know what the repercussions of that will be and he can’t allow Jean to suffer for his actions so he withholds. Andreil risking it all to protect Jean while not giving a fuck about their own safety and wellbeing. They’re truly made for each other 🙂‍↕️

“But still, he obeys. In the years he was here before Andrew, things must have been bad enough to have him turn out like this.” This is actually one of the reasons I’m most terrified for Kevin’s duology. Having to see Jean through his eyes in the midst of the Nest…If the prequel even half-details all the trauma we learn Jean endured via TSC/TGR I’ll throw up. It takes so much to break a person like him and I feel like we’ve still only scratched the surface of what Jean has endured to survive.

The whole cigarette burning scene killed me. The way Andrew can just so easily dissociate and retreat into his own head now is devastating but yk what’s worse?? The way in the middle of being tortured he makes sure he’s present enough to reassure Jean that he doesn’t blame him. That he knows whatever Riko makes him do isn’t his fault. He has absolutely no regard for his own wellbeing whether it be physical, mental, or emotional but he’ll be damned if he doesn’t do his best to shelter Jean. I am just..so so soft about them. And I’m also definitely not thinking about the fact that the only kindness Andrew feels at the hands of others is when Jean methodically patches him up after every stint of abuse. He gets soft, gentle, kind touches but at what cost??

You know he’s in deep with the codependency when he’s starting to justify the abuse he’s experiencing to himself with “well if I hadn’t signed I wouldn’t have Jean and Jean wouldn’t have me”. I need to logically figure out how to move Jeremy to Palmetto so that Jerejean and Andreil can cohabitate in order for Jeandrew to never be broken up.

Higgins is on my shit list (not really he’s doing an important thing for these kids) but GODDAMN learn to read a room 😩. He just kept going and going and he even said himself he had enough kids to testify without Andrew so calling Andrew literally did nothing but bring up trauma for him and put him in a very very dangerous situation. I’m lowkey losing my mind and ALSO I’ve now had the unfortunate thought of “what if Riko doesn’t use Drake against Andrew and uses him against Aaron instead” and now I’m doubly nauseous 🥳

The psychological torture of the 16 hour day schedule will never not kill me. Like just knowing that Jean was physically trapped in the nest for 5 years but it felt closer to 8 which is practically a decade?? It’s sickening.

The way Riko is already trying to use the phone call against Andrew..oh I’m sick. I’m so sick. At least he’s looking at the wrong man for now but we all know that won’t last. Riko when I catch you Riko…(also not me tearing up at Andrew feeling so safe with Jean that he trusts him to watch his back. They mean EVERYTHING to me your honor)

the way that andrew is holding tight to the few things he can drives me insane. everything else could go wrong but he can't let riko win and riko cares so much about exy and being the best striker so if andrew can hold that over him he will even when he does not care about exy (also. he's just better than him that is a fact i will take no argument here)

protecting jean!!! yes precisely and it's so special to me because here andrew immediately sees him as in need of someone but not in that he is weak just that he is being preyed on and andrew never wants anyone to suffer like that. neil sees jean as someone stuck and even tho jean has to participate in hurting neil (in canon) he knows that jean is not the instigator or the problem he is suffering too

i too am terrified to see even more of how jean became the way he is and the thing is he came into the nest so young but primed by how his parents were to succumb to all of it even quicker like he did not have a fighting chance though kevin was the closest he had to protection but in a twisted way because kevin can't totally protect him the way he deserves and i will die reading his duology

the cigarettes 😭 god that one hurt so bad i need to protect them !!! andrew holds consent so close and jean knows that so in even the worst of situations they have these little exchanges to help both of them get through it. and okay i've thought about this extensively. because andrew knows that telling jean that it's okay means nothing his consent does not mean a single thing here because it's not able to be taken back. if he said no right now nothing would change. BUT he has that trust in jean that after the fact outside of rikos room it does mean something and he will listen and it's !!!!! drives me nuts for a million reasons

jeandrew are at insane levels of codependency rn they rely on each other at all times and a part of that makes andrew uneasy because he's losing control of himself when he dissociates and he barely feels like he is himself or knows who he is and it's unsettling BUT it's jean and he trusts jean because he's an extension of himself and andrew has always been meant to be part of a set. he can't imagine not having jean at this point so anything else comes second. in this chapter andrew mentions that exy is in his top three favorite activities in the nest these are in order -> 1. spending time with jean 2. sneaking outside at night 3. exy. (4. pissing riko off) so anyway! jeandrew are everything to me
