(and that's just to name a couple examples) (ALSO FRAN CARING SO MUCH <333 I LOVE OMG) okokok onto chapter 2

wait oops i got sucked in and forgot to take live notes LOL,, anyways this comment is about the little reactions from Phoenix in regards to Miles' idiosyncracies,, specifically (in regards to MIles' grabbing his bicep) "That old habit. The Phoenix of a year ago would have ached at the sight. Current Phoenix just ached." and "Miles had gotten more expressive with his hands since his time away in Germany. Phoenix thought it suited him." I loved these inclusions so so so so much. it's like, despite everything, phoenix still cares so deeply. Okay hot take but I HATE the latest drawings hima released. The artstyle looks a little too much like those anime drawings attempting to be realistic and it's just uncanny. Hima can draw whatever he wants ofc. Everyone in the comments on posts about them is like "oh they're human now they can be happy!" and it's like. They're fictional, idc if they're happy, I want ME to be happy. And since I like angst and history, that means using the history of the Nations and doing deep dives into the past. Making them just human takes the fun out of Hetalia and the point of the series in general.

I was also exposed to Hetalia when I was in early high school and I'm just now planning to go to school again to focus on history and political science. People can make human AUs all they want, but Hetalia as a way of leading me deeper into history and how people across time interact and tracing it to modern issues is extremely important to me. Your college or coffee shop AUs will always be there, but the original concept as a whole should stay the same. There is endless content to be found by just opening a history book, and as much as I like the Gangstalia arc (mainly b/c everyone is hot lmao) I don't want it to move Hetalia into a more human-centric direction.

I love everything abt April in this movie she’s such a teenager and so am I!!!! She’s so pretty too like have you seen her and that SMILE and her personality!!! I just love everything about her she’s so cool I wanna put her in my pocket and kiss and pat her on the head.

One of the things the art book mentioned was that she wasn’t supposed to be a “kick the door down” female character, they wanted her to be a teenager and I love that they really tried (and succeeded) to capture the teenage aura in the kiddos :)

Coming from a teenage girl, they succeeded in making good teen representation.

OKAY SERIOUSLY THO 😭 I think you just need to explain to him what character complexity it, sora is not a terrible friend but while she did have good intentions, her actions weren't really the best either. sora definitely did not mean for arin to get hurt by that and for their relationship to be strained, but she did know that something like this would happen if he knew (hence this being one of the reasons to why she kept it a secret)

I can see where people are trying to come from when they say they dislike sora after what happened, but summing up what she did as her being 'a terrible friend' is very misunderstanding of her character. sora is literally anything but terrible, but there's also no black and white in this situation, yknow?
