W ostatnich latach strasznie dużo się dzieje na świecie. Strasznie dużo przerażających i tragicznych rzeczy. Nie wiem jakie są powody polityczne tych wszystkich wydarzeń, ale chciałam chociaż trochę przyczynić się do wspierania tych niezwiązanych ludzi dotkniętych i cierpiących przez te wydarzenia…

Oh, well.

Damn. 4 years after, andito ulit ako. The past week, I never had ample sleep to say that I had slept well. Hindi ko rin talaga alam what caused all the sleepless night I had, so I just bear with it in a normal way.

Pero, damn. Hindi rin yata effective. May iba talaga. A night ago, I tweeted about how that night hit different. In-attribute ko siya sa formal na paguumpisa ko ng academic year with DepEd. Hindi ko alam kung kinakabahan ba ako dahil umpisa ng school year (parang first-day jitters), o dahil ba hindi ako handa. Hindi ako makatulog. Mas tama nga yata 'yong statement na away kong matulog. Natulog ako nang 1am the night before the opening of classes. That is something really unusual. It seemed like I dread the day coming.

Well, damn. Ngayon ko na-realize kung bakit ako natatakot matulog noong gabing iyon. Unconsciously, natakot yata ako. Natakot nga yata ako. 'Yong parang maglilipat ka sa bagong tv series na feeling... Coming off a splendid series na sobrang na-attach ka. 'Yong parang 'di ko pa kayang lumipat. Naman kasi, I felt relevant last school year. Surprised rin siguro ako dahil I never wanted to be on a DepEd school before, pero sobrang invested ako last school year. Sa sobrang invested ko, parang 'di ko kayang ilipat sa susunod na chapter ng teaching life ko. Deep inside, gusto ko pa rin 'yong relevant na ako. 'Yong magaling na ako. 'Yong embodiment ng culture na naitatag namin sa ABM, and 'yong culture na I think I am helping shape sa mga taong nakakahalibilo ko. 'Yong Bravery. Oo. 'Yong Bravery nga rin yata.

With all the damns na sinabi ko, damn. Parang mahirap ha. Pero kanina ko lang rin na-realize na kailangan ko nang i-employ 'yong lagi kong sinasabi na may panahon sa bawat pagkakataon. 'We will continue moving forward. And with each coming situation, we do better.' Habang nasa school ako kanina, I think marami talagang nagbago. The faculty room at 'yong mga tao doon, the classroom placement at 'yong mga tao doon, ah basta. Marami. Hindi ko yata matanggap na hindi na ako relevant enough. Pero, nanghihinayang ako sa energy na binubuhos ko sa pagiisip ng 'what was.' Parang wala rin namang nagagawa.

So, damn. Tapos na nga 'yong era na iyon. At ngayon ring moment na ito, na-realize ko na the energy na binubuhos ko sa pagiisip noon ay ie-exert ko sa pagbuo ulit ng bagong kultura. Not in contention with what was last year, pero filling that void satisfies my soul. Selfish ba? Ah, ewan. Meron nang bago. At sa paglipas ng panahon, dapat ko nalang sigurong isipin na ang panahon na ito ay for the people I am with at the present time. I like them. I think I do. Though mayroon agad akong dalawang student na nag-cut ng classes (unreported), I think I can do more. And sana, I get to do more. Nagtanong nga ako kung ilan ang honor students sakanila, isa lang ang nagtaas ng kamay. Nagulat ako, pero natuwa ako. Kasi, dito, I can emphasize more how we can be more of what the world needs ua to be more than the grades that we get. Parang ganon.

Damn. Hindi ko inaasahan na magsusulat ako ng ganito. May nabasa lang akong lengthy post, napagaya na ako. Naging inspiration ko na yata... Ah, basta. I have said so much na. Go nalang sa next part. Next chapter. Until we become.

Where all the time goes

First day of class, walang pinagbago andyan parin yung mga maiingay kong kaklase at mga kaibigan ko, nag enroll si grant at clive sa UA pero nakakalungkot lang na 2nd year sila at hindi nakami magkaklase pero ang good thing namam is same school, so nagkikita nanyan kami araw araw.

Pero nagmamasid ako sa paligid, iniisip ko 3rd year nakame, kinakabahan ako syempre pero iba yung tumatakbo sa isip ko meennn, na mimiss ko yung 1st year nameng magkakaibigan😕, kase ngayon ibang iba na, hindi ko na feel yung iba kong kaibigan kase… well naiintidhan konaman na may kanya kanya ng buhay peroooooo wala lang…may attachment issue lang siguro ako.. na mimiss ko yung lagi kaming magkasama lahat, sabay sabay kumain, yung sobrang dami namen, like mga 12 ata kami kung hindi ako nagkakamali hahahah, pero ngayon mennnn, lima nalang kame? Ays andon naman yung iba, kaklase paden pero di ko talaga feel eh sobrng iba na, na mimiss ko ng sobra yung pagsasamahan naming lahat… janine, justin angelese, therese, grant… yung lahat.

Now. This is the first bad superman film I ever watched in my opinion.

So the story in this movie

It holds up to the first two movies, and then Superman Flies up to the Sky he becomes a famous superhero and all that stuff.

Gus comes to the attention of Webscoe's CEO, Ross Webster.

A billionaire fixated on using technology for financial domination, Webster sees Gus’s skills as a valuable asset. With the help of his stern sister Vera and his mistress Lorelei Ambrosia.

Then Superman extinguishes a fire in a chemical plant, and, as Clark Kent, he returns to Smallville for his high school reunion. Clark reconnects with childhood friend Lana Lang.

Then he joins the Dark Side and then he becomes an Evil Superman.

After surviving exploding rockets and a missile, he confronts Webster, Vera, and Lorelei in the "Ultimate Computer". The computer becomes self-aware, and defends itself against attempts to disable it as it transforms Vera into a cyborg. Vera attacks Webster and Lorelei with energy beams that immobilize them. Superman retrieves acid from the chemical plant, destroying the Ultimate Computer.

Shoes and Scents

If I remember correctly, parang di pa naman ako nakapag-blog about shoes. Although feeling ko na-mention ko na before, at least hindi pa yung collection ko about shoes.

You see, I’m on this habit of collecting stuff nowadays may be it phone cases, shoes, watches, caps, and perfumes. I’m at this stage na may capability naman ako to build my own endgame (na within the budget) and stick to it para di na ako ma-tempt to purchase more and to really do research before purchasing. Ang downside lang na nakikita ko is how incomplete it feels when kulang pa yung collection ko. For example - di naman ako lagi nagpopomade or wax. But since marami ako at hand, I feel obliged to use one kahit nasa bahay lang naman ako. Not that it’s bad pero yung tipong nagiba ka ng habit mo to justify your purchases may really mean na you’re into something.

Pero ang topic for today is shoes and scents. Shoes kasi from the first 6 shoe display boxes, naging 8 na siya kasi kaya naman talaga magkasya ng 8. While sobra-sobra na ako sa purchase ko sa shoes, I was still able to complete it through budols from both Cop Garden and FB Marketplace as well as a gift from my mom nung nanggaling sila ni daddy sa Japan.

To re-iterate yung pagka-OC ko, I wanted them to be unique in style and in what color they represent. My 8 shoes are:

1. Converse x Essentials - I got this from a FB group nung time nung pandemic. I got lucky kasi maliban sa expensive and limited itong pair na ito, hindi nirelease sa Philippines yung sizing ko. As the seller mentioned, he got this abroad pero I forgot why pero I bought this unused and through careful research, I came to know na this is authentic naman. My only high-cut sneakers and this is in cream-and-black.

2. Vans x Nikko Pelaez - this is a collaboration with a Filipino artist. I bought this from a FB reseller page na ngayon and inactive na. Pairs are limited so like yung Converse, I got lucky to have this. This is a slip-on and my only gum-sole. This is in white with black accents.

3. Under Armour Slipspeed - I got disappointed nung I decided to let go of my HOVR pair na nakuha ko sa Zalora. Not sure why I got so much extra budget during this time pero kasabay lang halos nun yung first 2 dito. Anyway, I bought yung HOVR Sashiko from Zalora and I got one size down as per reviews online. I was supposed to get true-to-size pero walang available sa Zalora and matagal ko ng inaabangan yung pair so I went ahead only to realize na it’s too tight for me. Lesson learned - never go one size down without first trying it on. Purchased Slipspeed last year from the UA’s holiday sale in its site. This has purple accents on a white base. This is convertible to have its heel removed for a more comfy wear. It uses a BOA-fit system instead of laces and its purpose is for training due to its non-slip outsole.

4. Skechers D’Lites x One Piece - the only second-hand shoes that I have kept. Meron kasi na Adidas UB na GOT ako pero I sold it na kasi like my first UA, it was tight. Dito naman, di naman sa wala akong options - it’s more like a half-cm shorter pero I thought it was okay kasi my previous NMD na super-comfy was an inch shorter. It turns out, makapal padding nitong UB inside kaya ang sikip tuloy sa feeling. This Skechers is obviously used na kasi faded na yung print inside and may signs of usage na. Usable siya and subtle lang naman yung issues kaya OK lang. I once thought of selling this kasi hindi siya comfy on long walks pero nung inisip ko na miski naman yung Vans and Converse ko, not for long walks din, I decided to keep it. Ika nga, gamitin lang siya if known na saglit lang naman sa labas or matagal pero hindi maraming lakaran ang involved. This is a bulky shoe and I’ll use it when I need one with yellow accents.

5. The Hundred Percent x Unbox Con - this is a collab-shoe as well with Unbox PH or the company that is owned at least partially in my knowledge by Carlo Ople. It has orange all over it and its silhouette is based from the Air Jordan 1. This is a half-cm bigger kasi they only sell fixed sizes na 7, 8, etc. eh true-to-size ko is 7.5. Luckily, it fits well naman. It’s comfy for a local brand pero I still wouldn’t recommend this for long walks especially kung ayaw mong lumaki yung crease up front.

6. On Cloud CloudMonster Hyper - my most expensive shoes clocking in at almost 10k. In fact, kung dito yan binenta with the import taxes and all, it may go beyond 10k talaga. Luckily, this is bought from Japan kaya may tourist discount pa. This is gray and is really great for running. This is the only shoes that I still have that is a gift from mom. I gave my Nike AF1 kay Nico kasi I grew tired from the design and it was the first time I owned an half-cm longer. Since it was used very often, it built a big crease and sa pagka-OC ko, it’s a no-no for me. Yung Adidas Cloudfoam ko naman from HK is still up for grabs. I think the fit is just right pero yung feel is too comfortable na it’s bothering na. I also grew a bit tired na din with the design.

7. New Balance - I always forgot about the model # kasi di talaga ako makabisa with numbers pero I bought this sa HK since I forgot to bring my boat shoes for our small prenup shoot. Cons ng pagmamadali. This is the only shoe that I bought from outside of PH and the only shoe as well na I still have na half-cm or at least a cm down pero still comfortable. That’s why they like NB pala - ang comfy kasi talaga. There’s a lot of suede in this brown sneakers kaya siya yung may pang-absorb ng moist sa loon ng shoe display.

8. Adidas x Prada - replacement nung UB. I bought this from Cop Garden - a known store here in PH that often sells secondhand sneakers na hindi rape yung price. Unlike yung iba na talagang iiwasan mo na kasi alam mo na bibili ka lang talaga dun kung gusto mo yung sneakers and not because you’ll have a great deal. This is mostly white with red accents and while nag-yellow siya after just a few wears (cons ng white na plastic), I still choose to keep it not only because it’s a Prada collab, but because it’s very comfy since it’s very breathable. If I’m not mistaken, sailing shoes daw tawag dito.

That’s it for sneakers. If anything, baka i-store away ko lang yung Converse ko somewhere elss kasi siya lang yung nagiisang high-cut then I’ll buy a Nike Huarache from Nike by You. I still need sneakers with either pink or green accents pero I might go for green. They say Huarache is comfy and I would want one na customized for me. Tsaka na siguro pag may extra budget. Probably next-next year the earliest.

Sa scents, nothing too special. I got one na sobrang tapang pero mabango. It’s an official imitation. Panis, official pero imitation. I also have one from Lush na super fresh and bango. Too bad it’s a body spray kaya it doesn’t last long. May cologne ako na pang-bahay lang and I still have my Versace from HK. Ito yung magkapares kami ni Laira and this is the only luxury perfume that I have na authentic.
