     ‘it’s not like i have the time to think about a kitten... who else would take care of it temporarily anyway?’ a kitten with an injured leg, without basic first-aid, it wasn’t possible for the kitten to make a quick recovery if the injury was left unattended. wrapping the kitten’s injury with a part of the left-hand sleeve’s clothing he had torn, the bleeding ceased. what’s the right step to disinfect the wound anyway? this kitten was merely just, resting weakly on his lap right now, where the hell did its mother go?

It had only been a light sprinkle, hardly enough to truly call rainfall at first. But the thrum of water against his hood grew louder until it could compete with the cadence of his horse’s gallop. Being wet was less of a problem than the mud it created and slick roads that slowed their return to camp. At least the same problems would bog down the enemy soldiers.  

Leo had fully expected to be alone when he ducked back in from the stables. The hour was too late for anyone but the watch to be out. He certainly didn’t expect to find a kettle over the fire or the deep earthy aromas that filled the dining hall. Who was still awake? 

The surprise carves deep enough to flicker across his expression when a cup is passed his way. “Thank you.” Normally coffee not his drink of choice, but given the late hour and the report he still needed to prepare by morning, it was a truly welcome sight. 

“True though that may be, why go to the effort to prepare an extra cup?” She had no obligation to him, they were both simply soldiers in Corrin’s army. He couldn’t quite understand why she had done so for his sake. Leo pulls the rest of his hood down and shakes some of the water bead from his hair. 

“Were you out in the rain as well?”

“I should’ve figured you’d be all over this holiday.” Yuri smirks, hand placed on his hips as he looks at the other. “Hah, you’re in a good mood too.”

Chrom looked to the side when he felt someone tapping his shoulder but there was no one. Was he mistaken? He looked around but no one was beside him. Weird. Perhaps he was imagining things. “Strange...Maybe a grass leaf is inside of my shirt like last time...” he shrugged it off.

     a ring on the door, that must be her. his home was nothing to be boastful about. a traditional japanese interior design, eight-tatami single room apartment, living room, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, and other necessary rooms in a normal person’s daily routine. once he opened his home’s front door, the first view behind that opened door was the reveal of a normal entryway connected to various rooms, with the first left room as the living room to greet any incoming guests. 

     ‘a-ah, welcome.’ there’s rentaro who’s still in his school’s uniform clothing, without the black suit that donned him. it’s the first time a girl around his age entered his home aside from his childhood friend, he would be lying if he said he wasn’t nervous. ‘apparently enju was going to have a stayover at her friend’s house to watch tenchu girls tonight. so she wouldn’t be having dinner here. did you bring the cooking ingredients and the cat food?’

He worried easily about the others in the army, as war was not an easy thing to go through so he was often allowing others to tell their sorrows to him if they so wished. Though that was other times, right now he has his focus on mizuki ! He wasn’t sure how the other felt about him ... they were both from two different nations but he never had the same loyalty to nohr that others did, he just so happened to be from there but he never treated anyone different because of their homelands
