Out this week: The Umbrella Academy: Plan B #1 (Dark Horse Comics, $4.99): 

Fans of The Umbrella Academy show on Netflix saw the Sparrows, an alternate reality version of the Umbrella Academy, take flight in season three. Now the concept makes its way to the comics, as Gerard Way and Gabriel Ba present their take on the group. They have a different origin story than their TV counterparts, which should prove interesting.

also REEEEALLY telling that all of the sparrows refer to each other by number, not name. Carla is confirmed to have a name (and is presumably number 3?) but the others don't use them when talking to each other, neither as children nor adults with Reginald dead. makes me wonder if the show has their planned names, or if we're doing something entirely different. also interesting is them referring to Mom/Grace as "The Caregiver". makes me think that they were very much the wire mother kids to the cloth mother umbrellas

Dark Horse has announced the next story in The Umbrella Academy comic book series. The Umbrella Academy: Plan B, from writers Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá, artist Bá, colorist Dave Stewart, and letterer Nate Piekos, take place directly after the events of The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion.
