2025年7月11日、連れはお友達と梅田の東寶でランチ。

I sketched some of the statues I encountered in Japan when I came back from my trip, they were all incredibly beautiful <3

I was very interested in the stories behind them, they all looked so ancient and mysterious, with moss that has already started to spread and cover them. They looked as if they were already a part of the nature surrounding them.

So I started researching, after lots of browsings through various websites, translating and comparing the findings back and forth from Japanese, these are the results that led to my little research project :)

The first one, is of a stone statue, hidden and peaking through the plants at a vegetable garden, in Osaka.

I came across him by chance, he looked so special, hidden away and peaking through the leaves of the vegetation that grew wildly around him, threatening to engulf him.

The garden he's in was modeled after the Satoyama style, which represents the ideal of coexistence between humans and nature. This statue is a part of a series featuring 34 sculptures that were incorporated into the scenery of Shin Umeda City :)

1/28 to-fu君（https://withphotograph.com）と5万年ぶりにお初天神通りで飲む。スナップ時代に昼から週４ぐらいで通っていた懐かしい飲み屋とか。今は巨樹巡りに没頭しているらしい。大きな通りというよりも、枝分かれして選択肢の多い道を進んだり逸れたりしながら上手く世を生きていると思う。 もうすでに撮る人の写真の表層が云々ではなく、その人の写真が継続的に存在している、ということ自体がとても重要な要素のひとつであろう。
