Talk to me about You Love it When I Fall Apart that sounds like it is going to be so, so, so painful I can't wait!!
hahaha this is the fake out barge party one I shared snippets of for secret Santa! I’ll give you a few excerpts:
“Then tell me to leave you alone. Tell me to go away and I will.”
“Go..” she started, but her eyes focused on his lips then, hesitant.
“Tell me you don’t think of me. Don’t miss me.” He stepped closer, and their chests brushed. “Tell me you don’t want me the way I want you.”
“Get off me,” she snarled, and then he was plunging backward, too surprised to flare his wings outward before the bay swallowed him whole.
and
Too drunk to feel embarrassed, Nesta relished where his cool hand brushed her neck as he held back her unraveled hair.
“Eugh. Thank you.” She swished some water around her mouth from the glass on the side table, spat it out the window. “Now get out of my apartment.”
“Fuck no. I’m not waking up to find out your wobbly ass cracked your head on the sink.”
“I’d’ve thought you’d be delighted. No longer have to be shackled to me.”
“What? No.”
and
“Fuck, Nes, this is a bad idea.”
“Is this not what you’re here for? Willing victim to my ruse?”
Alcohol was pickling his thoughts, and in combination with the insane softness of her lips chasing his, Cassian could barely form a sentence.
“I want.. I don’t want.. I’d like to remember it.”

Women were also regularly employed in brewing, at least as much as men. Medieval peasants drank rather a lot of small (or low-alcohol) beer and ale. In the tenth-century Alfric's Colloguy, which records theoretical dialogues between a teacher and his students, one young man states, "I drink ale, usually, if I drink at all, and water if I have no ale. . . . I am not rich enough to be able to buy myself wine: Wine is not a drink for boys or fools but for old men and wise men." By the late medieval period, in brewing centers such as České Budejovice, from whence the name Budweiser comes, beer was being made on a large enough scale that it was being exported to Bavaria.
Medieval people desired to drink beer and ale not because water was unsafe, but because farmwork is extremely hard. Small beer and ale added additional calories to their daily uptake in an enjoyable way. Although the wealthy were probably able to procure professionally made and imported beers, most people, especially in the earlier medieval period, made their own ale or bought it from nearby producers. Ale was brewed primarily from barley and did not include the hops of beer, which meant it could not be stored for long before going off. As such, those who wanted ale had to be constantly brewing it to ensure a steady supply, making brewing a very common cottage industry. Women who brewed for their families would often brew excess for sale, allowing them to bring in a bit of money. Because brewing was a craft that could be learned at home, women could be employed as brewers in larger commercial breweries.
We find women in the brewing trade consistently: records show them paying taxes on their gains from brewing, and registering with the authorities who oversaw standards. When someone performed below these standards, they were frequently written up, so we can find the women who were not meeting them. The Durham Court Rolls from 1365 record that Agnes Postell and Alice de Belasis were fined twelve denarii for selling bad ale, about the equivalent of two days' work for a skilled craftsman. Similarly Alice de Belasis was separately fined two shillings, or the equivalent of five days wages, for poor-quality ale, which a court proved had no strength at all. Punishments for brewing bad ale could range from fines to ritualized humiliation. In England, the Domesday Book first recorded the use of the cucking stool (which would become the ducking stool in the early modern period) in Chester to punish those who sold bad ale or ale in incorrect measures. They would be forced to sit in a chair out side their home and be jeered at by locals. Fourteenth-century Scottish laws noted that any alewife who made "evil ale" was either fined "eight shillings" or placed in the cucking stool, a nod to women as the primary brewers in the region who could face the largely gendered humiliation as a result.
We also learn of women in the brewing profession through records of accidents. For example, one coroner's roll indicates that at around noon on October 2, 1270, Amice Belamy was carrying a tub full of gruit, an agent for flavoring ale, with Sibyl Bonchevaler at her work in Lady Juliana de Beauchamp's brewhouse in Staple, Eaton Socon. As they went to dump the gruit into the boiling vat of beer, Amice slipped and fell into it and was trapped by the tub that fell on top of her. "Sibyl immediately jumped towards her, dragged her from the vat and shouted; the household came and found her scalded almost to death. She was given the last rites of the church and died on the day following. This harrowing story reminds us what a physically tasking and dangerous job brewing, especially in large quantities, could be.
This episode is also interesting because the two women were working for another woman, and a lady at that, Juliana de Beauchamp. Brewing was commonly associated with women across class lines, since the brewhouse is listed as belonging to the Lady Juliana. All in all, during these years a woman was just as likely to be brewing ale as a man, if not more likely in some instances.

What do you think about people comparing catra to Caitlyn from arcane
ah, i had a feeling i'd be asked about something along these lines.
okay, so, just to get this out of the way:
i'm aware that Arcane s2 has very polarizing opinions, points of views, and thoughts from the community, and, provided it's nothing extreme, they're all valid. though my words are largely subjective, i want to apply as much objectivity as possible to create a better picture, rather than complete bias with no desire for discussion.
s2, in my opinion, wasn't as well-written as it could've been. i don't hate it, but i would've made different writing choices for the characters, their arcs, etc., and i feel the ending was lackluster as a result of lack of closure. this includes Jinx's own ending, Isha, Vi's cycle of self-destruct and complicated family, and how i feel there was not enough screentime for the plots and characters given, especially Ekko, Mel, Kino, and Ambessa. and i do feel like the writing choices negatively affected Caitlyn's character, as well, even if i do understand and sympathize with her as a person.
objectively speaking, Caitlyn's dictatorship ( i believe that's what it is, iirc ) was more on-screen than Catra's, but Catra's crimes was heavier, quantity wise, including universal genocide.
because of SPOP's disregard for "show, don't tell", amongst several other factors ( Catra being a creator's pet being the main one ), there is little to no actual weight to her actions, even with the main cast. if there is consequences, it's either more personal than it should be, her mental breakdowns or Horde Prime chipping her, or fleeting, the destruction of Salineas. this is likely why people don't care much for Catra's actions, because there's no legitimate consequences that aren't just her being sad // distressed.
but, while not the best, Arcane writers take into consideration the impact of and to the people. Caitlyn's decisions did have consequences, and it affected more than just her. it changed Zaun, and with Silco and Jinx's absence, the people were anxious and needing a beacon in order to feel safe and empowered.
however, i don't think it's as simple as comparing Caitlyn to Catra.
in the eyes of the people, it wouldn't matter, obviously. as a result of taking her grief and thirst for vengeance out on them, the people of Zaun felt even more unsafe when they were already suffering.
but to us, as the audience, we can empathize with grief blinding us and leading us to making poor decisions that end up being detrimental to our and everyone else's health. keyword: empathize.
Caitlyn still hurt people. there is no denying that. i am simply saying that we can understand where she was coming from and that her grief was taken advantage of by Ambessa.
to their world, it's black and white. people suffer and // or die at the hands of someone in power.
to us, it's more or less than that.
still wanting to remain as objective i can be, i will say Caitlyn's are far easier to remember and hold against her, and rightfully so. but i believe that Catra's are worse and should've been displayed as worse, rather than stated or turned around to be a way for us to feel bad for her own downfalls.
now, let's move onto Caitlyn and Vi // Catra and Adora.
like with the season, i prefer s1 CaitVi over s2.
for me, the divide and conflict felt too similar to how their relationship originally started out and was too repetitive. it felt like the writers wanted another reason for them to break apart, when there was a lot of time spent to them forming together.
but i think CaitVi has more room to grow than C // A ever really did.
for one, Caitlyn and Vi have cared for each other more than they've hurt each other. even when they were at odds in s1, there was no point in the story where they left one or the other to die. if something bad happened, it was by circumstance, not by choice.
but Catra had always hurt Adora more than she cared for her. from physically harming her to degrading her, engaging in extreme sadism, and nearly killing her, purposefully, on multiple occasions, there's no actual evidence that Catra deeply cares for Adora, or that she cared to begin with.
for another, Caitlyn had more reason than Catra. Catra was given multiple chances to make better choices, but she never did and it was intentional and out of spite.
what was Caitlyn going to do with the fact her mother was killed, that her girlfriend's sister was the murderer, and that her girlfriend stopped her from doing from killing the culprit because she thought she'd kill a kid instead?
of course, it was highly likely that she would've killed Isha. again, blinded by grief. but Caitlyn didn't think that way. in her mind, she has more evidence of being an excellent shot than not, so, obviously, the possibility of her killing the child was 0, right?
( and i don't think Caitlyn cheated on Vi with Maddie. i read the end of their argument as a break-up, especially because Vi disappeared. )
and, for one last thing, even when she knew Vi didn't trust her and kept fighting with her, Caitlyn still tried to help.
overall, i think CaitVi did have a... meh(?) ending, but i still prefer them over C // A. if nothing else, for the foundation.
i don't think Caitlyn and Catra are the same. i just think the Arcane writers had more respect for their audience than SPOP did.

Do ogres use seasoning or have, like, a palate? Or is it just meat. Go in face hole in large quantities
They both use seasonings and have palates. The issue is that Ogres can digest basically any kind of meat in any state, they're always some degree of extremely hungry, and they come from a pragmatic culture.
Use humans as an example. We have different food preferences and different seasoning preferences, but if we're hungry enough, we'll just throw something quick together or slam back cheese slices or whatever. Imagine that situation, but functionally permanent and there are no consequences for eating weird/unsafe things.
If you NEED to eat something NOW and you can eat everything at hand, certain aspects of culinary preference are going to take a back seat.

BANGKOK (AP) — Thai officials on Wednesday said they seized 238 tons of illegally imported electronic waste from the United States at the port of Bangkok, one of the biggest lots they've found this year.
The waste, which came in 10 large containers, was declared as mixed metal scrap but turned out to be circuit boards mixed in a huge pile of metal scrap, said Theeraj Athanavanich, director-general of the Customs Department.
The waste was found on Tuesday after the containers became the subject of a routine random inspection, officials said.
A U.N. report last year said electronic waste is piling up worldwide. Some 62 million tons of electronic waste was generated in 2022 and that figure is on track to reach 82 million tons by 2030, the report said. It said only 22% of the waste was properly collected and recycled in 2022 and that quantity is expected to fall to 20% by the end of the decade due to higher consumption, limited repair options, shorter product life cycles, and inadequate management infrastructure.
Theeraj said Thai authorities are looking to press charges including falsely declaring imported goods, illegally importing electronic waste and planning to re-export the waste back to its country of origin.
“It’s important that we take action on this kind of goods,” he said. “There are environmental impacts that are dangerous to the people, especially communities around factories that might import these things for processing, then recycling.”
Electronic waste creates huge health hazards. Many components are laden with lead and mercury, cadmium and other toxins. Recyclers are after gold, silver, palladium and copper, mainly from printed circuit boards, but lax controls mean that facilities often burn plastics to release encased copper and use unsafe methods to extract precious metals.
Thailand passed a ban on the import of a range of electronic waste products in 2020. The Cabinet in February approved an expanded list of the banned waste.
Sunthron Kewsawang, deputy director-general of the Department of Industrial Works, said officials suspected at least two factories in Samut Sakhon province, which borders Bangkok, are involved in importing the waste.
In January, the Customs Department said it seized 256 tons of illegally imported electronic waste from Japan and Hong Kong at a port in eastern Thailand.

marine aliens again
I was thinking up some world beholding things for my aliens again, mainly the manatee based one but some aspects could work for the rest unless I get a different idea later
More information about the doodles below if you’re interested, like a lot of info lol.
Top left corner: I was thinking how they manatees may depict themselves or simplify their image and I ended up with these little idols! They would most commonly be carved from drift woods or stone in common use such as toys, decor, art, etc. with the exception of larger more intricate idols used for offerings, statues or alters with the swirls on them showing areas of importance or strength
Left middle: manatee patterns tend towards rounded shapes, circles and wiggly lines as it reminds them or various shapes of water, stones, swaying plants in the currents and so on. This also carries over into their food prep in some ways, such as the small rounded shapes of stuffed knotted plants for common meals while the larger ‘leaf’ patterns are used in mass storage of stable plants such as kelps and seaweeds.
Bottom left: a manatee tapestry idea depicting a matron, made from various fibers of marine plants. Culture wise weaving, macrame, and other various similar crafts are import to them since they view the actions as essential to their lifestyles for fabrics of various uses like clothing and bedding as well as being able to properly store large quantities of staple foods.
Top right: the common ‘bowl’ types for under water dining, left one is for ‘sinking’ foods that you don’t have to worry about floating away from the table while downturn right ‘bowl’ is for such foods that you would expect to float away. The downturn ‘bowels’ can also come in clear glass varieties depending on location to allow the person to see what they’re getting, larger restaurants normally have this option.
Right middle: common utensils for underwater dining, hooked is mainly for meats or scooping things out of shells/exoskeletons. The two pronged utensil is used for mostly plant based foods or large pieces of a meal. Spoons or ‘tailed’ utensils are for meals with many small pieces that are stuck together which isn’t a common occurrence outside of things like caviar or mushed foods to help a calf struggling to adjust to solid foods after being weened off of milk. Gripped tongs are used for live food that would be unsafe to eat if it wear dead, similar to lobster being unsafe when it’s not fresh but manatees just decide to eat those types of critters live (young calf’s who haven’t had live meals yet will often dare each other to do so while hanging out)
Right bottom: shown here is the dining table preferred by manatees with anchor bars to hold the meal bowls securely, normally with multiple anchors for each person wether it’s for mixed meals or the average meal which compared to a humans (2-3% of their weight) to a manatees (15-20% of their weight) is a lot of food or at the very least calorie rich. The middle groove serves as an arm rest as well as safe spot for each persons utensils to be stored, sanitary items to clean up before and after meals.
Finally on the bottom are ports that have retractable fresh water taps to drink with meals that typically connects to a water tank below the table that’s connected to a large tank of clean salt water that is processed into fresh as needed. Each tap has a twistable ring around the nozzle to stop the one way water flow to help avoid drinking the salt water in the room as well as to prevent waste of fresh water.

╰┈➤✮ Under the Cut
Deok-Su found himself hastily dragged through the inside of the apartment on the basement floor into a make-shift clinic– extraordinarily not sterile, he thought. Hey, he mused humorously, maybe it only looks dirtier through the waterfall of blood in my eyes?
Unknown quantities of his hot red liquid flooded his vision, and it was all he could do to stumble along where his underling led him.
“Where’s the fucking doctor!? Boss is bleeding bad!”
The voices of his fellow gang members faded in and out between the deafening beating of his own heart in his ears. He’d heard of the doctor in passing, some man who had enough medical experience that his organization was willing to pay for his services.
His body collapsed. At first, he assumed he had fallen to the floor, but the cold steel told him he had been led to a table. His hearing was all he could rely on with his loss of vision, the realization settling in that he had no idea what was going to happen to him.
“He’s losing too much blood, start applying pressure…” A new voice– the doctor’s, Deok-Su assumed through the process of elimination. There was a warm cloth against his eyes, and he squeezed his eyelids shut.
When he opened them again, large blobs of darkness swam in his vision. There was a flash of a man’s face, pushing small round glasses up his nose with a shaky finger. Then, nothing at all.
It was like waking from a dream within a dream, unsure if the world around him was truly reality, or a figment of his bruised mind. An unsettling sense of vulnerability made his nerves stand on end. Questions over where he was, how long he’d been there, and whether or not he was alone swam through his head, demanding answers.
The sound of footsteps down the hall made him throw his legs over the side of the table; in the light of day he could see it was a clinical examination table. The cold air on his exposed backside drew his attention to his attire, which was a pair of traditional patient scrubs. Shooting pain through his ribs distracted him from examining further as he doubled over.
“I’d refrain from standing up right now.”
Deok-Su hadn’t learned his lesson the first time apparently, because he whipped his head around and winced from the angry pain all over his body. “Fuck…” he muttered harshly.
The man looked about the same age as him, and only a little bit shorter. He definitely came across like a doctor to Deok-Su– stiff, and kinda dorky. It was that man he’d seen just before he passed out, he realized, the one with the circle glasses.
Deok-Su laid back on the examination table. His aching back could easily be attributed to the serious beating he’d taken, but he thought passing out on this rock hard surface for an undetermined number of hours was a serious contender, too.
The doctor washed his hands, working a pair of latex gloves up to his wrists. If he was such a proper professional, why was he in a place like this?
“Who’re you?” Deok-Su asked, eyes fixed on him from his perspective on the table.
The doctor approached his side, maintaining neutral eye contact. “Sit up,” he instructed, kindly yet coldly. Deok-Su felt his supportive hand aiding him up, suppressing the pained groan in his throat. “You came in quite injured. The blow to your head shouldn’t have done any brain damage, but you bled quite heavily. I gave you some stitches, just don’t touch it.” Firm fingers examined down his spine to his lower back, the doctor inquiring whether or not each location hurt as he went.
“How long have I been out?” Deok-Su asked, arm bent with his hand resting on his knee. At the height of each inhale he dug his fingers into his skin, pain emanating in his midsection.
The doctor straightened him up, laying a flat hand on his chest to fix his posture. “Sixteen hours. Your ribs were heavily bruised, but not broken. Just take it easy.” He pushed Deok-Su onto his back, hands traveling down his sides a little too quickly for Deok-Su’s comfort. He’s just gotta examine my injuries, it’s fine…
“You got stabbed below the hip,” he said, two fingers grazing over the wound and resting on the space below it. “Right here. You got stitches- you might have trouble walking for a day or two.”
The doctor pulled away, slipping off his gloves with a soft snap of latex against latex. Deok-Su watched him expertly work in the room, snatching a black notebook and scribbling something down. “You’re hooked up to a little morphine, one of your men already paid the quota.” He didn’t even look at him as he jabbed his pen in a specific direction. “There’s a real bed right over there. Just lay down, and don’t mess with the morphine drip.” He snapped the notebook shut, eyes meeting Deok-Su’s once more.
Deok-Su was only slightly in awe of the other man’s expertise, his depth of knowledge and ease with his practice undeniably alluring. He’s got to be a fucking quack, Deok-Su thought. Otherwise he’d be a hot shot surgeon, he’s definitely just another piece of shit criminal.
“Get plenty of rest. I’ll be back later.” He gave Deok-Su a tight, forced smile, and whisked himself out of the room before he could say anything. Not that there was really anything for Deok-Su to say, anyways.
Eager to feel the soft comfort of a real mattress pad, Deok-Su used his morphine drip stand as a cane to move himself onto the bed. With a heavy sigh he melted into the thin sheets and cheap pillows. No, it wasn’t the most luxurious resting spot, but it was a welcome change from where he’d just been sleeping.
That doctor… he hadn’t told him his name, leaving Deok-Su unsure of what to call him. Words like pompous and nerd came to mind, then contrarily, attractive, handsome, striking… His fingers hovered over the spot beneath the wound, where the doctor had pressed down so firmly… did it really need to be that firm? Deok-Su quickly dismissed the idea that it might have been a pass at him, chalking it up to the effects of his mild head trauma.
Dismissing the thought did little for his growing hard-on. It was probably just the morphine putting him in an unusual state of mind, there was absolutely no way he was turned on by this shitty pretend doctor’s office.
He shut his eyes, praying the morphine would lull him into a dreamless sleep.
Deok-Su wasn’t one to sit on his ass and coddle himself when he got injured. A day and a half after he’d woken up in the basement clinic he deemed himself ready to discharge. Even his short time out of commission felt too long, lest his men think of him as weak.
“Just don’t get into another fight,” the doctor chided. “If you’re not going to rest, just make sure you don’t get stabbed again, alright? I’m not sure if your body could take it…” The doctor tossed the black notebook onto a nearby counter after jotting down whatever it is he deemed necessary. Deok-Su wanted to say, Not sure my body could take it? Stop talking like that. But he’d already established with himself these double meanings were not truly intended at all, and he was just pathetically horny.
Deok-Su scoffed, arms folded over his chest as he leaned against the opposite wall. “I’d rather get stabbed again then spend another day in these stupid fucking scrubs,” he complained. “The last time my ass was bare this much, I was an infant.”
The doctor stifled a chuckle, a semi frequent occurrence in his stay there. It filled him with a sense of accomplishment to bring the other man to laughter, especially considering his serious exterior. “Well, it gives me easy access for any emergencies,” he chided. After a brief pause, he added hastily, “to your injuries, of course.”
Deok-Su raised an eyebrow, squinting his eyes. There truly was no reason to even add that last part. “What other emergencies are there?” He asked. ‘Easy access for any emergencies’. Deok-Su assumed it was just from being a gross, sex obsessed adult man that the phrase easy access seemed kinda horny to him. But the doctor had also tried to cover his usage up–defending it!
The doctor rolled his eyes, but the flush on his cheeks gave him away.
It only encouraged Deok-Su, laughing as he enraged the doctor further. “What, you pervert, a penis emergency?” It sounded like locker room talk, reminding him when he was an adolescent at the start of puberty.
The doctor stiffened, deep offense from the accusation evident on his face. “Maybe I was wrong about the brain damage,” he replied flatly. “And if you hate the scrubs so much, your clothes are just over here. Might as well change into them if you’re leaving now.”
Deok-Su pushed off the wall, sauntering towards the doctor. He was only a little taller than him, but it still gave him a sense of authority over the other man that just excited him. “You really thinking about how easily you can get your patients? You’re a real creepy doctor…” He baited, breaking away his gaze as he walked to his neatly folded clothes. The doctor must have washed them and prepared them for him… strangely thoughtful.
“You’re the faggot going on and on about getting fucked in his patient’s gown.”
Deok-Su swiveled around, shock and anger boiling together in his chest. “What did you just fucking call me?” He demanded, hands balling into trembling fists.
Surprisingly, the doctor didn’t back down. With squared shoulders he quickly advanced, a strong hand shooting up to hold Deok-Su’s throat. Deok-Su’s fingers entangled into his hair in kind, both men grabbing one another in their strained fight. “You’re the creepy fucking fag doctor talking about easy access,” Deok-Su choked out.
A furious growl came from the doctor’s throat, teeth clenched hard together. “Without me you would have died, but you’re just some fucking asshole pervert,” the doctor retorted. He delivered a swift punch to Deok-Su’s ribs, making him double over in pain, releasing his grip on his hair. “Get the fuck out of my clinic, and don’t fucking come back.”
Deok-Su let out a low whine, still burning with fury. Despite his better judgment, he leapt forward—a decision he quickly realized was incredibly stupid.
The doctor shoved him against the wall, cold scalpel pressed to Deok-Su’s throat. “What the fuck is wrong with you?” The doctor demanded, his voice shaking; with malice or fear, Deok-Su couldn’t tell. He swallowed, cursing himself for not just walking away. Why hadn’t he taken the out?
The beginning of a growing ache answered his internal question. Fuck, not here, not right now. What a completely inopportune time to get a boner- but he just couldn’t deny, the doctor’s whole thing really did it for him.
He wasn’t so lucky as for his erection to go unnoticed, and the doctor was soon staring down at the tent in his patient scrubs, scalpel still against his neck. The tone of the situation shifted, and where genuine harm as a concern was replaced by something… different. “Oh?” The doctor asked, almost a squeak. “What’s this…?” He removed the scalpel from his throat, running the edge of the blade just against the fabric of his scrubs towards his hips.
The doctor smiled, shaking his head. “Is this why you were so antagonistic? Acting out to get what you wanted?” It made the doctor laugh, and Deok-Su just clenched his jaw. God, he loved where this was going, but it embarrassed him just how much he relished in the submissive role. The doctor’s smile dropped as the silence continued. “Answer me.”
“Yeah, fuck, okay. I wanted to know what you meant when you said that shit– not like you’re innocent, either,” he said defensively. His tough demeanor started to crumble when the doctor pressed his thigh against the tent in his scrubs, letting the scalpel clatter to the floor. Deok-Su inhaled, eyebrows furrowing. “Fuck, doc…” he moaned.
“Byeong-gi. My name is Byeong-gi.” Byeong-gi pushed his thigh harder, rubbing it up and down with sick satisfaction. “Learn it, you’ll probably be moaning it during our next exam.”
Deok-Su stared at him, panting heavily as his erection grew more and more severe. “Exam?” He asked.
Byeong-gi smirked, a dark look in his eyes. “I can tell you’re one of those perverts who gets hard at the doctor,” he remarked. “I could fucking hear you jacking yourself off after every exam, you couldn’t fucking help it.”
Deok-Su sighed, muttering curses under his breath. Byeong-gi was right– but it wasn’t entirely his fault! Sleeping on and off in a boring, empty clinic with nothing but his thoughts gave him no other option.
He let Byeong-gi push him up into the examination table, hands gripping the edge. He could feel the cold air on his ass, the sides of his scrubs delicately falling to the side like paper.
“Before I discharge you, I have to make sure everything is in order.” Deok-Su could hear the snap of the gloves on his wrists. The doctor’s warm body came up behind him, Byeong-gi’s own newborn erection pressed against Deok-Su’s asschecks, earning a low gasp. “After all… what kind of doctor would I be, neglecting to do a thorough exam?” He rubbed his gloved hand on the back of Deok-Su’s exposed thigh, sending delighted shivers all over his body.
“Just hurry the fuck up,” Deok-Su grumbled. He wasn’t expecting the doctor to respond with a hard squeeze, almost a pinch, grinding his hips into Deok-Su’s ass.
“I’m sorry, where did you go to medical school? What education do you have? Do you really want to know what it’s like when a medical professional skips procedure?” He asked, grinding his clothed erection so hard in between Deok-Su’s asscheeks that the metal table dug into his front thighs. He moaned, the cold steel a harsh contrast to his burning dick through his thin scrubs.
“I- I’m sorry, doc. Do whatever you gotta do, shit…” he was grateful Byeong-gi couldn’t see the red flush on his face, annoyingly loving the degrading way the doctor spoke to him.
Byeong-gi gave an affirmative hum, easing up on Deok-Su’s body as he continued the faux exam. The neutral latex against his skin excited Deok-Su, especially paired with the way the doctor ran his hands over his body. Roaming from his hips, to his thighs, even right above his abdomen. “Ahh, the patient's body is responding very well to the stimuli… his heart rate is steadily increasing…” Byeong-gi started palming his ass with both hands. “The patient seems… eager. His bad attitude has been corrected with simple positive reinforcement techniques.”
Deok-Su shuddered, the dirty talk doing it for him in ways he detested. He heard the soft squelch of something, and quickly put two and two together when Byeong-gi started fingering his hole with cold, wet fingertips. “Fuck, shit!” Deok-Su groaned, elbows shaking as he gripped the side of the table.
“Patient’s rectum is tight… with some extended fingering, he should open up in no time for his treatment.”
“Treatment? What the fuck do you mean?” He asked between heavy breaths.
Byeong-gi slipped half his finger inside, flexing it around inside his hole. He slowly pushed it in and out, Deok-Su’s loud and deep grunts filling the room. He slipped another finger in, that good ache blossoming in Deok-Su’s hole from the girth of the two fingers. “F-fuck…”
He pumped them in and out, the sensation of the latex much more enjoyable than Deok-Su ever imagined. Bent over an examination table, getting fingered roughly by his doctor; it made him feel so incredibly disgusted by himself and so incredibly turned on. “Good work, you’re doing very well for the doctor,” Byeong-gi chimed. “My, if you keep up this attitude, you’re going to be my favorite patient.” His voice was husky and low, enthralling Deok-Su further.
“I’m going to give you your treatment soon, Deok-Su. It should really help your problem.”
“F- fuck,” Deok-Su grunted. “W- what treatment?”
Byeong-gi curled his fingers inside him, rubbing up against his prostate, drawing cry after cry from his patient. “The doctor’s cock, Deok-Su. I think you need a good fucking if you’re gonna be cured of your problem.”
Through shaking breaths he asked, “A- and what exactly is ‘my problem?’”
Deok-Su cried out from the doctor pushing his tip inside, Byeong-gi’s pulsing member shocking every inch of his nervous system.
“You’re a fucking asshole, Deok-Su. It’s almost like you need a brat tamer.”
The doctor thrusted inside, half his length swallowed by Deok-Su’s tight hole. He gasped out, cursing loudly as his torso collapsed onto the exam table. He bit his lip to stop from crying out ‘fuck, oh fuck!’
Honestly, he would have expected this to go the other way around– the doctor down on his knees, Deok-Su mercilessly using his throat as his own fleshlight. He hadn’t anticipated being folded over the examination table and ruthlessly pounded like the doctor’s bitch.
“Take it,” the doctor panted. “Just like that, fuck yes!” His pace quickly increased, ramming his large cock in and out of Deok-Su with little regard. A string of curses, grunts and screams came from Deok-Su unendingly, his own cock still hard and swollen.
He could feel it at the edge of his stomach, each thrust sending a wave of savory elation to every corner of his body. He closed his eyes, drooling on the table as he focused on the delicious sensations. Byeong-gi, who had so expertly examined his body in that private basement clinic, was ravishing him beyond his wildest imagination. It turned Deok-Su on, the thought of the doctor leering at his open scrubs and fantasizing about bending him over the very table he’d tended his wounds on.
“Not so tough anymore, hm?” The doctor chirped, lowering his lips to behind Deok-Su’s ear as he fucked him carelessly. “I didn’t peg you for the kind of guy to take a dick-down like this,” he spewed. “But I guess that’s life, huh? The stalwart boss is actually desperate to get fucked by his doctor?”
“Fuck you,” Deok-Su muttered, his voice weak and strained. “Is that all you’ve got? A dirty mouth and a tiny dick?”
The all consuming thought that was a big mistake quickly overtook his mind when he felt the doctor’s hands snag his hair at the same time he slipped his hand under Deok-Su’s scrubs and wrapped his hand around his shaft. He yanked his head back, the doctor’s cock digging deeper in his ass as he winced from the pain of pulling hair. Byeong-gi didn't ease him into it, immediately masturbating his cock at a brutal, callous pace. Involuntary tears dotted the bottom of his eyelids from the sheer force of Byeong-gi’s hands.
“Really? What the fuck is wrong with you?” The doctor continued to fuck him, bringing hell’s fury on Deok-Su’s cock at the same time. “How much do you need to piss me off until you’re satisfied?”
“Ah- fuck! I’m- fuck!” Deok-Su dug his nails uselessly into the steel exam table, coming hard on the inside of his patient’s gown. The doctor didn’t let up, however, maintaining the exact same pace as before, well after he had reached orgasm. Deok-Su cried out– deep, guttural screams through whiney, panting breaths. After all the buttons he pushed, it seemed there was no un-pushing them.
He resigned to staying collapsed onto the cold surface, the doctor relentlessly pleasing himself using his patient’s hole. Spit pooled at his mouth, eyelids fluttering between open and shut as he accepted the consequences of his actions. It was quite the sight– the bulky gang leader bent over while some academic treated him like a whore he paid for.
Byeong-gi’s breath hitched, and he leaned down just to whisper, “I’m gonna come in your fucking ass.” His cock swelled inside Deok-Su, and he felt the doctor release an enormous, hot load deep inside him. The doctor finally gave up on punishing his cock, and Deok-Su sighed with relief when his spent dick was abandoned to hang limply against the mess in his gown.
“Fuck… just warm my cock for a while, fucking jackass…” he muttered breathlessly. Deok-Su was perfectly content to just lay there, debating if he felt more exhausted from this than the initial beating that sent him there. “Shit…” Byeong-gi pulled out, leaving Deok-Su with a warm wetness spilling from his ass down the back of his thigh…
He wasn’t even sure if he would be able to stand, and after some experimentation he discovered he mostly could. Byeong-gi had his back turned to him at the sink, only taking care of himself. A stiff and sore Deok-Su undressed from his scrubs, using them to wipe away the semen from his front and backside. He dressed in the clothes he had arrived there in, except someone had washed and folded them. The doctor, Deok-Su assumed.
Wordlessly, Deok-Su walked to the exit.
“Come back anytime,” Byeong-gi called. Deok-Su glanced backwards, eyes locking. “For your medical needs, of course.”
Deok-Su didn’t respond, simply leaving, never to speak to anyone of this day again.
How many years it had been, Deok-Su didn’t remember. Since he had been face to face with this man, since he had been so masterfully stitched up his wounds. In a place like this, Deok-Su was shocked to have ever met the man again. The doctor.
That woman– the one clinging to him since they all arrived back at the games after that first vote– she had been insinuating all the damn day about fucking in the bathroom. Something, something, a good boy, something, something, don’t I deserve a reward. It was all just banter to look good in front of his pseudo-gang inside those walls.
“I have to use… the bathroom,” Mi-Nyeo said, sending Deok-Su an extremely non-covert wink. He chuckled, watching her stand up and walk towards the door.
He stood up, pulling his pants over the stitches Byeong-gi had just given him.
“Me too,” he said. He kept his eyes on her figure walking to the door, but his mind was elsewhere. He grazed his fingers over the stitches under his tracksuit pants, recalling another time he’d been tended to by the doctor.
Deok-Su made his way away from the group, mapping the directions to the bathroom in his mind. He allowed himself one glance– a small, quick look at the doctor.
Byeong-gi looked right back at him, face stoic, giving nothing away.
They gazed at one another, only for a moment. Less than a second. He broke eye contact, increasing his pace.
There was a woman waiting for him in the bathroom, after all.

Global Fashion’s Dirty Secret: How Fast Fashion Exploits Cultures and Communities
In an era where fashion trends change overnight and clothes can be ordered with a few taps, fast fashion seems like a dream. Cheap, accessible, and always "on trend" — what’s not to love? But beneath the racks of affordable clothes lies a harsh reality: fast fashion thrives on cultural exploitation and systemic inequality. Behind each patterned top or tribal-print skirt is often a story of stolen culture, underpaid labor, and environmental destruction.
Fast fashion brands frequently draw "inspiration" from traditional clothing around the world — without credit, compensation, or context. Indigenous beadwork, African prints, South Asian embroidery, and Native American headdresses are often reproduced in mass quantities for profit. These items are stripped of their cultural significance and marketed as exotic trends. For instance, in 2021, Urban Outfitters faced backlash for selling items labeled as "Navajo" without permission from the Navajo Nation. The company was sued for trademark infringement, a rare case where legal action highlighted the deep-rooted issues of cultural exploitation in fashion (Jones, 2021). Similarly, luxury and fast fashion brands alike have mimicked traditional Mexican textiles and patterns, often sidelining the artisans who created them. Cultural elements are not “aesthetic.” They are part of identity, history, and resistance. When large corporations profit from them without acknowledgment or collaboration, it perpetuates a system that benefits the powerful while silencing the marginalized.
Fast fashion’s production pipeline is also built on the backs of vulnerable workers, most of them women in developing countries. Countries like Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, and Cambodia are popular manufacturing hubs due to their cheap labor and minimal regulations. Workers in these countries are often paid far below living wages, work in unsafe conditions, and lack basic labor rights. A tragic example is the Rana Plaza collapse in 2013, which killed over 1,100 garment workers in Bangladesh. The factory was producing clothes for major global brands, highlighting the direct connection between Western demand for cheap clothing and unsafe labor practices abroad (International Labor Rights Forum, 2022). While some companies promised reforms after the tragedy, progress has been slow and inconsistent. Despite contributing billions to the global economy, garment workers in the Global South remain impoverished. According to the Asia Floor Wage Alliance (2023), many workers in fast fashion supply chains earn only 20–30% of what they need to support a family. This economic disparity is a form of modern-day colonialism — Western countries continue to benefit from the cheap labor of the Global South without sharing the profits or improving working conditions.
Fast fashion not only harms people during production — it also impacts communities through waste. Every year, 92 million tons of textile waste are generated globally (Ellen MacArthur Foundation, 2020). While Western consumers discard clothing quickly, many of these garments end up in landfills or are dumped in African and Asian countries, where they clog ecosystems and harm local economies. In Ghana’s capital, Accra, over 15 million used garments arrive weekly, mostly from the Global North. Many are of such poor quality that they’re thrown away immediately, creating mountains of textile waste that pollute waterways and communities (OR Foundation, 2023). This "waste colonialism" forces developing countries to deal with the consequences of overconsumption they did not create.
What can be done to combat the exploitation within the fast fashion industry? First, supporting ethical brands is key. Shop from brands that are transparent about their sourcing, pay fair wages, and collaborate with artisans respectfully. Platforms like Good On You and Fashion Revolution offer helpful guides and brand ratings. Second, respect cultural boundaries by avoiding the use of sacred symbols (like bindis or headdresses) as fashion statements and instead buying directly from creators or businesses run by people from those cultures. Ethical consumerism is about asking the question: Am I honoring or appropriating? Third, embracing slow fashion is crucial. Buy less and wear more — slow fashion values quality over quantity. Thrift, repair, and rewear. Each garment reused is a blow against the fast fashion machine. Finally, advocate for policy change by supporting legislation that enforces fair labor practices, protects Indigenous intellectual property, and penalizes environmental violations.
Fast fashion isn’t just a personal choice — it’s a global issue. It reflects systems of power, inequality, and exploitation that stretch from factory floors in Dhaka to storefronts in New York. To be a responsible global citizen, we must look beyond price tags and trends and recognize the true cost of the clothes we wear. Fashion can be beautiful, but only if it’s rooted in respect — for people, cultures, and the planet.

The Future of Mining: Sustainability and Ethical Sourcing
The mining industry is undergoing a profound transformation. As the global demand for raw materials like lithium, cobalt, and rare earth elements surges, driven by renewable energy technologies and electric vehicles, the emphasis on sustainability and ethical sourcing has never been more crucial. This shift is not just a moral imperative but a business necessity, with stakeholders demanding transparency and responsibility throughout the supply chain.
The Push for Sustainability in Mining
Mining has long been associated with significant environmental challenges, including habitat destruction, water contamination, and carbon emissions. However, modern technologies and innovative practices are paving the way for greener operations.
Renewable Energy Integration: Mining companies are increasingly adopting renewable energy sources such as solar and wind to power their operations. For instance, some mines in Chile and Australia now operate entirely on renewable energy, reducing their carbon footprint and operational costs.
Circular Economy Practices: Recycling metals from electronic waste and repurposing mining byproducts are becoming more common. These initiatives not only reduce the need for virgin material extraction but also address the issue of mining waste.
Water Management Innovations: Water is a critical resource in mining, often used in large quantities for processing minerals. Companies are investing in technologies to recycle water and reduce consumption, ensuring minimal impact on local communities and ecosystems.
Ethical Sourcing: A Growing Priority
Consumers and businesses alike are increasingly prioritizing ethically sourced materials. This trend has put pressure on the mining industry to ensure fair labor practices, community welfare, and environmental stewardship.
Fair Labor Practices: Reports of child labor and unsafe working conditions in some mining regions have raised global concerns. Ethical sourcing requires adherence to international labor standards and active monitoring of supply chains to prevent exploitation.
Community Engagement: Mining operations often disrupt local communities. Ethical sourcing involves consulting with and compensating affected populations, ensuring that mining benefits are shared equitably. Initiatives such as community-driven mining agreements are fostering collaboration and trust.
Transparency and Certification: Organizations like the Responsible Mining Initiative and Fairmined Certification are helping companies demonstrate their commitment to ethical practices. Blockchain technology is also being used to trace materials from mine to market, providing verifiable proof of ethical sourcing.

Do you think Rogue Gai had one of the hardest childhoods?
I always imagined this Gai's parents were politically assassinated to send a message. Like they were blacksmith parents who were conscripted to make weapons/ armor, but the quantity/ quality that was demanded of them was too high, especially for the pay they were recieving (or not recieving. Oof.) and it ended up with them being killed, and their shop/ home being burned down for their "disobedience." Gai just BARELY managing to escape himself, but probably saw the whole thing happen.
Maybe his parents locked him in a built in cupboard that had a small secret door to the outside access in case of emergencies. Like the wall boards were able to move so he/they could have left in case of emergency. (Maybe they were already doing some rebellious stuff and used that secret entrence to let people hide from law enforcement, but how often it was used made the cops suspicious until they were targeted.) But there was no time for the parents to escape... they only had time to save their son...I always picture him as a child eventually running to where the river/ willow tree is and breaking down there. Hiding beneath the tree and praying to any god to not be found as soldiers drew near. I wonder if Nanako was the one who heard him and made a distraction since she was closest). And with Hiroki, the oldest/ one of the only trusted adults in the village dying, and his orphanage/ hospital being ransacked, Gai ended up taking his chances on the streets, and maybe with the help of some beggars, managed to learn the only way to get by was to steal. To be fast, be clever, and stay out of sight. Eventually he learned the city was forever unsafe and hid/ grew up in the woods for "safety." Which came with many if its own challenges...
From there he went from angry/ scared orphan, to thief, to gang member, to freedom fighter rapidly. Until whispers of his name could be heard in fear/hope throughout the village, all depending on who talked about him. He became so infamous that Kakashi heard his name in passing. (And the rest between them, is history).
I think the only version of himself that may have had it harder, was second Gai.
Was I right about any of that?
Childhood wise i would say that Rogue Gai, Dragon Gai and Merchant Gai actually sort of match up.
A large reason for Merchant Gai travelling so much is he has bad memories of his home. He remembers watching both of his parents die from disease or attack and growing up alone in a home that held so many memories. Once he was old enough he clawed his way to an escape by making enough money to get himself a boat. He did all sorts of odd jobs to get this boat, but once he had it he was free. He could sail whenever he wanted and it quickly became a way for him to make money.
I do like the idea of Nakano being the one to protect Gai, perhaps even putting up a veil over him so that when people passed by they didn’t see him at all. She’s not ready to reach out to him yet, but she will protect him from any harm.
I also love the idea of Kakashi walking through the village, just sort of checking in on it, and hearing whispers about a great thief known for stealing from the Rich and giving to the poor.
One of the first places Gai gave money to was actually the orphanage/hospital, which is the first place Lee had rebuilt/repaired when he took the throne.
(I almost want Lee to be Gai’s biological son in this au, so the royal family circles back to Gai without him actually taking the throne)
Kakashi seeking out Yamato and asking him to keep abreast of eye out for some thieves hiding in his woods, and Yamato just rolling his eyes and saying ‘those ass holes who use ny tree’s for target practice? Ya, i can show you where they are”

The Hybrid Power of Bayesian Networks in Medical Diagnosis
In essence, a pre-built Bayesian Network (BN) for medical diagnosis is a powerful tool that hinges on a sophisticated blend of human expertise and vast patient data. This hybrid approach is crucial for building robust and reliable AI diagnostic systems.
Building the Network's Structure
First, consider the network's structure. This is the fundamental blueprint of the BN, defining the relationships between various medical variables like symptoms, diseases, risk factors, and test results. Think of it as the logical and causal framework of the model.
This structure is primarily constructed by human expertise. Top-tier medical professionals, with their deep understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and clinical reasoning, are indispensable here. They meticulously define which symptoms are linked to which diseases, what risk factors influence specific conditions, and how different tests impact diagnostic probabilities.
While Large Language Models (LLMs) might offer some potential for assistance in the future—perhaps by extracting relevant causal relationships from vast medical literature—the final validation and refinement of this intricate structure will always demand the discerning eye and deep clinical acumen of highly experienced doctors. This ensures the network's logical coherence and clinical relevance.
Populating with Conditional Probabilities
Second, once the structure is in place, the network needs to be populated with conditional probabilities. These are the "numbers" that breathe life into the structure, indicating the likelihood of one variable given the state of another (e.g., the probability of a specific symptom appearing if a certain disease is present).
These probabilities are predominantly derived from large quantities of real patient data. This means utilizing anonymized patient records, extensive epidemiological studies, and statistical insights from clinical trials. These vast datasets allow the BN to learn the actual likelihoods of various conditions and their associated manifestations.
However, human expertise remains crucial here as well. In cases where real data is scarce or nonexistent (ee.g., for rare diseases, novel conditions, or specific patient subgroups), expert medical opinion is used to fill these probabilistic gaps. Physicians can provide educated estimates based on their clinical experience, which can then be refined as more data becomes available.
Why Top-Tier Medical Professionals Are Essential for AI in Medicine
The promising nature of Bayesian Networks in diagnostic assistance lies precisely in this synergy: the explicit knowledge of human experts combines with the machine's capacity to process immense datasets. This powerful combination allows BNs to:
Model uncertainty: They effectively handle the inherent ambiguities in medical diagnosis by expressing probabilities.
Provide explainability: Unlike "black box" AI models, BNs can show the dependencies between variables, allowing clinicians to understand why a particular diagnosis is suggested. This transparency is paramount in medicine.
This leads directly to why AI-powered medicine critically needs top-tier medical professionals:
To build and validate the AI's "medical brain": The core logic, the fundamental relationships, and the initial probabilities of sophisticated diagnostic AI models like Bayesian Networks must be meticulously crafted and continuously validated by clinicians with deep domain expertise. Without this, the AI could make illogical or unsafe inferences.
To interpret and contextualize AI outputs: An AI might suggest a diagnosis, but a highly skilled doctor is needed to weigh that suggestion against the patient's unique history, social context, ethical considerations, and any subtle clinical signs that the AI might miss. They can also identify when the AI might be "hallucinating" or misinterpreting data.
To handle the nuances of human interaction: The empathetic patient interview, the subtle art of palpation, and the overall human connection are skills that AI cannot replicate. Top doctors bring invaluable intuition and judgment to the diagnostic process that goes beyond data points.
To adapt to evolving knowledge and new challenges: Medical science is constantly advancing. Experienced physicians are at the forefront of this evolution, understanding new diseases, treatments, and research. They are essential for updating and refining AI models to ensure they remain current and relevant.
For ultimate responsibility and accountability: Even with advanced AI, the ultimate responsibility for a patient's diagnosis and care rests with the human clinician. Their expert judgment is the final arbiter, especially in complex or ambiguous cases.
In conclusion, while AI like Bayesian Networks offers groundbreaking potential for enhancing diagnostic efficiency and accuracy, it functions best as a powerful co-pilot. It extends the reach and analytical capabilities of medical professionals, but it absolutely does not replace their indispensable expertise, critical thinking, and profound human judgment. The future of medicine is a collaborative one, where the most advanced AI tools empower, rather than sideline, the most skilled human clinicians.

What Happens If You Eat Mold?
Mold is a common issue in kitchens and on food, often raising concerns about safety. If you accidentally consume moldy food, you might wonder: what happens if you eat mold? Is it dangerous, or can cooking fix it? Mold growth on food isn’t just unsightly—it can pose health risks, especially for those with allergies or weakened immune systems.
Understanding what mold is, its potential effects, and how to avoid contamination in your kitchen can help protect your health. This article explores the facts about eating mold, symptoms, prevention methods, and how using mold-resistant kitchen tools from ChopChop USA can keep your food prep safer.
What Is Mold?
Mold is a type of fungus that grows in multicellular filaments called hyphae. It thrives in warm, damp, and humid environments and feeds on organic materials, including many types of food. Mold spores float in the air and can settle on food surfaces, leading to visible fuzzy growth.
While some molds are harmless or even useful (such as those in cheese production), many molds can produce harmful substances called mycotoxins. These toxins may cause allergic reactions, respiratory problems, or food poisoning if ingested. Mold often develops on foods like bread, fruits, vegetables, cheese, and leftovers if stored improperly.
Is Eating Mold Always Dangerous?
When considering what happens if you eat mold, the answer depends on several important factors, including the specific type of mold, how much you consume, and your individual health sensitivity.
Some molds are harmless or even beneficial
Not all molds are bad. Certain molds are intentionally introduced during the food production process to create unique flavors and textures.
For example, blue cheese, Brie, Camembert, and soy sauce all rely on specific molds that are safe and edible. These molds are carefully controlled and are not harmful to most people when consumed as part of these foods.
Many molds produce harmful mycotoxins
Unfortunately, many molds found on spoiled or improperly stored food produce toxic substances called mycotoxins. These chemicals can cause a wide range of health problems depending on the type and amount ingested.
Mycotoxins may trigger allergic reactions, digestive upset, or more severe conditions like immune system suppression and organ damage if exposure is prolonged or the toxins are consumed in large quantities.
Vulnerable groups are at greater risk
Certain populations are more susceptible to the dangers of mold. People with allergies or asthma can experience heightened respiratory symptoms, such as coughing, wheezing, or nasal congestion.
Those with weakened immune systems—such as young children, elderly individuals, or people with chronic illnesses—are more vulnerable to infections or toxic effects from mold ingestion. These groups should take extra care to avoid any mold exposure.
Effect on healthy individuals varies
For most healthy adults, accidentally consuming a small amount of mold on food may not cause immediate or severe symptoms. However, repeated or large exposures can lead to gastrointestinal discomfort, including nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Additionally, some individuals might develop mild allergic reactions or respiratory issues depending on their sensitivity.
Risk depends heavily on the type of food
Mold grows differently depending on the food’s texture and moisture content. On hard foods like certain cheeses or firm vegetables, mold tends to grow only on the surface and can sometimes be safely trimmed away.
In contrast, soft or porous foods such as bread, fruits, or cooked leftovers allow mold to penetrate deeply, contaminating the entire item. In these cases, the whole food is unsafe to eat, and consumption could lead to mycotoxin ingestion.
Cooking moldy food does not necessarily make it safe
A common misconception about what happens if you eat mold is that cooking or reheating moldy food will kill all harmful agents. While heat can kill mold spores, mycotoxins produced by molds are often heat-resistant and remain toxic even after cooking. This means that consuming cooked moldy food still poses health risks.
Best practice is to avoid eating moldy food altogether
To minimize health risks, it’s safest to discard any food that shows visible mold growth or has an off smell. Preventive measures like proper food storage, timely consumption, and hygiene are key to reducing mold exposure.
What Happens When You Eat Mold?
Understanding what happens if you eat mold helps prepare you for possible symptoms and actions to take.
Stomach problems are common
Many people may feel sick to their stomach, experience vomiting, or have diarrhea after eating mold. This happens because some molds produce toxins that upset your digestive system.
Allergic reactions may occur
If you’re allergic to mold, eating moldy food can cause symptoms like sneezing, coughing, a runny nose, or trouble breathing. People with asthma or mold allergies are especially sensitive and may have stronger reactions.
Some molds produce dangerous toxins
Certain types of mold release mycotoxins, which are harmful chemicals. Eating these can cause food poisoning symptoms such as stomach pain, headaches, fever, and weakness.
Long-term health risks
Regularly eating moldy food with mycotoxins can weaken your immune system and may contribute to more serious health issues over time, like respiratory problems or even cancer.
Most healthy people can handle small amounts
Your body’s immune system can usually fight off small amounts of mold without serious problems, but it’s still safest to avoid eating moldy food whenever possible.
Moldy food can also carry harmful bacteria
Besides mold, spoiled food might have bacteria that cause foodborne illnesses, which can make you feel worse or sicker.
When to seek medical help
If after eating mold you experience severe stomach pain, difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, or other serious symptoms, it’s important to see a doctor right away.
What To Do If You Accidentally Eat Mold
If you find out that you’ve accidentally eaten moldy food, don’t panic. Knowing what happens if you eat mold is important, but most cases are not emergencies.
Stop Eating the Moldy Food Immediately
As soon as you realize the food is moldy, stop eating it right away. Don’t try to “salvage” the rest of the food by cutting off the moldy part, especially if the food is soft or porous like bread, cheese, or cooked leftovers. Mold can spread invisibly throughout the food, so it’s safest to discard it completely to avoid further ingestion.
Keep an Eye on Your Symptoms
After eating mold, watch yourself closely for any signs of illness. Common symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach cramps, or headaches. Some people may also develop allergic reactions such as sneezing, coughing, runny nose, or skin rashes. If you notice mild symptoms, they will usually resolve on their own within a day or two.
Stay Hydrated
If you experience digestive symptoms like vomiting or diarrhea, drink plenty of fluids such as water, herbal tea, or oral rehydration solutions. Staying hydrated helps flush toxins from your system and prevents dehydration, which can make symptoms worse.
Seek Medical Advice When Needed
Contact a healthcare provider if your symptoms are severe, don’t improve after a couple of days, or get worse over time. This is especially important if you have pre-existing health conditions such as asthma, allergies, a weakened immune system, or chronic illnesses. Also, seek medical help immediately if you experience difficulty breathing, persistent vomiting, high fever, or severe abdominal pain.
Avoid Self-Medicating
Do not take antibiotics, antifungal medications, or other treatments on your own without consulting a doctor. These medications won’t work against mold toxins (mycotoxins) and could cause unwanted side effects or complications.
Prevent Future Mold Exposure
To prevent what happens if you eat mold from becoming a real concern, it’s essential to review your food storage and kitchen habits. Always check expiration dates before eating, refrigerate perishable foods promptly, and keep your fridge clean and organized. Regularly inspect foods, especially bread, fruits, vegetables, dairy, and leftovers, for signs of mold.
Watch for Respiratory Symptoms
If you notice any signs of respiratory distress such as wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, or persistent coughing after eating mold, seek emergency medical care right away. This is particularly important for individuals with asthma or known mold allergies, as exposure can trigger serious respiratory reactions.
How to Prevent Mold on Food
Preventing mold on food is essential for maintaining a safe and healthy kitchen. Mold thrives in warm, damp environments, so controlling moisture and cleanliness is key.
Proper Food Storage
Store perishable foods in airtight containers in the refrigerator at or below 40°F (4°C). For longer storage, freeze foods to halt mold growth. Avoid leaving leftovers out for more than two hours.
Inspect Food Regularly
Check fruits, vegetables, bread, and dairy products often for early signs of mold. Discard any items showing fuzz or discoloration, especially soft foods where mold penetrates easily.
Maintain Clean Kitchen Surfaces
Mold spores can accumulate on countertops, cutting boards, and utensils. Regularly clean surfaces with warm soapy water and sanitize with vinegar or a mild bleach solution when necessary.
Using Mold-Resistant Surfaces and Kitchen Tools
Traditional cutting boards made of wood, bamboo, or plastic can harbor mold due to their porous nature. Wood and bamboo absorb moisture and food particles, creating ideal breeding grounds for mold and bacteria if not cleaned properly. Plastic boards, especially when deeply scratched, can also trap contaminants.
This is where ChopChop USA kitchenware excels. Titanium and stainless steel are naturally non-porous, meaning they do not absorb moisture, food particles, or bacteria. They are resistant to corrosion and mold growth, making them a hygienic choice for food preparation. Unlike traditional materials, titanium boards maintain their smooth, mold-resistant finish without the need for frequent oiling or replacement.

Why Regular Pallet Collection Is Essential for Warehouses
Warehouses are the backbone of modern supply chains. They store goods, materials, and products before they reach customers or retailers. In this busy environment, managing space efficiently is critical. One key factor that affects warehouse efficiency is the use of pallets. Pallets are used to stack, store, and move products. However, over time, pallets accumulate, leading to clutter and safety hazards. This is where regular pallet collection becomes essential.
Regular pallet collection helps warehouses stay organised, safe, and productive. In this blog, we will explore why maintaining proper collection is an innovative practice. We will examine the benefits and explain how it can enhance your warehouse operations.
Maximizes Warehouse Space
Warehouses often face space constraints. Pallets, especially when left unused or damaged, occupy valuable floor space. Regular pallet collection removes excess pallets and clears the space. This enables warehouses to utilise the available space more efficiently. With more open space, forklifts and workers can move freely. It also means more room for storing new inventory.
When pallets are collected on time, warehouses avoid stacking pallets in unsafe ways. This prevents accidents and damage. Efficient space use improves workflow and increases the warehouse’s overall capacity.
Enhances Workplace Safety
Safety is a top priority in any warehouse. Pallets left scattered or piled improperly create hazards. Workers can trip over loose pallets or get injured from falling stacks. Damaged pallets can have nails or splinters that cause harm.
Regular collection ensures that pallets are removed promptly. This reduces clutter and lowers the risk of accidents. Clean aisles and organised storage areas help keep employees safe. A safer workplace also means fewer interruptions and less downtime.
Maintains Pallet Quality and Usability
Pallets are meant to be reused many times. However, if pallets are stored improperly or left to accumulate, they can become damaged. Weather, moisture, and rough handling can cause pallets to weaken. Regular pallet collection enables the identification and repair or recycling of damaged pallets.
By collecting pallets on schedule, warehouses maintain a healthy supply of good-quality pallets. This ensures that loading and unloading happen smoothly without pallet failures. It also reduces costs because the warehouse doesn’t need to buy new pallets as often.
Improves Inventory Management
A cluttered warehouse makes inventory management difficult. When pallets are left in random places, it is harder to keep track of stock. Regular pallet collection helps create a clean and orderly environment. This makes it easier to scan, count, and manage inventory.
With better pallet organisation, workers spend less time searching for products. This results in faster order fulfilment and fewer errors. Ultimately, it improves customer satisfaction.
Supports Compliance with Regulations
Many warehouses are required to comply with safety and environmental regulations. These often include rules about storage conditions and waste management. Regular pallet collection helps warehouses stay compliant.
Removing broken or unsafe pallets prevents hazards and keeps the warehouse within legal standards. It also ensures proper disposal or recycling of pallets. Compliance helps avoid fines and legal issues that can disrupt business operations.
Reduces Fire Hazards
Wooden pallets are flammable. When piled up in large quantities, they pose a serious fire risk. Dust and debris can also accumulate around pallets, increasing the danger.
Regular pallet collection helps reduce this fire hazard by minimising the number of pallets. Clearing pallets means fewer combustible materials stored in one place. This helps protect both the warehouse and its contents.
Enhances Efficiency of Material Handling
Material handling equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks rely on clear pathways. Excess pallets block these routes, slowing down operations.
Scheduled pallet collection keeps pathways clear. This improves the speed and efficiency of loading and unloading. Workers can move pallets and products quickly and safely. This smooth workflow saves time and labour costs.
Boosts Sustainability Efforts
Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in logistics. Warehouses can contribute by managing pallets responsibly.
Regular pallet collection allows for the recycling and reuse of pallets. Instead of discarding pallets in landfills, they can be repaired or turned into other products. This reduces waste and supports eco-friendly practices. Sustainable pallet management is good for the environment and the company’s reputation.
Facilitates Better Vendor Relationships
Many warehouses work closely with pallet suppliers and logistics partners. Regular pallet collection makes it easier to manage these relationships.
By returning pallets on time, warehouses avoid penalties and maintain good standing with vendors. Clear pallet management helps track inventory movement and supports smooth transactions. This strengthens partnerships and improves service quality.
Saves Money in the Long Run
At first, pallet collection may seem like an extra task or cost. But in reality, it saves money over time.
Avoiding damage, preventing accidents, improving efficiency, and promoting sustainability all contribute to reduced expenses. A well-managed pallet system lowers the need for new pallets and minimises operational disruptions. These savings add up and contribute to a healthier bottom line.
Conclusion
Regular pallet collection is not just a minor chore in warehouse management. It is a crucial process that impacts safety, efficiency, space, and cost. By keeping pallets organised and collected, warehouses create a safer work environment and improve operational flow. The benefits of regular pallet collection include maximising space, reducing hazards, maintaining pallet quality, improving inventory control, and supporting sustainability. These advantages help warehouses run smoothly and meet industry standards.

A baby spider monkey and two rattlesnakes were discovered at the home of a suspect who was busted for methamphetamine during a traffic stop in California, police said.
The incident began on May 6 when Solano County Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on 50-year-old Clifford Vincenty in Vallejo, California, and discovered half a pound of methamphetamine in his vehicle, police said.
Vincenty, who is also a Vallejo resident, was taken into custody without incident and charged with possession of a controlled substance for sale.
However, the following day, Solano County Vice Detectives and the Solano County Sheriff’s Enforcement Team served a search warrant at Vincenty’s residence in Vallejo which is when they discovered more evidence in the case against Vincenty.
“The Solano County Sheriff’s Office has made a significant drug-related arrest following a traffic stop and subsequent search warrant that uncovered a large quantity of methamphetamine worth approximately $26,000 street value, and the discovery of additional contraband, cash, and exotic animals,” police said. “The search yielded an additional pound of methamphetamine, more than $2,000 cash, a live spider monkey, and two live rattlesnakes.”
Animal Control safely removed the animals, who were evaluated for proper care, and the spider monkey was later placed in the Oakland Zoo with the help of California Fish and Wildlife, officials said.
The primate, who was named Violeta by Oakland Zoo staff, was reported to be in decent health and is thought to be around 18-months-old, zoo officials said.
“Veterinary Hospital staff are taking measures to ensure Violeta's overall wellbeing and have reported that she is doing well in her temporary home where keepers have set up enrichment, along with blankets and toys to keep her comfortable and stimulated,” officials said. “They are providing her with a healthy diet that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables, and she is drinking formula that will help to minimize the likelihood of pathologic bony fractures.”
Wildlife trafficking is one of the largest illegal trades in the world, second only to drug and human trafficking, according to the Oakland Zoo, who says the trade is often fueled by the demand for these animals as pets or for profit-driven businesses, such as photo opportunities and interactive experiences.
“Wildlife trafficking is a growing conservation crisis, driving countless species, like spider monkeys and other nonhuman primates, toward extinction. These animals are often exploited through the exotic pet trade, kept in unsafe, inhumane conditions that threaten both their welfare and public safety. The Captive Primate Safety Act, recently introduced in Congress is a critical step toward ending this exploitation by banning the private ownership of primates and reinforcing our national commitment to responsible wildlife protection,” says Nik Dehejia, CEO at Oakland Zoo.
Meanwhile, Vincenty now faces additional charges, including possession of a controlled substance for sale and potential violations related to the possession of exotic animals.
“This operation demonstrates our commitment to disrupting illegal drug activity in Solano County,” said Undersheriff Brad DeWall.
The investigation into the case is currently ongoing.

@loyaltyforged: Lan Fan always struggled with gift giving. It wasn’t necessarily the fact that she was unable to buy things, whether expensive or in a large quantity, but more so she wanted to make sure the gift meant something to the receiver. She agonized over what to do for Ling’s birthday this year, knowing he had been prone to spending it alone (aside from her company, of course), turning several ideas over in her head before ultimately rejecting them.
It’s one day that she was out running an errand, she came across a vendor selling crystals, raw and tumbled, from little round stones to pillars and even embedded in handmade jewelry. She perused the wares for a while, though was unable to find anything she felt was suitable in terms of gift giving — though, a raw chunk of apache tears catches her eyes, small in nature a black stone with wispy white markings throughout.
After talking to the seller for several minutes, she forks over a chunk of the money she had been saving and leaves, only to return in a few weeks’ time.
The day of his birthday, she’s surprised in the change of events from years prior, and waits. The bodyguard waits until everyone has made their rounds, both relieved and pleased that he has others expressing their love and wishes, glad that, for once, he’s not quite so alone. She never felt like she was enough on days like these — not enough comfort or company to fill the void her grandfather left, not in Ling’s heart nor her own.
It’s when he leaves to visit Fu’s grave that she follows in silence, in the shadows, as she always does, as is customary and habitual. Lan Fan keeps her distance, unable to offer many words or comfort as he grieves over her grandfather’s grave. Her steps are silent when she does approach, when it looks like he has no intention of returning to his quarters within the palace, crouching down in the grass beside him.
Several beats of follow before she sighs softly, a gentle handle settling on his shoulder. “…You can’t stay here, you know. It’s unsafe.” He’s her priority here, but sometimes tough love is necessary, especially in the absence of the rock that was her grandfather. “I know it’s your birthday, but you still need to take care of yourself,” she says, the lower pitch of her voice soft, but firm in resolve.
“I know it isn’t much, however—,” Lan Fan fishes out of her uniform something small enough to fit in the palm of her hand before reaching for one of his and placing it in his own, closing his fingers around it. The crystal is flat, perhaps just one centimeter in thickness, and the surface is incredibly smooth with a raised edge, the indention perfect for rubbing one’s thumb around in circles when worried. The shape isn’t quite an oval as is traditional for worry stones — if he looks at it, he’ll find that it is very clearly intended to be the yang half of yin yang, resembling the symbol on the forehead of her grandfather’s mask, a circle engraved into the surface on either side at the wider end of the crystal.
Crystals are part of their culture, used for balancing energies, manifesting things they want in life, and healing their chakras. She knew enough, having known a few healers and a spiritual guide or two, but with using the Dragon’s Pulse to read energies of those around her, it wasn’t something she could simply choose to disregard.
“I hope it helps.”
[ annie’s note: i woke up from a dead sleep to write this when i saw it was the boyo’s bday. it took like an hour or smth but lan fan insisted. ]
[ annie’s note #2: apache tears (specially the obsidian variety) is used for deep emotional healing, especially sorrow or grief! it can also protect you from negative energies or absorb stress while you’re healing ]
Ling senses Lan Fan before he feels her. He isn't upset or angry that she followed him out here and he isn't angry that she came to his side in his moment of grief and sorrow. She is one person he can never bring himself to be angry with, no matter how intense he may be feeling in a moment. He knows Lan Fan means well.
He isn't going to hide himself from her. Lan Fan's seen him at his worst, seen it all by this point. All the nightmares and the panic attacks, the anxiety. His waking up from night terrors and screaming for Fu, wonder what's going on and where he is, devastated when he's reminded that he's dead and Lan Fan being the only one to calm him down. There's nothing she hasn't seen or dealt with by now.
So he won't hide how he's feeling from her, won't hide the tears. He doesn't say anything to her when she tells him that it's not safe to stay out here and that he needs to take care of himself. He won't argue, although it is hard to get himself up at the moment because of how intense his emotions are hitting him right now. He does give her a small nod of acknowledgement though, to let her know that he heard her.
By this point, Ling's sobbing isn't as intense and it's mostly light sniffling now. He remains silent as Lan Fan speaks again and proceeds to place something small in his hand. Ling forces himself to sit up, slowly so as to not give himself a headache, and he looks at the crystal in his hand.
It's 'not much', Lan Fan says, but that isn't true. It's so much. There are foolish people who may think this is insignificant and a poor gift, but they would be sorely mistaken. This is a lovely gift, so thoughtful and meaningful. What the crystal is, the shape of it. It's important and means so much.
Ling holds it to close to his chest and sighs deeply to try and gain some composure. After a moment of being like that, he reaches forward and pulls Lan Fan into a hug. It's a gentle one, like they usually are when it comes to her. He only pulls back once to give her a gentle kiss on the forehead before holding her again.
"Thank you, Lan Fan," Ling whispers, voice raw but genuine and full of gratitude. "Thank you so much."

How to Choose the Right Skip Size for Your Project
When tackling a home renovation, garden clearance, or a large-scale construction project, one of the most practical decisions you can make is hiring a skip. However, selecting the correct skip size is essential not only for managing your waste effectively but also for ensuring you're not paying for unused space or, conversely, dealing with an overflow of waste. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to choose the right skip size for your project.

Understanding Skip Sizes
Skips come in a variety of sizes, usually measured in cubic yards. The size you need depends on the amount and type of waste you're planning to dispose of. Here's a breakdown of the most commonly available skip sizes:
Mini Skips (2–3 cubic yards): Ideal for small domestic jobs like garden clearances or minor DIY projects. These are compact and perfect when space is limited.
Midi Skips (4–5 cubic yards): A great choice for kitchen or bathroom renovations. They offer more capacity without taking up too much room.
Builder’s Skips (6–8 cubic yards): The most popular skip size for building projects. Suitable for mixed waste and bulky items, they strike a good balance between capacity and space efficiency.
Large Skips (10–12 cubic yards): Suitable for larger house clearances and light bulky waste. However, they’re generally not used for heavy materials like soil or concrete due to weight restrictions.
Roll-on Roll-off Skips (20–40 cubic yards): Best for industrial or commercial use, where large quantities of waste are generated regularly.
Factors to Consider When Choosing a Skip Size
1. Type of Project
The nature of your project is the primary factor in determining the skip size. A bathroom renovation generates different waste than a garden landscaping project. Heavy waste like rubble or soil will fill a skip quickly and may require a smaller but sturdier option, while lighter, bulkier waste may be better suited to a larger skip.
2. Volume of Waste
Estimate how much waste your project will generate. It’s often better to slightly overestimate than to underestimate. Overfilling a skip is not only unsafe but also illegal and could result in additional charges.
A helpful rule of thumb: one cubic yard is approximately the size of two standard washing machines or ten bin bags. Use this to estimate your waste and match it with a suitable skip.
3. Available Space
Check the amount of space you have to place the skip. Skips need to be placed on flat, stable ground with enough clearance for delivery and collection vehicles. If you lack space on your property, you might need a permit to place the skip on a public road.
4. Duration of Project
Consider how long your project will last. If it's a short-term job, you might be able to use a smaller skip and get it emptied more frequently. For longer projects, a larger skip can be more cost-effective.
5. Budget Constraints
Larger skips naturally cost more. However, hiring the wrong size and needing a second skip is more expensive in the long run. Match your budget with your project needs to strike the right balance between cost and convenience.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Underestimating Waste: Many people assume they’ll need a smaller skip than necessary, only to find they have excess waste. It’s better to choose the next size up if you’re unsure.
Overfilling the Skip: Overfilled skips can’t be legally transported. Ensure your waste does not exceed the skip’s sides—most skip companies will refuse to collect overfilled skips.
Ignoring Permit Requirements: If placing your skip on a public road or pavement, a permit is usually required. Check with your local council or skip provider to avoid fines.
Mixing Waste Types Improperly: Some skips have restrictions on what can be placed inside. For example, hazardous materials, electronics, and certain types of waste may need special disposal.
Local Expertise Matters
If you're in Surrey or surrounding areas, using a trusted local provider like Skip hire in Epsom can make the process seamless. Local companies often provide better customer service, faster turnaround times, and are familiar with the permit requirements in your area. They can also offer tailored advice based on their experience with similar projects in the region.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right skip size doesn’t have to be daunting. By assessing your waste type, project size, available space, and budget, you can select a skip that suits your needs perfectly. When in doubt, always consult with your skip hire provider—they’ve seen it all and can guide you toward the best solution.
Hiring the right skip saves time, reduces stress, and ensures your project runs smoothly from start to finish. Take the time to plan carefully, and you’ll avoid unnecessary expenses and complications down the line.
