Hiii!! I’m very new to the Greek Pantheon and honestly religion in general and am doing my best to learn! I’m trying to research and worship both Dionysus and Apollo but don’t know exactly where to start. Is it possible you could give me a few tips on good places to begin research, begin worship, etc?

I’m likely going to gather and essentially get a hold of recourses and an idea of what exactly to do before I really start doing anything in full, and by then I’ll probably pick either Dionysus or Apollo to start with since idk how I’d do both at once lol

Also if it’s not too much to ask, which it’s totally fine if it is, are there any specific “no”s that I should make sure not to do? I understand that I’m bound to make mistakes and stuff and that it’s fine, but it always helps to know things I should lean towards and things I should lean away from yknow?

Oki, first, I'll cover how to start worshipping. It's very easy, all you have to do is... start! -As in you don't have to do anything to be able to be a follower of the gods, just beleive and boom ur set to start. There was misinformation spreading back in 2020 about having to ask the gods for permission to worship, but that isn't true at all, I bring that up cause I made that mistake when i first started (⸝⸝⸝O﹏ O⸝⸝⸝).

Here's some things to know about worship:

-Altars aren't necessary!

-Prayer and offerings are important, but it's completely okay if you can't pray or give an offering all the time!

-Worship is a very personal thing, so go at your own pace, and don't feel guilty if you have periods where you can't practice do to external or internal forces!

Oki, onto researching. Some beginner friendly websites are Hellenism 101, The Theoi, Hellenicfaith, and Baring in the Aegis. Reading books are very good too! If you don't want to read an entire book though, I encourage tp look at the table of contents for information you really want and take notes. (I was gonna link you the link to that one post abt free books but i saw you already reblogged it so heck yeah 💪.)

Social media can be very good for learning at times but also really bad due to misinformation. R/Hellenism on reddit and Tumblr is really good, but make sure you continue doing independent research to verify things things others teach about the practice. Also fuck tiktok, 9/10 times its bull.

I encourage you to start with learning about the core values of helpol, cleansing, and how the ancient greeks worshipped in their normal day to day lives!

Now to the do nots!

- don't insult them pls 😭 don't call them slurs for fun or call them things like "daddy/mommy" in a weird way. That's the most common examples of disrespect I've seen.

- don't rush

- don't give human blood offerings. (Idk how old u are but if you like hunting, It's completely fine to give animal blood or any sort of animal offering if the animal is ETHICALLY killed -as in basically not tortured or killed when it's not the animal's season to be hunted. Just wanted to point that out cause some people mix it up and think it's bad to give ALL blood offerings).

- don't rely on candle flames for communication. If you want to communicate with a god, you'll have to learn divination which is its own entire thing to learn about. This is another common mistake I've seen ppl do.

- don't be afraid to do your own thing, you don't have to copy what everyone else is doing!

- don't take myths literally, they're just stories humans made!

yeah haruka could learn from ayano who he's closer to but I'm delusional abt haruka asking kido, seeing it as a way to approach them and become closer. i think haruka has his little adventure arc where he gets close to everyone in the dan with little bonding moments... kido likes haruka bc he's very chill and it makes them a bit emo about konoha, but spending that time with him allows them to separate the two more properly in their head... konoha was in the kitchen a lot with them, following them around and asking when food was gonna be ready or getting to snack on anything kido was cutting. haruka is more active, asks questions and seems so interested. but he's also asking for little samples like konoha used too hehe.. neither is better than the other it's just different yet similar people. kido is happy to hang out with haruka :3

sorry. that aside. back to harutaka. yeah i think haruka can cook. but he DEFINITELY learns!!! he definitely had no clue how to. he mentions having a live in helper to make meals and chores lmaoooo this guy is the worst i wonder if he's ever done a dish in his life. takane thinking haruka is flawless then moves in with him and Realises and she's like 😐oh my god. STOP WASTING TIME ON VIDEOGAMES. 3. what do u want for lunch :3) i think takane is... spoiled or just ig standard? idk what to call it. i mean in the sense she probably got a lot of her stuff done by the adult in her life. but unlike haruka who has a dismissive father who pays someone to keep the house together LOL, takane has her actual caretaker and i think miss grandma sounds like the kind who's a little strict and would keep takane very aware of chores and was strict enough to make her do at least some. so takane's actually got a lot more tools/skills/conscience for living alone than haruka. like she will do the dishes while haruka unconsciously waits for them to magically do themselves

Haruka and takane moving in together they are WINGING IT but they have fun. they're like No rules🔥🔥🔥we eat pizza everyday. they eat a lot of takeout and instant food even if haruka can cook bc takane is a picky eater and haruka doesn't always have the energy to cook. haruka and takane work from home according to me myself and i, and their Time Of The Day management is awful. their life is quarantine life. they never... properly organize meals. haruka will always remember lunch and dinner but maybe he wont be in the mood to be like omg maybe i can whip up something quick :3 *starts cutting onions* nah. he's making an everything sandwich and going back to drawing!!!! i also think kido tends to make food for everyone. haruka is one of the only dan members who actually gives kido their tupperwares back without a miss because haruka is very thankful/excited for kido to bring food (notorious tupperware thiefs are kano and shintaro)

hello!! just dropping by to talk a little about aphrotitty hehe, it was in my likes waiting to be read bc i didn't have time to start it until recently (like sunday or monday, smth like that) and let me tell you!!! whenever i had some free time i was reading it bc it is that good!! your writing is really fluid and it's really easy to picture the action. the story is really well paced, I love the slowburn!!! and it's so adorable how leon and so ah are falling for each other and slowly realizing their feelings. and i love how leon is trying to protect so ah at all costs :( so ah is just an adorable cutie pie and she needs to be protected i love her!!! (and ofc i'm like the biggest simp for leon and even more for infinite darkness leon what a man)

back to the plot!! (spoiler alert for anyone reading this bc i don't know how much i'm gonna say omg) the latest chapter was SO GOOD like i won't lie i was waiting for the outbreak to start djsjsj like you go leon be the badass agent you are!!! i think the moment that made the biggest impression on me was when they were escaping and leon went to retrieve some midodrine for so ah like!!! i knew smth was off!!! i have a few theories about so ah's condition (and i might absolutely be wrong lol) but i'm really excited to see what you've got in store for her!! oh and also that part with the tyrant omg i was actually scared for them throughout the scene (bc yes i'm still scared of him like his stomping is actually scary you never know where he'll come from .) and it was really well written <3

(like have u seen re6 leon or vendetta leon? the man ages like fine wine-) i wrote aphrotitty when ID! Leon was basically on my mind 24/7 and i had to let it out of my system and it took me about 2-3 months! i even got fixated over re6 leon (as one should) so there's gonna be some dialogues taken from resident evil 6!
