Everytime a westerner, specially a gringo, says that they can't deal with "the things" that are happening "right now" and that they want thing to be "normal again" is a reminder that they have spent their whole live living in the blissful ignorant imperialist bubble of the empire.

Not a single thing that is happening is abnormal, every single thing that is happening has been happening for decades in the best of cases and for centuries in the worst of cases, even millenia. But they just didn't cared nor didn't want to know nor want things to change and what they call normal life is just keeping be a beneficiary of imperialism and capitalism, and not having to deal with the 1% of what Global South has to deal with every damn second since centuries.

Let's do a bit of mea culpa here. I've never before delved into the Israel/Palestine history. Growing up, the answers to my questions were "It's too complicated", "It's very old", etc. And for whatever reason, once I had access to the internet, I never took the time to investigate on my own.

Then, october 2023 started. I didn't even know about october 7! I don't have cable, I don't own a TV, my mom was staying with me those days so I didn't even use my PC... So I didn't know about it. Then my mom goes back to her city, and I start going back to my daily life routine.

The first place I go is Tumblr, and amongst the every day posts I find one or two about something going on with Palestine and Israel, I get curious, I start informing myself, I learn about the attack on October 7... I LEARN ABOUT THE CARPET BOMBING IN GAZA!

I immediately react, because despite my ignorance, I KNOW that carpet bombing a civilizacion is WRONG!

Of course, then, I get more informed, I start actually reading, I learn that the conflict is not just very easy to understand, but IT IS "YOUNGER" THAN ALL OF MY GRANDPARENTS! I educate myself (and I keep doing it every day), I am now 100% with the Palestinian people.

But my point remains, you don't need to know everything there is to know about this conflict to know that carpet bombing cities is just evil. There is no excuse to drop bombs over residential buildings, schools, mezquites, churches, and frigging HOSPITALS! Doing that is evil, pure evil, there's no excuse that can justify those bombs. What Israel is doing is just evil. 

Every excuse you hear and/or read about it is garbage because they are using it to justify the killing of thousands of innocent people, and the only reason anyone could resonate with those excuses is that they themselves are racists. We saw the world reacting to Israelí civilians dying, and we see the world reacting to Palestinian civilians dying, and you can see the difference. Every person who thinks one of those is horrible but the other one is justifiable... is a racist. It is that simple.
