So my 2019 self was onto something

So just found out from Zawe that there was another alternate ending to the Marvels where Carol combusted with Dar-Benn. This is the link:

In my mind, the combustion did not kill Carol because she’s practically invincible but instead, she was sent to the universe Monica landed in and that’s how she met Binary.

I’m choosing to believe that if that happened, Carol and Maria fall in love again and they become space wives.

However, I need to be angst and say this.

Say Carol did die. She chose to sacrifice herself again, just like how she shot the light engine. At that time, she knew that she was saving lives including her family’s and again, she did the same. Carol dies for real this time, knowing she protected her family again.

Monica takes a long time to process Carol’s death. She’d just lost her mom and just forgiven Carol. Now, she will never spend time with her again, now she knows Carol is gone for good this time. She only hopes Carol and her mom are happy together, whereever they are.

Meanwhile, Kamala tries to live up to her hero. She tries to be like Carol, be selfless but she holds some guilt. In her mind, she thinks she could’ve stopped Dar-Benn from blowing up. She feels responsible for Carol’s death and she tries to make up for it by leading the Young Avengers.

And Fury has now lost everyone he’s cared about. He never thought that Carol could die and now that she’s gone and he’s all alone. Like Monica, he hopes that pain in his ass is with Maria now. Carol suffered so much during her human life and during her years as Captain Marvel.

Last but not least, Valkyrie has now lost someone she was close to, again. She and Carol never defined their relationship because Carol was too afraid of trying again and Valkyrie was too busy with her kingly duties. They agreed that they were better off as friends but Carol knew she had a place in New Asgard. Valkyrie saw Carol at her lowest point which was when Maria died and now she hopes that Carol can finally rest.

Monica, Kamala and Fury make it their goal to ensure that the Avengers honor Carol.
